Absolute best quality and quantity for the best price for a roast pork and vegetable or chips is unbelievable but truly is a stand alone week day, midday sit down lunchtime choice .

Room wasn't worth the price . Have stayed in better rooms for less the price.

Stayed in a motel room last night , booked a king room and got queen room . Cobwebs above TV and rubbish bin hadn’t been emptied . Room very average. Staff were less than friendly , seemed like it was too much trouble .

We stayed at the hotel 3 nights. It's nice place to stay, nice and peaceful location. Friendly and helpful staff. Roon were very good size and neat and tidy.quiet happy with custom service and parking heaps of space. A small backyard with sitting outside is lovely too 😊 Also not far from hibart as well

Just reviewing the food. Recently my Daughter went to this pub for a birthday celebration at least 3 of the young ladies got food poisoning from some chicken. This was just before end of year exams and some of the group were unable to sit their exams.

The meals were copius but the pork roast was luke warm and the sea scallops were greasy and soggy. Overall a sense of disappointment despite the abundance.

The rooms were neat and clean, well appointed. I also ate at the dining room and had the scotch stack. It was very nice. It's only an overnight for me but the staff were nice and the location was good.

The actual place isn't too bad, it was very clean inside. The man and woman who served us behind the bar were nice. But this is where the good part ended. I ordered a chicken snitzel and chips and my partner ordered fish and chips. The chicken snitzel was way over cooked and very chewy i had to leave most of it, the chips were undercooked, at least the pepper gravy was nice. The fish was rubbery like it had been in the fridge or freezer for a while the batter tasted of nothing and was very dry. We were waiting for the young girl to ask how our meals were but she just cleared the plates. Who ever is back in the kitchen cooking these meals has no talent as a cook and needs to be fired asap

Had the thinnest t bone steak there in my life staff forgot gravey and meal nearly finished before it arrived and this was the chef special was not impressed

Went to the local pub for a meal with friends and got served the worst meal I've ever eaten in my life. 6 meals on the table 5 of them were completely ineatable. 2 steaks came out completely raw cold to touch in the centre when ordered medium rare. 2 chicken Parmi's were so dry they couldn't be swallowed, a meat lovers parmi was ordered as beef and sent out as chicken. We returned the steaks to the kitchen for them come back well done and everything else on the plate like molton lava from the microwaving it received. We I then asked for our money back for the wife and my meal I was greeted with the worst customer service on the planet and terrible attitude form the lady behind the counter and told I was entitled to a full refund they would only refund my steak. Avoid the place like the plague only eat there if you dare

Worst meal ever today at lunch time. Absolutely disgraceful. If you can't cook you probably shouldn't work in a pub kitchen and I have never complained of a meal any where before. Steak not cooked, flour flavoured surf and turf an I reckon the tomatoes in the salad went off six months ago. Never again.

Went for a meal. Fish come out half cooked. Chips were swimming in oil and salad had mould on it. 2 out of the 4 of us felt sick after. Definitely would not go there again

Came down from Queensland to race at Baskerville. Rooms were presented beautifully, the meals were great and the beers were cold. And last but not least, the service friendly and prompt! (That’s you Michael!)

Pub meal was great , motel room price ok BUT bathroom ridiculously tight, be careful sitting down on the toilet, I hit my temple on the towel rail and have a bruise and headache. Never seen a set up like this before. Crazy.

Simply supurb hotel dining. We had half serve roast pork with 5 veggies, that had been cooked to perfection & crackling too match. Immaculately clean, can't go wrong here.

Staff very helpful and accommodating. Great meals available 😋 and drinks if you want at reasonable prices 😉 Would definitely return and stay at this Hotel/ Motel. Much better than the over priced places in the city!!.

Brighton Hotel is a great place to stay for affordable, clean, comfortable accommodation. Brighton has most things you will need, however, is close to major supermarkets and Hobart. Meals are available there, but if you would like a change, The Pontville Pub and Moes also have excellent meals.

My review is on the dining, not the motel/rooms, as we did not stay here. Food was on table within minutes of ordering, clearly they were pre-plated and warmed ready to be able to have been served so soon. Despite this the roast was delicious. Kitchen staff/waitresses/waiters lacking, very understaffed. There was a Christmas function in the function room and only one poor waitress to serve the people attending this along with all of the patrons in the regular dining area. Poor girl was run off her feet trying to do the work that actually required at least 3 wait staff minimum. Bar staff standing around doing nothing where they could have been utilised in dining area. Makes sense when the bar is not busy! By the time another waitress was called in we had been waiting an hour for our dessert(which we never received)so we packed up our plates, delivered to kitchen area and simply left. Clearly the restaurant/hospitality manager is inadequate and not organising their staff properly to run the dining and function area smoothly. We felt sorry for the waitress, she was doing a wonderful job with no support and had too many tables to serve on her own.

Rooms clean and modern. Good size. Individual outdoor eating area. Nice bathroom. Lots of parking. Close to great bakery. Hotel dining good. Limited chairs in room. No wi-fi, no hairdryer, no shower gel, no microwave, no tissues. Limited reception hours but staff very nice Poor lighting. Glass front door has no blind and car park lit up like daylight at night. I taped black garbage bags to door for my stay. A little over priced.

Had dinner at restaurant with partner and family I had crumb steak it was off couldn't eat it partner had seafood basket the scallops calamari was all absolutely disgusting all got sick will never recommend or return

Ordered two mixed grills and arrived at the table with raw cold sausages sent back to kitchen and then yet again arrived as the first two. Asked for a refund as if you can't cook a sausages wouldn't try anything else. Need a new chef

Worst counter meal I have ever tried to eat. Salad leaves wilted and stuck to bowl, chips a gluggy mess and disgusting. Scallops were very average and certainly not fresh cooked

Chicken Parmi come out 5mins after ordering, Luke warm at best , plate cold ,veggies watery/mushy and gravy cold ! Definitely not worth the $32 paid , disapointing to say the least , first time there and fair to say will be giving a miss next time 1/5 👎

Very mediocre. Asked for a late checkout and they came into the room without us and changed bed linen and tool towels without telling us or consulting us. The room let's a lot of light in via the door making it hard to sleep

Lovely room, comfy bed. Water pressure in the shower could be better. Food and drinks in the pub were reasonable prices. Brighton is a neat place to visit.

Had a booking for 18 people for my son’s birthday booked 1 week in advance We showed up on time to find my name crossed off the booking list and our table had been taken by another group Although the attendant quickly made us up a table it’s not good enough Also they forgot two kids meals and they had stopped cooking by the time we realised

The food was barely warm, my sons scallops where nearly off and where mushy I tried one and spat it out, I told the waiter who took it back to the chef that only offered a free drink 🤔 $21 meal (half serve) it was my sons birthday! So he had no meal 😡 there was a group of 19 of us and all meals where hardly eaten. Went there years ago and was the same. Thought it might have got better extremely disappointing 😞

The rooms are always clean and tidy when we stay here. I only have the room 3 stars due to the front door is frosted glass and allows the room to be filled with light from outside while you're trying to sleep. The other reason is due to the bed being so hard that it made my body physically hurt.

Only stay as it close for work normally only 1 night but when you ask about a room for next night they always say they are booked out. Don't see many rooms being used. Have asked many times for a blind to be put on the entrance glass doors to block out day light & the lights that beam in. Food very average tuff steaks, mirrors are always dirty

The venue and stuff are awesome! And very friendly and it's a great family environment. But the food was extremely disappointing, Got a burnt parmi. and the chips taste like they've been marinated in sunflower oil?overpriced for what you got, definitely never going back for a meal. Although the bar is excellent for drinks.

My husband and I had the scotch for dinner. His medium and mine medium to well… both like an old boot. Highly disappointing considering the cost. Your salads are also pathetic. Please look into this as you’re robbing people. The only thing I can say is your bartender, Ben is a great guy and is very thorough. He’s the reason you get two stars.

Walked in was greeted quite quickly order our meals, mains came out before the entrees and kids meals and we had no knives or forks on the table. When we asked for cutlery, the waiter walked to another table where a man had just finished eating and took the spare cutlery and gave it to us. Meals were atrocious, dry and had no taste. Chips were as yellow as daffodils and no taste to them, even salt couldn't bring the taste back. Requested a refund which was given. Staff were lovely and friendly 😊

We booked a 'Superior Family Room for 5 People' for our family of 4. When we arrived we were given 2 seperate rooms. The rooms were outdated and didn't smell great, but it was a one night stop over on our way to launceston so we just slept really. Beds were quite comfy and clean which is the main thing. The food at the hotel was very average, but very large serves. There isn't much available as far as accommodation in the area so can't be too fussy, but I wouldn't stay again

Friendly staff, good atmosphere, reasonable prices for a full plate. Other half loves the Swiss chicken. Play area for the children.

Meals where very quick to arrive ,chips where cold and very bright yellow I order the Swiss chicken which was chicken topped with bacon pieces and a cheesy Dijon mustard sauce no dijon mustard and the chicken was swimming in the sauce

Did not stay in rooms went for dinner. Food was rubbish. A mixture of over cooked and under cooked vegetables and chicken, some of the vege was warm and others cold. The dining area smelt like an old sports change room.

Haven't been here for many years, meal was nice and filling and service was good also.
