I was incredibly disappointed with my experience when I visited this place. From the moment I arrived, I encountered multiple issues that made the entire trip frustrating and completely unworthy of my time. First and foremost, they refused to accept my digital Melbourne ID, even though they were willing to accept digital IDs from New South Wales. This policy seemed completely inconsistent and unfair, as both IDs serve the same purpose. If they allow digital verification for one state, why not for others? The second issue was even more frustrating. I was informed that I could not play unless I became a member. While membership requirements are understandable in some cases, what really baffled me was that they only accepted physical IDs for registration. This was completely inconvenient for travelers like myself, as it is unreasonable to expect people to carry all their physical identification cards with them at all times. Digital IDs are widely accepted elsewhere, so this outdated policy felt unnecessarily restrictive. In the end, I wasted my time traveling there, only to be turned away and unable to play. The entire experience was disappointing and not even remotely comparable to Crown Casino in Melbourne, where the process is far more seamless and customer-friendly. I will never return to this place and certainly wouldn’t recommend it to others.

The worst of all stars in Australia! I was expecting that Sydney one would be better but it's not the case...the worst part of it is that there s no complementary soft drinks so you can be there for hours and if you are thirsty you need to walk faar away and pay for your soft drinks...when you ask staff they say there s a chart with coffee and tea but we never saw it during our 3 days stay nor morning not evening ...so instead of enjoying playing you need to be walking around to find the person providing soft drinks that was never found...and staff don t know nothing about it...we will never go back there ! The casino daes not value it's own customers

Great selection of food, something for everyone. Some staff not so friendly while others were very obliging.

Would have given five stars if it wasn't for this one security guard who was asking me too many questions and needed more identification. Most visits have been great. Update: Came back here after 4 years as a tourist only to learn that there is a sign-up process and they won't accept my international driver's license, even though you can rent a vehicle in NSW with the same document. The security accepted my ID but the sign-up staff did not. What a waste of time.

Not worth the money, pay $200 or $300 at a different hotel and you’ll get a cleaner room. The shower is full of mould, the cleaners came yet the mould was still there when they left. Went back down to show the manager and they said it is not mould but the silicone and they can’t re-silicone it… got offered a new room for the next day yet as I’m only staying 2 nights it’s not worth moving. Also did I mention I had to make the bed myself because it was barely made correctly and the sheet has holes in it… to make up for the inconvenience I got given a box of chocolates.

Big thumbs up to the star security and medic, especially Jen from security who went above and beyond today when our baby had a medical emergency. She was beyond helpful and comforting in such a stressful time and even went out of her way to offer more help and support hours after the situation was resolved. Also big thanks to the amazing medic harry, he did amazing and once again beyond helpful and comforting in such a stressful time. we couldn’t be more happy with the support we got.

Deserted ....felt like a ghost town

There’s no wonder they’re going broke. The rules that have been imposed on them by the govt are ridiculous. Gambling has been a problem for certain people for years, but at the end of the day it’s your money to do what ever you please with and they have taken that right away from you. Every step you take on there property your scrutinized by every Star employee waiting for there moment to chastise you for enjoying yourself. I hope they go broke soon and take the govt with them. Long may common sense prevail.

Stay away from the casino. Ever since they revealed they were having cash flow issues, the pokies have been awful.

One night in a suite was the perfect wrap-up to a full-on week in Sydney and for the Valentines Day weekend. The room service wine selection isn't that great but we found something we liked, besides there is an iconic harbour with everything you need just outside.

The Star was very good to stay for us. Everything around was so accessible to walk. It was pretty good to just park and leave car there and walk to places around. Managers were very good, due to construction in front of our view, they gave us room on few floors above. Quick access to Casino is also great. Breakfast in the morning was yum and very well presented. They even arranged a Panadol for us from pharmacy when wifey was having pains.

I love the harvest buffet for their fresh seafood and dessert 🍨

my previous few trips here haven’t been pleasant HOWEVER.. a stunning girl at security by the name of Tina could not have been nicer. She was charming, professional and deserves recognition. She should be receiving 15% of pokies profits

Terrible services, never seen an unwelcoming casino like this one. From the pain in the ass process of verification to the hell slots machine and disrespectful services of some dealers and securities.

Pure arrogance and terrible judgment by security.

A brilliant venue. Sydney does not have many venues that allow for the safe mix of young and old people having a good night out. Plenty of bars and live music. Definitely spent hours at the casino and had fun. Had dinner at black and the meal was delicious. Had lunch at harvest and the spread was filled with lots of wonder foods including a great dessert bar. Enjoyed both a late night and early morning having fun! The hotel room was clean and very quiet. The pool was brilliant with clean spa. The government has made it difficult to have a flutter and imposed far too many rules on the star in regards to policing time and money. Yet you can walk a few meters up the road and easily get drunk and gamble for hours without any rules. This needs to change. Being told to stop gambling and wait 15 mins is a complete joke when you obviously go to the casino to gamble. Other venues don’t impose such idiotic rules. Also how do a group of people be able to gamble when it is made clear on machines and entry that any jackpot won can be void if the membership card is not the same as the person playing the machine. So odd

The Star is a pathetic excuse for a casino. The casino in the biggest city in Australia with only one small bar open in the early hours where ignorant staff monitor how much you drink,You're unable to get a cocktail or anything but a small selection of house drinks & a Gestapo attitude of money spent gambling,The place is a joke & no surprise they're going to fold.

Went to the Star today. Filmed the year of the snake lunar new year at the entrance perfect compared to the Dragon of last year. We played the pokies did not win this time. Had beautiful lunch at Fat Noodle. The only negative is the Parking fee $30-30 and faulty sweepstakes machine to win a car.

The Star Sydney Casino is a great place to holiday in Sydney. The restaurants are very good. The location is walking distance to the shops with the most amazing view of the beautiful Sydney Harbour.

刚登记进去赌场不到一分钟就有一个赌场内安检人员要检查Driver licence 才进来不到一分钟你就来检查那门口登记是有什么意义？这样都算了更离谱的是安检人员还要查看银行账号里的名字和driver licence 名字是否一致所以你就是怀疑刚进赌场的客人是盗用别人的信息而进来，还有你们那么大的赌场里面的厕所满地都是尿你们都不请人打扫一下吗？半夜外面好凉快可是你们赌场里面又闷又热。体验非常失望

Cannot sign up with a UK driving licence. Only passports accepted.

The staff were incredibly rude. Was asked to empty out my wallet for every piece of ID I possessed and still made to wait to get in as well as treat our non-english speaking guests poorly. Once in, witnessed several staff arguing amongst themselves.

Never made a review before so this is a first. Paid a $40 uber to get there after me and my friends all had two drink. When I go in they ask if I had an anything to drink and at this point it had been over 1.5 hours since the last of my two! The guy told me I was showing “severe signs of impairment” after we were here earlier and they were filling us with drinks. Place is a back and forth on the rules of what you need in terms of documents to enter as-well. Not a place worth visiting as they are totally not all on the same page at all. Totally random on how this place is ran. I will give them that the casino is beautiful but that’s no good when the staff if clueless.

Star grand hotel run down, dirty, switches have faded writing, no water, no mini bar! Sovereign room hosts rude & will favor Chinese patrons. Brendan Lee, Jonis & Amber terrible customer service in the Sovereign room. Sovereign room bar staff terrible & have no idea. Waste of time & money!

Atmosphere 5 stars, it’s buzzing in here

Star casino has gone to the dogs, there is nothing classy about this joint other than the price of drinks. Went there on Saturday night. I had to sign up to play anything and on cashing in my chips, i told the cashier keep the card i wont be back. And i wont.

Особое неудобство вызвало то, что для входа требуется именно заграничный паспорт, а водительские права, удостоверение личности или мед карта не принимаются. Это создает сложности как для туристов, так и для местных жителей. Несмотря на масштаб и атмосферу заведения, после такого опыта желание вернуться в ближайшее время отсутствует. Улучшение организации могло бы сделать посещение более комфортным и привлекательным.

The food was absolutely overpriced and disgusting I was very diss pointed on the bright side the room the pools the spa is beautiful clean and the room strives is pretty good so I do recommend booking but I don’t recommend getting the food BYEE

The Star security needs early retirement! Their egos get in the way of actually managing & securing the venue completely!! I've never witnessed such male driven incompetent egos, fuelled full of cocaine!!! Explains the situation the Star is currently facing rn!!!!

There is no service to poker machines anymore l dont like it l won't go there again

Very bad experience, after smoking back to continue, the manager suspected that the chip is wrong, need to prove my identity. I think this is the worst experience for a tourist and highly recommended. In contrast, the star in Brisbane is a great experience.

Have been to the Star a couple of times however I don’t think I would go back due to the fact I was there 4 weeks ago and was charged 36 dollars for two drinks however when I visited there last Saturday I was charged 26 dollars for the same drink so clearly they were ripping me off Quite Disappointed to be honest
