Amaroo Hotel

i didn’t stay in a room, just had lunch at the bistro and it was amazing, delicious high quality food and friendly staff. definetely would come again.

Room had oudour. Woke up with a lot of bedbugs bites.

On a Wednesday night, I was okay with that. What I was not okay with was going to the room to put my bag in, it was a hot room, so I turned on the AC.|Well, I think I will look for a pillow no pillows at all ok I will tell the staff.|so then to make it nice I pulled the bed covers back and there was a faeces mark on the bottom sheet looking like someone sat on the bed and wipe themselves on the bed I got a sorry from the bar staff and she help me make the bed with a clean sheet and got me a pillow |PS This is going on Facebook

The room is definetly requires a make over. Carpet was stained the room and hall ways stunk of cigarette smell. The shower had no sliding door the glass side pieces swung in the breeze and the tiles were brocken. This room wouldnt make a 1 star rating.|Would i recommend the place no way.

The room was neat and clean, with amenities as expected for the price. The main concern was the noise: I knew there was a nightclub in the building but I thought with offering rooms that there would be better sound proofing, plus we stayed on a Thursday night so I didn't think there would be such loud music till 2am. If you're looking for a party, great. If you're looking for a good night's sleep, this is not the place.

After staff giving us the wrong key three times to our room we finally did get the right key to our room! Room was not clean at all bed sheets had stains on them very very disappointing! Would not recommend to anyone ! Food was good that’s the only thing I recommend! Will not be staying here again

Easy access to rooms via lift. Comfy beds and HOT water in showers. Very welcoming and easy going staff. |It is a pub, carpets are worn but clean. Rooms could be a bit cleaner but altogether a great central place to stay overnight for the price.👍

Good location, great restaurant but less than basic hotel room amenities. Sound on TV didn’t work and guy working in hotel was on his own so couldn’t help. Only a thin blanket on hard bed on a cold night and no spare bedding anywhere. Carpet was filthy; curtains were stained; and no shelves or hooks in bathroom to place toiletries or hang towels. You get what you pay for but definitely below par!! Sadly, won’t stay there again.

The room had an odd chemical odour. Mold on the bathroom ceiling, pubic hairs on the walls, leaking basin. Odd stains on the carpet that may have been vomit. The food was average. Do not recommend.

The Amaroo is absolutely disgusting. We have witnessed suspicious actions in the bathrooms which also has a history of SA, instead of being taken seriously, we just received a security guard telling us we had too much to drink and kicked us out. We are only writing this review for people to stay safe

The staff were very friendly and hospitable. |The rooms were tidy, but I wouldn't say clean. There was a foul smell in the room which I could not locate. Very outdated and in need of some major upgrades. The best part was the shower! Lots of pressure and very hot! :-)

All the hotels in Dubbo were booked out so I ended up with a late booking at the Amaroo. It was interesting. On the plus side: bargain price, big room, comfortable bed, big bathroom, efficient air conditioning, hot water in shower. There was an electric jug. Reasonably quiet even though on the main street. On the minus side: 3 single beds, no chair or wardrobe. Room smelled unaired and dank. Windows opened only a crack. Had to ask for another roll of toilet paper. Bathroom sink leaked. No door handle on the bathroom door. One power point not working. No information provided about how to get back into the hotel after hours (use my room key in the external door) or whether there was WiFi. I don’t know whether this was typical of other rooms. Quirky: bolts on the outside of the door of this and the adjoining room so I wonder whether they are used to hold prisoners on court days? Maybe that explains the bare essentials.

Room a bit rundown, but off St parking, and close to city centre

Great stopover on our way to QLD . The staff were amazing - friendly and very welcoming. Bistro in hotel was fantastic. Meat, vegetables and great salads- no hunting for a meal after a long drive The bed was wonderful, and the room very clean. The room had character which adds to a hotel.

Evening Meal , steak night $14 for T bone with veggies and chips . Great value .

Great place to overnight, neat tidy, awesome cheap meals. It even has a lift which was great because I was on level 3.

Re Bistro…after Covid, the Bistro appeared to have new management as although the prices were increased, the quality of the food improved tremendously. But we visited for lunch yesterday after a few months anbsence and the food has reverted once again to mediocre! Range of choice for lunch specials is depleted! Couldn’t even get the favourite fish and chips or grilled salmon and salad! Typical fried food, overcooked and dried. I had the seafood combo..with chips and salad. The chips were ok but the seafood was terrible and the salad was even deader than the ‘dead food people’ covered with grated cheese and carrot to hide the wilted lettuce! The other meal we ordered was the roast of the day. Served on a small cold plate with meanest helping of overcooked vegetables! Once more, we won’t be returning for a while hoping the management will pick up its game yet again!!

Absolutely beautiful meals piping hot food and large meals really well presented definitely will be going back soon on our next trip

I had to cancel my booking 3 weeks before due date. Bloody hard they do not answer the ph, it goes to message bank of a different number. They do not reply to msg. I can not rate any thing else. Only this i think there is a lot of fake reviews on here.

Went there on Thursday. Noticed the special on the front Half price meals - kids eat free. Stopped in and ordered. 2 adult meals 2 kids meals. I paid but didn't take note on how much just tapped my card *my fault Turns out they charged me full price for everything Great food and atmosphere

Highly recommended pub all round. Great service and staff. Wednesday nights are karaoke night. Hands down, best pub in Dubbo

Excellent little hideaway. Referred to me by a friend, the accommodation was great. Own toilet and shower is a big bonus

Don’t go here if you want decent service! Tried and tried to call, left voicemails in the hope we’d be called back to arrange after hours check in to no avail. No answer and no call back! Work colleague staying with us tried to organise pick up of the keys but they refused. Drove 12 hours only to get to hour destination and not be able check in and sleep. What a joke, answer your damn phone!!

Almost impossible for people with disability to access - lift was broken, had to climb 4 flights of stairs to get to the room. Taps broken. One of the stair rails was missing from the wall. Surely a WHS concern here.

Very simple and basic accommodation. Great location.

Basic accommodation at best. - No WiFi - accommodation on 3rd floor - lift out of order - car park at rear of hotel, need to carry luggage to front access thru public bar then up 3 flights stairs. - no chairs - fridge sounds like a train. - 2 penny size soap bars for toiletries - cob webs everywhere - no lamps, only one main light - noisy all round. Great location but needs a major update. Stayed as last resort accommodation with other venues fully booked at the time & will be the last. P.S BYO ear plugs & toiletries.

Por favor instalen una puerta en la ducha, cambien la alfombra y brinden cobijas en las habitaciones, no todos los huéspedes quieren usar el aire acondicionado.

Rooms are average, but ok if you are just sleeping.some rooms are better than others, but I generally don't expect much from these pub type places. The staff are very polite, really good chicken Schnitzels, rump is ok.

Basic room but quite sufficient for our needs, and the price was perfect. The meal we had in the restaurant was exceptional (lamb shank with veg and a mixed grill), even though I couldn’t finish it. The chef gave us a complimentary sticky pork starter, which was to die for too! Well done!

Love all aspects, Arcadia upstairs which my daughter loves, nightclub downstairs which I absolutely love.

Yeah nah wouldn’t recommend, hotel room was really gross, mattress had blood stains with a sheet over the top (no mattress protector), 2 extremely flat pillows for 2 people, 2 sheets as a blanket, shower had no door or curtain, carpet was stained with god knows what. Would not like to walk barefoot on it, dead bird sitting on our window. The double bed was 2 mattress pushed together and they were long over due of a trip to the tip.

Visiting family in Dubbo and went for Saturday lunch 3 people had the roast special which was really good, 1 had the mix grill and I had the chicken schnitzel and it was a really large serving but very nice and tasty. The service was above and beyond we had a bit leftover of the schnitzel so they put it in a container and asked several times during the meal if everything was ok. Will be back on my next trip.

This was our 2nd stay at The Amaroo Hotel. We found the rooms pretty basic. No screens or curtains on the showers, no extra blankets or pillows in the rooms. The AC worked in one room but not the other, the fridge was on it's way out & the double bed we had was horrible (def had it's day (can feel the springs in the mattress). I doubt i would stay here a 3rd time. The place could definitely use a touch up & some TLC. The pub itself is fine but the accommodation is very ordinary.

Arrived at 9:00 pm to find that the room was not clean, bed unmade, no sheets towels. Service was very poor. Told to wait until someone could be contacted, no time give. Told by the Manager, Luke that “this is what you get for $100 in Dubbo.

Overnight stay, just passing through, for the money the room was satisfactory however it needed some tlc, the bathroom sink tap constantly dripped, lots of dust everywhere, things from previous guests were still in drawers including empty wine bottles, couldn't for the life of me get free to air TV?? Lifts not working, Staff were friendly
