Was pleasantly surprised with the caring attitude and atmosphere of the hotel 🏨 staff/owners ... they looked after the older people with beautiful warmth ✨️ and care ..... felt loved 😍

We had a table of 4 and we all ate something different and we all had to agree how lovely the food was ,not only did the pork melt in my mouth but it was affordable staff were very friendly We often eat around town but I must say this is now the top of our list for pub meals .

Food was on the table quickly, and the service was great. They do honor the senior's card. and ask if we were enjoying our meals, there were 8 of us. It was a birthday occasion for one of our group.

This hotel needs to close down I’ve been going there for 40 years was a good hotel & the meals we had was good , this place has gone down hill was there last night the dinning room was empty 6 people in the pokies , I don’t know how they can pay their staff to be honest sad to see such a good place go down . After reading the recent reviews my son and I decided to check it out must admit I agree with the reviews I DO NOT RECOMMEND

I stayed here for 4 weeks in Adelaide. Great value for room. Reception is very helpful. Guests have access to a shared lounge and kitchen. Unfortunately not many rooms to book and I am yet to book another room.

Rump Steak, Gravy with Veggies was great 😀👍. Ordered Medium Rare as came out Medium Rare. Delicious and very good Price for the amount of veggies and chips and gravy you get. Highly Recommended for everyone!

We’ve been here a few times for the steak night and it is one of the best steaks I’ve had in a long time! Cooked great, great chips, fresh salad.

The Challa has always been a great little local pub. Quaint but with super friendly staff .

I don't even want to put a star. I used to go here every Tuesday night for schnitzel night and steak night on Fridays also... Well I went today and wow the atmosphere there has changed that much in a week that I WILL NOT go there again...... Maybe the Mansfield Park Hotel will have to be my next hotel to get my money for dinners

Foods improved after a few off years, well snitty night is my only gauge. But nicely dressed lil pot of salad with two wedges of tomato! Nice hot bread roll (also served with a portion of butter, unlike the Halfway nearby). Right sized jug of gravey with also a side serving of potato salad. All on a bed of chips (tho a bit of the tasteless frozen type) almost would be better to leave em out completely! So for $11 bucks ya can't complain. Good service too! Friendly and down to earth.

Run down pub with pokies needs improvements car park full of potholes shocking when it rains like a minefield. Sorry to say, pokies room very nice that's it.

Only a pub , meal prices reasonable for what you recieve.

Ordered the fish trio, salt & pepper squid and some garlic bread. Jug of coke was in a plastic flimsy jugs, lack of table space and no table water was supplied. Lack of napkins on the table as well. Dinner rolls 1 each and not cooked properly, or not enough that the dough was not cooked throughout. The most tasteless oily margarine packets were provided but they are meant to be warm not watery mess. Garlic breads x3 - the bread was average, but excessively coated in same butter/margarine on large dinner plates? Tasted like jar garlic paste or spread. Fish Trio - Tarte sauce was definitely a no, the taste of oil mixed with a watery herbs in there and for me it just tasted odd. One tiny slice of lemon, salad was drenched in zest vinegar mix of some kind of dressing, in a small bowl, chips were herb and salty, but needed to be balanced right (top much spices and salt!) Fish wasn't anything spectacular, cheap bland batter. I cannot comment on salt and pepper squid, the food tastes like it's definitely all frozen. Surprisingly it took 20 minutes to get the garlic bread out. Staff appeared friendly and nice service by a very young girl, she kept coming up to our table, asking if everything was ok?? - Please train your staff - it was not busy at all, only 2 other tables so it was not busy to the point staff needed to collect plates and come to the table until we left? I think the noisy and faint smell of the gaming room (right across the way from dinning area) needs to be blocked off - customers and guests might want to enjoy their meals without coin machines etc. Car park needs TLC but apparently, I'm not the only one who's saying this but I can definitely state my experiences as a local guide. It's your typical bogan pub - cheap meals don't necessarily have to be such low quality though. Definitely popular with booners and gambling types. Atmosphere feels really odd. But if you want cheap & don't care about standards then this is the pub for you. I believe it can improve.

Gather round at the Challa. Decked out in all the AFL colours with friendly games of handball and darts made it an enjoyable weekend experience.Gret thank you to Mel and her staff for there service. Special mention to Jackson for getting everyone involved.

Small pub. Doesn't look fancy. But friendly accommodating staff. I ordered after 8pm & happy to still serve meals. Trio of seafood was delicious and cooked well. Simone & Adam were very friendly and fun.

A fun place to watch a bunch of zombies play the pokies.

Dined here twice. Both times have been good. Food is always nice, and decent amount on your plate. Salad was nice and fresh. Food came out nice and hot (we were a large group everyone was happy) Prices are affordable They also have a senior menu and have half sizes on menu for some items.

Cheap and cheerful! If you're happy to rock up for a pub meal in a basic environment, this is the place to come. Never crowded, and friendly staff.

Challa has been good to me

Visited at lunchtime, 1st Friday of December. Spacious public house, a bit outdated. Most staff friendly and helpful. Basic pub menu, including Seniors lunch menu; reasonable pricing; quality medium. Adequate parking, although needs re-asphalting; disability entrance but no specific parking. Easy to locate; easy to arrive by car, bus, taxi. Has pokies, tab outlet (including tv coverage), 8-ball table and outdoor seating.

Had liver onion and bacon and the liver was tough and dry. The gravy was like clag glue but the mashed potato was hot and creamy best part of my lunch. My husband had the roast pork.... NOT IMPRESSED with it eithrr6

2/9/22 5.45pm. Went for meals and there was a mistake when taking our order. Person taking the order blamed us, the paying customer! Disgusting sarcastic attitude and the worker was totally in the wrong. And over charged us. Will never be going back again. And will tell everyone I know to do the same. Avoid this place. The staff are incredibly rude. An unpleasant experience.
