Two bar staff made me feel unwelcomed the entire time and then resentful that I got locked out at 3am of ANOTHER NIGHT CAP HOTEL I'm homeless and autistic Never again, can't get out of here quick enough and I'm sure they will be glad to see me go

I’ve been a regular visitor at the Hendon for a while now, and it never fails to impress! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by a warm and welcoming atmosphere that perfectly balances cozy charm with vibrant energy. The staff here are top-notch—friendly, attentive, and always happy to recommend their favorite drinks or dishes. Speaking of which, the Chicken wings & Steak Sandwich are absolutely amazing! They clearly put care into sourcing quality ingredients and crafting unique flavors. The pub’s ambiance is another standout feature. Whether you’re looking for a laid-back spot to unwind after work or a lively evening with friends, The Hendon caters to everyone. The recent events add an extra layer of fun and keep me coming back. If you’re in the Western suburbs and haven’t been to The Hendon yet, you’re seriously missing out. It’s a true local treasure, and I can’t recommend it enough!

1 / 1 What is wrong with this ALH Group? Once again only after 8 months of being at the Hendon Hotel we are losing the Venue Manager Tony. When will this stupidity of moving VM’s stop. He has worked hard in getting this pub moving forward & he’s reward for that is being told we are moving you. Was there any Consultation with Tony prior to this decision being made? Probably Not, just some idiot in Head Office making the decision. This Hotel has just had the AM & 2 Casuals Leave in the last 3-5 weeks & then some Bright Spark decides that the best thing for the Hotel is to move the VM to another Venue. Smart Move! You wonder why you are losing VM’s & AM’s & casual staff it’s because you treat them with No Respect & Years of Service means nothing to you! When Tony came back in July 2023 after the last VM lasted only 8 months (he had been here previously but once again got Moved to another Venue), we asked him how long he was going to be here for. He informed us for at least 3 years & we all Laughed. This Hotel hasn’t had a VM last over 12 months for such a long time, some not even lasting a Month before being moved to another Venue. When will this Group stop having this Revolving Door Policy & let the VM’s remain where they are as they know the Venue, the Cliental & what works & what doesn’t. This Post will probably fall on Deaf Ears & Tony will still be moved after Sunday but maybe it’s about time this Group considered stability for its Employee’s at its Venues & leave the staff there for longer periods rather than the Here Today & Gone Tomorrow Mentality.

Table of 11 booked at 6. Ordered by 6.30. Last meal delivered to the table at 8. Kitchen ran out of chips and wedges! Fish n chips was fish and mash. Bangers mash and peas was bangers mash and asparagus!! This is the second time we have been and this happen! (We thought we’d give them a second chance) NEVER again! So disappointing as the bar staff are great and working on difficult circumstances!

Went to the Hendon Hotel today for a Melbourne Cup luncheon. Food was amazing and great value, what was even better was the incredibly friendly and helpful staff. We have just moved in to the area and while we haven’t found our ‘local’, we could see from the patrons why they would be regulars here. Can’t wait to be back to see the team at the Hendon again soon 😃

Brilliant Melbourne Cup at the Hendon, 5th November 2024. The menu and food was outstanding and the price of $40 was unbelievable. The atmosphere and service was first class all day. My only complaint is that a bigger TV is needed to view the racing in the Bistro as when your seated you don't want to leave your seat to view the races or go to the sportsbar. All round first class.

This is a budget hotel with rooms up stairs they were cleaned every day with fresh linen. The Staff are really helpful willing to serve you food was delicious and plentiful. Will be back again to stay.

Well I still haven't been inside 🙃 the place doesn't scream get in me and have a drink. I didn't even know it's a hotel. And I live close by for years

Clean rooms a bit small but overall a great place

Cool wallpaper; just found one of the menus was hard to read due to a lack of contrast also 1 menu with a white background is visible to read through the black text on what’s is shown on the menu. Just a nice place with nice ambience also liked it. it is quiet also diners chatting with their own company; $24.80 is good value as I opted my choice for Chicken wings accompanied with a Sticky date pudding and a Latte Also I have noticed 1 viewing screen is showcasing music from the mid 90s to 00s and 1 viewing the AFL match against Carlton vs Port Adelaide currently. I can see there are 10 small spherical lanterns amongst the dining furniture To be honest this venue is exceptionally good without children in my presence The chicken wings were superb with the crispiness on the skin plus the sticky date pudding was outstanding with cream and ice cream including the butterscotch sauce as I enjoyed it.

If you are going to the QEH and need somewhere to stay, this is the place. Friendly staff, clean comfortable rooms, great meals. No road noise at night is always a bonus.

Friendly service

Hendon Hotel is a great place to stay, rest and have a few drinks. Ample parking with a drive through to take some beverages home as well. If staying, is not far from the heart of Port Adelaide, and a stones throw from the beach. Plenty of shops around without having to drive too far. 20 minutes and you're in the city, 10 and you're at Harbour Town, even the airport is only 15 away. The staff here are lovely, they go above and beyond for their clientele. They are always happy and have some great stories to tell. The rooms are well maintained and modern, great quality all round. If you're looking for place to rest your head, I highly recommend. The mattresses are so comfortable, you'll get a good night's rest that I can assure. Each room has its own private bathroom with a rainmaker shower head. If you're not staying overnight, I recommend at least having a meal, the food is very nice. The chef here takes pride in their job and it shows. Please support your local and pop on in, you won't be disappointed. Whether it's a meal, a stay, or just a cheeky pint, you'll be glad you popped into the Hendon.

Room was clean and cozy but it was so loud noise from inside (Service fridge) and outside (Bar section).

It took over 45 minutes just to get a bowl of chips for takeaway

I can't remember much of the night to be honest...but what I remember was pretty good

Had to visit Adelaide for a surgery at the hospital and decided to stay here The staff were very friendly and the room was cozy and was professionally tidied every day. We had a couple meals as well and they were amazing Overall the experience was wonderful and we will definitely stay again if we needed to visit again

Quiet quaint pub, big pokies room and patrons are welcoming

You get barred from the place for a bunch of lies and I have proof about the lies and they still let people drink there that put your kids in hospital Not to mention my son was autistic and put him in hospital And last year the same guy that put my son In hospital Put hand sanitizer in my austic and ADHD son eye And yeah nothing got done This pub is not family friendly and something needs to be done about it Everyone that matters apart from people that socialise with kids bashes and people that do drugs in in the toilets comes to the Seaton you get treated better there and better food and better customer service

I used to be a very fond patron of the hendon hotel however recent experience and visits have been less than enjoyable with staff whom remove your reserve sign from your Pokie machines without even checking with you if you have finished and then arguing with you when realising the anamosity it has created that you have been too long having your cigarette. I have invested so much money into this pub that I am beyond disappointed with the staffs very rude and nonchalant response to complaints made about this behavior I'll be going elsewhere from now on. Seriously get some better staff..bring back Rebecca,!!!

Used to be great, then management stopped caring about keeping women and diverse people safe. Avoid at all costs unless you are a straight white cis male.

I’m not a qualified chef but pretty sure rare steak shouldn’t be brown. Not even medium rare is that overcooked. Pretty sure my boyfriends beef schnitzel was rarer than my steak. My 11 year old could have done better, redeeming feature, they give you a free bread roll with real butter, probably because they know you won’t eat your meal when it arrives. Would rather a servo hot dog, would not recommend.

First time visiting this hotel. I've been in Adelaide for 17 years and drove past the hotel plenty of times, but it just didn't appeal to me. However, I am glad I went in. Nice TAB area and a lot bigger than I expected. Really open inside. I only visited the sportsman bar, so I didn't eat there. Staff were friendly and provided great service. Great staff, great service, plenty of parking, and a BWS out the front. What more could you ask for. Definitely will visit it again

Love the lambs fry, bacon and mash on their Seniors menu... Just reopened their restaurant after 3 years hiatus due to Covid. Still have Lambs Fry and Bacon and Mash on the menu, and this version is still fantastic. It's slightly different but succulent. Congratulations, I'll be back !

Staff very helpful, but sleep is an issue with the music from the poker machine room downstairs…. That needs to be fixed… and the cleaner vacuuming keenly at 0540am on the 4 th morning… I anticipate these issues would be fixed by August 8th 2023… speakers from the Pokies room need to be redirected

Really good hotel, very comfy beds, central location for where we want to go. Very accomodating when we arrive on late flights from WA, always greeted with friendly smiles from all the staff. 10 out of 10 🙏🌻

The older lady the works behind the bar was just plain rude and racist towards my mate only black person there and ask him for id to drink when he had a full beard! Didn't ask me or my other friends who are all younger than him...

Only a short trip to the QEH. Very accommodating and held room for us as we didn't know how long we would need to be there.
