Stayed four nights at this beautiful place for our daughter’s birthday. We loved it . Rooms were clean , breakfast was great and most of all lovely staff . Big shoutout to the amazing Manager Locki who was very helpful , understanding , friendly and mindful . He made our daughter’s birthday extra special . Thanks to all , we would love to stay again .

I had problems with reception checkin and checkout, with some details of my package not in their system. Aside from that, my stay was wonderful. The room was spacious and had all amenities I needed. Bed was very comfortable, and view over the marina is lovely. The huge lagoon pool with a sandy beach is awesome . I particularly appreciated plenty of shade over the beach loungers. Nice to have the marine village so close, with really nice restaurants and a good range of shops. I will be back.

We stayed for only two nights, but my family enjoyed our entire stay. I just want to express my appreciation to Cedric from FNB—he definitely made our stay feel secure and ensured we had everything we needed. As a father, it is very important to me that my family is having the best time and staying safe. He truly demonstrated what 5-star hotel service is all about. Staff were very helpful & lovely overall experience

We stayed at the Sanctuary Cove Resort QLD for the Australian Home Staging Conference and had an excellent experience. The service, food, facilities and our room were fantastic. Clean and well equiped with quality inclusions. There are also nearby restaurants and an IGA which we found convenient. If you’re looking for a hotel for a professional event or just a relaxing getaway, this is the place to be. We highly recommend. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Me and my family booked in yesterday and within 3 hours we checked out. The rooms are outdated and old. The facilities are really run down. Definitely not a 5 star facility. Very disappointing.

Reception staff very helpful and efficient

Hotel itself is gorgeous, both 2 swimming pools offer stunning views, food at club lounge has higher quality compared to other IC we stayed in Australia. Room was clean with lovely Harbour view, and I really appreciated the bottle of sparkling left at room for us to celebrate, you can also easily find kangaroo in the resort, which was pretty cute. Big shout out to Roxy at club lounge, she went beyond and above, definitely made us felt welcomed, it was a pleasure to know her, thank you. Also lovely to know Jessica who severed us breakfast the last day at club lounge. We would love to give 5/5 or 10/10 before checking out, we can see hotel’s effort trying to create a memorable experience for the guests. I even discussed with my partner when we should book our next stay and would like to recommend this resort to friends, then this racist behavior happened just ruined all the effort other staff trying to make, also our holiday… Your staff N at reception refused to have any eye contact with me during checking out, even the booking and the card details were all under my name. She even said thank you for being a loyal member with us to my partner (he’s white and my last name is Wang). She communicated with my partner (white) all the time, I tried to communicate with her by answering her questions, but again I got no response or eye contact, it made me uncomfortable already. I asked her what the last 4 digits of the card will be charged, again she answered the question looking at her screen and choosing to avoid looking at me. Your staff tried avoiding any forms of communication with me, this behavior made me uncomfortable, I don’t want to continue communicating with her, we also had schedules to follow, we left your hotel around 11:30AM on 4th February. I suggested hotel to check the camera at the reception so they can have a better understanding of what happened, this incident occurred around 11:20AM on 4th February. Here’s racism definition you can find on google: Racism includes all the laws, policies, ideologies and barriers that prevent people from experiencing justice, dignity, and equity because of their racial identity. It can come in the form of harassment, abuse or humiliation, violence or intimidating behaviour. I was treated very differently during the checkout. I have sent complaint email to info, IHG guest relations and CC’d hotel GM before writing a review. Unfortunately the response I got from hotel was unsatisfactory, no reasonable explanation given or even mentioned. I have stayed with IHG group in different countries over the years, no matter it’s Holiday Inn/resort/express, Crown plaza, VOCO, hotel Indigo, Intercontinental or Regent. I am extremely unsatisfied with your staff and my checkout experience at Intercontinental Sanctuary Cove. I will reconsider my further booking with IHG.

We have stayed a couple of times now. Each time we have been delighted with the level of service, attentiveness, and friendliness from the staff here. The location is tranquil, just what we need, and the accommodation is lovely.

The high tea & twilight cocktails were so special as was the service we received. The pools were so inviting & irresistible.Our room excellent. The venue for my son & wife reception was excellent, however the over catering of the buffet food was disappointing hopefully it was able to be donated to the needy.

Stayed here for my birthday. The room wasn't ready when we arrived, so we were told we could leave our bags at the concierge, and they would bring them to our room and call us when it was ready. We roamed around but never received a call, even hours later. So, we went back to the front desk and spoke to another staff member, who told us the room was ready—they had just forgotten to call us. When we arrived at our room, our bags weren’t there, so we had to go back again to get them. Our room was at the far end of the resort, which was very annoying. The room itself was alright—a bit dated but clean. Nothing special. The pools were great, honestly the best part of our stay. Our room includes breakfast, and the spread was decent but a bit cramped. The options weren’t the best, and I’ve had better, but I did like the area where you could make your own fresh juice. Overall, this hotel didn’t really feel like a five-star hotel and wasn't worth the money we paid at all. It’s good for families and those playing golf, but i wish we spent the weekend somewhere else.

Fantastic place too stay,away from it all

Unfortunately the service and resort is not reflective of the normal intercontinental standards. Resort is looking tired and not well maintained and staff young and inexperienced as an Ambassador member who stays at intercontinental throughout the world was a little disappointed with cut backs and service levels.

Best at sanctuary cover

I had high expectations for a five-star hotel, but my experience was disappointing. The TV remote didn’t work, and when I called the front desk for assistance, no one answered. The shower water pressure was too weak, and although the bathroom had a dry-wet separation, water still leaked out and made the floor wet. To make matters worse, there were mosquitoes in the room. I hope the hotel can address these issues to improve the guest experience.

The intent of this trip was to have some much needed rest & relaxation after a busy year. My daughter and I stayed here and absolutely loved it. The resort was perfect for us. The whole venue was amazing. Loved the beach vibe at the lagoon, lush garden surrounds was like an oasis. Service was excellent; staff were so accommodating to our requests. The upgrade to the lagoon suite was so appreciated. Highly recommend Fireplace restaurant - food was great. Cafe food was a little hit & miss but otherwise good. This was a memorable stay and will definitely be back! Thank you.

Great location. Rooms mediocre for the money, our plantation shutters did not close properly and the light in the morning woke us up. No cable TV. Great lagoon pool.

My favorite place in Gold Coast

We absolutely loved our mini break at the Intercontinental Sanctuary Cove. Everyone was warm and welcoming and facilities amazing. The reception staff and entrance to the resort was fantastic. Breakfast in The Cove was amazing and filled with variety. Highly recommend trying the Mezz platter and drinks at the bar and lunch at the Lagoon Cafe by the pool. Thank you again and we will be back for our next visit.

I had a wonderful stay at InterContinental Sanctuary Cove, and every moment was truly delightful. One of the highlights of my visit was the exceptional service at the Verandah Restaurant & Bar. Vik was incredibly professional and attentive, taking the time to ask about our preferences before recommending a wine that perfectly suited our tastes. He explained the nuances of each option with such warmth and expertise, making the experience both enjoyable and memorable. The overall atmosphere of the hotel was serene and luxurious, and every staff member we encountered contributed to making our stay exceptional. I would absolutely love to return in the future and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing and high-quality getaway.

We booked in for 2 nights as a mini-break for the family. We have a 7 and 8 year old child. I have to say from the moment we arrived the service was absolutely top-notch. Adam the concierge was fabulous and just great with the kids. He filled us in about the hotel, what to expect and what to do. We were a little early for check-in, but that also wasn't a problem. In fact during our stay I quickly realized that nothing was a problem for the staff here. The staff are incredible, from front desk, to wait staff at the restaurants, to the house keeping and grounds staff, everyone had a smile as they went about their business. The other striking feature are the grounds, it really is beautiful, and with Kangaroos bouncing around all over the place its a real treat for the kids. Speaking of kids, I was a bit worried that this wouldn't be a kid friendly place, but I couldn't have been ,more wrong. The kids loved the place, spending most of their waking hours in the lagoon, the pool or the spa. They loved movie night in the Ballroom, which was a lovely touch for the school holidays. I would definitely recommend adding the buffet breakfast to your booking. It was a real treat and the kids (and adults) very much enjoyed it. There is a fantastic selection of food and beverage, including a barista coffee service serving great coffee! We had dinner at the Verandah Bar & Restaurant one night, and arrived quite late (after movie night) but the staff made us feel welcome even though I felt a bit bad about it being nearly closing time. The food was excellent, the servings were generous (including the kids pasta which may as well have been an adult serving!). We didn't try the grown-ups restaurant (The Fireplace) as it wasn't really suitable with the kids in tow, but if you are their on your own, it looked very nice. The rooms were very nice, and from our balcony we could watch kangaroos lounging about. It was lovely walking the paths around the resort as the rooms are all located away from the amazing main reception and restaurants, but as there are also lots of golf buggy's getting around driven by the staff it is easy to get a ride if you prefer. We had them drop us down in the town one night to go for dinner and walk around Sanctuary Cove village which is only a short walk away. In summary I would highly recommend IHG Sanctuary Cove to anyone looking for a great place to stay, especially with kids in tow. We are already looking forward to our next visit!

The outlook of the Verandah Bar was very traditional. Presenting the exquisite whiskeys with comfort sitting for sips and chats. The cocktails were amazing but what added a touch was Rish's knowledge of whiskeys. Had an amazing time and will definitely be back!

A very lovely and well designed resort with a focus on families with kids that may not be an ideal spot for couples. We mostly enjoyed our stay here however there were small issues with restaurant operation we didn’t expect which saw us walking to the restaurants close by for food

This was our second stay at this lovely resort and we couldn't be happier. The rooms are always clean, spacious and have a very nice vibe to them. The king lagoon view room has an absolutely spectacular view. The rooms always have enough lighting to do make up and have ample space. WE EVEN GO A ROOM UPGRADE DUE TO AVAILABILITY AND IT BEING OUR HONEYMOON!!! :DWe are planning on going back at least once a year.

Most of the staff were amazing, Veronica in particular made our stay so special. |The hotel looks beautiful at night with all the lights lit up. My family enjoyed the facilities and the service. |Only thing is the room had mould on the ceiling and in the bathroom and the food menu could do with a little more variety but other than that we loved our stay and we will definitely be back.

Had a fabulous buffet breakfast. The staff goes out of their way to help. The range of food was excellent, we're locals and were wondering why we hadn't visited before. Cheers to the chef for his service and friendliness. Lovely spot to have a wander after breakfast, and you'll probably see kangaroos near the pool and in the resort.

We only went to the wave pool, and the Lagoon Beach bar. This outside bar area overlooks the beach and the large swimming pool. You could either camp on the beach or sit on the patio while enjoying cocktails. It's a great day out for the family.

Outstanding customer service and surprising above and beyond touches that exceeded our expectations. I could not fault this place in any way. The pool and happy hour drinks were a highlight as well as the 5 star food and beverage quality and service everywhere in the resort. We felt very special and will definitely stay again.

We stayed for a couple of nights before Christmas, and firstly I want to say that the staff and service was exceptional considering the resort was absolutely packed. Food and drinks came out quickly, with a smile and there were always attendants on hand for help. The reception experience though is average - especially for what they say is a 5-star resort (I think they’re clinging to these stars for dear life…) no one to help with bags, no one at the doors to greet, when we got their our room wasn’t ready and we had to call back to reception 3 times to check. As top tier member, we were upgraded to a club suite which was lovely - but when I asked what the club benefits for, they said, oh no it just says club room but because you’re upgraded you don’t actually get that…. Que?! We’ve stayed at countless IHG hotels worldwide and if you’re upgraded to a club status room then you got those benefits. I found this incredibly stingy, especially with my tier status. The resort is very large and very old, they’ve done well to maintain it but realistically it’s not 5 star… overall a good stay, our mistake going in peak holiday period, staff attentive but I would say a solid 4 star stay which makes you feel that the value isn’t there for what you pay. Would recommend for families ONLY! Don’t come here for a Romantic couples weekend away.

I stayed at 7 properties from IHG for 3 weeks travel and this property seems all staffs are well recognizing true hospitality. Some other IHG hotels made mistake, such as double or triple charge to my credit card and missing my food order, and staffs look tired all time. However, in InterContienetal Sanctury Cove, all staffs are always smiling and looks they enjoy their job. Every staff performed fast and friendly with high accuracy. I really want to recommend this hotel to my family and friends and will revisit soon.

We've stayed here a number of times over the last few years, and this is probably the best stay we've had. The service was excellent, special note to the room cleaning staff for room 354 who were always smiling and happy to cater to any request. We had in-room dining for breakfast and dinner and the quality of the food was excellent. The steak was a stand-out, perfectly cooked and delicious, as was the breakfast. The room service delivery was very fast too which is impressive considering the property appeared full on the weekend. Despite being full, there were plenty of sun loungers available by the pools and the staff at the poolside bar did a great job of keeping the drinks flowing. The only small improvement would be that there was a bit of wear and tear on the outside of the building (small amounts of rust on the roof and the balcony dividers) but nothing that couldn't be solved with a coat of paint. All-in-all a great stay.

We are two seniors who live locally, and splurged on a two day luxury Christmas break and degustation Christmas lunch. The service, the breakfasts and the Christmas lunch were excellent and well worth the splurge, and if that was the only factor in the rating I would give it 5 stars. But the rooms were another matter. At an average price of $745 per night (with breakfast) for a King Classic Garden View room, we fully expected 5-star quality accommodation, particularly as it was an InterContinental hotel. What we got was a tired 3-star motel-style room with prominent flaws and at the bottom of several flights of stairs. The carpet was worn and curled up, which we immediately tripped over and then had to sit the trash bin over to hold it down for the rest of our stay. The patio door was stuck, and for the first day and a half couldn't be opened until it was serviced by the cleaner. The room was very poorly lit, with one light that wouldn't work until we pulled it out of its extension lead and plugged it directly into a socket; and another light that flickered if you touched the cord. The TV was restricted to the free to air channels. It felt more like a very cheap motel room rather than what we expected from a top-tier 5 star hotel. Other, more expensive rooms may well have been value for money, but I could not recommend staying in one of these ground level Garden View rooms unless the price was heavily discounted. Too bad. Won't be back for Christmas here next year.

Id give this a 3.5 out 5 rating. Rooms are really nice however for a double bed theyre quite small and firm, service was great however pool staff wer a bit slow and for a 5 star resort you would expect 5 star drinks amd they wer below average. Very expensive pool side food aswell $21 for a kids pizza is crazy! Location is unreal, and its a really nice resort perfect for familys, overall id stay again but my expectations of a 5 star wont be met.

We were upgraded to a marina view, which was nice however it was partial marina view and partial loading dock for the marina. We didn’t spend a lot of time on the balcony though. The room was great, grounds beautifully kept, pool facilities excellent (though competition for shaded pool chairs was fierce!) and we could not fault the amazing buffet breakfast and coffees! We had a wonderful experience and will be back again.

An amazing experience for my family, my kids really enjoyed their stay there. All staff are very helpful. This place has all the facilities we need for a family trip. The breakfast is very high quality.

I asked for a baby cot because I have a 15-month-old baby. But the cot floor was divided into four parts, and the height was different, so my baby was uncomfortable, he couldn't sleep in the cot. Everything else was good. The artificial beach had some shade, so we could avoid from sunlight. Also water was warm, it was good for baby to play in the water. And breakfast was great, and the Korean male server was so kind. we were also impressed. Thanks to him, we had a pleasant Christmas morning.

Our family loves spending time at the Intercontinental Sanctuary Cove. The facilities are impressive, particularly the white sand pool. The staff at the lounge, notably Natalia and Roxy, welcome us back every year and provide a warm and homely atmosphere. Thanks a lot for looking after us. We will be back next year for sure!

Fabulous room overlooking the harbour

Absolutely so relaxing and the staff was brilliant

I left my laptop there over a month ago and tried to collect it multiple times to be told they don’t have it after saying they do. Right now it’s theft. They refuse to give it to a courier or people collecting and have wasted everyone’s time and money. If I don’t get it to me in the next week I’ll be reporting it to police.

Just had the best long weekend stay at Sanctuary Cove. If you are looking for a totally relaxing weekend (or longer) I would highly recommend this resort. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left the staff were amazing; attentive, friendly, caring, they went all out to ensure we had a great time. The hotel is lovely, the gardens with wild kangaroos were beautiful, and then there is the lagoon and beach club! Incredible, laying there on day beds looking across the water, with a glass of wine . . we were in tropical heaven!! We upgraded to get executive lounge access which was totally worth it, we had afternoon tea everyday and drinks and canapés before dinner. We ate at Fire on Sunday evening which was amazing!! Would like to particularly thank Roxy and Cedric for their amazing hospitality and service.

We loved the buffet breakfast and the swimming facilities, especially the beach lagoon - it was perfect for our little family. During my recent stay at the Intercontinental Sanctuary Cove Resort, I found several aspects of the experience to be satisfactory, though there were a few areas that left room for improvement. The resort's location and surroundings are undoubtedly beautiful, providing a serene and picturesque environment perfect for relaxation. The lush gardens, Lagoon and well-maintained grounds added to the overall charm of the place. The room I stayed, the Homestead Suite in was comfortable and clean, though it lacked some personal touches one might expect from a resort of this calibre. When we decided to book the Homestead Suite, we were expecting nothing less than a 5 star service, like a card from the General Manager welcoming us, there was no turndown service, I had to call on Friday (08/11/24) at around 9pm to have the Sofa-bed in the living room made into a bed for my 10 year old son, I would like to mention Jonas the housekeeping attendant that came to our room to make the bed, he was friendly and efficient. There were no daily amenities, not even complimentary water. Staying at the most expensive room in the hotel, we were also expecting to have Club access, however we didn’t, so we decided upgrade to include the Club Lounge access, which cost an extra $180 per night, we were ok with it, as we wanted to experience it, however when we went to the Club for the evening canape service we were denied entry as our son was with us, the waitress at the door said we could seat outside, I was shocked, paying an extra to be told to seat outside…… We were never told that we could not go with our son into the Evening Canape Service when we decided to upgrade. The bed was cozy, and the view from the balcony was delightful; however, the decor felt a bit dated and could use some refreshing. The staff were generally friendly and helpful, I would like to mention a waiter called Mamoud, he went above and beyond always with a smile on his face. Speaking of dining, the dinner we had at the Fireplace on Saturday, the food was very good and tasty, however the table was covered in ashes from the woodfire oven. The breakfast buffet offered a good variety, but it could have more options for children. Room service was a let down for us unfortunately, it took 40 minutes to get an Ice Bucket, when the hotel knew that we would like to have a bucket of ice delivered upon arrival, which was requested on a phone call we received from the hotel, when the ice bucket was delivered there was no utensil to get the ice from the bucket. We ordered some food on Friday night, a margherita pizza and a butter chicken, the pizza was ok, however the butter chicken was not….. the rice was crunchy and undercooked, the butter chicken itself was nice. When we called to say that the rice was undercooked the person named Tyler that answered the phone was nothing but sarcastic, no apologies at all. All she said after we complained about the rice was: “anything else..?” When we were expecting to hear: I do apologise, I will organise a new dish to be delivered straight away. When we got the dish re-delivered it was exactly the same, the rice was still crunchy and undercooked. Also the glasses that we requested on Saturday were not cleaned at all (please see below picture) Also I would like to mention Kate the Resort Manager, she also went above and beyond to organise a QR code that was missing the Day Bed (719) we were at the lagoon on Saturday. Overall, my experience at the Intercontinental Sanctuary Cove Resort was pleasant, but it did not fully meet my expectations of a high-end resort. With some enhancements in service and modernization of the rooms, this resort has the potential to offer a truly exceptional stay.

I stayed at the hotel for 2 nights last weekend. The hotel was an elegant and beautiful resort. The room was tastily renovated and spacious. It was so comfortable and relaxing stay there. The staff were very friendly especially Sam at the front desk, who went all the way to assist me. The staff recognized my loyalty. I received a complementary box of the chocolate made by the hotel chef using local ingredient of pollen fennel, wattle seed, Tasmanian pepper and lemon myrtle. They were absolute delicious. I hope the hotel could sell them next time when I come to visit again. It was a very enjoyable holiday and I will stay there longer next time.

During my recent stay at the Intercontinental Sanctuary Cove Resort, I found several aspects of the experience to be satisfactory, though there were a few areas that left room for improvement. The resort's location and surroundings are undoubtedly beautiful, providing a serene and picturesque environment perfect for relaxation. The lush gardens, Lagoon and well-maintained grounds added to the overall charm of the place. The room I stayed, the Homestead Suite in was comfortable and clean, though it lacked some personal touches one might expect from a resort of this calibre. When we decided to book the Homestead Suite, we were expecting nothing less than a 5 star service, like a card from the General Manager welcoming us, there was no turndown service, I had to call on Friday (08/11/24) at around 9pm to have the Sofa-bed in the living room made into a bed for my 10 year old son, I would like to mention Jonas the housekeeping attendant that came to our room to make the bed, he was friendly and efficient. There were no daily amenities, not even complimentary water. Staying at the most expensive room in the hotel, we were also expecting to have Club access, however we didn’t, so we decided upgrade to include the Club Lounge access, which cost an extra $180 per night, we were ok with it, as we wanted to experience it, however when we went to the Club for the evening canape service we were denied entry as our son was with us, the waitress at the door said we could seat outside, I was shocked, paying an extra to be told to seat outside…… We were never told that we could not go with our son into the Evening Canape Service when we decided to upgrade. The bed was cozy, and the view from the balcony was delightful; however, the decor felt a bit dated and could use some refreshing. The staff were generally friendly and helpful, I would like to mention a waiter called Mamoud, he went above and beyond always with a smile on his face. Speaking of dining, the dinner we had at the Fireplace on Saturday, the food was very good and tasty, however the table was covered in ashes from the woodfire oven. The breakfast buffet offered a good variety, but it could have more options for children. Room service was a let down for us unfortunately, it took 40 minutes to get an Ice Bucket, when the hotel knew that we would like to have a bucket of ice delivered upon arrival, which was requested on a phone call we received from the hotel, when the ice bucket was delivered there was no utensil to get the ice from the bucket. We booked two King Club Room Access with Marina Views. We had a wonderful stay and enjoyed the inclusions such as free A La Carte Breakfast, High Tea and Club access. Staff could not have been more accommodating at every request. There was a busy function on during one Club session however our concerns regarding the noise were listened and communication around that was great. We were driven by staff down to Georges for dinner and picked up again. Same with golf which the hotel arranged for us. A wonderful place and I thoroughly enjoyed my birthday celebrations there and definitely will return. As an international crew manager I will recommend to our customers onboard when they visit QLD. Thanks to all the staff for a memorable experience!

Every single staff member from reception, room services and service attendants in the restaurants were welcoming, friendly and energetic and made the stay so much more pleasurable being surrounded by happy people.

Excellent place with Excellent friendly helpful staff

After leaving this hotel after 5 nights we headed for Surfers Paradise for a few days. After two days we decided to head back as it is such a great spot and reasonably close to Brisbane Airport. The garden setting is incredible. The rooms spacious and the staff first class. Many thanks to Loic, he ensured we were well taken care of. Also special mention to Sameera, Beatriz, Tylah, Liam, Rochelle and Kathia. We must also not forget to mention Ivan, Hugo and Keith. All these people are the reason we will be back.
