Always friendly staff, very reasonable prices, good selection and great trading hours. Can't say anything bad about these shops.
Clean store, friendly staff
Lack of products and lack of replenishment to shelves it does not meet any criteria that you would normally expect from a local supermarket seems like the owners are not even caring or aware from what their customers need. Without sounding racist, it would be better to state it's an Indian grocery market instead.
Convenient store with very helpful staff 👍
I was shocked that most isles and freezers were mostly empty. If there were products on the shelves it was very little. Was not worth the trip to get something for tea as I just couldn’t find what I needed.
Check the date out before buying, they had a fridge full of expired milks 🤢
A small supermarket with all we needed friendly staff
Since IGA took over Flaxmill road shopping centre, it has not been as friendly or welcoming. I would not buy anything at all without checking the dates, as they sell things for full price that are overdue on the day or the next day. See bread labels. Purchased today Saturday 8th June 2024. Use by 8 June and 9 June.
Lovely place to get all your shopping cart and more...
Convenient when they have enough stock
If I could give no stars I would. I usually go in there to get cash out to pay my doctor the gap fee. However now they have a minimum cash out of $15. Pretty sure it's not legal. Honestly disgusting seeing as majority of the people going to the Doctors on flaxmill road are low income or pensioners that need this service. The store itself is like a barren wasteland and prices are ridiculous. I thought IGA would compete with the supermarket duopoly but nope. The fresh produce looks a bit shoddy as well . Don't waste your time here guys.
I stopped past here for a quick bite of lunch, but by golly this place is ancient! Almost like coming across some long lost mesoamerican city, the entire place feels like it was pulled forward in time thirty years and left to bake in the sun. Great for those in need of a nostalgia hit, or those that have never witnessed Australia prior to 2000. The services here are also good I'd like to update my review, they updated the building so now it matches the boring aesthetic found in many other shopping centres
This place is in need of new management the shop is poorly stocked they hardly have anything in there shop that is in there pamphlet they put signs on there shelves to reasons why they don’t have it , your can not get money out because there is something wrong with there eftos, but you can pay for things using eftos once again they will have sign telling you this, you are better of going to another shop save the disappointment and because you might have to anyway its my local just. Can’t use it anymore. The people behind the iga shops ned to remove the people running it ASAP its a terrible shop
Friendly staff, great prices, positive outlook with new owners. I have no hesitation in recommending this store
Great shop
This place is in desperate need of new management because they’re missing a huge opportunity here. We live next door so it’s convenient but it’s so poorly stocked you can rarely find the essentials. Fruit and veg is rotten or close to it. Last night my partner got some eggs and after cracking two that were rotten I discovered they were two weeks out of date so you can be sure stock rotation is non existent. They’re spending all of their time trying to prevent shoplifting without realising they have very little worth stealing and could be making a fortune if they just stocked what people actually need.
Great shop, friendly staff.
Went to Bradley's Bakery
Don't bother. New ownership hasn't a clue. Have worked in supermarket game long enough, 15 years. Any positive ratings are obviously fake. If u want to pay 4 times the price IF they are ABLE to actually have. They work by principle minimal sales at huge mark up. I used to get my balls broke for the few things I didn't factor in, out of stocks. A celebration here.
Prices not to bad and service is great.. good choices for drinks and what not..
Had what I needed.
Over priced feel very unsafe
Convenience plus
Nice options available, cheap price too.
Over priced Price is one thing on shelves then get to check out and the item ends up few dollars more! Never stocked up on everything, like batteries, fresh fruit and veg.
Interesting crowd
Lovely staff and good help
I don't usually shop there, but decided to get some items on my way from a neighbouring chemist. I was served by a young man who was very friendly and polite. Thanks, mate!
Needs to stock up with more items
In all my yrs of going to the Flaxies the staff has always been friendly and never have had a bad experience ever and they are close and handy
Love this place, great local, I prefer to shop here.
Pleasant experiences, reasonable prices
They havent as yet set everything up but looking ok
Good to see they are updating/renovating the store - it is well overdue but the prices are still way to high. Only good if you are desperate for some milk
We were served by a lovely young man named Jayden. Jayden is an absolute asset and went above and beyond with his customer service. Thank you for turning a potential tantrum into a positive experience for my little girl.
Bad customer service, poor attitude, disrespectful, hostile and poor reputation by a employee worker and service since new people took over..
Change of ownership has been dissapointing. Higher prices and less stock variety. Staff are still friendly and polite.
Was THE supermarket to go to in the area especially when the pandemic hit...sadly they have upped their prices to IGA urgent weekend grocery prices...now no trolleys so had to ask for help
If your a savvy shopper write down the shelf ticket price of everything you get. Then at the checkout ask them to adjust the prices on there computer you will save around 20%.
Friendly staff good prices. Currently being renovated once finished it will be great
Nice people with good staff
The staff are always polite and helpful.
Very friendly staff, and approachable, professional.
The staff were friendly and helpful they do have good specials at times
Good shop easy access never have to wait long
Expensive since new owners took over.
Excellent
They are open every day of the year I have a very good range it's products and nice bunch of people
Just called in
Used to use as our local shop all the time, but within the last six to twelve months, they have been trying to rebrand itself as a foodland, DOUBLING most of the prices, while shrinking stock, and replacing nearly every employee they originally had. All the kind people I used to be served by, are all completely gone, bar one. Go to IGA on Elizabeth Rd instead.
Great for stopping in to grab groceries on the way home
nice people who work in the shopping center
Man serving dressed in a xmas suit jacket seemed to be high as a kite and kept swearing, there was children in the line and this guy is bouncing around behind the counter dropping f" bombs. As a customer service manager myself I can honestly say that this is unacceptable. Will most certainly not be back."
Wow was the best local shop that was full of people I myself spend 50 to 100 everyday .. but now with change of owner the prices are threw the roof an never any stock most of Christie downs are finding there way to other shops for reasonable prices very depressing seeing it empty it's like what happen when COVID hit the shops but imagina the highest price you've ever seen many of us go to Elizabeth Rd or colonnades for our budget buys new staff are mean aswell anot a nice place anymore
Great, it has stuff I can't get a big supermarkets. Like a variety of Bickfords cordials I can't normally get eg. pink grapefruit. Staff seem nice.
Shops
Small but handy shopping centre with supermarket, t/a chicken shop, chemist, bakery, and pizza shop.
Great place
Great little place, clean and inviting.
Convenient but a little pricey
