First time experience and was amazing staff beautiful food and presentation and tasteful beverages and great atmosphere I will absolutely recommend coming back or anyone to try this place!
Great spot for lunch or drinks with friends. Sitting outside is perfect in the warmer weather. The ploughman's boards are our favourite.
Great service and sensational fisherman’s platter. Highly recommend.
Great service and food. We very much enjoy our visit and the staff were wonderful!!
Good old fashioned pub with generous serves and typically pub food.
Had a really lovely time and meal here... I will be back
Wonderful staff, on arrival in Winter asked to move to the fire as so inviting, staff able to accomodate. Steak cooked to perfection. Highly recommend. Great menu & outdoor area too.
Vegan options
Really delicious food, great service and nice atmosphere. Very family friendly with a nice play area outside for kids we will be back :)
Cute family pub with good food.
Great food.
Pleasant pub-like environment for a bench-based garden lunch or dinner or indoor table-based setting. Non-fussy, simple food presented briskly (but not hurriedly) and with generous servings. We spent $168 for 3 people’s mains and 2 glasses of GOOD Prosecco and coffees. Plenty of parking.
We stopped here for lunch after visiting Kings Falls. The food was lovely and the staff were very understanding of my sons disability and were happy to have a chat to him and keep him happy. We will definitely be coming back
Went for dinner, nice atmosphere looking out over the beach when seated outside. Only downside was we were told we couldn't get a table inside as they are for reservations only, despite being several tables empty the entire time we were there.
Had lunch at Pig and Whistle today with four friends We had great charming service from all the staff and we all enjoyed our meals which are very generous in size and were served in a timely manner at a reasonable price Will definitely be going back Thank you Pig and Whistle
I’ve been here a few times and have always enjoyed it thoroughly, hence returning. That being said, last night we came with some friends to celebrate a birthday and sitting outside with the gorgeous view on a summer evening was beyond divine. Our dinner was absolutely delicious (I enjoyed the pie, absolutely scrumptious!) and the fish of the day was also delicious. The kitchen staff obviously take great pride in their work and use lovely fresh ingredients. The floor staff were extremely friendly, even on the tail end of a long and busy period they were delightful. Thank you for having us, I will be back again and again !
really bad service! i understand we went there on busy day but the staff just really wanted us to just leave! felt pretty bad
I know they were busy, but the staff were very rude and dismissive when we asked if we could get a table. Won't even bother to try again.
Wholesome food and drink, great vibe
Extremely poor customer service and overpriced, mediocre food at best. Waited an hour for a steak and guinness pie. The waitress didn't warn us about the excessive wait, and even when we followed up our own order, there was no apology or acknowledgement that we had been waiting for so long. Pie itself tasted like chuck steak and only had one bit of pastry on top (so I wouldn't really call it a pie). $34 for that tiny portion, plus lumpy mashed potato and peas. At no point did any staff ask if we would like another drink. Instead, they would hastily take away our glasses. This didn't bother us, however, as at this point, we had been waiting for our food for just over an hour and simply wanted to leave. Politely passed on feedback to another worker saying that wait staff should (at the very least) give us a heads up that it'll be an hour's wait. Seems this issue has been a problem for a while, upon reading the reviews. Even while we were waiting for our slop pies, we witnessed other tables complain about their orders. Overall, massive waste of money.
Waited well over a hour to be served the worst beef and guinness pie I've ever had the displeasure of eating. Absolute slop covered with one slice of pastry at the top, which they have the hide to charge $34 for. Not to mention the worst restaurant served mashed potato I've ever had - absolutely clumpy, I could do a better job at home. Staff never once mentioned the excessive wait time and weren't the slightest bit apologetic about it. I have never been more disappointed to pay $50 for a meal and beer in my life, never again.
Nice venue and good food.
Great meals, entertainment. Staff very friendly and efficient.
It's been a long time (more than 30 years) since I've been here, and it's even better than I remembered. Great food and friendly staff. It won't be so long until I'm back again.
Staff were excellent, fun and great at service. Food and drink was also good. Will be going back
We had our staff party here and had a wonderful time. The staff were so accommodating and friendly, especially Bella. She was so welcoming and easily adapted to any changes we needed to make, and completely worked around us even when it was probably annoying. Always had a smile and friendly attitude!
Enjoyed a great meal. Daughter had the Chicken Parma which was large and hadn't been overdone (like so many are with very hard crusts). My wife and I both had the Beef and Guinness pie with peas and mash which was excellent. Meat was so tender and the gravy delicious. Great full table service. Plenty of off street parking.
Great food and a good selection of beers. Generous serving sizes and fast service. Gardens are beautiful and lots of open grass for the kids.
Beautiful grazing platter and great service. Flathead was very fresh.
Lovely little venue. Would have liked a dance floor. Otherwise a great night for a young start up band and a significant WoW for the CJ Commerford &The Supertones. Limitless Talent. Beaut Sound and Energy.
We had a private party last Friday evening for 25 and our 2 meals got way layed, and we had to wait an extra hour ,the guy behind the bar was a real idiot no people skills. and when our meals was presented it was cold . No apologies nothing. Sorry pig and whistle but your whole venue sucks.we will be telling our mates to bypass your overated venue.
We went in for Fathersday, my meal was ok. B7t the roast of the day was tough as boots.
I came here mid November for lunch after a 15 km hike. I ordered the fish and chips because of the positive reviews here. It didn't disappoint. There were 4 slices of flathead that were juicy on the inside but crispy on the outside. The chips were very crispy. The slaw-based salad went well with the meal. The service was very good with friendly staff. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area.
We (3 of us) love The Pig. We come here 5 or 6 times a year for lunch, usually after golf. Love the setting, love the menu (usually The Parma) and love the service (usually Chelsea). Thanks everybody.
🍻
Always a lovely experience! We only ever come here when we’ve been down to the beach for a weekend and every time it has been a lovely experience. The food is delicious, I Highly recommend the bangers and mash! Inside can get a little noisy when it’s busy but other than that it’s a great venue!
Great place to visit on the Mornington Peninsula for food and to watch a band
A great venue beautiful gardens and views your eyes can't believe..l can't fault the hospitality
Atmosphere was great Food delicious Fantastic staff - will be back
Great place to catch up with friends for a drink and some food. Lovely outside setup to relax and for the kids to run around.
Five Star rating for excellent service and food! Well done on friendly efficient service and food to ‘die for’ . We had the Calamari - melt in your menu mouth And Apple Crumble and Sticky date pudding- YUM! Will definitely be back for third visit. Thank you.
Didn't stay. Had lunch. Awesome authentic English pub and beers . Get busy on wkds at lunch but food delish!
Absolutely wonderful place to relax, hang out, enjoy the open space and good food. Pup friendly too!
Great venue and friendly staff. Food was well portioned and they are very dog friendly. Guinness on tap was delicious - highly recommend!!
Called in on the Saturday night with three people and they squeezed us in even though the place was heaving. Food was very nice, and the ambiance was great. Would definitely go again.
Absolutely the most pleasant experience..The waiting staff were awesome...The food was delicious...and your warm welcome to our 'God'⬅️ 'Bertie ' was so much appreciated...Keep up the fabulous foodie indulgence...Liz , Pete and Albert🐕
Great place with a unique and original vibe, good beers and food, and kid friendly outdoor area.
I dropped into this pub and enjoyed the great meal and personalised service .
A warm and cozy place to enjoy the afternoon, delicious food in generous portions, courteous service.
Found this cute English pub last road trip and decided to come back again during long weekend. Had a great time and spent the whole afternoon-night here. The staffs were really nice. The food menu was pretty decent, all the classic pub foods you could think of. Love the beer selection. Only down side is the kitchen closes fairly early in the afternoon but reopens at 6pm. Parma was alright but love the steak and chips. Plenty of parking and very family friendly, especially with such a nice outdoor garden area. Perfect for a good sunny day. Would come back again.
What a cute little pub 😍😍 meals are reasonably priced, big portions and the staff are so friendly!! The food comes out so fast and they even put the ice in the cups then fill the jug with whatever drink you order so you actually get the most out of what you pay for 😊 even nice to see the staff smiling dancing and singing at the front desk ☺️☺️ definitely coming back to try more dishes the burgers looked huge and lots of people ordering the Guinness pie by the looks of it 🤤
Very rustic tavern - love the rustic atmosphere 👌💋
My friend had to use up a coupon which the proprietor had kindly extended due to all the Covid restrictions. Saturday July 3, was a cold, wet and windswept day and as we had brought our doggies we of course needed to sit outside. Luckily, being experienced Melburians, we were rugged up. The ploughman’s lunch for two was very generous and delicious. Despite the adverse weather we really enjoyed ourselves. My only suggestion would be that they create a sheltered outdoor area (we were huddled under an umbrella) to cater for winter visitors with doggies. Service was excellent and a beautiful location.
We came here as a family of 4 and for a cold spring Saturday evening, it was pretty busy! There is a great garden area outside for the kids to run around and enjoy. The beer garden would be amazing in Summer! Inside was a full on British pub style atmosphere, the only down point was that despite no live music (or any music that I could hear) it was too loud to have a conversation and relax during the meal. The wait service was quick and friendly, the food was nice but not extraordinary. Would love to come back in Summer to check it out.
Amazing dining experience, parking was a bit tricky
Food below average, lady at the front desk makes you feel like you’re an inconvenience. Lady that served us was at least friendly
Fabulous place, great food ,staff were wonderful
We were staying in Red Hill and went there two nights in a row. The food was very nice and the staff were excellent and friendly. I would definitely recommend this place. Although don't go too hard on the Kilkenny's they will catch up with you.
Beautiful place and i loved the fish of the day! Full of flavours!
Warm and cosy by the open fire on a wet and miserable day.
So beautiful place and so so so yummy food
一定要來 味道 環境 價格 正正正
Wine is very expensive
Sunday lunch was packed out, so essential to book and it took a while to get served. About 50 minutes to receive out meals My wife had the steak and Guinness pie, which was very tasty and an excellent gravy with lots of succulent meat. This came with mash and peas so a bit unimaginative and with far too many peas. Sausage and mash (and peas) had tasty Cumberland sausage but slightly overcooked and a bit dry. I guess they have to cater for the large numbers, We will probably fo back. But try to fins a quieter time
The food and beers are good, but it took a while to arrive! The customer service needs to be improved, the waitress was rude.
A good although messy burger 🍔
Cozy spot up near Arthur’s seat for a few drinks and great food
Do so love this establishment. A great English pub in the Australian bush. Wonderful anytime of year. Warm fires inside to sit by when it's chilly outside. Then their great outside area on warm sunny days. We had the fisherman's ploughman plus a regular ploughman between 4 of us. Ample and delicious.
I booked in for Sunday lunch (21/7/24) and as Heidi explained the venue was heavily booked, I was uncertain whether our table would situated in a good spot. Upon our arrival I was pleasingly surprised to be taken to a table right next to the fire with a great view of the surrounding garden. We shared a Ploughman's Lunch, which is easily enough for two, some Gapsted Estate shiraz (one of the best Victorian wineries IMHO) and I pushed myself to have the chocolate brownie dessert. The service was top shelf, atmosphere lively and enjoyable, food is very good, surroundings offer a lovely garden walk after eating (in good weather!) and the venue is recommended for any occasion. Thanks to all the staff for an enjoyable lunch.
Great food. Huuuge kids serves. Can't wait to go back in summer and sit outside..
I like the rustic decor. The fish I got was beyond delicious. The chicken parma my boyfriend got was underwhelming but I guess this dish is limiting by itself. Cocktails were delicious.
Still the best pub on the Mornington Peninsula 🍻👌
Awesome Atmosphere. Grounds are Stunning. Great pub food.
