My family and I had the pleasure of visiting the RSL on Sunday evening, where we met a wonderful young man named Ben. It’s rare these days to come across someone so polite and kind. Ben took the time to chat with us and was genuinely thoughtful, making our night all the more enjoyable. The RSL should be proud to have him—young people like Ben truly give you faith in the next generation. We look forward to visiting again and hope to see him there.

We decided to have our meeting over dinner somewhere cool given the hot weather. The service was excellent and the food really good.

Amazing staffs at a great venue... A huge thanks to the staffs and Manager for looking after mum. We took mum there for lunch. Unfortunately she wasn't feeling well when we arrived. Mum said she didn't want any lunch and would be happy to wait at reception while we have our lunch. We were early and knew it would be a quick lunch, so I made her comfortable and proceeded with our orders. When I checked on her, she was lying down to rest instead of sitting up. The Manager came over to check if she's OK and offered to find a spot in their library for her to rest while we have our lunch. However, we decided to take mum home. The staffs quickly organised our meals to take home. What a fantastic gesture from the Manager and staffs at the RSL Box Hill. The Seafood Platter we took home was amazing. The battered fish was so well prepared that the batters were still crispy even after being packed and brought home. All components of the seafood platter was delicious and generous portions. The staffs were super friendly and most welcoming from the moment we stepped into the foyer. As previously mentioned, the Manager was so attentive and caring. Thank you. The venue has high ceiling and open spaces. Tables are well spaced so you feel very private even in the middle of the room. It was unfortunate we were not able to enjoy our lunch there yesterday. But we will definitely be back and will organise future meets there.

One of the more nicely renovated and a feel of high end restaurant RSL around. We loved the war memorial display. Service was excellent. However, the food was a little let down. For the price tag, we expect a little bit more in portion and taste.

Reasonable prices, friendly service (but a bit slow because so busy), spacious, and free on-site parking (for which on-street signage could be better) - I liked it.

Excellent food, ambiance and friendly staff.

Very rude reception staff. We tried to use the services at RSL today by showing foreign ID or copy of passport but the staff informed us that these documents cannot be accepted, we must show the original passport and asked us how long we have been here. Sorry we live here and we know the rules but your staff discriminated against us.

The short bald man at the front is very demanding and rude on entry. Demanding ID to be scanned and when asked stating “because we are a club.” Food decent but very average. Small servings. AVOID THIS PLACE!!!

...it's my home away from home. The staff are always courteous, approachable and competent. The collection of war memorabilia is second to none; most I am told is donated from current and past members, one example, a handwritten letter to a loved one, sent via torn clothing in a makeshift envelope. One of the best places I have been to in a long time , great food friendly staff and quick service with reasonable prices.

I froth over the roast beef here. Served blushing with Yorkshire pudding. New bar Reno's look great.

Good service. Had grilled John Dory, which tasted and looked off, though we can't point out exactly how. Staff was courteous and followed up promptly. We changed to a different fish dish.

Was invited to the RSL venue for dinner. Was not sure what to expect but previous experience was not the best. Not really noted for good food however l was certainly pleasantly surprised. The meals and venue were of a high standard and really appreciated the new experience. Good service and pricing that venues are still coming to terms post Covid, yes even after a couple of years. Definitely worth another visit or two for the future.

Very nicely presented. Good food, but nothing fantastic. The RSL prices here are higher than most RSL clubs. And they don't seem to have reciprocal arrangements for rsl member card holders.

good environment and good price

I dropped in for dinner, and l pleasantly surprised at the quality of my meal compared to the last time l at there a few years ago. I ordered porterhouse steak with mixed vegetables, and it was delicious. I also received a decent sized serving of broccoli, roast potatoes, and roast pumpkin. Excellent food at a reasonable price.

The Cobb loaf did not taste like it had garlic. The pork roast had no crackling and only 2 bits of broccoli. The rest was potatoes and pumpkin.

Nice selection of beer, needs the tab machine back be good when renovations are finished.

Waiting staff are rude. They give you wrong accompliments with meal & when waitress was told, dont care just shrugged it off. Even worse, ended up extremely violently ill with confirmed food poisoning after the meal. Had not eaten all day before meal, so know it was the meal I had there. Told them & they didn't follow up on it & get back to me. Don't recommend this place! REPLY TO OWNERS RESPONSE: NO, you have not reached out once to me & in fact I had to call you twice. So your reply is inaccurate to say the least!

Mostly positive and good

So glad we found the Box Hill RSL the meals are really great with a vast selection to suite everyone or just call-in for a coffee and cake. Staff were terrific, Michael and Tara to greet you on the way in and Shriya and all the waite and bar staff all so helpful and friendly. We highly recommend the Box Hill RSL.

Went there a few weeks ago. Absolutely wonderful food and such caring staff member. Always checked to see if we were enjoying the food and priced well. 5 stars! well done Box Hill RSL!

Best Scotch steak

The Box hill RSL venue was amazing! The food was spectacular, a great variety on the menu for our fussy eaters. Clean and spacious with a great view of the lawn bowls, we are looking forward to seeing the new addition when they are finished

Excellent quality and value for money full both times I’ve been (Sunday and Friday lunch) definitely worth booking I will definitely be going again in the near future Flathead tails were large and batter was crisp and not greasy ample salad and chips

Great environment with Parking worry free. We have ordered the Fish dishes and burger. Beautiful fish done with Crispy Skin plus tender perfect texture fish. Will definately recommend to dinning there. Compare with Cafe around, I will save some trouble to book around but come here to enjoy the food.

Great place for a Sunday dinner. Staff were friendly except the guy at the bar who was stiff and unfriendly. Food was great and reasonably priced. Getting in was also a hassle as we were asked for photo ID. We were not prepared as no one asks for ID to have dinner ☹️

Absolutely could not fault the service, staff very friendly, great customer service. Meals were very tasty. The decor is awesome, the whole club is very clean and feels very welcoming. AAA+++ Can't wait to visit again next time we're up that way.

Great service and a beautiful pan fried salmon. Jul 24 menu has changed but service remains great.

Ordered a chicken schnitzel and came out under cooked and dripping with oil and soggy. Took it back to the kitchen and get told that is how they cook them and that is the best they can do. Out of the 7 meals ordered only 3 were decent

Absolutely love to visit this place. Staff a very friendly. Food is awesome. I love the look of the place too. Wish there was a club like this where we live. Highly recommended AAA+++

I give 2 stars this time , location and environment is good as usual, the food we had here before was good too. But the food we ordered this time is really disappointing. We ordered lamb cutlet the first time here, priced at $45 but only 3 pieces was served and one of them was very small. moreover, the taste was bad we cannot even finish the 3 pieces because it taste so bad. I provided feedback , they said they can compensate with a cake or other side dishes, but we are not interested(they didn’t offer refund money option which they should , I didn’t request either ). Even the inflation is high these days, but this is only a standard hotel restaurant you need to line up to pay your meal upfront. $45 for 3 little terrible taste lamb cutlet is definitely a shame. We felt upset and have to find other food to eat afterwards.

You MUST visit RSL Boxhill. Business facilities, Functions, dinning. It's incredible. Recently refurbished. Looks incredible. Im excited to one be able to use the board room & library...yeah.. unbelievable. Gus RSL Boxhill Member...😁😁

Very pleasant area to sit. Ordered roast and received a generous serve. Chef could do with an electric knife as meat came in very thick slices and chunks which were difficult to chew. Otherwise the meal and service were excellent and would not hesitate to return.

This is a very large RSL located on prime realestate in Box Hill near the CBD. It has on-site multilevel car parking that free to patrons. It's a licensed gaming venue with gaming machine, several bars and dining rooms. Public toilets accommodating male, female and disabled patrons. Wheel chair friendly venue.

Beautiful food and service

Good food, great service and relaxing place to have a cup of tea/coffee with small biscuit or cake with book/newspaper/lab top; in a busy place like Boxhill.

Chips are the very best

Looks like a nice place... But never got to check it out though I was delivering them new chairs 🙂
