Great staff Great atmosphere

Unfortunately for me, I had a non renovated room. It was average at best. ( I saw a renovated room during cleaning & noted the huge contrast). Unable to watch TV from the bed, and with a strong musty smell & inability to open the window, I propped the door open when in the room except at night. The grounds, restaurant, bar & gaming venue were all good. Also looks like a lovely wedding venue in old winery building. Staff were all excellent & willing to go the extra mile. KD was particularly great, but really all were including housekeeping. Food very good. Indoor pool was a bonus.

I booked a King Suite on booking.com pics looked decent online. After a search for the room with help from a staff member we found my room which the staff member thought was a chemical room as it had no room number on the door and was located in a dark little corner next to what looks to be kitchen access and pool chem storage. So went back to the office looking to upgrade then had to wait 10 minutes for the staff to find someone that knew how to do their job to approve that simple request. I was happy to pay the difference for another room that’s was clearly available online. On arrival to new upgraded room I’m greeted to the smell of old rotten carpet a tv that doesn’t work and tired old room nothing like the photos and could have got better at a caravan park. Maybe it would suit a dunken bridal party looking to orgy but I rather sleep in my car then stay here. Won’t be returning again

There were stains on my bedsheet and left over medications from the previous night.

Amazing food and staff go out of their way to help. Not packed in and beautiful site.

Great customer service, friendly staff created a relaxed feel where nothing was a problem. Best Salmon dish I’ve tasted! Very cool and fun spot!

Very Friendly, location and facilities were excellent. Will definately be coming back.

Went and stayed in spa room about to turn cold water tap of and handle came off spa started flooding and my dinner was ruined. Told them in the morning as managed to finally turn it of and where apologetic however no mention of ruined dinner. Overall my room was clean and modernish however other room was well outdated. Salmon at the restaurant was fantastic! Overall besides spa and ruined dinner was a good experience

We were hoping to stay at a winery in the McLaren Vale region, ideally at a winery. But this place, despite its name, is not a winery. The room is 50 m from the Expressway, maybe built in the 60s and, while kept clean, has never been upgraded. Except overhead cupboards (where's the ladder?) no cupboard with shelves to put your clothes The staff is very friendly and went out of their way to find us a spot for our EV to get charged over night, BIG PLUS! The restaurant offers a meagre $10 breakfast or on Sat, Sun an a la carte breakfast, but can't charge to the room. The main entrance leads very quickly to a gambling section. Outside are those gamblers and other guests who smoke all the time. The indoors swimming pool is OK but so strongly chlorinated that you smell it outside when walking past. If I came again I'd stay at a true winery instead of having to commute 30 minutes.

1 - it was appalling - was give room on ground which had staircase opposite. Room was revolting - dirty and walls badly naked and ‘spa’ was disgusting…. Mould around shower / spa outlets were disgusting. I sat I. Room for 20 mins and just could not get out quick enough - left and found a clean and well organised alternative.. don’t waste your time. Lots of old men hanging around outside also…

Christmas Day at St Francis Winery 2024 lunch. I cannot express how much we enjoyed our Christmas Day this year. We were a table of nine friends and family who all enjoyed the experience, from being greeted at the door by the lovely Payton, to the plentiful charcuterie platters, and fresh prawns on the tables. Then a beautiful buffet, with lovely tender, juicy turkey, luscious leg ham off the bone, roast pork cooked beautifully, chicken with all the trimmings, hot vegetable and salad bar, and really nicely presented individual desserts. Father Christmas arrived with gifts for the children, and we all agreed it was a great decision to celebrate Christmas at St Frances. Thankyou to Miles, who had a smile for all of us, and to all the staff who gave up their Christmas Day to make our day the best it could be.

Great place

This is not a winery anymore. It's very tired and needs an overall. The staff are amazing, helpful, and polite.

Smelt mouldy soon as you walked in, toilet falling apart let alone the shower and areas not wiped for ages. Bad area to have as a hotel it is really confusing for me to get into, my opinion. Tried ordering room service didn't get an answer 2 first times, the lady on the other end was really rude, would have been nice as well to see a $10 fee for the service on the hotels welcoming book. My recommendation stay anywhere else but here.

Lovely place to stay, room were very clean. My only suggestion would be some cold water in fridge. Good value for money and great shady grass areas with tables for enjoying a nice bottle of wine.

Excellent all round

OK, but needs update. Food good and service very good.

Booked to stay for our wedding night After viewing the room we decided to go somewhere else as the room was disgusting for the price The room smelt of mould the carpet in the bedroom was lifting in the middle of the room the skirtings desperately need painting After taking to receptionist I was informed the manager want in and they would contact me the following Monday I didn’t hear from them either couldn’t be bothered or couldn’t care Do no get conned into thinking that because it’s a winery then the accommodation should be nice I but it’s far from it DO NOT STAY THERE

We went to a Cars on the Green... Need better organisation in regards to the Vehicles...it was hap hazard..

So disappointed, $1.00 security bond, separate transaction from payment transaction... seriously??? Who does that... couch dirty and full of food scraps, hard to sit on.. couldn't even get extra milk and sugar in morning from the Chef, because it was before 0800am. Used to be our go to accommodation NOT ANY MORE... VERY DISAPPOINTED 😞

Paid more for a room with a spa and it didn't even work. Also asked for a room on ground level due to recently having surgery, and they couldn't accommodate. Upon arrival, we also had to give bond, either $1 on credit card (who has these now days, they're expensive) or $200 cash. Why do we have to pay for a room that we've already paid for. Then when we checked out and asked for a little reimbursement due to the spa not working (main reason we booked that room), they said they could only give us a drink because we booked through a third party?? Point of the review, DONT STAY HERE, NOT WORTH IT

Checking in is available up to 11pm. Rooms were lovely, clean & neat. The bed was very comfortable. There's a heated pool, gaming room, restaurant & a small bar. Restaurant is very good - great menu & food. Plenty of parking. It's a little bit noisy in the evening once any private functions end, with people returning to their rooms, but nothing too bad.

Had a great weekend there with family and friends. Popular place for weddings amongst a great setting.

Verbally abused by male staff member in pokie room, felt unsafe and had to leave. Visited regularly for a few years but will never be returning. Very disappointed in management.

Stayed with partner on the weekend. Accommodation is so terrible, someone needs to spend some money on maintenance and renovations. Dated furniture, holes in walls and curtains, mouldy grout in the bathroom, room smelt like cigarette smoke, dead bugs on window seals, no smart TV, mentioned these issues at checkout, staff did not seem surprised, but did apologise, however no compensation was offered. We attended a wedding for a friend and the food was very average, we hardly ate and got Uber eats later that night....this is not to the standard of any wedding venue in SA. Dont waste your money at this venue!

Not happy with this accommodation overall. Rooms were disgusting - ants everywhere, holes in the walls etc. I also had a group of young people partying in the room next door to me until 5.30am. I asked them to keep it down at midnight. Then I called the ‘after hours contact number’ to see if they could do something about the noise and it kept going to message bank. So I just put up with the noise until I finally got up and left as early as possible. I tried calling their reception later in the morning to let them know about the noisy guests and the phone just rings out. Extremely terrible stay - wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Good. Getting abit old but friendly and food good and large serves Pool was clean and awesome

Tried to bang the hell out of a gutter skank but the Staff were very unprofessional and kept wanting to film it....

First time attended was so lovely I booked again but second time was noisy with events, pool was filled with cold water while I was swimming on 2 occasions in the morning complained to management was told it's mildly inconvenient so I'm now booking elsewhere. No microwave or any plates or cutlery even when requesting a few plates for my cheese platter. No smart tv so had to bring my chrome cast and extension cord so come prepared.

Checking in- thou I had emailed the week before to change to an upstairs room and they’d said they had noted it on our booking, there was no notes on file, so stuck in darkest ground floor room. Tried checking out 7:55am… and was rudely snapped at and was told we needed to wait 5 mins. I would have been happy to wait, but rudeness was not appreciated.

Had a great night for Drag Bingo. If you have never been to one give it a go. So much fun. Did not stay over at the hotel but I'm going to book a spa room next time.

The atmosphere and the people that work here are absolutely amazing have gone beyond to accommodate and make sure my stay was the best we could possibly have thank you for the good time spent here

Food was very poor but the service was worce. 3 staff to 12-15 people and they couldn't remember drink orders even after you almost had rugby tackle them to take the order on the first place Avoid

I like the gaming machines here

Love it here the outside area is beautiful

Unsure why this place has VERY bad reviews. This is the cheapest hotel in Adelaide, you need to expect standards according to the price, you are not getting a 5 star room/service for a 3 star price. If you want a fancy room go elsewhere and pay the premium for it! Staff were extremally friendly, rooms were reasonable. This business is perfectly acceptable for the price!

Very good value room. Clean, quiet and comfortable. Lovely meal. Good location. Thankyou.

Stinked like cigarette smoke. Dirty floors , stained curtins, damaged furniture. Dirty spa bath. Nothing good to say Not one thing. Will never be back EVER ! PLEASE BOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE HAHHA

Food & service at the function I attended was excellent.

Good food ,good price for seniors

Great place to stay, staff superb and Pasta Penne sensational.

they should let you know when booking if they’re going to have a wedding reception with loud bass boosted music like we’re at a nightclub? so i can just not waste $300 of my hard earned money to have no sleep. and the staff did nothing of course. absolute garbage

Very nice venue and food.

Excellent service from all the staff there truly were exceptional towards us as I was there because my mother passed away they went out of their way to help us in every way! Highly recommended!

Danni was extremely helpful and friendly. Great customer service.

Had a good lunch off the specials board and service was really good as well.

QUALITY MANNERABLE, COURTESS, HELPFULL STAFF. BEAUTIFULL LOCATION SET IN VERY PLEASANT GARDEN SURROUNDS, WOULD RECOMEND TO OTHERS, THANKYOU KIND REGARDS FROM PAUL AND HELELA MUNDAY

Honestly the worst place I have ever stayed in my life! Not even joking, my partner and I have stayed in our fair share of hotels and motels and this has to be one of the worst, if not THE absolute worst. To start off we got our keys and paid with no dramas. The direction to our room was very unhelpful as we were wandering around for 10-15 minutes in the cold trying to locate our room. Turns out we were on the wrong side, the glass door we were told to locate to the right was no where near. After finally finding our room we came in to find that the curtains were half hanging on the wall and the room smelt of cigarettes that had tried to be covered by a perfume of sorts. The couch had stains on it and the room looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed. To top it off, after going to the bathroom and washing my hands there was a pungent sewerage smell coming from the sink. We didn’t bother to test the shower after that. We then went down for dinner, the dining room was small, had no issues except it was freezing cold. The waitress looked like she was on drugs, jaw swinging like a merry go round. Couldn’t maintain eye contact and just looked off her lid. We ordered 2 porterhouse steaks medium rare, a garlic bread and 2 fruit tingles. The garlic bread came out fine, another 30 minutes passed and still no drinks or steak. 45 minutes passed and we got our steaks, mine was Bleu (raw) and my partners came out over cooked and he just about needed an angle grinder to cut through it. They were almost cold and the chips were on fire. The chips were placed underneath the steak so all the chips were soggy and hot. After a few mouthfuls of our meal, which tasted as salty as the ocean, we were done. Our drinks were still not made and the waitress was still pinging around the place doing random things. Even though we still had no drinks. We got up to leave and when we walked past the bar and got to the door we saw the other lady with a bottle of passion fruit in her hand which was assumed to be the start of our cocktail (which didn’t even have passion fruit in the description of the drink on the menu). Then we hear them say as we’re leaving “they’re leaving. They paid for their cocktails” Neither of them tried to stop us from walking out and we stayed the night and had no contact about the fact we paid $24 for our cocktails and didn’t get them. We walked back to the car and decided to get drinks across the road at the crown drive thru, as the staff were incompetent to make ours. Upon arriving back at the winery we parked up and sat in the car for roughly 10 minutes. During these 10 minutes someone parked on the other side of the lot got out of their car wearing high vis and came to my drivers side window. Upon seeing me he quickly turned around and headed back to his car. A few minutes more and what could only be described as a dealer came to that persons car and were passing things through the window. They proceeded to stay there and take glances and staring at our car. We got out and grabbed our belongings to put them in the room. We watched as the 2 talked quietly and kept glancing at the car and us as we walked away. After dropping our stuff off in the room we went back to the car and managed to find a park right out the front window of the winery where the restaurant is. We were genuinely worried that someone would break into the vehicle. There were multiples of these men dressed in track pants and hoodies walking around suspiciously. They did not have a room either just hanging around the area keeping up with the dealings. On the way to the room we saw people sitting outside with Uber eats bags and another man walking to his room with an Uber eats bag even though the restaurant was open. Finally laying down in bed after the whole experience, we hear a man yelling outside in the courtyard. My partner, over the whole experience and both of us wanting to go home yelled out our window to stop and be quiet. The man laughed like a maniac. Worst experience ever. Would NEVER EVER recommend to anyone.

Great place, friendly staff.

We stayed here for 3 night. The staff were superb and friendly . Clean and tidy. I enjoyed the super quick room service after a long day out and love the quite away feel about the place . Look forward to returning soon .

Good location rooms a bit dated and walls thin lol . Good pub across the road and in house dining

Too busy to count out $10 in change to give a note in the pokie room. ||Got told go to a bank. ||Then they stood there talking crap about their weekend together. ||Stinky room smells like old peoples wee.||This is pensioners and ferals hotel.||Thought i would have a nice drink and play the pokies in a nice winery . This is not s winery by any means.

We celebrated a friend's 80th birthday at the winery. The venue was perfect and the staff were fantastic.

Wonderful and quaint. Loved it here and enjoyed the experience. Very helpful staff

It's fine for accommodation. Rooms are a little dated but acceptable. Coffee and biscuits and plenty of towels. I only stayed the night so can't comment on any other aspects of the place.

Lovely stay, couldn't get breakfast in house on a holiday Monday. Also first motel I've stayed that don't supply hair dryers in the rooms.

Great stay, location was perfect for us. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Restaurant was pretty good too, not enough choices for my liking but I'm fussy and we had a great meal just a little out of my comfort zone :) I did enjoy my wine though..

So where do I begins with a promising lunch time feed with the kids and family We where welcomed nicely a small petite place not to busy but busy enough felt like a bowling club old people run place thought what a unique place with the menu being small which is normally a good thing cause the things that make the menu are good well we ordered nuggets for the kids and they ran out his to send the manager down to foodland to get more freezer nuggies the most expensive nuggets ever. The beef stroganoff was served cold to a pregnant woman not a big deal rectified Pretty easy the Atlantic salmon was good for a local winery and clearly not know what there specials being beef or lamb They definitely need some improvement service was good And at least the bread rolls where good

Couldn’t be more impressed with our 3 night stay at St Francis winery. The room was very comfoortable and clean. The pool was amazing! The meals at the bistro were incredible. Will definitely stay again. Beautiful place with friendly staff.

We, a gruop of 15 retirees, lunched at St. Francis on 21/2/24, and it was one of the best luncheons we have had. In short, it was flawless. The food was very generous in quantity and of the best quality, and the pensioners menu provided us with an excellent selction to choose from, at most reasonable prices. And the staff who served us were exceptioana. We wre made to feel very welcome, and this made the experience even more enjoyable. On Behalf of the group, I am only too happy to recommend St.Francis Winery to everyone.

Had a wonderful afternoon and night at St Francis Winery, excellent room and facilities, staff superb and very attractive surroundings. Would recommend a visit.

Our room was very comfortable and clean. The staff was super friendly and made me feel at home

After 2 emails still no answer about an unnessesary reservation on my creditcard. Pleasant stay, but the unresolved issue lasts too long. Pity.

Family lunch at St Francis Winery. Service was attentive and fresh staff. Our meals all came out at the same time, entrees and mains. 2 of us had herbed crumb chicken schnitzel which was huge, beautiful crunch on the crumb, thick and moist chicken breast came with a tasty salad and crummy well seasoned chips. We had to take the other half home. Fish was moist and Nan couldn’t eat it all. MIL had the salmon on the specials board and said it was absolutely beautiful. Lambs fry was delicious and flavourful as I tried a mouthful of Mums. We were all very pleased with our meals, full bellies and atmosphere. We will be back and I have recommended St Francis Winery to my friends and work colleagues. 5 stars 🌟

Had the spa room- expected something nice but room was well past its prime and disappointing. The dank smell as soon as we walked in was overwhelming. There were fights throughout the night and cops everywhere when we entered the reception to return the key the following morning. The website pics look ok but in reality the place is far from that.... Wouldn't stay again even if the room was free. Staff were nice tho✌️

Location of the hotel is great, have supermarket and restaurant nearby with walking distance. I do enjoy the stay given the price of it, it's acceptable. However, 2 light bulbs not working in the room, we let the staff know, and the staff only say: sorry, I couldn't change the light bulb, maintenance staff is working tomorrow only. I do understand that, but, maybe he could go and check if there is any room available for us to be moved to instead of just leaving the room like that.

Rude and Racist place to be. My 50+ mother was ignored and spoken to like nothing. Security are the worst, refused my mother help when she was being harassed by a another guest of the hotel. Would NOT go here if you have dark skin.
