Bar and bistro nicely decked out with a great menu

A group of us had a very nice and relaxed group dinner on a Fri night.

快適でした！ 清潔な部屋。にこやかなスタッフ。最高のロケーション。タウンホールすぐ。大きなスーパー、酒屋さんも同じブロック。 難点は、唯一、初見のわかりにくさ。バーのカウンターで、ホテルの客だよと伝えねばならない点。ここさえクリアでければ、最高のホテルです。 チェックアウト後の荷物預かりもok。ただし、14:00までの制限がありました。 おすすめです。

Not a large hotel - in fact the entrance is easy to miss, as it is next door to a bar entrance - maybe 10 rooms on each of 4 floors, but the best part is it in walking distance of many attractions - Hyde Park, 5 min or less, Sydney Botanical Gardens - about 15 min walk to it, but can take an hour or two to explore it, maybe even longer, 30 min to Sydney Opera House, 25 min to Circular Quay and the Wharfs to take you to other places such as Bondi Beach or Manly, or...., 20 to 25 min to Darling Harbour. Service was good - we did not eat at the hotel, so can't say about it, but the cleaning, bar and hotel staff were great! The room was small, but clean and comfortable. The bed was too soft for me personally, as the bed sagged toward the head, as it appeared that people like me sit up in bed to watch TV or read, so the main body weight is near the headboard, and hence, that area dips down more when sleeping. My wife falls asleep in just about any kind of bed, shape or lack of firmness, but I find it difficult to do. Fortunately we did a lot of sightseeing in the almost 3 full days we were there (and there is a LOT to see). ❤️👍😀

We wanted to use the bathroom and then have a drink, we asked the security guy in advance, the moment we stepped our foot in, a chubby Asian lady said “this is not a public toilet”, without knowing that we’d have a drink after that, she didn’t even care to ask. We didn’t appreciate the service. At around 2 am

To a fellow hospitality worker. I just finished work and needed to use a rest room as one wasnt vacant at the time. Pedro the security guard wasn't very nice about the situation and made me feel like I wasn't human. His attitude and understanding wasn't someone who'd have as a guard . I wouldn't take my business here unfortunately.

Good place for a few quiet drinks

We just had a short visit there while in the city. It's within walking distance to darling harbour, so it doesn't feel too bad to walk after a flight. The staff were friendly. The room was clean and had what we needed. It is adjoined to a pub but other than going to the pub to check in had no issues with it. Coverall was a pleasant stay in the city :)

Great location. Room small but who cares when there is so much exploring . Restaurant and bar are great. Staff is also great. Located next to a Woolworths and kitty corner to the Victoria bldg. Very close to all transportation.

Right at city center, super convenient! TV got internet so can stream many things which is nice as well!

My partner and i stayed at Hotel Coronation January 2025. The stay has been fantastic. On arrival Travis meet us and went through all we needed to know including a 10% discount at the bar and in the restaurant upstairs. The location is in the middle of busy Sydney, Hyde Park at the end of the road, Oprah house, The Rocks etc are a 25 min walk. The room is tidy, clean and house cleaning comes every day. It is well worth 5 stars for the price we paid however i gave the room 4 stars as it is aged but fine. If i ever come to Sydney again i would definitely stay here again. Well done to management and staff for making a great effort to run your business well.

Coronation is most nearest pub from Townhall station and open till 4am. But after midnight, the security staff is always bad behavior and arrogant attitude for customers. My friends always say that the security at this pub is bad. It's s nice pub, so I think it could prosper if the security staff had a good attitude and sociability.

When your man at the door tries to stare down females, sober just finished work females and advises them they don't allow anyone in after 1am, which is a lie because we often went there after work nightshift, they need to replace their man. First impressions matter

Nice room, very clean - soft beds. The person who checked me in was very friendly, and explained everything nicely. Not too noisy with the traffic and it’s very central to everything

Excellent place to stay when heading out to catch a band. Comfy bed, very clean room and ensure. Great place for drinks and meals are generous and tasty.

Perfect location if you like friend pub where the volume is not to loud. It’s great as you can here all your friends when they talk!!

Very Central to all amenities very close to the trams and the train station lots of shops close by. Hotel room very very clean very good service clean towels and bedding toiletries Included.The only downside was you could hear noise from other rooms, but it was quiet after 11 pm

Room was tiny with no storage space, only lattice against the wall and 2 coat hangers. The shower floor was not tiled and had the nasty plastic bottom reminiscent of caravan showers. No exhaust fan in the bathroom. Otherwise clean and well serviced. The Basta restaurant was short a chef so only pizzas available. Breakfast took a long time to arrive and was cold. The staff were very friendly but constant confusion as to what was included in my booking package.

Loved this hotel. Lovely old building but a modern room. The room was basic but comfortable with everything you needed for a short stay. The bed was very comfortable. The best feature of this hotel was the location, as everything you needed was a very short walk away. There is a woolworths supermarket and Big W 1 minute away, train stations and light rail 2 mins away as well as a westfield and several other shops and cafes and restaurants all just a short walk away, not to mention some beautiful historical buildings and beautiful parks just around the corner. The staff were also very welcoming and helpful. I wouldn't bother looking for anywhere else to stay next time, as I couldn't be happier with this place.

Good, central accommodation.

Walked in and was refused a glass of water because I wasn't a paying customer. Reminded them that they are obliged to serve water regardless and was still refused. Met a friend about two hours later who won $750 and we decided not to go to your venue and visit elsewhere. Let this be a reminder to you.

You guys have the worst security in Sydney. I’m a chef that works in the area and 4 outta every 5 times I try to come to your establishment, someone in my party is not allowed in for intox, even though we all just finished work and have only had 1 or 2 beers. Do better.

Got refused entry because I said I don't drink and they asked what I was going in there for, I said just drink some water, to see what the place is like because it's my first time, and to maybe to talk to some people. I was also physically pushed many metres for no reason. I would appreciate if the licensee tells what I did wrong and explain the situation?

Great location, close to everything.

Hotel location was super good in the downtown, easy to walk every attractions, service and hygiene was good.

Possibly the worst pub in Sydney. Dirty, flying insects all through the bar, Expensive prices on food and drinks, over $13 a pint of beer and they consistently refuse to change anything in a dish to accommodate someone with food allergies. When I asked if they could please leave prawns out of a pasta carbonara I was told no and that the chef won't change his recipe even though I explained im allergic to prawns. Obviously all the food is pre cooked and just reheated. Edit* I am currently banned from the pub and bottle shop due to this negative and accurate review. Ive always been polite and friendly when I have been in this Venue. The manager Larry is the one who is always making trouble for anyone he doesn't like, one little bit of constructive criticism and you are banned lol. Save yourself the trouble and avoid the Coronation Hotel. Absolutely worst pub in Sydney

Just your average city boozer

The room is clean and quiet except the floor is wooden base which may causes noise. The lift is tiny, max loading is 3 person. Best location with train station just 5 minutes walk. Highly recommended.

This was our third time at Hotel Coronation in as many weeks. We love the hotel, staff, food, ambience.. everything! Our new local for Friday lunch and drinkies (anytime). Big shout out to Breanna!!

I spent a week at the hotel to attend a conference in Sydney. The location is central and close to Town Hall station. The room was clean and the bed was very comfy. It’s a little noisy in the city although it didn’t bother me much.

This place is absolutely ridiculous. I went last week and the service they provide is zero. I recommend everyone not to come here in their whole life. Thank you.

Had a great stay here, the staff were friendly and inviting. Great location and very reasonably priced. A big shout out to Travis, your friendly helpful way with us made all the difference.

While we only stayed for one night, we would happily stay here again. The location was brilliant! Close to Train, light rail, Buses, Queen Victoria Building etc…the hotel has Woolworths on one side and a chemist on the other. Dining on site, though we did not have time, it looked good. Lovely little pub on the ground floor. I thought it might be noisy, but even though we had a street facing room, I had a good sleep in the comfy bed. We had one of the smaller rooms, by choice, but if staying longer than a couple of nights, you may want more room. It was very clean.

Only stayed for the weekend but the hotel had Excellent Location, Comfortable rooms with good housekeeping, Great customer service, especially by Travis, the manager who held my hotel reservation after my flight to Sydney was cancelled during the 2023 mid year mass cancellation of flights around Sydney and Travis allowed me to save my reservation for the year 2024. I give big credits to the manager Travis. I would come back if I go on another weekend trip to Sydney.

Hotel location is super convenient, just opposite QVB and walkable to Town Hall and Museum train stations. Cleanliness was ok, not too expect too much but the staff are friendly and helpful.

Not much facilities in the hotel but the hotel is very near to metro and shopping areas and places of interest. Very good location. However, the sound proofing of the room isn't very good as I can hear the cars and noises from the road in the room.

One of the best hotel experiences I've had. They had a turn down service every day, with fresh towels for every morning. The rooms were clean. The staff was both friendly and helpful. They exceeded my expectations on every count and, were reasonably priced as well. They helped make my week vacation to Sydney exceptional.

I loved this place when we stayed five years ago, and I love it even more now that they've made a few upgrades. The location is perfect, surrounded by amenities and a stone's throw from the train. Good food at the pub and the new first-floor bistro. Comfortable beds, excellent shower. Rooms were serviced beautifully. Friendly, helpful staff.

Looovveedddd the location of Hotel Coronation. I think this factor itself already made our holiday in Sydney a very pleasant one. No breakfast provided as it is a very basic hotel, but we grab ourselves something everyday easily since Woolworths was just next door. And not to mention all the sandwiches and wraps and salad stores in the underground of Townhall train station leading up to 2 malls, QVB and The Galleries. We loved all of the options compare to a same breakfast buffet usually offered by hotel. |Customer service also top notch here. You will always be greeted by friendly faces ready to assist or answer your questions. From the manager and front desk to the cleaning lady. Thank you Travis, Danny. We hope to stay in Coronation Hotel again if we ever find ourselves back in Sydney!

After checking the reviews, I realize I wasn't the only one who has experience rudeness from the staff.

여기는 위치다 다했습니다. 바로 앞에 시청, 퀸 빅토리아 빌딩, 헝그리 잭스버거, 트램, 트레인, 버스, 울월스, 케미스트 등등…..까지 최고의 위치이며 15년차 한국인(사장님이신지 잘 모르겠습니다)이 계십니다. 심지어 24시간 바와 주류판매점을 가지고 있습니다(호주에선 주류는 따로 판매하는 곳이 있습니다)

This hotel in Sydney CBD offers good value for the price. The location is excellent, and the room is decent. The manager, Travis/Trevor, was helpful in explaining the rules and assisting with planning our stay. However, the hotel has a strict policy feel, with specific rules around air conditioning, lights, and amenities. Wifi connection is quite poor. While room service is available, the bar staff, particularly Lowry and Beep, were unhelpful. Overall, it's a decent option for the location, but be prepared for a more regimented experience.

Great location older hotel. Not much in terms of tv channels

To be honest I am so disappointed with the staff and team there. The named Andy guy is rude and he is so poor in communication. All in all I will suggest not to go this place.

Unskilled people, poor team and poor management

What I recommend people is not to go this place if you really want good customer service and well behaviour towards you. This place lack sense of everything. In fact this place should be named “Senseless&Brainless Hotel” I don’t know how someone can open hotel like this where there is no customer satisfaction. Poor team and unmannerd staff.

Eww🤮this place really sucks. The way they welcome and the way they treat is not acceptable. I think the owner will soon close this hotel soon cause of their staff brhaviour and especially that guy named Andy. This Andy should be kicked out and I suggest everyone not to come this place.

Worst experience ever!!! I think he said his name was Andy i have never seen a manager that was so rude. I was there at Saturday around at 4 AM after I finished my work. I work in a hospitality as well and that’s not how you treat a customer, he accused me and my friend with so many misdeed that we have not committed. He didn’t wanted to listen to anything we say!!!! Well located, although personally slightly bored Looking staff and unfortunately service, to me is important. I don't believe I'd return...Only in my opinion personally. Probably reason the place is empty. Although I appreciate Heineken is served in bottle.. 🙏

New owners have changed the menu. Pity the old menu and wine list worked better for us. Now just run of the mill pub food with no interesting dishes. Probably why it seems quieter ...

A shame really. The coro is my local. I enjoy the night staff, and the vibe as it reminds me of home. I came on the 14th of April, and the elder guy who is Australian treated me quite rudely. I asked a question about the food, and he replied what is on the menu you will have. After, I ordered my drink and went to my table. I turned around and saw the Australian guy and the short guy with a moustache laughing at me. I do not think there was a reason to laugh as I did nothing wrong, so I instantly thought it was because I am gay. I drank my drink quickly and left. I hope the manager will be able to speak to them and tell them no matter their opinions, customer service exists.

Excellent location as just doorstep away from Town hall station. All eatery places just at doorstep. woolworth and BigW is next building. Rooms are bit compact but good for a single person stay, hotel is non-smoking. Toiletries and coffee machine provided.

For dinner, we went to the Parks Street Bar & Bistro (which is located in the Hoyel), and my god was it amazing. Best schnitzel ever! The staff were super nice as well. I definitely recommend it.
