A group of us had lunch there today some meals were good and some not so. Bolognaise was warm , not hot. We were the first table to order, yet served near last? The service could be improved

Unimpressed by the meal, pork belly was way too fatty(not cooked properly) and parts of crackle were not crackle.

Had the Calamari last night absolutely yummy as usual, so was the cheese and garlic bread, the Calamari isn't the processed circle Calamari you get from the supermarket but genuine fresh Calamari. Couldn't fault it great meal great price great service. Well done Bowling Club love having a meal there.

not great. the steak was poor quality meat ($40) and the calamari was comparable to the frozen squid sticks that are bought from the supermarket

All I wanna do is have some fun… Gutted to hear that trivia is being cancelled. I’ve driven an hour every Monday after work just to be here, and I even bought a club membership because I loved the night so much. Steven has done an incredible job creating a fun, welcoming atmosphere that can’t be replaced. It’s disappointing to see the club drop such a well-loved event, especially when it brought in a loyal crowd week after week. Feels like a real loss to the community vibe. I know I’m not the only one who will seriously miss it.

I wanted to share some feed back on the membership side off things.As I feel it could be slightly amended. My birthday is the 31st January . I Recived a lovely email wishing me a birthday wishes to to have a lovely day and that i had a $5 voucher to use. Which is awesome, as it pays for my drink. This email actually made my day as I had to work all day, so it made me smile. However I received this email at 11.10 am on 31/01 and I had the whole month of January to use it. Approximately 12 hrs. To which made me laugh. Maybe look at sending it out a week earlier, I may have organised a group of ppl to come.

We went for Steak Night dinner on Tuesday 17/12/24. The restaurant had a huge group of 33 people booked. Even with this huge group right beside us we had excellent service and the meals were great, the same as usual. No price increase, we weren’t charged extra for gravy as per some recent claims and we were very happy. However, the large group could not have made things harder for the team if they tried. Their order was made by one person but when the meals arrived they couldn’t seem to remember who ordered what meal. This led to huge confusion for the staff who were trying their very best to get these hot meals to their very long single table at a similar time. The team including the kitchen did a wonderful job under very difficult conditions.

I always have a great meal here. The staff and service are excellent from being greeted at the front door by reception to the bistro and gaming staff

I went to take my partner out for dinner tonight. Went to order dinner and were told we could not order from the main menu as there was too big of a function there. So the rest of the place stiff shit. You don't get the menu. Wasn't told on entry nothing. What a pathetic excuse for a business

I wish to down grade my rating Went for lunch today with a club (29 people) @$25 per head All the meals came they looked reasonable but the Roast beef tasted good but TWO thin slices on half a potato with 6 beans and a small slice of pumpkin what a joke I am member not for much longer Three weeks ago my wife and I came for dinner which we.did not a sort of regular basis ,to see a sign on the counter to show our Seniors card on order I did not have mine and have never had to use it (I am 73) and they would not serve me even though my wife had hers Plenty of other places to go in Sunbury Howard Bassin club member

Went for an event at this club. They were notified 6 weeks before I have special dietary requirements. The day cost me $65 I received 6 small pieces of food. They compensated my meal by giving the table a cocktail. Great but I don't drink.

Castello’s in Gisborne is a lot better. Food was bland here at Club Sunbury and one of the wait staff twice thought it was appropriate to prove she was right when she got our order wrong (we didn’t even mind but she kept yelling at us) If it’s wrong just fix it there is no need to berate us and say things like you can prove what we ordered and start saying really loud what we said when we ordered. There was no manager or supervisor anywhere to help and she just kept coming up to us and telling us that we were wrong. Tried to complain but got called a bully by the manager via email a few days later all because we told her to go away and get a different waitress. Never had this treatment even at a fast food place. Wont be going back. I’m sure they will reply to this with something that fits their narrative and makes them look like they did nothing wrong. Believe who you want people, but I wouldnt waste my time posting a google review with my name visible if I was a liar. The entire experience from the staff bully who didn’t like being told firmly to go away from us after her second attempt to berate us, to the CEOs email response were so below parr and typical of a culture where staff want to keep their jobs.

The food was delicious with generous helpings and the prices were about on par with other no-frills pubs I've been to. The atmosphere was okay. The serving staff were lovely. But the person behind the bar seemed like they either didn't want to be there or they just didn't like people. Very limited choice of beers on tap and in the fridge. The pokies are in the next room where the bar is. But I wouldn't have known if I hadn't seen them because the sound didn't bleed into the dining area at all.

We had lovely Tuesday special steak, but no option to change salad for vegetables. Best to book as very popular on pensioner’s going out night. Noticed drink prices have gone up as well. New dining room staff are friendly and helpful.

Went for steak night and we weren’t disappointed. Steaks (porterhouse) were tender and cooked as requested. Sauces were tasty and the chips were hot, crunchy and very flavoursome. Service staff were attentive. Would recommend.

We arrived on time, were told where to go sit at the booth and that menus would be bought to us shortly. They weren't.. hubby went to go and get them after about 10 minutes or so. We had queried the kids eat free night, which was advertised online as monday night. Only to be told it wasn't and they can't change it off google search. So we ordered meals. Kids food came out, nuggets tasted bizarre.. the texture was odd too. Lemonade had to be exchanged as it was plain soda water. Our meals came out over half an hour after ordering (two basic pastas) the kids had already finished eating. Table near us who ordered after us (also pasta) got theirs before we did. Hubby's meal looked senior sized, portion was lacking. The chicken and mushroom gnocchi was bland. Chicken tasted like it was tinned. Gnocchi was gritty. Very average service and food tonight unfortunately. Hubby then took our little one to the toilet, only to discover blood in the bathroom which he reported to reception. Was a very average experience to say the least and won't be returning in a hurry. *edit* Cheers for your response guys, but we did infact address our concerns on the night, and again in this review. I've read enough reviews across social media and google, as well as via my own experience, to see that the menu is is very hit and miss. We know now that kids eat free on Sundays. Unfortunately this was still found advertised online for Mondays, which we showed staff and received differing responses. We were also told we weren't the only ones who've found the same thing to be confusing. I feel this really needs to be addressed at your end. Cleanliness of the bathrooms, staff attitudes and efficiency, portions sizes, meal quality, as well as information on your sites, aren't really in my hands. Respectfully, we won't be returning, price and quality at other local venues have proven a more favourable experience. I wish you all the best in your future endeavours.

Good food and efficient. Horrible lighting though. It used to be great and well lit, now it’s too dark it’s like eating under the bridge. The lights are just too dim for it’s type of setting. Could improve a little.

Visited this place on a Friday night for dinner. The food was extremely good qith plenty of options. Staff where very friendly, had a good chat with the bloke behind the bar for a few minutes. Pace just has a good vibe. There is a kids playground but it's a bit of a walk on the other side of the oval I would suggest visiting this place for a meal if you are looking for somewhere to go. May need to book a table in advance because they do get busy.

The Bistro is well presented, the wait staff are efficient and the food is great. Would like a few more options for Seniors entree and Mains. The portion sizes for seniors meals are perfect. Will definitely visit again !

Great place great staff

So disappointed !! We have been told how good the new chef is, and we were very excited to try. There were 6 of us & we all ordered the same time but different dockets. I ordered 2 entrees, fish & chat potatoes. The fish came out, no tartare like advertised & 2 mains came out for others. 40mins later, 3 had not received their mains & I hadn't received my 2nd entree. When my potatoes finally arrived, I finished eating & asked for a doggy bag. They refused for me to take them home when I had paid good money for them. This is what I found.... Although some restaurants may be reluctant to provide take-away boxes, consumers in Australia are legally permitted to doggy-bag their own meals if they're willing to run the risk of food poisoning. Never going back !!

As regulars to the Club, this time I found the size of the meals minimalistic, the pasta carbonara was more like a entree size. How about a few veggies the the Steaks ?

Not sure what changed from last week. Meals were big and decent quality. Oreder a Parma and 2 kids meals, one was free before 6pm. Same day this week ordered 2 main meals and 3 kids meals, no free kids meal 🤔 And quality was poor.

Great Staff, went for steak night, good prices it would be nice to get Veggies instead of chips.

Big group of us today for my mums 85th birthday lunch . Staff were lovely, helpful and couldn't do enough, great service ! Lots of room for prams , wheelchair etc . Only one negative hence 4 stars and not 5 , many ordered the roast pork and there was a lot of meat but very light on with the veggies and missed the apple sauce . We all had a lovely arvo though.

We came over to Melbourne to see family and went out to dinner Saturday night and so glad we came here! Between the amazing food and the friendly staff including our waitress Natasha who was so lovely! We cannot wait to come back again when we are in Melbourne! If we lived in Sunbury it will be our local for sure!!

Food is good, I especially love the salt and pepper squid, staff are friendly the only down side is the venue itself is very outdated and run down would definitely be 5 stars if the venue had a face lift.

Came into Bistro for dinner on Thursday Night, very busy. Our meals were very nice, great price. The Staff were wonderful, helpful and lovely to have a coversation with. will be back.

We dined here last night (Wednesday 26 June). Lovely meals. High standards and very prompt. Delicious food and the staff are lovely. Regulars now!

The first couple of times we came here the food was average and the service was just OK. Well...things have changed over the last few months! Club Sunbury now has the best steak night in Sunbury, and their kids roast features normal, healthy food that I am happy for my son to eat! No more nuggets and chips! Great value, great service from all of the staff except the one older lady in the bistro who seems annoyed by most requests. We love Club Sunbury now, and would highly recommend it to anyone after great food at great prices in a less than great atmosphere. 5 out of 5!

Went to watch The Eagles Story tonight and we lived it. Place is in a great location. The staff was great. The food was nice and the band was just awesome! Great night out.

Me & My Family came into the Bistro for tea on the 10th of May as it was my Birthday and we thought that the Bistro would of been quite full due the bowls thing that was happening that Night. I think that everyone enjoyed there meal, as I have the Famous Chicken Windsor which was very yummy and very filling plus had the Bruschetta to start off. The Pumpkin soup that my mum, dad and step mum had was very yummy as well according to them. The staff are very friendly, helpful. I am coming to Club Sunbury on the 15th of June for my Marching Presentation Night which will be in the Function room.

Hot chips and gravy are perfect here. So fresh hot and crunchy and thicc.

We enjoyed a lovely night with friends at the bistro on Thursday ‘ribs and burgers night.’ I can highly recommend the various burgers that three of our party ordered - full of flavour, and accompanied by piping, hot, crispy chips! Such great value too. Our regular favourites of Chilli tiger prawns and Spicy prawn spaghetti lived up to their reputation. Overall, great service, food, value and company.

I visited the Bistro on Thursday 9/05/24. I ordered a 3 course seniors meal. The food & the drink were fine, and I enjoyed it. However, the presentation of the main pork roast was not acceptable. The vegies were layered on the plate, then the pork was put over all the vegies with the sauce. You had to lift the pork to find the vegies! Most unusual and not pleasing to the eye.

Loved the atmosphere, going back for the Eagles tribute show on 25 may. Took seniors here for lunch was delicious and fun😊

I came to the Bistro on this day to have lunch with some friends as it was my birthday. I had a great time & will most definitely come back again.

Spent a Saturday night playing barefoot bowls and the staff working the bar downstairs were excellent. Matt and Tahlia were beyond helpful, super friendly and made excellent cocktails. It was the best espresso martini I've ever had!

We are regulars here, usually visiting once a week in the bistro. I always try and order something different off the menu each time. I must say, every dish I have received has been nothing short of fresh, tasty and plentiful. So so nice. My fave is the steak sandwich yum. Staff are always so friendly and helpful.

Food was great and the staff were the best. Always a great experience at the Sunbury bowls club. Either for a bowl or a feed with family or friends, can’t go wrong.

If you love waiting 20 minutes for a drink, eating terrible food, being given attitude by 20 year old workers, then this is the place for you!!! Now we remember why we never go to this hole anymore. Carol in the front bar though, AMAZING. So lovely and service was 10 out of 10. Maybe have her train the young ones and also the manager cause his attitude was ridiculous as well. Much better places in Sunbury to go these days than here. Save your money and go somewhere else!

We attended this place last Friday barramundi was ordered but strange slabs of Calari was delivered Natasha was explained the situation, she was rude, no manners or people skills and a Bully Sebastian the Manager was very helpful

An ok place for a bidtro style meal although in recent times there seem to be issues with consistent quality of food and a lacklustre attitude of restaurant staff. Not as good as it once was.

Attended a function on the deck area, really nice area, friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere.

Pretty basic bowling club. Good indoor greens. Limited lounge area.

4 of us meet every 2 months or so and food usually good. We ordered the Spinach pie, the pie was a small triangle, we got horrible lumpy mash which was half the size of the plate, not the lemon and dill potatoes as on the menu, and the Greek salad had 2 olives and 2 pieces of feta. It was the worse meal we have had there. Still hungry.

We have been here for a meal twice before and it has been fantastic however this last time it was absolutely terrible. $115 for 4 adult meals which is fine however the quality of food has gone down hill since the new chef. The Parma was a store brought Parma, Prawns were wrapped in dry fried noodles nearly inedible, Moroccan lamb was tough and dry and our cheese burger was raw. Really disappointing considering we liked this place. We won't be back.
