Prompt service. knowledgeable staff. Good prices

Good pricing and helpful staff. Best if you know what you want rather than getting guidance from the sales people who are more technicians/engineers than salespeople. Suits me perfectly. Several outlets and all are similar. Huge range of computer goodies in particular.

Information, needs to be upgraded, new photo....

Disgusting customer service, staff member was Caucasian male with an Afro top and shaved sides whom started off the sentence with what do you want and have a severe attitude. Totally disgusted 🤮

Best computing store in Adelaide. Great range and prices.

👍

If you want a new PC or a repair the guys will look after you, they'll only sell what you need and only repair what needs to be repaired. I'll only by from MSY.

Friendly and helpful staff.

The 1 percent surcharge for walk in sales is absolutely ridiculous and a scam.

Great customer support through email.

Great prices for computer parts and if you call, they'll be able to quickly check stock for you

very helpful, they helped me with my enquiries in the end i got what i was after, was very helpful.

Went in spent $600 on new equipment for my pc and what they recommend to find out after when putting it in it’s not even gonna use it’s full potential bc they recommend a worse motherboard

MSY used to be awesome. Since Umart took over, has gone down the drain. Grote st has nothing in stock. Sad really to what it has become.

MSY, Umart... Phone consultation constantly is misrepresenting our position with a purchase. 5000D Airflow of which we expected initially a complete case, 2 fans, hdd dock, side doors and vents. None of which are present which initially we thought it was a major failure in quality control until we backtracked on the order. There is 5000D Airflow and 5000D Core... Having previous expirience and ownership, we picked up one and did not know the mistake. They keep telling us we changed our minds, no, we made a mistake, when I bought mine, there was no 5000D airflow and did not expect this echonomy model. We have offered to pay a restocking fee, we have email correspondence and have intentions if MSY refuse to negotiate a solution for a mistake to take this up with theAustralian Business and Consumer Affairs. MSY has a history 2011 and 2017 approximately of missleading consumers about warrenties and there rights. A restocking fee means they can confirm the contents are contained and the unit is un-used and undamaged in the intrest of the business. MSY do not have good customer care, unless they are willing the negotiation of this situation, we will be taking further action in reflection of the history of the business and the lack of support in rectifying our personal miss judgement of the product. There are other companies upcoming trying to break into the industry which is highly competitive. I'm going to consider alternatives in future if MSY does not make improvements. PS: A pc case is not a motherboard, graphics card or other heavily considered electrical item. Can we please negotiate a solution before we are required to excelate? ACCC against MSY fined for missleading/missrepresenting warrenties and consumers. https://www.accc.gov.au/media-release/msy-technology-ordered-to-pay-penalties-of-750000-for-consumer-guarantee-misrepresentations

Great gear great staff and great prices 😁

I'm going to be brutally honest here. While they do have a range in their Adelaide store I was shocked from the moment I walked in. The place was an absolute mess and to be quite frank, disgusting. It was dusty and dirty and looked like no care had been put into the upkeep of the place at all. I understand some days can get busy, but the sort of mess that was around took far more than a day to acquire. If they care so little about the outward appearance and the area where customers are, it makes me wonder about how they treat all the computer components they sell that are stored where the customer is unable to see them.

I have used the click and collect system at MSY a couple of times and they always have it ready on time, the staff are friendly and helpful, definitely recommend this store.

Long time customer of MSY, now I am not. Their change of mind policy stinks. If your on a tight budget and item does not suit your build, they will not exchange it and you pay the difference of the item you like if it is more expensive. I am waiting for the refund so I can purchase the motherboard I like. Staff can not give credit on site, they must seek approval to exchange from head office.

great and friendly customer service, i had accidentally had ordered something by accident and they were very helpful with the refund. the order are prepared super quick too!

super friendly and helpful staff, thought my power supply had failed but staff figured out it was my ram and helped me figure out which ram it was, removed faulty sticks and didn’t charge me!

Had a PC made. Took a month to have it ready. 5 weeks after picking it up I had issues with it. Found that drivers had not been installed correctly.

Very disappointing. Website says In Stock at every stage of process. No email or contact to say order was cancelled. I had to call. Customer Service person friendly and efficient. Had to do PayPal dispute to actually get my refund. Will be telling everyone I cantelling all my fi

Went into the Gilles Plains store for an item. Was told the internet was down and they couldn’t supply any stock. I tried to engage regardless to see what my options were to replace my item. The two staff members on had zero interest in helping or offering alternatives. Was told, “go order it online”. Order what?” I was there for advice and you know, customer service”. Be better.

Poor communication and intimidation by a rude salesman. I explained my problem and was sold the wrong device. When I tried to bring it in to ask if I was using it wrong less than a day later, I was laughed at for not understanding how the technology works, was told I had bought the wrong device, and refused a refund for the item I was assured was right for my problem. After explaining how he had told me it was the right device, he said I was on CCTV footage from the previous day and he had a recording of me. He did not listen to my initial problem, then tried to initimidate me out of wanting a refund by telling me I had been recorded and I was not telling the truth.

Great local spot for all you need tech!!

Not worth buying from MSY. Worst return policy. Can’t upgrade the item purchased after I left the store because the package was opened. How is this policy acceptable in Australia.

Looks pretty shady from the outside and is a bit messy inside but the staff here are very helpful and clearly know what they are doing.

Staff were very helpful and we got what we were looking for :)

Terrible store, can't even return something that was opened less than 24hrs of purchase due to misinformation online, can't recommend

Over multiple years ordered many parts from here and still do every now and again. Pretty decent staff and make it easy to just simply get the parts and be done with it.

Top tier products great service, staff went over and above for what they needed to do. Would definitely recommend.

Top tier pc parts supplier in Adelaide. Very friendly and supportive customers service, with great techincal skills as well. Highly recommended! I was building my own pc and had some problems, but they helped found out and resolve it quickly.

Super helpful and great advice and prices

Good products at reasonable prices. They are generally quite knowledgeable and tend to err on the side of caution with their advice.

best cheapest pc place in Adelaide

Good store. I've done returns, pre-orders and walk-in purchases and always worked out well. It's not fancy, but it has good variety and great prices and that's perfect for me. For my last purchase I compared a cable from a big store which offered only one option at $75 while MSY had many options of lengths and qualities starting at $10. I found staff very helpful. Recently I emailed support for a copy of my tax invoice and within hours they sent it to me - amazing!

Not the best looking but best prices available over there. It reminds me BiLo or Cheap Food years ago

good service, quick delivery with click and collect, no complaints

wow, just got my pc build in the msy adelaide store, Tommy helped me from start to finished, best customer service at msy in awhile

fast and lovely service they help you to double-check everything

Great service and range of products

Service is non existent in this store I've walked out twice now .

Great place to buy computer parts if you know that you want. Limited advice etc. Service great.

Fast easy good

Absolutely recommend this place. They help me build my pc. They were very helpful and took all the time to explain to me everything.

Least interested staff

December 10th 2022 I put a $4000 computer in for warranty, the liquid cooling system pump died (basic warranty replacement), it is now the 13th April 2023 and I still do not have it fixed... My advice, SHOP ELSEWHERE if you want customer service or after sales support.

Rude staff, no actual in store stock - website is quite quick to say Adelaide City has stock - actually no, the warehouse has stock. Was told stock is for click and collect and not in their actual retail store - what a waste of an effort to be rudely told I was wrong. IF ITS IN THE WAREHOUSE ACTUALLY PUT IT IN YOUR STORE!! Retail store is not OHS safe, very dirty, dingy and shoud avoided if you actually want to buy things. Would recommend OHS audit by a third party, taping down carpet and having a lanyard to pull a door open is not actually safe.

(2023 edit) Rival stores have caught up somewhat on pricing and the MSY site sometimes redirects to Umart who are presumably the supplier. MSY are still the primary PC store for many - if not most - Adelaide residents, but the sheen has worn off the MSY brand. Online competition has crept up, especially stores who minmaxed their online presence during the Covid pandemic. Still the best choice, but they don't have such a commanding lead anymore. (Back to the old review) If you need a specific part be sure to go to the city store instead of Plympton if you're down south. The Plympton store frequently sells out, but most times you can order ahead. The exception is when they don't know the next delivery date and just sort of close the conversation. They've never been rude but I seem to just leave the city store in a better mood. Sometimes it's a good idea to drop in to the city anyway if you're close because they often have unadvertised sales on a few items each week or so. Some of the discounts can be quite substantial.

If not for the occasional friendly employee it would be 1 star. Store is basically the only computer parts store and I feel like they don't care cuz they know that. The phone machine makes it intentionally hard to use so you do all your buying online. And if I'm going online PC case gear is cheaper so idk why they do that. They only have a few options of each kind of part and the times I've gone in store Hoping for advice I've gotten mostly very short responses from staff that seemed like they just want in and out sales and no questions. IDK maybe they were busy but I do try and see the best in people and yet I've still come away from this place and the Holden hill store feeling burned

Checked online and confirm to have stock at shop, walks in ‘Sorry we are now transitioning online, just order there’ Waste of my bloody time

Bad service never ever!!!!!!

Terrible service. Showed a screenshot of an item to a worker with crutches. He yanked the phone out of my hands and said we have no stock and belittled me by saying I need to check “Adelaide stock” next time - in which I did and showed him. He rudely stated I need to click and collect and rudely waddled off with his crutches without explaining the process or offering an alternative product. If these are the business valued Msy represents and how they treat their customers I am deeply shocked. This was not acceptable and poor customer service. I ordered click and collect with a 1-2 hour guarantee at 9:50am and did not receive item till 5pm. I will not accept this as it’s too late - and I will apply for a refund. However, I will say the guy worker with the long hair is very polite. What a shame, one place has shut down in Adelaide, another 2 coming up.

Great supply of components for building a computer. As cheap, or cheaper than their competitors.

Good service and competitive pricing

Open Sundays.

Bought all parts from MSY but had some communication issues so my orders were delayed, the lads tried their best to assist so overall I'm happy. But in the end I had my system built at UMART (they're now under the same company) which was great.

Over priced

They have most of your needs. It's better to order through them online.

Great service, informative, fast and cost effective

Went in store to buy parts. Was informed that their systems and site was in the process of being updated so prices and stock levels may be inaccurate, which I was ok with. Was told to order online while in store so they could check if they had stock for it. After cross checking and ordering all the parts I wanted, I was told to come back in 30 mins. Came back and was informed most staff had gone on lunch break and to come back later. Came back 2-3 hours later and was told they didn’t have one of the parts and that we would have to wait till they got the parts (day after they said). Has been 5 days since and have tried to contact the store twice. Left on hold each time and reserved call backs. Never gota a return call and still have no clue what’s going on with the parts I ordered… I’m a long time customer too. Over 10 years…have bought my last 4 computers through them, plus other parts and recommended countless others..the last time I bought computer parts, I had the same issues too but let it go as a once off. And now it’s happened again…I think I’ll be changing my preferences of computer stores now since Adelaide has other competitors with comparable prices and much better and faster service. Ordered other computer parts from their competitors that the same day and got it 30 mins after ordering and yet I’m still waiting to even hear back from MSY after 5 days…

Friendly staff and plenty of choices. Parking and waiting can be issue at times.

A while ago as I'd been experimenting with 3D modelling/rendering and reached the maximum capabilities of the devices I had and wished to take it more seriously. As an artist with decent but nowhere near comprehensive understanding of computer hardware I decided the best option would be to seek help from professionals and purchase all the components for the computer I would need from the same store with guidance from the people in the know... well at least I thought they knew. Spent over $4000 on a rig and fairly quickly ran into some performance issues. Changed the way I was working to make less strain on the computer and was still running into issues and crashes. Spoke with the people at MSY again and they suggested I purchase more of the same RAM (another $180) to solve my problems. It made it MUCH worse. The computer started crashing at random intervals even while idling. I ran a lot of diagnostics to see if something was wrong and the only thing I could come up with is there must be some kind of compatibility problem with the components, the RAM and motherboard being the most likely culprits... Bear in mind i went to them in the beginning to avoid any of these problems. I visited the store again and brought the computer with me to discuss it and instead of addressing my questions about potential compatibility issues they went straight to booking the computer in for complete diagnostics, avoiding my questions entirely. 🙃 they were going to charge me another $300+ for something they messed up in the beginning and I was fairly certain I was right. I was also sure all they were going to do was run most of the same diagnostics I was already doing and trying out different RAM. After attempting to discuss the possibility of RAM incompatibility a few times with no attempt on their part to rectify the situation or even provide me with information I left. Went to a different computer systems store, spoke to a worker there that checked for compatibility problems online and picked out different RAM for me. Took it home and installed it. Not a problem since. Although MSY has decent prices, just bear in mind you're on your own when it comes to researching the correct components. You basically have to do their job for them in which case you're better off buying your components elsewhere. Or visit another store that knows a thing or two about customer service and being an effective technician.

Great range of products fair pricing

Best tech gear at best prices and good service a place to fluff about surrounded by little tech gadgets and a place to DIY and build a custom machine

Fantastic computer store, and about the only place in Adelaide still stocking heaps of computer parts. The staff there were incredibly knowledgeable! They assisted in getting the parts I needed, and it was all reasonably priced! Couldn’t recommend a better store for computer parts and computer building.

Don't waste your time with them I rang about a M.SPEC PREDATOR V2 RX 6600 GAMING SYSTEM - AMD witch is advertised on their website for $1,299.00 I was willing to pay cash the guy on the phone was rude insits I pay 50 % online before they would build it and told me they charge extra for it to be build ontop of the advertised price they are clearly not a company worth doing business with im going to back Umart for my computer parts and repairs . Replying to there response, there was no miscommunication the guy on the phone at Holden Hill said you don't take cash the 50% payment has to be done online ive already gone elsewhere and got a better computer

Good prices, I have purchased alot of parts from here. Just a long wait.

Yeah nah.

Best place to grab a few upgrades. Fast, friendly and efficient service. Always happy to talk about stuff to get the right stuff.

Good service
