We spent $200 on food and soft and low alcohol drinks pre a gig at the Metro opposite. After the gig and still sober, the doorman wouldn’t let us in. He asked if we had been at the Metro and when we said yes, he said he couldn’t let us in. Gave no reason. We had overseas visitors and we explained how ‘nanny state’ the Sydney nightlife had become over the years, but didn’t expect this from the hotel we were in pre-gig. The police have changed the nightlife, but we hate that a bar can discriminate so freely. We suspect that they don’t want anyone over 35yo in the pub at night time, after reading similar comments. How atrocious if that is the case. A couple in our group are gay and we also suspect that they don’t want gays in the hotel in the evening. So dismissive the doorman. Seriously, hotels like yours make Sydney nightlife look terrible.

The Albion is the place to be if you’re looking for an amazing venue with down to earth vibes and chill staff to really kick your night off. The staff are the friendliest and most professional I’ve come across by far at any venue special shoutout to my girl Molly for her impeccable service and professionalism when serving customers.

This is very regular Friday lunch haunt for our office crew. (As of Feb 2025) the lunch & drink special is still $18.30; best choice being the steak (with great chips and salad) and a schooner of Young Henry's. And, nearly always, they are superfast. There are other lunch specials such as schnitty, fish-n-chips, etc. all good meals. (The only weak point was the burger, all the other options are really good). There's a lot of competition in this area and the Albion has found a way of providing a really good deal without skimping on quality or portions.

Nice place. Indoor and alfresco seating where you can watch the busy world pass you by. Happy Hour weekdays from 4 pm, lunch specials daily with other drinks discounts on the weekend. Live music every night from 6pm. And, to top it all off, the staff are very friendly

The Albion is the most friendly and amazing place you can go to, Kitty is absolutely incredible and is always so wonderful towards everyone. Jana makes great drinks and is always serving with a smile and is so friendly! The security (both Sams) are incredible and you can not ask for better.

Came here for a afternoon drink and I gotta say the staff are very friendly and love the happy hour prices for beer definitely a great little place to sit and have a drink also great live music for people definitely will be back here again next time I'm visiting Sydney again!

평일 12시부터 3시 런치밀을 이용했는데 인당 18 불에 훌륭한 식사였어요. 스테이크도 맛있고 스파게티도 좋았답니다. 1층은 빠 분위기라 조금 소란스럽지만 로컬스럽고 2층은 식당이라 조용히 이야기하며 먹기 좋아요.

Truly fab pub in the heart of town (next to Cinemas, 3 mins walk from Town Hall) with large glasses of vino for $12, very good food, often great live music (singers singing lovely songs whilst they also play guitar - I’m not usually a guitar fan, but I am when it’s sung with by the same person playing it & it is here). Fab staff (I work in Hospo so I know “the good from the bad”) who are always quick, helpful & funny (mandatory in Hospo). Big outdoor courtyard for food in the sunshine, big upstairs smoking room (under cover) plus Laneway smoking outdoor area for sunny days. These people get it right, together, & it’s inexpensive. Definitely 5 stars (usually 6). In this part of town it’s definitely in the top 3 right now 👍🏼✅🎉🍷🥂😇🌈👏🏼🍸

Petite soirée en couple en pleine semaine après une journée de visite de la ville de Sydney. On se pose là à 17h15, fatigués d'avoir beaucoup marché et très envie d'une bonne bière. L'immeuble et l'ambiance donnaient envie. Pas déçu de l'endroit. Après avoir apprécié 2 pintes de bières classiques locales, on enchaîne avec un ribs et une brochette de poulet grillé. Une petite erreur sur ma commande de ribs entraîne un peu de retard sur mon plat va m'empêcher de manger en même temps que ma conjointe. Une responsable se déplace immédiatement pour s'excuser et trouver la solution qui convient : réactive, commerciale, gentille. Parfait, bravo ! Je ne peux que conseiller ce bar pub. En plus les prix pour les français en voyage sont très corrects.

Albion Place Hotel is a fantastic spot! The food is lovely, and the service is always friendly. They offer both outdoor and indoor seating, so there’s something for everyone. The meal and drink deals throughout the week are great value, with cheap jugs of beer and delicious cocktails. The live music every evening from 6 pm adds to the wonderful atmosphere. Highly recommend for a fun and relaxed night out!

A pretty standard restaurant bar with a 20-30 something crowd. Good food. Good live music, at least on Friday night. Service with smiles. Nothing spectacular, but fits the bill.

A nice place to have a dinner with your friends. For 30USD your stomach will be full of delicious meat, beer & sauces. Highly recommend

Good little pub with happy hour. It's quite a small place but easily found in the heart of the city. The employees are lovely and are very quick to greet you and make you feel welcomed. It's mine, and my partners stop off place if we are having drinks after work or before a movie. I'd say get there quick as there isn't too much seating inside or outside. I haven't tried the food, so I cannot comment.

Grumpy/rude bar and waiting staff. Got our drink order wrong at least three times , when we asked for our correct drinks we were told to go to the bar downstairs and sort it out ourselves (we had a booked table upstairs)with subsequent wrong orders, we were told that we had been given the right drink and had trouble getting the correct one. Last wrong order we gave up and left it . Dirty floors and female toilets were unusable, one of our friends opted to wait to use the toilets at the metro station instead. Not a place where you can sit and chat unless you shout, it’s a place where you go and watch sports and get drunk, not a nice vibe at all

The food is alright but I was served the wrong drink multiple times. I ordered lift and the first time they gave me coke and then they went to fix it but then I ordered another lift and they gave me sparkling water and refused to believe that it wasn’t lift so then they eventually changed it and they gave me “lemon squash” which is lemon lime bitters so I eventually gave up getting my drink fixed. The staff members didn’t seem exactly welcoming but the food was fine. It was just standard pub food. Don’t think I will be coming back soon.

Great experience here for drinks & light meal last night. Food was delicious for a pub ! Salt & pepper squid was the best I’ve had in a very long time - cudo’s to you !!!!! Staff efficient & friendly - loved hearing them talk Portuguese !!

I think this place abuses their rights. My sister vomitted in stairs but before that it was all good, very well behaved. Security( Black guy) and Manager( Asian guy) went to girls toilet to check on them when I told them there’s someone to take care of her. It’s very abusive to go to girls toilet instead sending one of their girl staff. I wouldn’t recommend anyone going here anymore here for your safety and would definitely talk to police about this as well.
