Nightcap at Hendon Hotel

Stayed here while attending LIV Golf, Location was great, the staff were absolutely amazing and the food was great! Rooms were really clean and I was worried I'd be hearing noise from downstairs but I didn't hear a thing.

A great place to stay and eat that is affordable and good value for money.|The staff are very friendly, helpful and considerate and made us feel at home.|The beds are comfortable and the room clean.|The meals were a generous size and delicious. |I would definitely stay here again.

Had a great time here! The rooms were clean and warm which in the middle of winter is a good thing. The location was quiet, although cause of the thin walls we could hear the loud off key singing of some very drunk women in the room next to us. Thankfully we had earplugs so we slept well. But what stood out here was the service. The service was exceptional, the staff super friendly and at every turn they made you feel warm and invited. Nothing was too hard. Would highly recommend this place, just bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper!

Good food and service

I played the pokies here today. I had a win. I went to buy two bottles of drinks to bring home. The girl took the tops off. I said I want to take them home. I couldn't take them out of the hotel with tops on I was told to go through the drive through. So I came home with nothing. That has never happened before.

DO NOT STAY HERE! There was blood on the door frame of my room when I checked in. I told the cleaner about it, came back later that evening and it was still there!! Also, straight after checking out, I realised I left an item in my room & the staff would not let me back in the building! Nor would they collect the item & bring it downstairs to me, told me I had to wait an hour until they opened. Save yourselves the hassle & find somewhere else!

I stay here every couple of weeks, for work. I tried a few other hotels and then settled on staying at the Hendon. The first reason is that the rooms are always cleaned thoroughly and properly. The second reason is that the manager, Rebecca, is the epitome of excellent customer service. She always greets my partner and I with a warm smile, and always goes above and beyond to make sure that we feel welcome. Good old-fashioned genuine customer service.

Nobody behind the bar/service area a couple of times I went looking.

Very professional receptionists that double as bar staff. I was late when I arrived but delighted to be met with a smiling face. I was kind of starving but delighted that they were able to serve a chicken roll with chips at around 10pm.

Cannot fault the staff, very friendly and helpful. The bar was great. Unfortunately no restaurant available during our stay due to lack of staff. Bar snacks were available though. Room was very well set up and cannot fault the comfort of the bed, the shower quality or the facilities in general. Our room was made up during our visit, which we weren’t expecting, but it was a lovely surprise to get fresh towels and have our bed made when we returned from a day out. ||However, the music is so loud from downstairs, it sounds like there is a speaker right inside the room! From 8am until 2am, we couldn’t even watch tv as the volume from the tv didn’t go loud enough to drown out the music. We mentioned it to the lady behind the bar, but as she was on loan from a different hotel, she had no idea how to turn it down for us.

Our recent overnighter at the Hendon Hotel was a pleasure. The staff on arrival were very pleasant and quite helpful. An added bonus was the Saturday arvo complimentary snacks for all in the bar, which happened to be BBQ during our visit.|Our room was of a good size, the bed was very comfortable and there was only a slight technical issue with the air conditioner, which was promptly fixed by Karen.|The shower had plenty of hot water, and also the cubicle was of a decent size.|Car parking off street was available and safe.|We will stay again if we are in this area of Adelaide, we'll done Hendon staff.

Even though it's right above the bistro and a bar, the sounds are not intruding. The room is small and great for a solo traveller one night stay.

The staff were welcoming and helpful. The room was nice and clean with great air conditioning. The shower was wonderful. Would definitely stay here again.

THE ROOM SERVICE IS EXCELLENT. I WISHED THE ROOMS WERE LITTLE BIGGER AND HAD A KITCHENETTE OR A BREAK FAST BAR. THE RESTAURANT TIMINGS WERE RESSTRICTIVE AND NO BREAKFAST IS SERVED IN THE RESTAURANT.

Was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the room and the staff who were very attentive.||The only downside was the continuous hum of music until 3am on Saturday night/Sunday morning. As there is no phone in the room to contact reception had to resort to wearing earplugs. I believe several other guests have complained about this in the past so the property are fully aware of this issue. Overall though great value for money.

We really try to make the best of every experience and don't like to complain but there were a few issues we can't deny or ignore.||||Our sleep quality was poor every night. From the sounds of pokies machines, loud visitors in the smoking area beneath our window until late hours (even on weekdays), hearing other guests through the walls (coughing, sneezing, talking, children, stomping/banging, the constant hun of someone's air con or something, even using the toilet).||||The bed was much too soft for our liking (although some guests may like it as it was) we had terrible back aches and still do even having returned home.||||The grey fluffy blanket provided had a large stain which appeared to have been wet, then dried hard. One of the pillows had a terrible smell - we thought it was the pillow case but after removing it, found the pillow had a large yellow stain beneath - the source of the smell.||||No microwave; one would have been very helpful. Pleased to have a kettle, fridge and iron with board though.||||The room itself looked pleasant and was very clean, including the bathroom and fridge. Huge shower head which was a bonus.||||Unable to open the room window so felt a bit smothered sometimes, some fresh air would be nice.||||Appreciated the free drink voucher and 20% discount on meals in the bistro. The bar/reception/waitress staff were fantastic, very friendly, eager to help and professional.||||Unfortunately, mostly due to our very poor sleep, we can't justify the price & won't be returning or recommending staying here. Thank you to the staff for their efforts though, it did go a long way and was the most appreciated point of our stay.

Fantastic place to stay. Simple, clean welcoming and very polite staff. We arrived right when the kitchen closed but the bar lady(I think her name was Kaitlin) went and got our dessert for us. Such friendly and attentive staff. Well done. Highly recommend. Also because we booked direct we got complimentary breakfast in a box which was the perfect size. Thankyou again and highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in Adelaide. Will definitely be a return customer.

Staff are really great. If you are choosing to stay here, it is a bit noisy with music from the gaming room. Suggest ear plugs if you dont stay up late.

It’s ugly from the outside but well presented on the inside. ||The staff were great except for the gaming manager who was more interested in showing patrons pictures on his phone than serving.||The room I stayed in looked great and had great facilities but sadly The speakers for the music from the restaurant made up my floor. I had to have the TV on for white noise to drown out the sound. Music went off at 2am and was back on again at 8am.|I all honesty if that could be fixed I would have rated 5 stars.||

Having read previous reviews about this hotel and staff I was amazed at how many whingers there seems to be out there. I can speak nothing but praises about the staff, in particular Matt and Shaneille who were most helpful and courtious. The venue itself is in the process of renovation but the place is very clean and comfortable particularly the rooms that have already been completed and I'm sure that when its all done it will be a credit to the area. Well done Matt keep up the good work.

Just that the carpets in the rooms could do with a steam clean. Other than all that, the service was excellent. The staff were wonderful and I would recommend for anyone to stay there. A very down to earth environment. Family orientated, which I enjoyed.
