The beach webcam is fantastic! I can see before driving down to the bay if it's windy and how calm the water is. Then I decide on bringing the kayak down for a paddle! Meals are reasonably priced in the restaurant and always delicious. Thanks for the web cam!

The Dendy beach cam is the best visibility of the water to check for swimming in the morning. I’ve not seen any other cameras around the bay that have the clarity. Thanks for having it. Really appreciated!

Love this web cam, have it on one of my monitors during the day so it looks like I have a nice view while working :-) Staff are always so responsive if I email about it, would be lost without it!! Is great checking out what the weather is beside the bay before I go for a run or ride, or see who else is out. Thank you for this community service.

It was an amazing experience to stay at Brighton Savoy. I was there for 2 weeks in July of 2019 on a business-cum-personal visit from Canada.

The hotel is so well situated for this beach cam. Having this service allows us to see the up to date conditions before we decide to go to the beach and do wind surfing. It is also a great live weather check. Thank you for this community service.

What a nasty horrible place. Dirty rooms. Small dark and dingy. Rude arrogant staff. Don’t waste your money. A park bench would be better.

I never got to stay at the Savoy while it was still operating as a hotel but recently we spent some time there shooting scenes for an upcoming TV series. Owner managers Jenny and Michael were super helpful and accomodating for all our requests and I can really recommend the Savoy as an excellent filming location. Thankyou!

Wir wurden leider sehr enttäuscht. Wir hatten für den Winter 2020/2021 eine Australienreise gebucht und das Brighton Savoy als familiengeführtes Hotel bewusst direkt und nicht über eine Booking-Plattform gebucht. Dies erforderte eine Vorauszahlung. Wegen Corona konnten wir nicht reisen - das Hotel wäre eh geschlossen gewesen - und wir nahmen Kontakt für eine Rückerstattung auf. Sie baten um Geduld wegen der angespannten Liquiditätslage, wofür wir grosses Verständnis hatten. Letztlich vertrösteten sie uns immer wieder. Das letzte Versprechen war eine Rückerstattung nach 12 Monaten ununterbrochener Betriebstätigkeit. Dies war im Oktober 2022 der Fall - und seither reagiert die Familie nicht mal mehr auf meine E-Mails. Dieses Vorgehen ist hochgradig unprofessionell und unser Vertrauen in privat geführte Hotels hat einen nachhaltigen Schaden erlitten.

One star is one too many! My husband booked us a room for after our wedding day to allow us to get away for a couple of nights. We originally booked in 2021, however due to covid had to reschedule/cancel. The booking policy allowed full refund. We finally rebooked our wedding in 2022 and my husband reached out to the hotel to reschedule the accomodation and received an auto reply that they were fully booked for that night. He tried to call a number of times but no answer. We then forgot for a couple of months and when I have tried to call and email again still no response and no answer. I finally decided to drive to the hotel and found it all shut up and no one there. Now there’s a for sale sign out the front! What a waste of $500+ to support a local business. I guess we should never have trusted them when we cancelled. Reading through these reviews they have replied to some people that all booking were contacted and offered refund. We were never contacted, what a joke!!

Thank you so much for providing such a warm and safe place for me to land and unravel. I was very fearful of what to expect but the Refocus team and beautiful surroundings were more than I could have hoped for. After feeling so out of control for so long it was such a relief to realise that I was not alone and to meet others who had been feeling the same and grappling with similar issues. For the first time in years I’ve started to trust that there is help and solutions for me and am establishing relationships that I know can, and will support me going forward.

Unbeatable views.

I can see by reading the reviews on here that we aren't the only people that have lost money to this business. We booked 3 rooms for a date in August 2021 and before l paid l checked their refund policy and was guaranteed a refund if we went back into lock down. When we went back into lockdown l called to request a refund but was told they were only doing credits at that time. I wasn't happy with a credit but didn't argue because l understood they were doing it tough. I just called today to book another date only to be told they are permanently closed. I asked the guy who answered the phone if l could get a refund and was told No". I then asked him so you are telling me l have lost my money and he told me "Yes". Reading their replies on some of these reviews they are saying they have sent emails and refunded money. I haven't got an email or my money."

The people that run this place have absolutely no empathy and have made themselves look like victims of the pandemic...as if others didn't/aren't going through the same issue/s. they have robbed so many people of their hard earned money for what is meant to be a special day. they've held on to deposits for services that they cannot provide and have blamed it on the pandemic, and yet are looking to start a new business. True con artists. I can't ever look at this place or its owners the same again. utterly disgusting it gives me great comfort that so many people are starting to take legal actions against this place. it's only fair that they acknowledge what they've done and return people's money. I do not recommend this place or any other businesses ran by the same owners....look them up and do your research.

Absolutely disgusting how they have ruined my sisters wedding! Cancelled the booking kept the deposit money (still waiting for refund) and think it's totally OK. I would never recommend this place and really hope someone can come in and fix this place as it is in shambles

After 5 phone calls and 8 emails with no response I really have no other choice. Taking peoples money, no communication and the lack of care when they decided to “change their business venture” from weddings has been a disgrace. Don’t be fooled - NO ONE has responded to me. Not even a scripted reply. I would appreciate our $3k deposit being given back considered they required and additional deposit for a bee date during a pandemic and they are able to open again for weddings. Not our responsibility to be funding their next business adventure. Thoroughly disappointing and quite frankly deceitful. Shame on you!

DO NOT GIVE THIS BUSINESS YOUR TIME OF DAY. 1 star is being far beyond generous. As 0 stars is not an option for anything! If for whatever reason you desperateLy need to use this “establishment” please take the time to read through all the reviews yourself so you know what you are in for. They have tried to push down and hide all of the negative reviews over the years with lots of over the top fake 5 star reviews. But don’t be fooled. Be sure you filter to show “most recent” and or “lowest score” reviews first. Read the cancelation policies carefully. You will not receive any kind of refund if you are even slightly unhappy with anything. This family are nothing but scammers and thieves. This business is not worth a single cent of your hard earned money. The government really needs to intervene because no hotel establishment or any establishment that is being run like this should be allowed to be open to the public. #ShutDownBrightonSavoy

Hotel has decided to take a personal political stance in regards to reopening once 80/80 vaccination levels have been reached and cancelled our wedding and won't refund us our money. Beware of this hotel, they don't care about anyone except themselves I would hate for anyone else to have this experience. DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS HOTEL accommodation or events! Edit to add: the hotel has since refunded us but has asked we delete/change our reviews. I do not feel this is appropriate as this is my honest review of the hotel. They sent out emails initially stating no changes, refunded or reschedule of dates. You ignored all correspondence from us until there was heat on you with channel 7 and channel 9 and then you suddenly decide to refund us. The stress and anxiety of all of this has been extreme. $4000 was not something I could just loose and what's worse is you don't seem to care, you care more about your image. Had you handled this all differently the Brighton Savoy might be in a very different position.

Our wedding (scheduled for March 2022) was cancelled by the venue however they refused to refund our deposit until we approached the Media. Sadly, we are only one of many couples in this situation! The owner is citing Government restrictions for the closure however they happily accepted our deposit during the pandemic and held it for three weeks (initially stating that it wouldn’t be returned) after notifying us of the cancellation, before finally refunding it. Communication was poor at best, and I certainly would like to avoid any further dealings with this company.

Avoid this place at all cost! They took deposits from friends for weddings, then closed permanently without notice, but as yet have not provided refunds for so many people who paid deposits. Do not support them or give them your money.

The absolute worst - I do not know how these people are able to walk around everyday with their heads held high. Disgusting treatment of customers, no word, no refunds. Foul play.

I wouldn't book with them after what they have done

Can't really comment about my stay as they have shut up shop without returning peoples wedding deposits, including ours. There is a back story here if you read between all their poor me interviews and posts.

Cancelled our wedding on 6 weeks notice and refused to refund our deposit. Now not returning phone calls or emails. Absolutely disgraceful. Would rather post anti-vax propaganda than engage with the clients that they are ripping off.

They have cancelled all weddings, refusing to refund the couples their deposits, also refusing to refund rooms myself and other guests have booked!! Contracted to host a wedding at the end of this year, has decided to not host the wedding anymore, and keep all the money that was paid, including guests who were going to stay for the night. Horrible company, don’t care about their customers. The Brighton Savoy is a stunning Bayside gem, with incredible staff and divine food. Highly recommend this beautiful venue to anyone looking for a wedding venue, an event space, a delicious dining experience or somewhere to stay and enjoy the all the luxuries. Couldn’t recommend The Brighton Savoy enough!
