Poor reception service Rest was all great.

We found getting around very easy just out the back door to the tram.

Lovely stay with my partner, with many thanks to Alan in Koastal Kitchen for going above & beyond my expectations. We can't wait to come back.

Perfect location right on the tram stop and 5 minute walk onto the beach.

Super convenient location with a tram station right under your nose.

Really nice place awesome pools. Great looking place. Pretty well close to everything. Staff were all wonderful except for 1 member of staff who was really rude short and wouldn’t smile at all. Did have a funny smell through the place. I would for sure come back. Would have given a 5 if it wasn’t for the 1 staff member

I've stayed at Mantra Sun City multiple times, always an awesome stay. Clean , cozy and we never want to go. Shout out to Lianna who was great at getting our booking sorted this time around 👏

Rooms a bit dated now and plates and utensils a little inconsistent, but overall a great place to stay with great pool. I've stayed before and I will stay again. My comments are not actual criticisms, but more a comparison between the mantra and a 5* hotel

The reception area was nice, and had a resort vibe. However, when we went up the elevator, the whole floor had a putrid stench until we got into our rooms. The room was dated, smelly and the bathroom looked unclean, so I wore slide shoes in the shower to avoid standing on the tiled floor which had mouldy grout. There was no room cleaning for the 7 day duration of our stay, beds weren’t made and towels weren’t replaced. We were placed in room 2001B which shared a door with 2001A where a young family stayed. The kids and parents screamed constantly, the kids kept opening and closing the doors and loitering in the joint space outside our room, unsupervised. This woke us up in the morning and was not relaxing. Staff couldn’t change our room due to availability. There was very little staff available, and no pool side service. The best part about the hotel was the pool area. However the big pool had freezing cold water so we didn’t use it. The big pool should have heating similar to the smaller outdoor pool. The hotel is very conveniently located next to the tram stop.

We were locked out of our room for 2 HOURS with a flat battery in the door opener at night, 4 workers attended before they decided to call a locksmith to change the lock because the receptionist that attended the first time apparently rounded out the socket to change the battery in the door lock. The attitude of the staff was disgusting constantly telling us they would have it sorted out shortly. I spoke to the manager the following day and he offered me $50 compensation. I was left to sit and wait outside our room with my 6year old son (soaking wet) in an unairconditioned corridor for 2 hours and on an extremely hot night ... The room was very run down with the carpet dirty, stained, smelly and was the oven. The doors in the bathroom are falling apart. I booked ocean view and got a view of cranes on the construction site across the road. perhaps advertise as obstructed view. Far from acceptable for a Mantra resort.

We had a ball we have been coming there for 10 years now love the atmosphere and all the staff Tanya gosling Ben Hartono for making our stay so pleasurable making sure everything was perfect love the upgrades in the hotel also loved the Spanish and Italian night at coastal kitchen even reception at front desk always have a smile on there faces massive pool with slides indoor pool spas sauna gym room beach one block away kids absolutely loved it will be back again end of year can’t wait

I booked a One-Bedroom Apartment with Ocean View and the receptionist had a great and patient attitude. I did request for a higher floor on Booking.com and was arranged to 29th floor as a result, which was trustful and generous of the Accor manager. Besides, you can leave your luggage here when you just check out and are waiting for your flight or switching to another hotel. The ocean view is so nice and clear and overlooking the building from the balcony can be exhilarating. However, at first late night, I came back and the room card worked fine at front door, lifts except for my room door, so I realised the sensor of the room door lock was malfunctioning, not even showing any lights. Thereafter, I went down to the reception desk and no one was there but a minute later, fortunately there came a man and was willing to help out. As a result, he said it happened because I did open the balcony window when I just checked in, but the weather got much worse, rainier and windier than I thought after I went out at 4 p.m. Because it was extremely windy and rainy, which was impossible to go out to buy drinks, I went down to B1 (card scanned) and there were a few vending machines selling chips, soft drinks, and energy drinks. Moreover, the quilt on the bed was very thin that you can easily feel cold after hours; however, there were some blankets for more warmth while sleeping if you need them. In conclusion, the location is so convenient that you can just go to the side door of the hotel and reach the tram station (surfers paradise north) directly but when you return, you need to take out your room card to scan the sensor to enter again. Overall, I would rate it a 9.5 out of 10!

The pool is cool, lots of open space and cool features like the water slide, the indoor pool is great, its relaxing and not crowded. But the rooms are the worst in my opinion, good for a single night sleep, but on the second day there were cockroaches everywhere, in the bathroom, in the beds. If you have a family or kids I would not recommend until they have fixed this issue of mass amounts of cockroaches. Even a supply of bug spray for each room would have helped heaps. Also! the locks on the bathrooms do not work, leaving some awkward encounters between family members allowing for little to no privacy.

We stayed at sun city for over a week excellent hotel fantastic pools waterslide was hit with my daughter only thing I say with spa that young kids in there with out supervision With no parent is dangerous. We definitely will be back again in January next year This fantastic place for family to just relax and enjoy swim very beautiful hotel

Considering the price we paid for 6 nights, the room was extremely rundown and in need of renovation. The views were beautiful, Ocean Views as described. other than that, not very impressed with the room. The facilities are great for a family; heated pools, water slides and saunas. The afternoon of checkout we received a call letting us know that we hadn't returned the car park key, which we had returned. The next day another phone call, saying we still hadn't returned the key and we would be charged. Reconfirmed the car spot number and was told there was a mixup as they were looking for the wrong carpark number. Third phone call saying that the carpark number I had confirmed was not returned either. I asked them to check the reception cameras to make sure that we had not returned the key and was told on the camera you cannot see us returning the key. I asked her to send me a screenshot of the camera footage to show that you can clearly see us only returning the room swipe. FOURTH phone call later she says sorry we made a mistake you did return your key and we messed up with the carpark numbers.

Before checking in, I’ve called to request 2 extra towels. It was not fulfilled when checking in. The lid on the bottom of the spa bath in indoor pool area is broken and it cut my partner’s heel. Parking is $20 a day and we were not aware. Tho they were nice enough to offer a small white wine for my partner’s birthday.

Experience was great

Great service, rooms are big. Enjoy breakfast in the morning with great options.

We picked Suncity due to the proximity to the beach and so that our kids could enjoy the water slides. Proximity to the beach is great but everything else not so great. Service was average, the rooms and common areas including the buffet breakfast restaurant are all a little run down and require maintenance (it’s an old building). Holes in the walls in our two bedroom apartment, paint peeling of the doors. Loose foot thresholds on the balcony (the list goes on). ||The water slides were dangerous. My son copped a nasty bruise to his temple (he was using the slide properly). The life guard told us this happens a few times daily and the slides are dangerous.||There was also confusion around our booking, a glitch in the booking app and confirmation with the hotel. In the end Mantra honoured our booking but we had to explain it to three seperate services people at three different times (it became frustrating). ||Meriton are building a high rise next door. 6.30am commercial level construction noise. ||Also some confusion around check out time. All and all it was ok but not really worth the price tag.

Definitely I’ll book again

Spent a week in a 3 bedroom apartment facing the beautiful ocean , beach and city skyline to one side. A true resort experience with excellent outdoor pools with water slides and hot tubs. A perfectly located hotel just 5 min walk to the beach and 10 mins to the all dining and entertainment options of surfers paradise. You can also hop onto the rail and two stops your there if you don’t feel like walking. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff are all very friendly and it’s just a great property to spend a week to relax and unwind! States in various hotels in surfers paradise and this has now become my new favourite. Whole family really enjoyed the stay and we will definitely be back!

Big clean room with plenty of amenities (although, most could do with a bit of a refresh). No daily housekeeping was a bit of a surprise, but not a big deal for only a two night stay. Beach access is only a block away and Caville Ave is easily within walking distance. There's a light rail station right by the side gate if you want to head further out.||||Front desk staff can use a bit of an attitude check (maybe they just hate the job). ||Pool bar closed an hour earlier than what was stated on their opening hours on the Saturday (ended up having to redeem the welcome drink from the fridge by the front desk).||A number of the elevators were out of order the time I was there, so you'll be waiting a little for one. Speaking to some of the residents, seems that they're always doing some sort of maintenance on one or two. ||The floor I was on is shared with long term residents. It's not a problem when in your room, but the noise and smell (from whatever they cooked up) hits you when opening the door.||Roller doors to the garage (both entrances) wasn't opening for me with the card I was given. Fortunately, someone eventually came along to let me in and out. If you don't mind leaving the car out in the sun, you're probably better off parking across the street (it's only $6 for 12 hours)

Perhaps just unlucky with a room where the phone didn't work, the a/c was set to one temp and fan speed, and the room next door was a permanent resident doing noisy renovations. Reception was however very nice and helpful. Very close to the beautiful beach. Don't drop ur room key off until u have exited the car park! I learnt the hard way.

She's old and everything is broken in this Hotel! Had a few rooms as all the families on holiday together, every door handle in every room was broken or jammed, holes in the bathroom doors where the locks use to be. Wifi unit didn't work in one of rooms and so many other things just old or broken. Minimal staff around, but the pool is awesome and the light rail stops right out front which is super handy.

My check-in experience was smooth and welcoming, with friendly staff that made a great first impression. I particularly appreciated the spacious car park, the cozy lounge area, and the variety of activities offered. These amenities were definitely the highlights of my stay. However, my experience with the room was disappointing. The dusting was not done properly, and I noticed several areas that had not been cleaned well. What was even more frustrating was the complete lack of housekeeping services. Despite staying for four nights, we never had our room serviced once. The breakfast was another major letdown. I strongly advise against adding breakfast to your reservation. The cleanliness of the plates and cups was unacceptable. Every plate I picked up had stains and food marks, and it took a good five minutes to find a clean plate or cup. The glasses for juice were all cloudy and had marks on them. To make matters worse, the tea or coffee mugs had sugar sachet wrappers stuck to them each day. While the breakfast options were decent in terms of food variety, the cleanliness left much to be desired. It’s clear that the management needs to focus on maintaining proper hygiene standards, as it seemed like the staff didn't properly clean the dishes after use. This is a serious issue that needs immediate attention. Overall, while the hotel has some positive features, my experience was marred by cleanliness issues and lack of housekeeping. I won’t be recommending this hotel to others.

Stayed rm 3101 The views were incredible and the location spot on - tram stop right outside the back gate - which no one alerted us to on check in we just luckily worked it out. The room was huge and made it a comfortable stay for our family of 5! We were able to cook Christmas lunch and enjoy a relaxing day in the space and didn’t feel cramped at all. The staff we encountered were helpful and friendly. In terms of the actual room lots of little issues not total deal breakers however for the cost of the stay I did expect better and from such a large hotel chain: - the walls are chipped and dirty throughout - the fridge had missing and broken shelves - we reported to reception and they had it fixed straight away - the toaster broke and was replaced from a 4 toast to 2 which is crazy for the size room - the tv is tiny and we couldn’t connect our Google chrome as it was so old - the beds a terribly made with sheets and crappy fleece blankets. What would be the fitted sheet, isn’t fitted and constantly comes off the beds. - one of the couches has a big dip in it, the underneath is clearly broken. - the lights in the bathroom are shocking - the room is reference for 6 people but there are only 5 chairs at the kitchen table - the outside setting is a huge table that doesn’t even fit on the balcony and two mis -matched chairs and a pool lounge chair. Such a shame we can’t even sit out there and enjoy the view and fresh air - again a room for 6 with the ability to only fit 2 people outside is ridiculous

1. Late check in We arrived on time for the check in time but the rooms were not ready. We had to wait for over 40mins for our room and there were a lot of people waiting in the lobby. All we got was a short apology until we specifically requested for a compensation. I believe this should have been done even before we asked since they wasted our precious time. 2. Dirty, broken room The couch and the chairs were broken, the kettle was also broken, and the kitchen floors were super sticky. Also dirty bed sheets. 3. Bad smell, old building I CANNOT understand why this hotel is 4 stars.

Needs maintenance. (Room 1709) interior - Furnishings too dated, needs a major overhaul, walls need to be repaired and painted, carpets need to be replaced. Musty stale smells in the room & hallway. Extra light switch in the bathroom for entry from WIR. Bed is very firm and the split in the middle (2 single beds joined) is annoying. Word of advice to the owner of the apartment- when you're charging Meriton" prices it needs to be "Meriton" quality."

Perfect location only a few steps away from the tram stop. Great facilities as well.

Lives up to its 3 star rating. Rooms are average, but how much time do you spend in your room right? The pool area is awesome. They need a good restaurant but the light rail station is right outside the gate to get to surfers.

Perfect location. The tram is at the side entrance to the hotel. So regarding safety, this is spot on. The room is well presented

Positive experience. The only downside was the bar closing at 6pm. Most people returning back to apartments from being out during the day. Would have been nice if it was open longer. Breakfast very expensive

Great location, with underground parking. The hotel is a little bit tired in terms of it's decor and the rooms are quite basic with an old style small LCD television in the double room I had booked. My AC wasn't working so the team came and checked it promptly, and then proceeded to upgrade me to an apartment which was an incredible space, so was very thankful and a good customer service experience - Thank you. The swimming pool and leisure facilities are really good at this hotel. Looks like a great hotel for families. Definitely recommend and will be coming back here when back in Aus.

Perfectly situated near tram line and 5 min walk to the beach. Hotel facilities were great especially the pools. Stayed with 3 children <6 and several adults in a 3 bedroom apartment. Apartment needed a little love but in no way detracted from the stay. Beds were comfy and kitchen well equipped. Definitely recommend.

We found the room and amenities to have everything we needed with a kitchen with oven, toaster, stove and kettle. Even tea and coffee for breakfast. The Pool, waterslide, spa and sauna were great additions as well. However the condition of the room wasn't up to par with what we expected. The bedroom door handle was nearly falling off, carpet had stains on them and someone had burnt the iron into the carpet. After checking out we were blamed for staining the carpets which stains were already there upon check in. The maintenance should up their standards in ensuring their rooms are repair and not accusing the people staying there previous issues and damage. Lucky we took photos on day of check in, to prove the stain were not caused by us and we were able to get refunded our deposit.

Excellent Experience all round at Mantra Sun City. Can not fault the service, room and customer service we received. 6 fantastic days. Would recommend it and will be back again.

superb u can plan your stay here

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Mantra Sun City, and I was thoroughly impressed with my experience. The resort offers a fantastic pool area, complete with waterslides, a heated pool, a spa, and even an indoor pool with its own spa – perfect for relaxation after a day out. I stayed in a 2-bedroom ocean view apartment, and it was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The beds and pillows were a highlight – offering a great night’s sleep after a busy day. The apartment also had all the amenities needed for a relaxing stay. The location was ideal as well, just a 10-minute walk from Cavill Avenue, or you can take a quick tram ride, with a tram stop conveniently located right outside the resort. This made it easy to get around and enjoy the surrounding area. Overall, I had a great stay at Mantra Sun City and would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a comfortable, family-friendly resort with excellent facilities and a prime location.

Has this room been serviced or cleaned before handing it over to us as guests? It's so bad and stinky, it's so extremely disappointing and disgusting. Only one roll of toilet paper, no tissues in box, mouldy, soap scum and grime shower head, dirty curtains, rubbish left on bathroom vanity. Shall I go on? Whata waste! I'll never be back! 😧 Customer service of gentleman upon check-in has been lovely. Thank you.

Great position clean safe resort has nice pools and spa's great little bar erea over looking pool great breakfast our room had ocean views which was spectacular one street over from patrolled beach tram straight out front no need to hire car..will come back here was a good stress free break..well done mantra.

Check out on the 7th November ...been a few weeks now , rang them up asking been told it's pending still waiting on the refund...part the location and the room was good ...i would recommend to stay away from Mantra , never go back very sad and disappointed

This is a great resort to stay at on the Gold Coast. Located just a ten to fifteen minute walk from the main shopping area of Cavill Rd, this hotel provides a great experience. Several pools, a hot tub, sauna, waterslides, a gym, and more give it great amenities for guests to take advantage of. The walk from the main shopping area is excellent so you are removed from the loud noise of Surfer's but yet can reach there very easily via foot or the tram. Room needed a bit of upgrading, but otherwise was great. Staff were friendly for the most part and helpful. Would stay again!

Such an amazing place to stay, and Fletcher the wonderful bartender made the experience 100% worth while. Definitely would return 💕💕💕 #fletcher4life

Five stars because of the cute bar tender Fletcher. We love his energy and he's so sweet!! Will be returning.

Stayed here for a week with family and friends. Absolutely huge 3 bedroom apartment with King Size beds in two rooms and two Single XL beds in the third. The views of the ocean from every room were amazing (22nd floor) and so beautiful to wake up to every day. The furniture is a little dated, with some old and new items throughout. However it was spotlessly clean and had full sized shampoo, conditioner, handwash and body lotion supplied in both bathrooms. Clean towels and fresh, white sheets. There was also plenty of toilet paper for the whole week. The tram stop is conveniently located right in front of the property and plenty of car parking under the building. We enjoyed drinks at the pool cafe during happy hour (cheap cocktails- can recommend the Fruit Tingle 😊). We’ll be back!

Good clean hotel with nice facilities

Lovely place to stay Staff are lovely 🌹❤️

Couldn't fault it, had everything we needed and a very spacious unit. Pool facilities had something for everyone

Decor is very dated. Room not serviced.

I booked this hotel as I’m Accor Plus Gold member, booked it via the All Accor app. Location is convenient, 15 mins walking distance to the centre of surfers paradise. The room is quite old, but it was clean. The view was quite nice from my room, and they have a snack pack in the room for me as a gesture for Gold members. Pillows are very firm and high as well as old, not very comfortable for my neck. The bed however was okay, it’s towards to the firm side but I prefer firm bed anyway. This hotel is more like apartment settings, so don’t expect it runs like a hotel, don’t expect too much for “services”. The cafe staff are friendly, the front desk staff were average, came across one even a bit rude. It’s definitely not qualified to be a 4 star hotel, but it was okay if you looking for cheaper options for weekends.

Had the best stay at this lovely hotel. Something for everyone. Bed was extremely comfortable, Views were stunning . Pools and spa's are beautiful. Staff very helpful and friendly. Will be definitely staying here again. ONLY negative, No lunches or dinners in the restaurant.

We had an amazing family trip staying at Mantra Sun City in Surfers Paradise! We booked a 2-bedroom apartment, and the experience exceeded our expectations. The apartment was incredibly spacious, with a large lounge area, laundry room, and a fully equipped kitchen—perfect for cooking meals and even hosting friends for dinner. The bedrooms were a good size, and the master bedroom came with a walk-in wardrobe leading to a luxurious bathroom featuring two sinks, a shower, a toilet, and a bath. The highlight of our stay was definitely the breathtaking views from the balcony, especially during sunrise. You get a perfect blend of ocean views and city life—just stunning! The apartment also had access to three fantastic swimming pools: one indoor heated pool with a spa, and two outdoor pools with water slides and a great seating area with BBQ facilities. The kids absolutely loved it! The location was also ideal, only a 5-minutes walk to the beach, restaurants, and a supermarket. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast each morning, with a wide variety of food options to suit everyone's taste. Overall, Mantra Sun City was the perfect spot for a family vacation, and we’ll definitely be back

Awesome 👌

We stayed here last week for 3 nights... pretty dowdy...very old rooms..need revamping...paint pealing off on desk..bathroom very 70's.. holes & stains on the curtains... would not recommend...also they charge $20 per night for you to park yr car in their carpark!!.

BEWARE - Hotel Rooms not as advertised, Hotel Rooms not per picture, Hotel Rooms badly in need of repair. Recommendation, don't book HOTEL ROOMs ||Difficulty resolving this with reception staff. Eventually addressed only after threatening escalation to Mantra CEO

Excellent place, in a prime location. But be warned there is no free car park spaces anymore. And they are building a very tall building right at the front, so most sea views will soon disappear

My daughter and I stayed at the Mantra Sun City. We had a very pleasant stay. The only disappointing aspect of our room was that when you went to go into the room, there was a very strong smell of Indian cooking from the next door neighbour's apartment. I like Indian food but the aroma smelled so strong that we held our breath when walking past the neighbour's apartment. Apart from that, the apartment was well appointed, clean and spacious. Friendly staff. Beautiful looking premises.

Beautiful rooms and tram stop right outside.

Cheap hotel in poor condition. Staff were friendly enough. Dirty, stained carpets and in a state of disrepair.

Fantastic place. Central, clean and so handy. Tram right out the front, bus right out the back. 2x stores within 3 minutes walking distance. Several pools, slides, outdoor spa and chill places with free BBQs. Great for families with children. We air bnbd there.

Spacious apartments right in the heart of Indy track. Tram stop at door, awesome pools onsite. Reasonable views of ocean.

Rundown, tacky place that seemed to be owned by moneymakers who want quick cash. It’s like a bad movie. It’s restaurants are closed. The girl at reception was chewing gum with her mouth open. The apartment itself looks like it’s decorated for shooting 1980 style pornmovies. I don’t recommend staying here and spend your $$ somewhere else.

I absolutely loved this hotel as far as it has the tram right on our doorstep. The rooms are tired in need of some maintenance. Was worried when they said they put a $200 bond on my room in case of damage. I took about 30 photos of damaged areas in my room and was worried about being charged for it. Had a family room, so fully equipped kitchen (Leaking fridge), laundry, lounge tv, good bedroom, bath with shower and toilet. Check when booking that your room isn't next to a privately owned room. As you could get a shock when you hear a barking dog in the next room. Fantastic swimming pools, spa, sauna, and steam room. Overall I enjoyed my stay and I will come back.

Based on location we chose this hotel to hav good experience. Unfortunately we cant make it due to sickness . As a brand and expensive accomodation its expected to be flexible enough to consider some rescheduling whereas our all money wasted. So book wisely , same range one can get other 5 star hotel where services has more flexibility.

Very nice hotel, with a huge room and very good amenities, including pool and sauna. Right next to a tram station so easy and quick transport links to anywhere in the city

Very helpfull stuff lovely apartment train right side wood stay again

Loved my stay at the mantra - beautiful location and amenities. Steven Webster from the front desk was an absolute legend helping me with my reservation too

Really outdated, needs a refurb. Noisy next to the road and light coming through so not the best night sleep

Great place to watch the Pacific Air Show from our balcony on the 31st floor. Loved it!

It's OK if you enjoy mouldy bathrooms, broken kitchen tiles covered with thick black tape. Mouldy ceilings and six inches of dust in the crevices of every single part of the carpeted outskirtings. Blown light bulbs, an odd odour coming from the bathroom, kitchen overhead that has flaking paint falling into your food and you'll still be charged $88 for a few marks left on the carpet that they'll state is because you didn't leave the apartment up to sellable standards. Definitely wouldn't recommend the pools, especially the indoor pool + spa. The spa water is so thick it looks like gelatin and if you dare step into the indoor heated pool, you will instantly slip and slide. Definitely need some better maintenance, we stayed 5 days and not once was anything in the pool areas cleaned.

The building is not new but comfortable to stay here.

The table has mould, kitchen benches are chipped floors dirty and blinds filthy We paid a lot of money for the Bates motel. I feel extremely dirty and peeved that I'm staying in conditions par to a hostel . Also found cockroaches in the bathroom Why don't you have pride and clean these rooms? Why put a moulding table for people to use? Why or how are you even an operational business?

Went here 5 years ago, was good back then. Now it’s old and dirty. Our sheets were dirty, had to ask for them to get changed. Our bathroom smelt like a sewer!! Said they would send someone up, no one did anything. Buffet breakfast is an absolute joke. 5 years ago it was awesome and a great range of food. Now it’s not worth the money. Didn’t have any gluten free sweets. Just some bread. 4 year old child in the pool with floaties on, jumping in and out! Screaming and yelling. Had 2 younger sisters with him. Reported it to reception don’t think they cared. Next day more children alone in the pool, going under in the spar bath and spitting out water, disgusting. We won’t be coming back here ever.

Insects in the rooms even on high up levels

We had a great week of winter sun here. Room was spacious and well set up for all we needed it to be. Spa, sauna and steam room were great. We ventured down for breakfast once and would not do it again - not worth the price and the range of food available was unhealthy and poor quality.

We only stayed here one night. The service was the absolute best. It looked so beautiful driving up into to forecourt and the foyer was stunning. We got up to our room and it was a pretty big anticlimax, it smelled bad like cat piss! we were only staying for a night so we just opened all the windows. Main room bed was dreamy and we slept soooooo well. The two beds in the other room also very comfy. Extra bed was no more than a camp bed and boy was my daughter wild!! The sliding doors to the balcony never opened so that was dumb. The rooms were alright though in general the apartment was old and dated in comparison to the gorgeous forecourt and foyer. Thoroughly enjoyed the spa and pool area
