Good location close to the river. No food was available at the time we visited. Staff didn't seem very happy to be at work. Not one Staff member smiled.

Lovely old pub that has been redone brilliantly. Very nice food and value for money. Regular live entertainment.

I have not been here previously. It was clean, light filled (inside downstairs), and a good atmosphere. We had a work lunch here with about 30 people. They managed all the lunches just fine, rather promptly even. The staff were polite, had the meals orders well organised and no one had to put their hand up when a meal came out. I had a baked barramundi salad - it was good, and I'd recommend my wife have it if we go back there. The shnitzels were normal size, which some of the guys were disappointed about, but maybe all these super-size schnitzel challenges have raised the bar on the minimum standard (size) for a schnitty. I'll go back there for sure, maybe even for a few drinks after work, or on the weekend with my wife and kids.

Good food and location

Great Pub Down in Port Adelaide, right on the docks and always a high possibility to seen pods of dolphins swim by no longer than 20m from the door.

I was told “sit anywhere there isn’t a menu”then told to move as regulars use that table “every body knows that” even though there isn’t a menu. The lamb stew I expected from the British Hotel would be like a British one was flavoured with herbs I would expect on an Asian disk. A large Shiraz is $20 - so disappointing

Good food and service

The team at The British are friendly and warming , great cosy place for a meal and a pint. Kids are welcomed and lots of space. We will definitely go back there and support our local

One of Port Adelaide's finest. Renovations don't take away from the history of the hotel. Friendly staff, reasonably priced food, and a great vibe. Give it a go!

Extremely good food and it was at a good price

Our Family dinner celebration was exceptional

It was a very enjoyable meal, just a nice size. My husband had a beef schnitzel and it was a thick piece of meat instead of a thin dry piece of crumbed meat. So will go back

Please don’t advertise your fish as cod. The fish you serve is Hake also known more commonly as Butter fish

Great local in PA SA for a good half price steak and beer on Wed. They pour a great Kilkenny and Guinness. The view from upstairs on the balcony is nice too 😎

Good vibes and wonderful staff

The location was good, and the service was excellent. The meals were on the small size. The other 3 people with me also mentioned their meals were on the smaller size.

I went here for lunch with my carer today and the food was delicious I had lasagne and it was yummy the staff were very friendly definitely coming back

Wife and i got the seafood compo seeing as this place is on the coast.A piece of frozen battered fish 3 pieces of frozen battered shrimp some chips and salad and two oysters .The oysters were the only good part .So with our two drinks $120 .So basically 120 for terrible fish and chips .We were very disappointed.😪

Toughest steak I have ever paid for and didn't eat all of. Advised at payment and was told they would let the kitchen know. The dining experience view and decor was like an RSL. Will not go back.

Only stopped in for a quick Guinness so can't say too much. Was pretty quiet for a Saturday night but Guinness was good and was brought over to me which is nice service for a pub these days.

Ordered the beef and bacon cheeseburger. I saw no bacon. I was told they minced it into the patty. I tasted no bacon. I was sad.

Perfect location for our function. Love the private upstairs balcony and bar. The food is OK, the service is great and there's plenty of free parking in the carpark. Best views overlooking the port River.

I visited with a group of 14 people for lunch. The service was great and the food was good. Two in the group ordered a BLT wrap and were not too impressed with the sweet chilli sauce in the wrap.

We recently held a 21st in the riverside room. The venue, food and staff were amazing. Ash and his team was extremely attentive and accomodating through the whole process, we couldn’t have asked for more. Highly recommend!!

Went for lunch for 5 people. Service was excellent. Nice and clean. Small play area for kids. Bottled water on table. Soup and garlic bread was very tasty.

The decor is truly delightful! Staff & management provided excellent service. The quality of our lunch was excellent! Would happily recommend?

A wonderful meal all of us enjoyed what we had. Nice place clean snf friendly.

Meal was very very ordinary. New menu, no excuse. Terrible schnitzel. Thin and dry. Barramundi was small, over cooked. Chips Terrible, dry. Garden salad 2 slices cucumber, 2 slices flowery tomato, some thinly sliced red onion, little grated carrot and small bits of butter lettuce leaves. No salad dressing. The whole service was very haphazard. Won't be recommending or going back in the near future. So sad. Use to be really good.

As a regular visitor to the pubs of Port Adelaide the British hotel meal portions were much smaller and more expensive compared to all the other local hotels in the area

Beautiful spot this I will definitely be returning to this venue on the often.
