Wanting to charge $70 for parking! Absolutely ridiculous!

Terrible customer service, Poor management that lie. Rooms are dusty & dirty Do not recommend Plenty of more affordable and better quality accommodation.

After staying 2 nights. My mums eyes blow up. She rang to let them know and they were rude to her and made excuses. She is not well as she has cancer so didn’t argue. I sent an email to just get more excuses and said bad luck the pillows are feather and we should have let them know she has allergies. We were not aware of the pillows being feather. Poor customer service. We paid over $500 a night. Would not recommend Please stay somewhere else. A lot better hotels cleaner and better value Nice reply & you now lie as you were contacted by my mum straight after her stay. Then I contacted after on her behalf as she is old and not well and was show lack of care around the matter

Fantastic quick get away to Melbourne. Exceptionally easy to get to all destinations from this lovely hotel. The staff at the Concierge desk were brilliant, nothing was too much to ask. We will definitely be returning.

All staff are great especially Saho at Ottie’s restaurant at Crown Plaza. She greets us with a million dollar smile and very considerate with our requirements and provides personalised experience. So nice to meet her.

I payed the room at checkin and was charged a second time. After 1 week and 4 phone call I haven't been fully refunded and the staffs I talked to do not seem to care. Very disappointing!

Pretty positive experience at this hotel! Easy to get in and out of, friendly customer service at the front desk and the breakfast buffet is pretty good. Maybe not the best breakfast buffet I've had internationally, but solid. The location is fantastic, right next to the river and easy walking distance to a lot of things downtown. Definitely have no issues staying here again. The carpet throughout the hotel either needs to be thoroughly cleaned or replaced, otherwise just fine.

I really enjoy my stay at Crowne Plaza, the rooms are always clean, staff are always professional, friendly and very welcoming. I will highly recommend family and friends to stay at Crowne Plaza if ever travelling to Melbourne. Thank you for an excellent experience, and I look forward staying here again during my next stay.

This hotel is in a relatively poor location in Melbourne, far removed from most of the sights and activities that you would generally want access to. The hotel is surrounded by construction and generally lacks any atmosphere. Dining facilities are underwhelming, when I went to the cafe, the counter was unattended and I had to wait several minutes for service. Front desk assured me that my account would be sent via email, however it was not. It took me multiple emails and several hand-offs to try and get a copy - I have still not received a copy at this time, which is extraordinarily poor. A poor experience all around.

Perfect place to stay! Views are magnificent. Only the variety of breakfast is not that impressive. Repetitive menu every day.

We arrived at 330 and had to wait 45 minutes for room to be ready when we pulled beds back we found 5 or more toe or fingernails in the sheets so slept on top of beds

Excellent hotel right on the Yarra river. Though there is some construction going on outside the hotel, once you enter the hotel, the inside looks fantastic. The rooms start on level 3 and our room had a river view. It was a nice view till we noticed the fire show on the bank of the river and at that time we realized that the view was fantastic. Our king bed room was a little smaller than what I was expecting but it turned out to be adequate for our needs. The bed was very comfortable and we didn't hear any noise from the neighbors. Some rooms include a free breakfast that is served in Ottie's and also includes made to order omelettes. Ottie's is also open for lunch and dinner.

Bring your own water to drink if you want bottled water as none in the fridge. Cocktails at the bar were yucky, wasted our money 😞

The Crown Plaza has a great location, just by the south bank. We’ve got room upgraded with a view, that’s really nice. We are a family of cardio fans, it’s about 20mins walk to all the popular sceneries around Melbourne. Plus there are tons of cafes, restaurants and bars. The most of all, the Crown Casino is just right across the river. Definitely a great choice of stay!

Arrived at Melbourne around 10pm, hotel check in was quick, staff were friendly. However, room was a little untidy with a random hand towel lying near the wine glasses. We went out for dinner, upon returning we realised the room did not have complimentary slippers. This was made worse because the carpet in the room looks worn and dirty. We called the reception requesting for 2 pairs of slippers. Waited for 30 minutes without any updates or slippers, i called the concierge once more, they said they were quite busy but should have the slippers delievered in 10 minutes. Waited for another hour (2am), gave up on waiting and went to sleep. Slippers never arrived, had to call again the next morning. Utterly disappointed with the lack of amenities especially for the price. You would expect this from a budget hotel or hostel but not an established brand 4 stars hotel especially with the price charged per night. Marriott at dockland had a lower price and much better service last time we were there. Would rather stay there again than at this hotel in the future. Only booked on IHG because we had a great experience at Intercontinental in Taiwan which incidentally was similarly priced to Crowne Plaza Melbourne...

Hotel staff were nice, front desk, valet and so on. But the restaurant really needs to be corrected. It has been changed but there was no F&B manger on-site Al during breakfast and the staff do not care. I had cold coffee and eventually had to resort to speaking to the hotel manager. Breakfast assortment was average. My second gripe, is that water for the room was not complimentary. Nothing but a money grab.

They then told me front desk can sort it later if I charged it to my room. I stop by front desk later, and they told me that breakfast was not included if I booked with points. Even though it was not written anywhere on this policy. The breakfast buffet was not worth the money they charged. When I complained to the hotel management about this issue, and showed them the free breakfast card the front desk gave me. The manager took the card back, and claimed that they no longer give out cards. The attitude towards the guest is very poor. The hotel is also very old and run down. There is loud construction going on around it, and entrance is very difficult to find. Plus rooms are poorly insulated, and I could hear others talking in the hallway. I would not recommend this location at all. There are much better options in the area.

I arrived at the hotel with high expectations for a luxurious stay, but the service I received was disappointing. I had booked a standard room with two single beds, but upon arrival, I was told that the room I had reserved was not available, and there was only a room with one bed. I was also informed that if I wanted a room with two single beds, I would need to pay an additional upgrade fee of over $100. I don’t understand why I should pay extra when the reservation was correct from my side. It felt like just a way to make more money. Additionally, the offer to provide an extra bed for an additional fee seemed unreasonable. This experience has made me not want to return.

Had a lovely stay. Short walk to Flinders Street to catch tram to tennis. Was able to get seat. Further along at Elizabeth Street the queues were very long to get on a tram. Lovely big window overlooking river west. Room was clean and bathroom looked quite new. Breakfast was plentiful and coffee machine a big hit. I had room service 2 nights as too tired to go anywhere. Strategic location very accessible by Tram Shopping Centre and Food are easily access by foot

We recently stayed at the Crowne Plaza for a girls' weekend to celebrate a birthday. We shared a room, and its size was perfect, with a separate dressing/getting-ready area and a lounge, giving us plenty of space. The bottle of champagne on arrival for the birthday girl was a thoughtful touch, and the staff remained friendly and helpful, even though it was a busy weekend. The hotel’s location was fantastic—a short walk to DFO for shopping and with a free tram stop right out front, we could easily explore the city. The pool was amazing for a morning recovery swim, offering the perfect start to our day. We would definitely recommend this hotel for a girls’ weekend away!

Started with check in, ( booked for 11 nights over NY) which no one acknowledged my status and even offered an upgrade as usually done. Then get in room coffee machine was broken asked for a new one, day 3 asked for the coffee machine to be replaced again ( nothing was done again), day 5 same thing day 6 Yey it was replaced. Then body wash, shampoo , conditioner, we asked 3 times for it to be refilled). To top it all, as I payed my invoice in 2025, my status was not upgraded ( I only needed 3 night) and I did not get my free stay. And apparently no one can do anything about it. I’ve always been IHG customer, but this time I was extremely unhappy with the service. The only positive thing I can say the concierge team were the friendliest of them all.

When we checked in 29/12/24 at around 14.00 hrs. with 3 plus bags, the concierge nor Bell Boy did not bother to Welcome us or offer to take our bags to the room after our check in. Everyone looked very busy, no smile at all. They were not that busy as well at the time. Very poor service. When any customer checks out the concierge or the Front desk should call the customer to check if they need assistance with the luggage to get it down, that did not happen as well. Again, very poor service. It was on 2nd Jan 2025 around 12.00 pm

Love staying here. Bed was comfortable. Rooms were dark, clean and tidy close to everything and great value for money

Very disappointing. Messages ignored despite repeated attempts to request for replies, fridge not cold, not one bottle of water in fridge, requested non alcoholic beer, got 2 small cans of warm, cheap beer, requested wine, got 4 bottles of warm water delivered by some guy in casual clothes, requested some desert, got 4 morsels of chocolate and half a strawberry. Window dirty. Not good value for cost of room. Shower was good though.

There are not enough words to say what I want to say about this hotel. I don't usually write reviews, but I wish I had the time to write a detailed review about The Crown Plaza Melbourne. All I can say to you who at this time is reading reviews, please don't hesitate. Make your reservation. You will not be disappointed with anything related to this hotel. Don't mind the construction taking place to your right on entrance I guess it's for even better things to come. Enjoy your stay. Staff is very professional.

Walking distance to Casino and riverfront. |Although getting to hotel very early due to flight time, our room was ready which was amazing surprise. Breakfast is great but can get very crowded at certain times, get there early or a bit late. |Room was a great size and the beds very comfy. Loved the view from our window and looking at the lights in evening. |Staff were great and very propfessional |Will stay there next time in Melbourne for sure.

Thank you to Simon the concierge. He was incredibly helpful when a family member had left a bag at reception for pick up. I thought it was going to be a hassle, but he remembered the family member and the situation, then very promptly helped me out. Fantastic service.

Stayed here for 3 days. Lovely hotel with great river views. Lots to choose from the restaurant. Make sure to book a reservation as the restaurant gets busy. Nice bar next to the restaurant with free pool table. Happy hour 4-6pm daily. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Hotel is in a great location for visiting the city. Beds were comfortable. Coffee/tea facilities in the room. Would highly recommend.

They charge you $180 a night but can’t even provide complimentary water. They charge $2.5 for a 300 ML bottle of water. The water you can drink for free comes from your bathroom taps and you can see small particles floating in it! Do not come here, expensive but no water? That is ridiculous!

Conveniently located across the river from the Melbourne Convention Center and the Crown Casino. Easy transportation access within the Melbourne free tram zone. The Southern Cross Station is a short 10 - 15 minute walk. We had a room that overlooked Yarra River. Our room was clean and the bedding and linens very comfortable. There was a mini fridge, espresso machine, and hot water pot in the room. Filtered water dispensers are available in the gym and lobby. It’s very family friendly with play rooms for the kids. The staff were friendly and efficient

The sleeping area and bath room is completely separated. I really like this room’s structure. The room condition was good and the hotel has many dining options. However, several minutes are required to get parking area and this is why it takes more than 20 minutes to get a car by valet parking. This hotel is in the free tram zone and located next to tram station, so I recommend to visit here without car.

Absolutely fantastic Great location Great staff Fantastic selection for breakfast. Great rooms. This is my go to hotel for our stays in Melbourne. We have stayed at hotels in Crown but this beats all of them in every way

We chose this venue due to location. Did not disappoint. Excellent value for money. Swimming pool looked amazing unfortunately didn't have time to indulge. Car parking was excellent and great value. Could not fault anything at this venue which is quite an achievement as I am quite critical. Congratulations to you and your team. Definitely will return.

The room I stayed was not clean. The table top, quilt, mattresses, pillows had lots of dust. The whole night I was coughing and sneezing due to dust allergy. Had a terrible stay.

I have stayed here a few times, location is great, not too expensive and rooms and hotel are clean and modern. However, I am sick to death of the paperwork issues I have with you. I have repeatedly updated my email address and requested invoices be sent when I am checking out, but you never update the records properly and I have to chase for invoices. Again I have had to chase for a tax invoice as you have sent the information to the wrong email address. We are all too busy to have to repeat everything and do extra work. It isn't acceptable

I've stayed here several times on business over ten years ago and it was surrounded by building work every time I've been including this latest visit. However it wasn't really noticeable in our 10th floor suite which was lovely and had fantastic views of the Yarra. There was some noise from service areas close to the room and noise from the railway. |Breakfast is manic especially when an airline crew turn up all together (which seemed to be almost every day) and it didn't help when Breakfast items were moved to different locations ( cereal for example) each day. We wouldn't recommend breakfast here. |The pool is in the middle of the building outside. Not great. |So why stay here? It's in a prime location with everything in walking distance and public transport links outside the door. It's clean and well maintained and all the staff are kind and very helpful. When the building work is completed I'm sure the ratings will improve.

We stayed for 5 nights in this modern and convenient IHG Crowne Plaza. We were enthusiastically welcomed by Tina in reception and were greeted with a warm message and gift in our room. Stan and Thomas at concierge gave us useful information on transportation options and trip packages. We’ve only used IHG properties on this trip to the South Pacific and we’ve not been disappointed.

As mentioned above the night staff on our day 1 seemed to be unknowledged of what he was doing the only thing he mentioned was manager inspects every room. I tried to explain him but that’s the only thing he mentioned. On day 2 I called desk even though they were 4 people on the desk none of them cared to answer I had to come down and tell them what I needed which was a long walk by the way. Except the staff hotel and location and cleanliness is excellent. Would definitely prefer for someone who doesn’t need any assistance from the staff.

Avoid room 327. Faulty Fire alarm, only in my room, went off at 2 am. Terrible experience!

This hotel is awesome. We had a huge room with a beautiful walk in shower and the VIEW !!! our room overlooked the Yarra river was so beautiful , watching the boats on the river and the tram cars on the street, Had a fantastic free morning breakfast too. Best hotel ever :)

I stupidly booked the incorrect night and on arrival the staff we fantastic ensuring that we were accommodated after travelling quite a distance for an occasion. They could not have been more friendly and understanding.

I love staying at Crown Plaza and so does my husband. This is our go to when we visit Melbourne. Love the decor, the ambience and the staff are always accommodating. Can't wait to stay again soon.

Poor room design. Due to lack of bench top in the bathroom, I had to put my cosmetics bag on the floor. The floor felt sticky and no slippers were provided. And very poor sound proofing. Can hear bangs from the next room and people talking in corridor. Worst of all, there was no room service for my dinner - I arrived at 9pm and asked for room service dinner; and I was shocked to be told that I have to wait for at least one hour for the meal to be delivered.
