A nice enough club but it felt like something was missing. Sure, the staff were friendly and helpful and there's lots of space, but the only patrons were old folks or gamblers. Plus, the cafe menu fare was extremely ordinary. And while it was a weekday morning when we visited, there was just some sort of spark missing from the place. Maybe I I'll visit another time just to make sure I'm not misguided.

Good environment and great staff. Decided to stay for dinner, roast pork with veggies and pork cutlet schnitzel with chips. The food in general was tasty but all elements were cold. Portion sizes were good but cold. Will not rush back for the food, disappointing.

Went there for lunch on Sunday 15/12... food has definitely gone down hill .. twice now with in a couple of months iv been disappointed with the feeds there ...don't think il waste my time going back there again

Great feed, and consistent the only thing from giving a five ⭐️ was the garlic prawns could have had a bit more garlic in them but other than that it was two of the best meals i’ve had from an RSL.The Orange ex services club could learn a lot from you. Chicken snitty night one and steak the second night with pepper gravy & friendly staff. Highly recommend…

Well appointed, good food. Clean.

Cold dinner. Garlic bread ordered to be brought out as an entree. It turned up with my cold roast dinner. My partner had an excellent hot dinner, so it is really hit and miss. Would give it another try if we were in the area again.

Had the Portuguese chicken and it was very good. The halloumi is sliced too thickly though. Needs to be sliced thinner before frying.

I ordered a steak with Béarnaise Sauce. I paid for the sauce accepting that named sauces like Béarnaise, red wine emulsions etc., are a challenge and take a bit of extra time and care. What i got didn't look at all to what I was expecting and didn't IMO taste like Béarnaise. A disappointing twist on a global favourite.

Large clean and comfortable dining room with variety of meals available . Arrived on a busy night meals arrived quickly without any delays. The mixed grill was almost perfect except for the cold chips . The staff were helpful and courteous definitely a standout at such a busy place

Being from interstate, where we don't have league clubs, we were made to feel welcome, and signing in was easy. An extensive menu with loads of choices. Went with a pizza. Highly recommend.

It was amazing the service...the food... the breakfast menu was expansive and not too pricey.

Mother's day breakfast. Unfortunately there was no flowers or decorations indicating it was mother's day . With only about 25 people dining we waited over an hour for a very basic breakfast. Iced coffee was delightful tho.

This is a very friendly club with very good food,reasonably priced.

We were looking forward to a lovely roast dinner after a day on the road so we went with the roast lamb dinner. A good serve of tender lamb came with much appreciated roast pumpkin and potatoes but that's where the good food ended. The plate was awash with water from the COLD Bain Marie soggy carrots, broccoli and beans. Disgusting ! What a shame . The actual surroundings in the club are very pleasant . My advice ? Choose the fish and chips or ANYTHING that doesn't have the awful soggy vegetables!..

It's a good place to hang around but you need to carry your id in case going for the first time.

Both my husband and I were very impressed with our meals at The Mill. He had the lamb shanks and I had the creamy pumpkin risotto. They were both delicious and the service was fast and friendly. Great atmosphere. Couldn't fault anything. We will be back whenever we're in Armidale.

Absolutely horrible meal. Ordered slow cooked beef ribs. They were cold in the middle, had obviously been refrigerated and then just microwaved when ordered. Full of bone and fat, paid $30 for the meal, $28 worth of fat!! Would not go back for a meal again.

Small kids area only for use of kids up to a certain height [about 5-6 years old on average]. Great mixed grill. I had the salmon with rocket salad. The salmon skin appeared a little burnt and the rocket salad was just a pile of limp leaves on top but it was absolutely delicious, the salmon skin was crispy, and the mashed potato was amazing

Beautiful club, as a returned ex service person I was, disappointed with the service in the dining room, I witnessed an, age physically challenged, lady had to go up to collect her meal, she could barely walk and was losing some of her food as she struggled back to her table, I understand that is the process but surely there is an exception for the aged and disabled; this was witnessed by the 4 staff members who were just standing around talking. As for the food (chicken schnitzel) was dry. The girl taking our order seemed annoyed at the time it took us to decide what was our choice, we had only just walked in 5 minutes earlier, from a 11 drive. I actually go to RSL's and ex service clubs to support the veterans, however, Armidale club is off my list.

First and last visit to this place. Food was overcooked, atmosphere poor. The wine list is very small and of poor quality. Not that cheap either.

Worst experience ever in Australia! Came there for chess tournament. I got food from an outside restaurant and took an orange juice from the Bistro, was having it in the bistro restaurant. After 15 mins one of the staffs came and politely told me that outside food is not allowed due to some food safety act, to which I said ‘sorry, I was unaware’ and immediately closed my food box, ‘packed the box inside the bag’. I went on to finish the juice to which the rudest manager ever came and said very rudely that ‘you need to dispose the bag due to safety concerns’. I took the bag and said ‘it’s inside the bag/cover and inside a box’. She starred and went. I finished my food , went and talked to her. She was the worst manager I have ever encountered in life talking very rudely. I said ‘with due respect my suggestion is at least you can have a board saying outside food is not allowed. She said extremely arrogantly ‘do you see anyone else bringing the food from outside’ to which I had to say ‘that’s not my job to see if your guests are bringing outside food. I closed my food and packed inside the bag after which it’s my private property. Being a manager this is not how you talk to your guests as if we are some untouchables bringing in germs’. I am so surprised you employ such grumpy females as managers who doesn’t even have basic mannerisms/etiquette . You can check the cameras- 9 September between 1.30pm-2pm. Oh yeah, when I asked her to check cameras if I have immediately closed the food complying to your staff or not, she said ‘I don’t have to check cameras lady!!’ I never broke any laws in whole of my stay in Australia as I respect this country and its laws. I politely said sorry to the staff who said outside food not allowed. Extremely disappointed with your restaurant manager’s behaviour. She immediately came to argue when I went to talk politely, didn’t even have patience to listen. You shouldn’t be appointing such personalities if they can’t handle work pressure or people and take it out on guests in the name of restaurant policies. I have zero tolerance to disrespect or humiliation. Sorry to say I found her racial too!! EVERYTHING ELSE IN YOUR CLUB IS WONDERFUL AND WELCOMING. We enjoyed rest of your services.
