Ordered burgers Greek salad and Caesar salad..Burger was the size of a maccas cheeseburger at $28 the Caesar salad was minimal in size and had grated boiled egg Wt? Greek salad a few cherry tomatoes and cucumber no feta and watery dressing and for $18 I could’ve bought my weeks worth of fruit n veg Absolutely appalling meals I’ve been to a lot of places during the fringe and I get that it’s a busy time but this was beyond poor. Will never eat there again. Actually insulted that for those prices you think this is acceptable

Recently moved to live just 4 doors up the street, was looking forward to perhaps making this our 'local' when in Adelaide ... we have been there about 8 times now hoping to get a steak meal ...but every single time they have NO steak! On at least 5 of these visits it's been just a few minutes past when dinner service starts.

Went to get some dinner, 9 items were out and apparently it’s the place to go for pub food. Booooo

Staff were amazing and couldn’t be more helpful. So accomodating and friendly. Food was terrible. We ordered the chicken and beef burgers. Buns were hard. Food tasted bland. Do not recommend and won’t be back to eat.

Good selection of beer, the food however was ever so slightly over cooked, both the chicken schnitzel and the chicken honey ribs were just a bit too brown and crunchy and lost some of their flavour.

Very busy inner city pub

Ordered an eggplant schnitzel to be vegan (as advertised on their menu), only to be told after that they don’t have vegan friendly gravy? Only options were sweet chilli, spicy tomato sauce or mayo?? Also the salad with the meal had no dressing.

Nice bar in a good location, with a good beer selection and lovely pub food. But what made it exceptional was the staff. The bartender -Jamie- was talking to us and as we’re traveling through. He’s told us some great beaches and areas to explore and even went out of his way to right a list of local breweries in the area. 👍🏼

Last night, 14/11, we saw your happy hour time was 4-6 pm so we ordered a pint and a larger glass of Guinness and a bowl of chips. It cost $44!! RIPPED OFF! $16 each for the drinks. When we queried, the barman said happy hour finished half an hr before. It was 5.30 at the time! We are absolutely disgusted! We're visiting for a week and several locals have told us that's a rip off and that The Stag is profiteering. How many other people did you rip off last night or was it just us? Not happy at all!!

The staff are hit and miss. Not enough of them on a Saturday night so don't expect timely service.

Steak was simple pub fare. Mushroom gravy came free. Wednesday night was trivia night. No complaints no wow factor.

Friendly, personable staff and a good solid feed. What else could you ask for. Traditional pub atmosphere and a welcoming attitude to the inclusion of children. I enjoyed the relaxed experience.

If you’re on the hunt for a good pub with tasty food then the stag is the place to be. Best parmy I’ve eatern. Restaurant quality at pub prices! Can’t complain. Not to mention the pub itself was so clean, not like one of those sticky floor pubs you walk into. 10/10 service, 10/10 food & 10/10 atmosphere!

Good spot for a casual lunch in town

Great pub and usually amazing food. Today however the steak was pretty ordinary. For $40 you would expect a nice little salad to go with it, rather than a few green lettuce leaves. The steak itself was luke warm and pretty fatty. Hubby really enjoyed his Greek Salad. We will return but might try a schnitzel next time.

Fringe time is very busy so I took this into consideration when writing my review. Came in for dinner before heading over to the garden for a show, we sat outside so we could take in the amazing atmosphere, using the QR codes we all ordered at the same time. A couple of us headed inside for some drinks and by the time we came back to the table 3 meals had just been delivered, we were very impressed as the restaurant was packed. About 30 mins later the last 3 meals still haven’t come so we asked a staff member, they apologised and went to check for us. They came back saying they are coming and asked if we wanted a drink while we wait, the staff while being busy was very helpful, thanks to the staff. Overall everyone enjoyed their meals besides the 2 who ordered Caesar salads, the salad is $26 and was lacking dressing, had a very small amount of tiny bacon crumbs, no croutons and no parmesan, we asked a waitress for dressing as it was dry and she gladly helped out, by her reaction I don’t think it’s the first time she had been asked. We really enjoyed the pub, the drinks and the atmosphere, the staff did an awesome job. My only recommendation would be for the chefs to revisit how they make the Caesar salad as it could be an excellent meal.

Very loud , staff was ok but nothing to rave about, food was cold they don't have BBQ sauce and there was only 1 gravy option which wasn't gravy just runny watery pan juice. And food was over cooked .

Hallo, einmal war ich mit Bekannten hier abends zum Essen. Ich kannte diesen Pub/Bar nicht und deshalb wurde ich dann mal eingeladen. Ein echt cooler Ort zum Essen, für ein Bier oder einen guten Wein und für einen guten Kaffee. War recht authentisch hier, das Personal war freundlich und das Haus war abends gut besucht. Mir hat es hier gut gefallen.

Very disappointed. Christmas work function and was wondering why the place was deserted. Now I know. The food was absolutely disgusting. Not much choice and was over cooked, dressing on salad was off and people were sick that night. The staff member addressing our issues was lovely and I actually felt sorry for her for having to deal with it. Will NEVER go back!
