There’s definitely something dodgy going on at this hotel. Upon check-in, my work group and I were informed that we had received ‘complimentary’ upgrades that we had to pay for. Setting aside the obvious contradiction, we declined the offer and requested the rooms we had booked and paid for. The hotel itself appears outdated and in dire need of a renovation. Despite this, the rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. Several hours after checking out, I discovered that the hotel had charged my credit card $140 for an upgrade. When I attempted to contact the hotel to inquire about the charge, they were unable to provide a reason and stated that they were ‘investigating’ the matter. This behaviour by the staff is highly questionable, ranging from the unexpected attempt to charge us more during check-in to the subsequent after-checkout charge. I strongly advise against staying at this hotel. You would be better off choosing an Ibis instead.

Excellent location

Great place to stay friendly staff,, clean room and bathroom , reasonable bed.

As a frequent traveller lots of good here. Great location, nice logically laid out rooms (none of that fussy boutique stuff) and friendly staff. A couple of things to improve. 1 The fact the air con in the room only works when you are in there is crazy as sometimess here the temp can hit 43 C outside means coming back to an oven. A crazy policy for a 5 star hotel 2 The rooms are lovely but outside is a bit dated Small gripes but overall pretty good

DO NOT RECOMMEND!! Don't bother.. especially if you're after 5 star. Executive floor and suites - level 17 barely 3 star. Carpets filthy dirty. Dirty towels. Lifts not working. Emails to management took 3 days then ignored! So disappointing.

Amazing location, you can walk anywhere or catch a train or tram. The staff are wonderfully helpful

Central location with parking available. Clean rooms.

Stayed here in January after we had a horrible experience last year at this hotel after paying for an upgrade to a better room we found a half used syringe on the bed side lamp (got to question whether the room was cleaned) and thought we give it second chance after the manager had rang us personally and apologise and assured if we stay again he will make sure our stay will be excellent. Sadly it failed miserably again and it just gets worse every year and definitely won’t be staying ever again. Elevator still not working after 12 months, room wasn’t made up after 3/4 phone calls to reception, had to ask for clean cups and more coffee which was delivered to the room in a garbage bag, no clean towels and rude staff.

Really enjoyed staying here. From an easy check-in straight into our standard room, we had a great time here. We were met at the entry by a delightful staff member, Shaun, who just kept adding value to our experience. The rooftop pool is a valuable inclusion in this facility, make sure you check it out, even if it's just to try and make out what's going on in the wacky mural. Anyway, the hotel is perfectly located next to all the public transport you want, the museum district is nearby, there's incredible cocktail bars in easy reach - you're well placed to enjoy all the best bits of Adelaide.

I had a lovely experience at this hotel. The staff were incredibly nice service was prompt and quick. The rooms were also really nice and gave a very good and modern feel to the whole hotel. The views from my room were really spectacular especially at night. I spent a good portion of my time just watching people and looking at everyone's daily lives. It was quite therapeutic. The hotel also comes packed with a pool and a gym however I didn't use the pool as I was there during winter. Nevertheless it's still offered even more nice views in the city. The location was also really close to everything in the city and it was a really nice central hub. Definitely would come back again and worth its money.

Very good location accessible to almost everything , tram , taxi , bus and railway . Near from the ever busy Rundle Mall and many tourist attractions .

Was there for the Tour Down Under weekend. The room was awesome, big and clean. Only downside about the room was the view. Look outside and all you see is the wall from the building next door. Weirdest thing about the room was the bathroom. Turn the cold water on and it's hot. Thought I turned the wrong tap on but no. Had to let the cold water(hot) run for a few minutes before the cold water started to come out. Never had that before. Out of the three lifts, two broke down late Saturday afternoon. Trying to get a lift to ground floor was near impossible. Waited about 20 minutes before we decided to catch the lift going up before coming down. While other guests decided to walk up and down the fire stairway. Unfortunately Sunday the lifts were still not working. Would have thought the service company for the lifts would have been there straight away considering how busy the week/weekend would have been. Can't complain about the staff, they were friendly and helpful.

Good place to stay if you like waiting 10 minutes for a lift. Must have 1 of the 3 running absolute gee up

The lifts are not working and to wait up to 45 mins for one is not acceptable. Tried to contact reception and housekeeping and got no answer.

Lifts are a problem only one working and over ten minutes wait

The slow cook restaurant was horrible, my granddaughters meal was great, my pork was ho hum and my son who wasn't hungry had sweet potato fries which were uncooked in the middle, I complained and got a very half hearted apology. I will never go back or recommend it.

Me and my girls stayed in the Deluxe Park double room for a special celebration and ,let me tell you it was amazing 😉had the most relaxing time I've have for a long time ,bed was super comfy , shower had great water pressure felt so good ,pool was great water temp warm ,didn't want to get out 🤣 House keeping staff we're warm and friendly, actually all staff we had interactions with we're great 👍 So grateful for the added bonus left in our room ,couldn't be more happier 😊 A huge thank you to Himashu for making our stay fabulous 👌 Please stay here you won't regret it Definitely be back soon !!! 😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄

Good to stay very good and convenient.

The check-in process was a bit of a nightmare, almost 50 minutes queuing until another staff member came on, and then only one of the elevators was running for some reason (which wasn't explained or apologised for). We had to wait another 15 minutes to get up to our room, and then the same again to get back downstairs, although big thanks to the staff member who saw us waiting and apologised profusely and took us down the staff elevator. These are the reasons for the two star on service, the actual interactions with staff outside of this were all of excellent quality - particularly at the buffet breakfast (if I was rating on that alone, especially the omelette, it would have been 5 star). The bed was comfortable, the room was nicely appointed, loved the ability to stream our own services to the television!

Great place to stay. Car park not designed for large 4x4 so speak to staff if you arrive in one

Line for check in was long and slow moving Lifts where broken, took us over an hour to get to our room then the bar was closed so we couldn't even use the $50 voucher we paid for, staff where no help. I DO NOT RECOMMEND, WILL NOT BE RETURNING!

It's almost perfect. Disappointed, the bar was closed, although it claimed to be open 7 days, with a happy hour. Sean, who greeted us at the door, went above and beyond with service. Lovely young man.

We had an average experience staying here. When we checked in they randomly charged us $1400 instead of the $100 security deposit. It was lucky that I checked my bank account on the way up to the room. They did eventually refund us that later in the day. On arrival we were told the carpark was free for guests, but on the morning we checked out we were charged $30 per night, and again the only way I noticed was checking my bank account - even at checkout we weren’t told. The fee would have been fine if we were told in the first place… it all left a very bad last impression, wouldn’t recommend

Reception seemed friendly, but we're almost useless. The only person who was actually helpful and friendly was the concierge who came up and helped collect our belongings when we left. Parking was less than 190cm and it was full anyway. The first concierge had no idea of where else to park, and suggested the most derelict lot in town (looked so dodgy) do had to find my own. On our check-in we arrived an hour early (just after 1pm), and had to wait... and wait... and wait. It was over an hour after 2pm that we actually got access to our room. Not even an apology for the lateness, an offer of a drink or anything. Air-conditioning was not working properly in our room. It kept stopping every hour or so. At times the phone rang out as no one in reception answered. I tried for 10 minutes at one point. The mini fridge wasn't cold enough to keep milk and the drinks we put in there might as well have been left out. Our second night was better with a change of rooms. One lift was not working, and according to the second concierge had not been working for weeks! This meant lifts took forever and waits of over 7 minutes for a lift were not uncommon. On our check out day we waited over half an hour, as about 200 rooms were all checking out at once and being on the 5th floor we were last on the pecking order for pick-ups and the lifts were all chock-filled. The pool was ok, a bit cold, but ok. The kids seemed to like it. The side street next to it seemed to be the hangout for the homeless and other non-functioning members of society. Overall, I would not stay here again if you paid me to.

Just completed a finve night stay and very much enjoyed it. Hotel reservations were very accommodating for my room request with a work desk and room service very prompt and friendly. Lifts were a problem on one day only but other than this, I couldn't fault the stay. Very well located!

We didn’t use the facilities so can’t comment but the location was great. Room wasn’t well sound proofed we could hear conversations in the adjoining room. Quite a wait at reception during busier times.

Average hotel, not up to expectations. Noisy, lifts are always delayed up to 30min. Bar was closed. Food is not on site

Centrally located , nice size rooms , clean, breakfast average(hotel buffet) generally good but the hotels glory days are behind it it’s starting to look a bit aged. A few dodgy characters around the area.

Several issues with this hotel, first of all they were behind with cleaning rooms so we had to wait over an hour to check in. One of the lifts weren't working so there were massive delays with getting up and down. The air conditioner in our room kept turning off, the mini bar was not working and everything was warm. The customer service was terrible, no one even apologized or provided complimentary items. I would not recommend this hotel.

No bathrobe, over busy escalator, no dental amenities.

Room was in bad need of repairs had torn carpet lock on bathroom broken cracked wall, air con gets turned off ever day so you come back to a hot room and have to turn in on everyday, not all the lifts work and are so slow. Forgot to service our room one day and wanted to credit us $10 to forget it having it done. Fridge wasn’t overly cold serviced room one day and forgot to leave any towels zero view from room. Staff were friendly but hotel a dump.

New year's celebrations Together with a room with a view for fire works. Completely poor in everything. Hollywood event was a joke The price we did pay I believe everyone deserves better. The staff seems like they don't wanna be there, no friendly at all. Water was warm, no ice , the food pretending to be French taste , I m not a chef, but for the price we pay was very poor. Parking: No parking unless we pay for. Very expensive night where the value of money wasn't there. Still waiting money back to my credit card, I was told they will hold $100 , which they did, pay for car park, and the rest of money will be send to my credit card in 10 days, still waiting!!° Overall A night to remember but all for wrong reasons.

To me the rooms really need to be updated. We had to ask for our our rooms to be refreshed with clean dry towels atc.. We didn't. Have the tea cups rinsed or replace and no teabags either. It was obviously an extremely hard time of year for the staff, having the hotel in full capacity. I recommend the Argentinian and Japanese restaurants as well as the buffet Breakfast. The children absolute you love the pool would have been nice if there was a spire so wanna other than that it was a nice day and all the stuff on face to face value were very warm and friendly

Ok

Stamford Plaza Adelaide is at superb location very convenient for travelling in city.

Everything is good.

Stayed on 27th December. While the room was satisfactory and staff were pleasant, we had significant concerns about safety and convenience during our stay. The lifts were extremely slow with not all lifts operational and the stairwells were locked when we tried to go down/up via stairs, which left us feeling uneasy as we were on the 17th floor. In the event of an emergency, this could pose a serious safety risk. Additionally, the delays in lift access caused us to miss saying goodbye to our children. When we raised these concerns, the response was simply that they would be passed on to the relevant manager. We hope the management addresses these issues promptly, as they are both unacceptable and dangerous. It would have been much safer for staff to say the lifts were not fully operational so patrons could make an informed decision on their wellbeing. Transparency is always appreciated.

Bien qu’un peu vieillot c’est un hôtel sympa et le petit déjeuner est bien. Le bar au fond du hall est un peu triste comme les couloirs des étages. Situation : très bien placé.

Recently I had to work in the CBD and chose to stay at the Stamford Plaza – what a great decision! The room was exactly what we needed, clean and well-appointed with a desk. There is a restaurant on site that we had the pleasure of dining at and the breakfast in morning was absolutely scrumptious with everything that you could want to eat for breakfast but the best was the omelette station where a chef will cook to order your own omelette - delicious!! There was live music on Friday night in the cocktail bar which was a fantastic way to end a busy week. ||||But what made our staff perfect was the staff! From the lady who assisted us when we made the initial booking to everyone we encountered - front desk, cleaners, restaurant staff, cocktail lounge staff - the service cannot be faulted. Smiles and helpful attitudes were in abundance which contributed to our lovely stay. We can’t recommend the Stamford enough – whether you need to stay in Adelaide for business or pleasure (we intend to come back for a staycation) we recommend staying at the Stamford Plaza very highly.

The shower floor was higher than the bathroom floor and the bathroom floor was higher than the bedroom floor |So when having a shower u needed to put a rolled up towel at the shower access to stop the bathroom and bedroom floors from getting wet|There was only 2 lifts in service and there was a conference being held there. It often took 30min to get a lift. Eventually people were going up in the lifts to come down.

The room was terrible, like taking a step back in the 70s or different strokes. Had to pay a $100 bond but haven't got it back yet. Liok at other hotels, this one needs renovations done to improve the rooms. Never again

Room was ok, although when using the shower, it would make a squeeky water pressure noise which was very annoying. There is also a long wait for the lift, as there are many floors but only 1-2 lifts were working. I would still recommend this hotel for location and the quietness.

Spent night during NYE. Hotel is fine location is good. But, check in was disappointing staff named Himanshu didn’t even greet us and gave us broken door room. And didn’t even apologize us. Food and fool was okay. But hotel was not worth it money that we paid.

Lovely hotel, with friendly vibe. |Rooms clean and beds very comfortable for a great nights sleep. |Centrally located, walking distance to trams and trains, as well as Rundle mall and restaurants galore close by.|Would definitely stay again.

Lifts still not working they were broken about a month ago and still no fixed .10 minute wait to get from 8th floor to ground. Same wait time going up

Stayed there last week. Location is amazing. Staff are good too. However a bit disappointed with breakfast as it had limited gluten free options and also the room service / cleaning wasn’t that great as our coffee cups were not washed.

5 mins from CBD. Rooms are clean

Not good. Up to 1/2 hour wait for lift. Told to wait till 8.00am for breakfast while a group goes through first then no answer from room service, reception, operator or assistant manager when you call for room service. We are fully paying guests aswell but not treated like one. Avoid if you can. Even the breakfast was not what was advertised and some guests got special treatment with fried eggs when others where told no. Rooms were lovely and great location though. Sadly we are still here with one day to go.

What it was supposed to be a relaxing holiday, it turned out to be a nightmare. We had to wait 15 minutes for the lifts, and even asked housekeeping to use the service lift or take the stairs. I took me one hour to buy a coffee downstairs and get back to the room. There was a Vietnamese conference the whole weekend, and they used the lifts all the time. Plus, one was out of service. The gym is small but has everything you need although some parents take the kids there as it is a playground. The pool is okay. The room is outdated and not nice but spacious. Every night we had to ask reception to restart the AC. Very disappointed!

Nice room but the lift is so slow, we were staying at Level 15 and had to wait for 20min to get to the lobby as only one lift was working. And the breakfast is very average, no full buffee as their claimed. I could not even get the fried eggs 😂

I went to the Argentinian restaurant located inside the hotel. The food and drinks were excellent, the staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful, I loved the energy of each one. But I can't say the same about the chef, his name was Jonas, Jason or something like that (I couldn't see his nametag well). That guy was arrogant and condescending when I asked him a few simple questions. I understand if he hates his job but he shouldn't take it out on the customers. I hope they change that chef soon as he is the only bad thing about the restaurant.

Had an amazing weekend. Staff went over and above to assist. Room service was amazing. Special thanks to Linc (concierge) nothing was too much, you made our stay relaxing and enjoyable. Merry xmas to all ♥️

We had a few issues with Incorrect dates even though we rang and checked with the company and were told that the dates we wanted were correct. When we got there we were told that we should have been there the day before we explained all this to them and were told we could stay in the room for the second night but would have to pay for it so we ended up paying 2 nights and were only able to stay for 1 very unsatisfactory and there was no attempt to help in any way .

Great location , right opposite the casino and railway station Also a few steps from Rundle mall Have stayed many times in here! Love it

Stay here many times , because of the location and the convenience! Will be back soon

Always great service ,professional helpful staff only too glad to go a little extra

5 star for this hotel is a lie, maybe the entrance area is closer to a 5 star but the rest of the place is old and run down. (Photos were taken after we packed up to leave) The bed was disgusting to sleep on, woke up every hour due to it being uncomfortable, extremely firm and springy would hurt to turn over. The next door neighbours were banging at 2 am and you could hear it everywhere, the entire place you could hear the toilets flushing, people running up and down the hallway. The room it’s self was barely a 3 star, windows you couldn’t open for air and the aircon even set at a lower temperature didn’t drop anywhere lower than 20. The globes and bed area were still dusty like they haven’t been cleaned in yonks, this is not the experience you’d expect from a 5 star hotel. The light switches were confusing and couldn’t use the side lamps without having the main bedroom light on. Customer service was dismal a and the front of house staff wasn’t very welcoming. The food was average for a 5 star hotel, chips and chicken nuggets were great but prices for nasi goreng and the burger being below average were disappointing. Bacon was burnt on the burger it was gross I took it out of the burger. We could look past a lot of things but the bed was the most disappointing and paying $250 a night I would at least expect a bed that isn’t 15 years old

an excellent Beach front hotel, the staff were great and we felt really looked after! the hotel manager and front of house staff were really accommodating and the food was good. the place could do with a bit of newer furniture but with everything else, that's minor! will be back! 🥰

Seriously a dank hotel. In desperate need of a refurb.

I loved the environment, my room, the pool view, and all restaurants around the hotel.

Clean room - bit of a 1970s set up so no power points to plug in my sleep apnoea machine - booked in late after a plane cancelation - ordered a late dinner over the app and had it confirmed, but 30 minutes later got a phone call to say that the kitchen was closed. Should have just gone to bed

Facilities were a bit dated but fine and clean. Was an issue with the lifts in the morning and was taking a long time to service floors, ended having to use the stairs. Was expecting a long line up for checkout as a result but reception was empty so idea what was going on with the lifts. Check in had a long line up too at 1430 on a Saturday but least they got through us all quickly.

Lined up for 30 minutes out of the front entrance to check in.. Rooms average, view gross. 1 lift working to service 20 floors. Ended up having to take stairs, 16 flights. Breakfast buffet average. Ordered a coffee, was told would bring to our table, sat with coffee attendant for 25 minutes.. cold. Had paid $5.50. Staff are obviously used to shortcomings of hotel and being grossly understaffed. Would never stay at Stamford for that price again.

Have emailed the Stamford Directly as there was some extremely bad hygiene practices and unorganised staff

Great location but bathroom very tired. Housekeeping very hit and miss. Breakfast not great, including one very slow coffee machine. Overall a bit disappointing.

Great location, right next to the Adelaide train station, the river, Rundle mall and Oval. Polite staff and easy check-in and check-out. Well sized room.

Pretty speccy buffet breakfast here which almost makes up for the kinda out of date decor. If this place had an update it would be premium 👌 Vast array of food in the buffet breakfast and a chef on hand to prepare fresh food on request. Coffee machine was pretty slow especially as caffeine withdrawls were kicking in by 7.30 but I handled it and when that sweet coffee touched my lips the fix was mighty tasty. Legal drugs are the best drugs ❤️ Oh crispiest bacon on the planet in the pic below... And also my wallet 🤔

Hermoso

The worst! Hotel I have ever been!

A fantastic experience at this hotel! Front desk very efficient. Shout out to the hidden staff Monica and Camilla housekeeping who made sure my room was immaculate during my stay. Location in central Adelaide perfect for business as well as great walks along the river! Service was exceptional thanks to the team

Lovely atmosphere, food was incredible!

Stay at the Stamford for one night. Was looking forward to it after our last stay. Unfortunately this time was not so good. We had arrived 2 hours after check in time, only to be told our room wasn’t ready, no problem, parked the car which my partner was told was free, went to the lobby and the room was ready. My partner had requested a room near the lift well we couldn’t have been further. The room itself was so outdated, bed uncomfortable and don’t get me started on the pillows. Had breakfast the next day all good then went to check out and was charged for parking, didn’t say anything, was over it. To top it off dirty band aid in the car park lift. Have stayed in cheaper place and had better rooms and service.

Rooms are showing their age a bit.

Supurb location for the Festival Theatre, Casino and Rundall Mall.
