Service was pitiful a girl with glass in the front bar was very rude after she poured a pint of stone & wood, from the bottom of the keg, we asked for a different beer, she was very rude in her answer & then threw the beer down the sink abruptly & said she didn’t get us say didn’t want that beer. But we said it before she changed the keg over.. she has no customer service experience & should not be around customers. Or fired for her action. Made us not want to go in front bar again..

A wonderful dinner. It's not over expensive

Since the management changed hands this hotel has gotten better and better. The staff are friendly and helpful. They make the most delicious (vegan) cappacinno. They never complain about changing over a little small change (the machines often give you small change when you cash in) which use to be my biggest beef with staff before the pub changed hands. Wonderful atmosphere. Clean amenities.

I must say im disappointed that the gaming room smoking area isn't kept free for the gaming patrons. The area is very small and it's very intimidating for a woman to go into such confined area to have a cigarette when there is 4-5 men talking and drinking. They were not using the gaming room,bso I think it isn't fair that I have to go out the front of the hotel if I want to have a cigarette. Maybe this is something management can address as honestly it really isn't fair. Thanks

The food is okay but not really worth the price especially for big families. The chips are often very blend and the other foods taste okay but often cost way to much to buy it. The only thing I think worth is going here for is the view of the beach. But other then that just eat somewhere else.

We used to frequent this hotel pre COVID because it was great. Today was the first visit in a long time and boy were we disappointed. When booking we asked for a table next to the playground, on arrival we were told the playground had been removed and they had put on a face painter and had kids activities books available to compensate. Well the kids activity books had run out when we actually tried to get them and if you didn't stand right next to the face painter and hold your spot anyone was jumping the queue and she left before everyone in our party got their faces done. Staff didn't care we had driven a substantial distance to go out somewhere with a playground to keep the 7 kids we had with us entertained. If someone has a booking that clearly states they want to take advantage of the playground the manager should have contacted us and made it clear it wasn't available. On a positive note the food was good, one person's salad had peices of hard plastic through out but apart from that the food was enjoyable. Not sure why the restaurant got another renovation I thought the previous layout worked much better. Between the poor management and organisational skills and the overall vibe of the establishment we will not be back

Long wait for meals. Quality not great, meals all ordered together 2 came out about 15mins after the first 2 and one sent back cold. Meals not worth the money they are asking for them. Meat raffle is great but skip the meals.

Good parmi and chips. Friendly staff, with cinema and kids play area. The play area and cinema keeps the kids quiet so the grown ups can enjoy.

Food was good. Went there for a work function. The service was great. Atmosphere at the front bar was a bit loud making it hard to carry a conversation.

We had a very large family group dine last night, they took our booking only a few days earlier, were excellent at catering for us, excellent communication, very good service, very satisfied re the food, and most obliging. We were very satisfied, will be going back. Had eaten there only 3 weeks ago, with friends, all very happy that time too.

Not a great experience food wise no care obviously taken in kitchen and presentation of meal. Very pub like with restaurant prices. Seafood basket $29.00 with overcooked bordering on burnt prawns, no taste with calamari, fish was ok. Wouldn't recommend a visit, I did request a free coffee which I received and manager took my complaint seriously but I wouldn't return again. Shame as the bistro is very pleasant but they certainly need to lift their game food wise.

I got the Philly cheesesteak 20 minutes ago. It was a disgrace. I can’t believe anyone. Put that out. A two dollar piece of sizzle steak drowned in mustard and sauce on a wet brioche roll. I was with my family so I couldn’t complain but that Was really disappointing. I would never eat that again. The other food looked alright. Was it a personal attack? If I wasn’t with my family? I would’ve taken it straight back and either asked for my money back and left to ask for a decent meal for being really crap ! for a family meal that I only get to do occasionally. Gross and very strange one tiny piece of sizzle steak omg unbelievable did that really just happen

Was pretty crap that pricing for hiring the function room came with hidden cost that were never mentioned during the entire process of organising the function.

Ordered our meals at 6:15, 2 of which were kids meals, after waiting in line for 10 minutes on a Tuesday night. 1 hour later, after complaining about the kids meals not having been delivered yet, the meals started arriving. To make it even worse, was that the adults got their meals before the kids. Our 4 year old was the last to get her meal,which had just been cooked and it was so hot, she couldn't eat it. All meals were only average at best. We asked to see the manager, who didn't appear until we were about to leave and would only offer a free drink, which was no use as we about to leave. Very disappointing as we have eaten there before. Won't be back for a long time.

Worst meal I've ever had. We eat out alot. Gravy was thin & tasteless. Chilly cheesesteak roll was pitiful. Tartar sauce was oily & bitter. Is such a beautiful place with a great view. Staff were really friendly. $150 on meals wasted.

Waited over 1 hour for schnitzels, when we asked we were told 10 minutes, 20 minutes later we asked again and were told 'they are starting them now' We asked for refunds as we didn't want to wait any longer and instead of refunding each separate transaction the manager handed us cash, said he couldn't put it back on our cards and tried to get us to sort it out amongst ourselves. Truly a pathetic experience, avoid.

Haven’t been here in years. New Renovation area for the beer garden/front bar is amazing. Staff were happy and helpful. They even have Hard Solo on Tap which is a win.

Great location and atmosphere, but some food issues. Christie’s Beach Hotel is a well-located venue with great facilities. The front bar is inviting, with a pool table and plenty of seating options both indoors and outdoors. However, we had to wait 40 minutes for our meals, which was disappointing. The beef schnitzel was thin and dry, but the chicken pizza was delicious and well-prepared. Staff were attentive and friendly. Overall, a solid experience with room for improvement.

Have to say was very disappointed, not only did our sons pizza come with pineapple on it when we asked for no pineapple but come out burnt, the schnitzel was so oily it had oil on the plate and my husband ordered the Philly Cheesesteak Roll and steak was fridge cold. This is such a shame as we love going here but tonight was a waste of $70

The chicken and mushroom pizza had no taste you should not make it and tonight slow cooked rolled lamb was a hunk of taste less piece of hogget

Visiting from WA, have eaten here before and was happy with both the service and food. This visit was with 11 family members, kids meals came out within 15mins which was great, remainder came in dribs and drabs after 1 hr, not ideal. I tried the philly cheese steak roll, which proved to be a complete disappointment and recommend removing from the menu as the resemblance to an authentic philly cheese steak was zero. The service however was both friendly and professional.

Had dinner here one night, was quite lovely! Sat outside, the umbrellas are cute! Inside of the hotel in the bistro area also really nice. All servers friendly! Cocktail list looked nice too, the one I really wanted is no longer available, so a tad annoying they hadn't updated their cocktail list, but had the one pictured (sour something, forgot the name) it was quite nice! Food was good, had fish and also a parmi for our table. Good spot overall!

Not happy with the service. Ordered a grilled fish for young child. Came out as a deep fried fish. Asked for grilled. It went back to the kitchen and they scraped the batter off. The point of having the grilled fish was not to give a small child deep fried food.

Family outing with small children. Loved the booths! Food was served hot and tasty. Inside and outside dining. Great grassed area with playground for children, with seating.

Had a super lovely time, recently renovated and kid friendly. The menu was super accommodating to our dietary requirements. Chloe was a superstar worker and made us feel so looked after and welcome. We will be back !!

My slow cooked lamb was pretty good, but the small amount of gravy was a disappointment. The cauliflower undercooked, beans yummy, broccoli ok. No oven roasted root veges, a few pieces of pan fried potato and a few pieces of carrot that looked steamed.

Nice location and furnishings. Bitterly disappointed with the wait time for our Christmas lunchtime meal. Our group of 18 were split over two tables. After we ordered, one table received their meals within 40min. Our table waited 1hr 15min for the meals meals, even this took an extra 20min to serve all the meals. Really deplorable and ruined the festive get together. The meals were average too.

Rang to add one more person to our table of 3 for Xmas lunch,was told told yes this shouldn't be a problem and tried to take payment but couldn't for some reason. Was told they would ring back tmro to take payment and check with the manager that all was ok.Was told no all meals had been set so couldn't add ONE more.Thanks to the manager whoever you are for spoiling xmas lunch for me.Wont be back again,better pubs around.

Meals came out in a decent time but my partner and her dad ordered the spicy pizza from the menu. It was suppose to have jalapenos to make it the spicy pizza but neither of them had any. Something was mentioned to the waitress and she came back with a small bowl of chilli flakes to sprinkle on the pizza. No real explanation or anything was given or a sorry. I've always liked the Christies but that was pretty crap. We also ordered some cocktails. I had 2 margaritas and I'm a lightweight. Didn't feel a thing. My partner also had 2 and she's more of a lightweight than me. Didn't feel a thing. Not much alcohol in them. Also bring back the salad bar.

Restaurant only half full, still took 20 minutes to line up and order meals. Main meals for 4 people served about 15 minutes apart. Nasi goreng pork not twice cooked. Took wife drink of table before she had finished it. Couldn’t get another drink at bar without lining up in the long food line again. The old dining room much better than new one.

Very poor. Had to wait way to long for food to come out, the wrong meals supplied, stake over cooked. Extremely disappointing. Won't be back again.

We were in the function room on the 23rd of November for a graduation party. A most pleasant experience and wonderful service. Our function room bar attendants Chloe and Tyson were personable and made us feel as though no request was too hard. That kind of service is few and far between these days. Shout out to Ryan whom I think is the bar manager, he was a great laugh and fantastic service too. The playground, function room and hotel rooms are close together and in a gated area. Definitely made us feel safer to have the kids play on the grass area/playground. I live interstate and will recommend this venue to all. We’ll be back when I return to visit family. Thanks again CBH staff! 😊

Had a great meal of liver and bacon and onions with mash and gravy . I rarely chose this if it's on a menu cos it's usually tough ,however this was great . Reminded me of my mums ,very yummy. Hubby however had the lamb roast cut more like a steak and with very little gravy so quite dry .

Recently stayed here for a work trip. When I booked the room online I wasn't able to see any rooms or details about what we could expect when we arrived. When your on the website the hotel looks amazing therefore we booked a room expecting it to be just as nice however it was a major let down. The room was still dirty. There were marks on all the walls, A hole in the roof, the TV remote didn't work, There was also damage to the TV, Damage to the mirror, Bathroom door was still blue straight from the shop floor. It was all mouldy down the bottom along the edge and the door also wouldn't latch shut which was a privacy concern when travelling for work with a client. The hotel it's self was amazing and the food was great. However, I wouldn't pay over $300 for two nights to stay here again when I have stayed in nicer hostels/ caravan parks.

This place is out of date and needs a lot of fixing up has broken locks andyou cant hang your towle on the rail because its hangung out of the wall very badlly maintained its not up to standad as a hotel the beach is the best part maybe sleep there if the weather is warn enough

Nice place but, omgoodness what a shocker for placing orders. Not only does the nice lady behind takes our order, she has to go make the drinks!! Was better the other way where you order food and the then go order drinks. Will not darken this doorstep again.

We had booked a table for over 10 people, there was no one to greet us at the door. So, had to queue up with everyone ordering drinks/meals, just to find out where to sit 🙄 Then we had to order food! What a mess, two queues with people ordering food & drinks and staff looking like they didn't know what they were doing. Organisation would have helped. 1 queue for drinks another for food. Then our meals came out all over the place, some people on our table finished their meal before others even received theirs. No reasoning about it either, steak came out before salads, pies came out before sausage & mash 🤷 One word - Shambles

I find the food in the bistro to always be good. It’s a great restaurant for families with kids but if your a couple it can be annoying with kids running around and being out of control. Wish they would have an adults only section haha

Stopped by tonight without a booking and staff were happy to have us and showed us to tables that we could use. The staff were all great and the food was fantastic I had the bangers and mash while my wife had the chicken parmi that she couldn't finish as it was a very decent size and staff were happy to hand us a takeaway container. Will definitely heading back again. 😊👍

Very disappointed you can only take a young well behaved dog to a small smokers area outside in near a wall with no shelter, please have an area undercover unless the dog is a hazard to other patrons

**Disappointing Experience with Poor Service** I visited Christies Beach Hotel last night with a friend who brought her dog along. We planned to sit outside, so I asked one of the staff if it was okay to have the dog with us in the outdoor decking area. The staff member said yes, so we chose a spot and I went inside to order food. I also requested a container and some water for the dog, but then I was suddenly told that dogs weren’t allowed on the decking after all, and we would have to leave. As we were getting ready to go, another staff member came out and told us we could stay in the side lawn area, which is also the smoking area, but we’d have to fetch the food ourselves because they couldn’t bring it to us. This was inconvenient but better than finding another place, so I went back inside to place our order. I was told the food would take 25-30 minutes, but when I returned to the counter after 30 minutes, they told me to wait another 15 minutes. When I asked if they could bring the food out to us to avoid multiple trips, I was initially refused, with the explanation that they had already made an exception by letting us stay with the dog. After some back-and-forth, another staff member agreed to bring the food to us. The wait times were incredibly long—50 minutes for wings and over an hour for a steak and pizza. The overall experience was frustrating, with poor communication and service throughout the evening. I wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re looking for a smooth dining experience, especially if you have a pet with you.

For the price of $161.00 per night I expected to have a clean room, carpet not vacuumed, mould in shower and toilet area, stained drawer in main room, bedhead consisted of old timber and not even cut identical, could not make a coffee as the kettle was brown on the inside. Insect screens in toilet and kitchen area not fixed in place, useless. Tables between beds had not been cleaned as there were old liquid rings on the glass, they had not been cleaned in ages. Would not recommend the place to anybody. The upgrade in the Dining area is superb, pity your motel units were not the same.

Wow! The Christie’s hotel is amazing! Since it has been refurbished it looks really nice, we’ll set out and fresh. The service is awesome, everyone is friendly and can’t do enough to please, especially Tyson! He’s one of the best managers I’ve seen in a long time! Good job, keep up the happy attitude, you make people smile 😊

Had my birthday lunch here with my family, 3 kids, 5 adults. Food was lovely, desserts delicious. Great service and kids enjoyed their facilities. One of my favourite family friendly venues. Thank you !

I live walking distance from here and have frequented the pub on many occasions over the past 6 years. It's taken me a long time to get to this point however I must say the food is a constant disappointment. Last night pork belly on the specials was so dry, and the crackling was rubbery. A table close to us had their steak refunded. The best meal I've had from here used to be the chicken burgers from 6 years ago. The chefs need to go visit another pub and see what good food tastes like, because what is been served up is not worth the 5 minute walk or the cost. Will try again in 6 months in the hope my local serves great food but not holding my breath.

Wow. Just wow! After a massive renovation reveal 8 months ago. They can’t even meet the most basic of requirements. A usable pool table.

We booked here for dinner as they have a cinema for the kids to be entertained but they didnt inform us the cinema was broken when we booked. I think they should have told us so we had the choice to go elsewhere.

Our son took us here for lunch today. Has been a while since our last visit. Most disappointing. Very average. Son had vegetables with his snitzel, a small piece of broccoli & frozen beans.
