A lovely heritage building, great meals and lovely staff

One of the friendliest and cosiest RSL in Australia

Was wondering why it was so empty, got in and spoke to a lady who said kitchen closed in 30 min which was fine we only quickly wanted to eat. Then the manager came up, extremely rude said they were actually closed and couldn't eat. Completely understand why it's so quiet now. Customer service goes a long way and rude managers can completely ruin a business.

Had chicken parma lunch special. Chicken was so tender and delicious. Great price too.

Ordered the Seniors schnitzel, was tiny, and cooked in old oil. It was dripping with oil as were the chips, brown and burnt. Would not even go back for a free meal.

very disappointed in the food service waited an hour for a barrumdi curry which had no barrumdi . I had to take it back to ask for them to add the fish.

We had our Gender reveal Party there and everything was perfect from Hospitality to food and service and staff, we loved it, highly recommended:)

This RSL has zero beer!! Go and get it.

Genuine 5 star review. Had a 60th birthday function last weekend. Staff were excellent. Room was really good too and nice to have our own bar. Ended up costing half what anywhere else in Mentone/Mordi were charging and everybody enjoyed themselves. Thanks again.

Put the most bizzare dishes as main but when you want to order a schnitzel or a bolognese you have to be a kid or a senior 🤣🤣🤣 come on make common dishes open to everyone UPDATE: The reply back we received while we were still dining we asked the staff once again can we order the same items they said no… we have a child and senior with us who ordered different meals yet we’re still not able to order them meals?? This is the third time we’ve come here same issue they did let us get a bolognaise once after going back and forth for 20 minutes. Owners not even here we left a note with his staff as those choices have never been available. THANK YOU to one of the staff members that actually said something to the kitchen!!!!

It was such a pleasure to meet this absolutely kindhearted staff. Nikki and sharon are truely beautiful. Fred is also a lovely bubble that i hope to see nexttime more as well. Besides that the building is a stunning heritage building that has been kept beautifully. People make places, and these people definitely make this place so much worth visiting for!

No food available ..Bistro closed on a Sunday? 6pm and only 7 people in the place including the 2 of us. Bit sad because the place is clearly off the pace...not even an ode.

Food is good, but have had an occasion that food was delivered cold which was disappointing.

I was sick from food poisoning about two years ago when I last had dinner there. And never got refunded or anything!! Won’t be returning there any time soon.

The building is a nice 1920 style house with a nice foyer to match, unfortunately that is where it stops as the food wasn't the best. Asked for a rare steak & got medium, my partner order the chicken Parma only to receive it not cooked all the way through then once told to receive the next one burnt. It needs wheelchair access via the front instead you have to go all the way around the back. The tables aren't big enough for 4 adults. All the staff weren't wearing a uniform and they were just standing around talking to each other. Also they lacked in drinks.

Just a great venue food is absolutely top rate, a very friendly atmosphere highly recommended this club

Great Dawn service

My first visit here for dinner (on a Wednesday night) was underwhelming. I've been to multiple RSL's with much better setups. This reminded me of trivia night at a sports club. The space was huge, but our group of 10 had to generate our own atmosphere - no other punters in attendance. There was a stage and a dance floor. Perhaps musical entertainment nights are more appealing. Food was inexpensive - it was Parma night - though was nothing special (with the exception of Mexican Parma) Staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. All in all, not quite the RSL experience I'm used to.

A great few beers and laughs enjoyed following 40 year reunion of a champion group of 1983 St Bede's students.Great way to celebrate. Great service . A great night

Pleasant club

New chef and new menu recently. Both excellent, and at pub prices. They have musical acts at various times also. You can ring ahead to reserve a table.

Comfortable light filled dining room compliment the food and friendly service here. Menu selection is classic pub food done really well and served by friendly staff in the dining room. The service at the bar is friendly and made to feel very welcoming. Classic pub raffle is on Friday evenings which is a lot of fun. Live bands are also a feature on Friday (check which days they are on before you go). Child friendly place too!

Cheap beer (and even cheaper if you are a member), fairly good food and great staff in the bar.

Average food the menu never changes,long wait time and the place badly needs renovation,in my opinion it's a dreary atmosphere.

Well priced meals and drinks, but it needs to be saidt sorry your 'Parmas of the World' concept is neither original nor correct - Italian Parmagiana (Parmigianadi Melanzane) is made with aubergine not meat, it's a shame to disrespect the cuisine and many RSL members.

Lucky to give one star! Went to the local RSL last night and I had the worst meal ever. I ordered a seniors roast of the day ( pork) and I had to send it back! Meat was as tough as leather … at first l thought it was the knife but no it was the dry overcooked meat. The veggies were dried up and the roast potatoes cold. I cld choose to have another plate of roast or a replacement meal … l decided on fried fish and chips. Well that meal was average too! The house wine was warm and awful. The other wine I bought was better. It is such a pity that this lovely old heritage building has not been looked after. We sat in the dining room … we were the only ones other than an elderly gentleman. The bench seats are tattered and need reupholstering . The walls need painting and the windows cleaned. There is no atmosphere at all. Management has really let down the community on this dingy dive of a place. I won’t be coming back!

It smelt musty and we were the only people there, sorry, to me that speaks for itself.

Good food at a decent price! Free pool table and lots of function space. Is usually quiet.

Great food at the bistro and wonderful service. Kid friendly with a play room and good value overall for families wanting a dinner out.
