I had a good roast meal here. The building is comfortable and it's a good place to visit. I've only been once as I was passing through town. The staff were friendly...no problems at the Bowlo.

Enjoyed a mid week dinner here with friends on an overnight stay in Armidale. We all loved our chicken schnitzels. Service very good despite being busy. Highly recommend.

Great food and atmosphere. The staff in both the bar and bistro were not only outstanding in their roles, but friendly and welcoming . Although we were there during a very busy time, the food was served within 20 minutes, serving entrees first and keeping an eye on us for when we had finished to bring out the mains. We appreciated this as we were worried it would all come out together..so good on them for not just getting people served as quickly as possible. The locals happy to have a chat and full of fun. Love this place. Wish it was my local.

We went here for dinner on Saturday night, mainly because we didn't have a car, it was rainy and we were staying in the Sandstock Motor Inn directly across the road from the club. We enjoyed a lovely meal in the bistro, an entree platter and the surf n turf schnitzel, it was very well priced and filling. The staff were very friendly and at 5.30, when it opened, there was no one else there so we served right away and our dinner came out quite fast. There are many options for seating around the club, so after dinner we sat in the lounge area, enjoyed a drink and watched the rest of the football. Before venturing back out into the cold and rain we purchased two take away coffee and cake deals from the Cafe at the end of the bar area and retreated back to our motel. We would not hesitate to come back again.

We went for 2 nights for dinner. The food was delicious and plentiful. Nice club staff were friendly.

Not sure where Mike ate when he was in Armidale but we have just had a delicious dinner at the Bowls club which is modern in decor, staff very friendly and food very good. Very busy with a mix of all generations!! Would recommend if staying in Armidale.

What a lovely little bowls club . Beautiful modern interior. Pleasant and friendly staff . Will definitely visit again . Going coffee and a lovely bistro .

Helpful staff reasonable price Sunday lunch

Ate at this club during our stay in Armidale. The evening we visited they had steak/schnitzel specials which were excellent value. Friendly, helpful staff.

Great food and service

This venue is super friendly, meals were a bit expensive BUT were massive so good value. It’s worth becoming a member so you can save on drinks and food. Cheap signup at the reception and you can use their member screens to win extra points and other free drinks. Staff are very accommodating and reliable. Parking is very easy with plenty within the venue grounds. You know the place is good by the amount of people coming in each day. Worth visiting if this is your local or passing through

Excellent food and service

Where do I begin? I walked into the morgue of a bistro after being made to feel like an outsider at reception for not being from the area. Only to be greeted by a dining room that looked as though it was once gods waiting room. Ordered our less than mediocre food and started to consume our cold frozen veggies and average schnitzel. I would have complained at this point if the manager was more interested in serving guests than grabbing himself a coke. At least they have chicken salt I guess? If you are looking for a cheap feed in a dingy bistro I would strongly recommend.

We’re passing through Armidale and stopped in at the Bowling Club for a casual dinner tonight. We found the staff to be very pleasant, the Bistro food to be fine and reasonably priced, so we would happily recommend it if you’re not looking for an expensive ‘fine dining’ experience.👌

When to the club. We had beautiful dinner. Very relaxing.

If you enjoy your dinning environment to include,, poor service. General wear——-short,, shorts, black rubber thongs. Dirty dinning chairs. Rude / condescending staff you will feel comfortable!. A few years back,, a lovely place to socialise . Above standard services. Professional ambiance!. SD.

Very poor service today. Screaming loud music overhead was our first impression, though it was turned down when we asked. Restaurant service aloof. Meal time changed since our last visit but a total lack of courtesy left us feeling unwelcome. Meal not up to usual standard. We left without our usual cake and pot of tea which seemed just too hard to co-ordinate with our meal order. We have previously proudly introduced friends and family to the club but today we would have been embarrassed had we taken others.

Great food

Nice food, pleasant atmosphere. One of the staff members looked like she was having a bad day, but she was polite and helpful anyway. Altogether, it was a nice experience.
