We had dinner at 50 acres tonight and it wasn’t a success unfortunately. My 13 year old son immediately commented that the waiter who took our order, did not repeat it back to us and my son wasn’t confident that he’d got it right. We waited about a hour (insanely long wait) and then it turned out he was right because only three main meals came out to our table of four people. We’d asked for some water (40 degree day) and this didn’t arrive until our second request. Of the 3 meals that came out to start, one was not correct but we were so hungry it was eaten anyway, the parmiagana was good; but the gravy on the roast dinner was far too salty and the ham was so salty it was not edible. The missing meal finally came out once we had finished eating. The table had a sign that said “Tasty Desserts! See our display” but we hunted the restaurant and could not find a display. My son actually did find a display but it was empty. Eventually we got a dessert menu and there were desserts…just not on display.

I was really looking forward to my Wagyu burger, as I usually get the Chicken Parma. Pretty disappointing that the burger was on the small side and cold 👎

We were a party of 10 having lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Maybe due to staffing issues, the service was almost non-existent. Every time we needed to order, we waited so long so that we had to go search out a waiter. The Christmas dinner was disappointing. The meat was dry, and the vegetables consisted mainly of 6 small Brussels sprouts hidden under the meat and a couple of small roast potatoes and pumpkin at a cost of $30. The pork cutlet was dry, tough, and tasteless. Before we had even finished our dessert and coffee, around 3:30, we were asked to leave so the staff could prepare the tables for the evening meal. If we were late, it was due to the lack of serve. We were very disappointed at the dining experience.

I'm rating this store of scenery cleanness and food Scenery A good collection of WW1&2 and Viet war medals and other items not many flowers or plants but n8ce stuff donated pictures listed below Cleanness They have good cleanness but nit the best as they don't think for 3 people tables they just clean a table and ask you to sit at it sadly Food I order lamb cutlets with chips 2 of the lamb cutlets I had were good but the 3rd had blood coming out of it and hair and my chips took over 10 minutes to arive and they were on the counter for 5-4 minutes so I have no idea what insects are on it but they do offer iced water

Disappointing and Hostile Experience at Cheltenham RSL Restaurant. Myself and three of my close friends visited Cheltenham RSL restaurant on Sunday, November 17, 2024 intending to have a nice and friendly evening. As it happened we were thoroughly disappointed with the food and the attitude of a middle aged female manager who came to our table shouting abuses and finger pointing after a complaint was made about my and one of my friend’s meals. The complaint was that the flounder on menu was substituted with Sole fish. Apart from Flounder being substituted with Sole fish the veggies were undercooked and tasteless. After the initial complaint was made, a middle aged female, who identified herself as the manager approached the table. She was armed with a horrible attitude, including shouting and finger pointing, completely ignoring our complaint but was determined to defend their food and service. She was very unfriendly, inattentive, overwhelmed, uninterested, unapologetic and downright nasty. Unfortunately, our experience was a letdown on that evening. For the prices they charge, I expected the food we ordered and attentive and friendly service. My rating: - Food Quality: 0 out of 10, - Initial service: 5 out of 10, - Value: 0 out of 10 - Atmosphere: 5 out of 10 In order to improve and get me and my friends back there to that place I would suggest the following: - Train staff to provide attentiveness and friendly customer service, - Revamp menu to include fresher, tastier and as per the menu options, - Don’t substitute things on the menu with different or lower quality items. As is, in all honesty, until Cheltenham RSL restaurant improve, especially with attitude of their staff, I would advise others to avoid this restaurant at any cost, because if you complain about the food or service there, you will be abused by their staff, in particular, by a middle aged female manager.

Meals are very expensive, my Parma was dry and I've come here a couple of times. Only thing I liked was the friendly staff, but seems they are overworked and undervalued. As a patron, it appears this establishment cares more about profits than hospitality and connection with staff and community. Would recommend finding other local small businesses to enjoy a bite and pleasant atmosphere if you enjoy a good overall experience in which you feel welcomed and appreciated.

It was a great night out for the family. A great selection of meals to choose from. It is a lovely atmosphere and great service. A nice way to enjoy your night knowing that the RSL benefits each time people visit their meals or leisure.

Lovely staff, decor and food with lovely views overlooking the vast parks. A great place for a family celebration or a quiet meal for two. Reasonable prices and a seniors menu with lots of variety.

I had a Birthday Luncheon here at 50 Acres on Sunday 29th of September. As per usual the Food was Excellent. The Staff as Friendly as always. I would HIGHLY recommend 50 Acres to anyone. Thankyou to all for making my Day a happy Birthday 🎂 🎉🥂

Went as it was a half way point for a friend in Ringwood and I'd heard they had good GF options. Well not only good, fantastic, we will be back for sure !!

Hadn't been there for lunch before and was very pleased with the meal

Unfortunately, my chicken parmigiana was awful. It was dry, chewy and didn't have enough sauce. We ordered an extra sauce for the steak and we were happy to pay. However, the size of the sauce is in a small condiment tub and is simply not worth it. Service was good. I think overall it's a bit overpriced.

Not 5 star, but always great! Very accommodating and patient with elderly and disabled guests. Food is good. Meals and quick, and the staff don't seem to change, which tells me, they enjoy working there. Yep! Gets the family friendly tick!

Food was average - Kangaroo was overcooked & root vegetables were average. Excuse was they had a few big birthday tables in & we had to wait 30 mins.

Me and my boyfriend had an amazing 5 months lunch meal, we were made to feel so special by the lovely gentlemen who took care of us on the day. Not to mention that the venue looked absolutely fabulous with an amazing atmosphere!

This is a very nice suburban RSL. It has a modern decor, with beautiful grounds, and an extensive collection of memorabilia. The menu is generous, and the meals well presented. Shocking table service, 3 meals good, senior snags rubbish 2 small overcooked snags with a little bit of mashed potato not worth $20, would not serve us at the bistro bar had to go to the front main bar to buy drinks.

The venue was terrific the food was great the service was terrible had to go to the pokies to get a drink as no people to serve /order food or drinks. Overall good but please fix the non existent service
