The t bone steak is the best that was a couple of years ago. know the t bone was so hard to chew and for two small t bones very thin and not much meat. The servings are getting smaller every time i go there. I will not be going there again

I got the scotch fillet here, the steak was VERY VERY tender, with a very nice and creamy mushroom sauce, the salad was really nice too with a sweet dressing. Overall, the only thing I can complain on is the chips, as they put it under the steak and if it is smothered in sauce it can get soggy, I would recommend getting the sauce on the side (also highly recommend getting mushroom sauce). Service was fast, very efficient and their new renovation makes the place look a LOT more professional and modern. I would highly recommend eating here.

steak is a classic pub steak! I tried the chicken schnitzel and found it to be super thin and not crispy and I wouldn’t recommend as much. Mushroom sauce is good too!!!

I love coming here. The food is great, and the service is fast and good but it's a bit hard to find a table at times because of how busy it is which means the food is very good so waiting is worth it. Update... 10/11/2024 I am very disappointed, the salad was good, chips were great but the steak was very chewy and very bloody then usual. My family couldn't finish the steak because of how chewy it was ☹️😠 Oh and they need to replace their knives it's so blunt.

This was NOT a good experience, i wnet here to eat wit hmy family and found TWO HAIRS in my food. This made me loose my appitite as they didnt even bother to replace my food, they just took the hair out and gave it back to me. PLEASE start wearing hairnets. THANK YOU

Carpark is always packed, parking is hard to find Park on the side street and walk Apparently people go there for the steak! For the price of the steak, it's very good!

Place is great always go there when I’m feeling hungry prices are amazing food is always amazing only problem I see is when the place is very busy food quality goes down and feels rushed and it’s almost always packed and there’s a pretty long line outside but when it’s not that busy food is literally perfect their rump steak is $21 and honestly I’ve had worse steak for $50-$100 menu is pretty small but almost every dish on there is top quality having 10 things perfect is better than having 100 dishes and you don’t know how to make them good honestly I come here at least twice a week it’s just the best bang for your buck I recommend the rump steak, surf and turf and the chicken parmigiana 🔥

Hello. I'm the guy who goes there very often and buys a classic steak with mushrooms for take away... I'm not a person who complains and I'm usually always satisfied with the service I received as you see everytime i go i am really easygoing. Besides, it's a very good place with excellent workers. But I would like to leave one thing as a recommendation. The last time I went (and it's already happened to me on a couple of occasions), the portion of meat you gave me was tiny and I feel like I've wasted my money. On this occasion I decided to leave this review because I feel that it was already exaggerated. I received a portion of meat less than 6cm by 6cm with a huge bone that took up half of that portion (in the photo I put the fork next to it so you can see that it's true). Literally and without exaggeration, after two bites I no longer had any meat. I received a meat 6 times smaller than the normal. As a recommendation and so that you do not lose customers, I would like to request you to standardize the size of your products so that your customers are not left dissatisfied and wondering whether they will receive too much or too little, like in a lottery. thanks n i hope you can get into consideration my recomendation.

definitely NOT the best $18 steaks. Honestly the worst steak I have had in a good few years. The steak was very chewy, very bloody, fatty and to be honest - quite inedible. 90% fat and bone. I reckon my jawline has improved with the ratio of chewing vs swallowing. Everyone ordered the steak and we each had the same poor level of satisfaction. We left feeling quite unhappy and not too full. Chicken wings were quite wonderful. So, I guess I could say come here for a cheap bite, but perhaps the steak is cheap for a reason, fellas.

I am here to talk about the bistro itself and not the hotel rooms. This one of the best value food and tastiest food I’ve had from a bistro!! I got the creamy prawn, with medium rare steak + mushroom sauce and salad. Nothing in this plate disappointed me. Everything on it taste so good and if you’re looking for a good pub feed - this is the place! Not much parking though so you will need to find street parking and is like 2-3 minute walk to the place. Customer service was good, the ladies at the bar are nice and also at the bistro. I wish they allowed you to get extra creamy sauce that comes with the prawns on the side! I was there because of work but definitely will go back if I’m in the area!!!

I’m a local and regular at Cooks Hill and they’re usually good! However, yesterday I ordered the steak and it came out fully cooked, when I had asked for medium rare. I sent it back politely and the 2nd plate came back fully cooked again. I took it back and was met with such unprofessionalism from the older lady (cashier) in the kitchen. She said that since they had made me a “brand new” one, they wouldn’t remake anymore. Fair enough, but as I had not touch any of the plates besides for cutting into it - I asked for a refund. The lady immediately shouts at me that I would not be allowed a refund. I speak to the manager and explain that I didn’t want any trouble and just wanted a refund to be on my way. He sorts it out with the lady and tells me I can collect my refund. As I walk back to the kitchen area, the older lady shouts at me that I “should never order steak again” and to “never come back here”, and “I’ll remember your face”. Who says that?? Unnecessary and unprofessional comments and service. Left in tears in shock of how rude and aggressive she was.

Reasonable price for Pork Ribs, Rump steak and others, grilled barramundi fillet was not fresh and small peace only, not enough spaces and tables when it is crowned.... Very fast cooking service.🙂

Ordered via Uber Eats; Chicken Schnitzel, Salad & Chips for dinner. Arrived in 2 containers. Salad separated in one & chicken & chips in other with Mushroom Sauce. Enjoyed the meal, budget friendly.

Came after the renovation, beautiful fit out but the food disappointed me extremely. I ordered a steak, half of it was bone, the gravy on top saturated the steak so I couldn’t even see what I was eating. The salad was also saturated in sauce you couldn’t eat the salad! I cut the steak and nearly bit my tooth off because I couldn’t see that there was bone in the gravy part. Not to mention that it’s very chewy as well. Very very disappointed. The kitchen before the renovation was way better and the steaks were cheaper but much better quality. Something needs to change.

This is very disappointing I went to cooks hill after 5 years because the first time I went I was disgusted by the way they made their salads, just chucked it in the sink and was serving it to people. So today I went back as I heard they made renovations, we ordered chicken schnitzels as I was about to take a second bite I seen a live moth flying inside my food, I WAS VERY DISGUSTED 🤮, we told them and they replaced our meals with new ones but I don’t think I could trust this place again.

What kind of rule to get staff to open a can of coke while serving.We can open our own can...it can spill out while carry food! Stupid rule! Not only your bar increase lemon lime bitter drinks a few months. Increasing price up for lemon bitters for $5 now.What a ripped off to people...your can of coke is $4.50.Crazy price! Better buy the drink next shop down the corner! You guys make your rules all time! Very disappointed! Smoking so bad while you are eating! They should not be in the area.Bad design. You guys dont care if we are coming anyway.
