I was thrilled with our experience for dinner. I was expecting just a regular no frills atmosphere and menu. Instead we found a modern and stylish decor, an excellent menu with plenty of choices that were generous and well presented. The staff were so friendly and made me feel so comfortable straight away. The kitchen doesn’t close till 8:30 which is such a treat that you don’t have to rush. Finally don’t get put off by the pokies, the design of the rooms means you hear nothing or see anything when you in the bistro. Well done Cown,! I loved it!

Visited the crown after many years friday night with a group of friends. The staff were so welcoming and friendly. The meals were a great Size, including the seniors meals very reasonably prized and were all lovely. Salt and pepper calamari , . Seafood plate, steak, snitzel, chicken kievs were all beautiful. Would recommend a visit and next time we are in lilydale would return. Thank you

Ordered the satay chicken with rice and chicken salad. So so so good and the service was prompt and very friendly. Atmosphere was clean and tidy. Nice place, highly recommend.

Pleasant surprise to see that the kitchen was still open when we arrived at 8pm. I had a Chicken Caesar salad which was yummy. The service was great as well. We attended a wake there the next day and the staff couldn't have been more attentive. Well done guys.

We went for dinner on a cold winter evening and the Crown hotel was very pleasant, the service was excellent, food great quality and value. It was a warm inviting atmosphere.

Friday night .. waitress Brought our main meal out whilst we were still eating entree and proceeded to leave on table. When finished entree we had to put our plates on another table to manoeuvre our main dish plates. Food by then just warm and dry. Kitchen closed down so no point in sending back. Not our night .. others times service good and food ok. Disappointing.

Went for lunch today. Had the Parma with avocado and hollandaise sauce. Sharron was our hostess for lunch and I am so impressed, an elderly gentleman came in an Sharron bought over a more comfortable chair for him. (What excellent service & care) Well done the whole team at the Crown

We haven’t been here for over a year since a family member was diagnosed with coeliac disease and knowing that Coeliac’s are tricky to cater for when eating out. We haven’t really been out to eat due to this but a birthday dinner was the reason. But……the supervisor in the bistro was amazing and went beyond for us with the chef to cater for the coeliac family member. She feasted on a delicious plate of garlic prawns, confidently knowing the chef and the supervisor were all over it and were cautious. Even letting the girl know, who took our order to put coeliac next to the coeliac order and then double confirming with the chef that it was all good. The rest of us enjoyed Parma and Thai beef salad. I feel so confident in returning to the bistro with my coeliac family member and being able to enjoy a meal without fear. Thank you. We had delicious meals and a beautiful night. Kudos to the chef and the supervisor.

Lunch on the 8th of Feb we had the potato and leek soup. Tasted nothing like potato and leek. Very bland. Carbonara was so much liquid and tasted terrible. Staff were friendly.

Our family have been going to The Crown for years we even had my dad's 80th there. Always enjoyed the meals and atmosphere, until now. The last 2 times I've been for lunch the meals were terrible. I had the potato salad which was acceptable and last week the mango salad. So disappointed as I chose this because I thought the mango would be refreshing. Unfortunately, there was no mango! The salad consisted of half a dozen small prawns a few cherry tomatoes and a bag of spinach for $30!!

Beautiful venue. Sweeping staircase down to gaming room, outdoor area has screens with live sport.

We had a booking for a meeting this week to be followed by lunch. The hotel chose to double up on the bookings and left our elderly group who were on walkers, wheelchairs and using walking sticks standing in a corridor with no seats for 3/4 hour absolutely disgusting behaviour on the part of Crown. We were unable to hold our meeting for which some of us travelled over 1/2 hour to attend. No apology or anything, they even locked the door so we could not enter. We were treated terribly.

Awesome place to eat and see live music on Sundays. New chef is amazing and food has returned to the 5 star standard it used to be.

Disappointed we couldn’t have roast, at the beginning of service. Chefs should’ve have been better prepared for busy night. Frantic and unprofessional bistro supervisor, raising her voice to younger staff, in front of customers.

Ordered the Crown burger that was meant to have lettuce, tomato and pickles with an Angus pattie with a burger sauce and chips. Didn't get the lettuce tomato and pickles and the sauce was just ordinary tomato sauce. 26 dollars for a burger with a pattie bacon and egg sucks. Also couldn't believe they had painters working in the Bistro during service. Doubtful if I will go back.

Food and service were fantastic. Highly recommend and will be back.

Good Seniors menu. Service very good. Staff very pleasant. Just a little noisy on the night we were there, but still a good place for a meal and drinks.

Came for dinner on Sunday and the meals were great and came out quickly. The garlic bread was nice and schnitzel was huge. Spoke to a waitress and told me there was a new head chef. The place seems to have improved quite a bit since I last visited.
