Lance at CombatXComputers, has just breathed new life into my 2014 model iMac. It now has 32GB of RAM and a 4TB SSD. For me, it has turned out to be so much better value than buying new. I hate the idea of trashing my otherwise still very nice tech, just because it is running a bit slow. This option was brilliant “bang for buck”. Thanks again Lance.

I collected my computer from Lance today and I am very pleased with it. He spent around 45 minutes showing me around the build. I recommend him highly. Adding to my comments above, I had an 'episode' whereby I messed up the firmware settings on my machine. Lance was VERY helpful in getting that sorted, educating me in the process. Lance and his team at Combat X Computers recently completed a build running the latest macOS. I paid roughly a quarter of a similarly spec’d Mac. Nothing was too much trouble, there were a couple of minor hiccups in the first week mainly due to the compact casing I’d requested and the brand new macOS version but the after sales support was exceptional. I highly recommend their services.

So, I made the mistake of ordering a custom computer during the covid shutdown 😅 I’ve built computers before but I don’t have the time or patience to research what the current market is doing and where the value sweet spot lies. I reached out to Lance to see what he could do for me and his quote and knowledge blew me away. He built me a machine that would have easily retailed at over 5 figures for less than 1/4th the price. Throughout the process Lance updated me on everything that was happening and what parts he was waiting for during delays from the ‘rona. It’s been around 6 months since I had the computer built and it’s been 100% faultless the entire time. Lance at Combat Computers went that “extra mile” to create our small form factor snappy Hackintosh audio editing computer. His TB3 Mac OS Mac Mini Destroyer. We wanted a few extras to his advertised machine. Like running Mac OS and Windows 10, have extra ram , plus we wanted to use a 1tb NVMe SSD that we already had for the Mac OS. He pulled all this together for us, plus added a Noctua silent fan to the power supply to ensure a quieter studio environment. He was awesome with it all. We are now running Waves plug-ins easily, and are enjoying the performance and reliability of our new machine.
