Seriously amazing food... so unexpected in a small club. Also lovely outdoor setting, live music that punch's above its weight, and a real community feel.
One of the best burgers I’ve ever had! Thanks for making us feel welcome!
Fabulous little club and great intimate music venue. I believe it is volunteer run and they do an outstanding job. The meals were excellent. We'll be back.
Came to see a gig here on Sunday evening. What an amazing spot. I hope I have more reasons to come back. Great atmosphere, beer and food too. ❤️
Bad customer service, food took forever to come and even my kids felt they were not welcome. The lady at the reception was quite unfriendly and treated us like we had done something wrong from the second we stepped in. What is with this place? Do they just not like visitors?
Best bowlo on the island!
The only dinner option on Dangar island for eating out. Friendly service and tasty food. Please note they prefer bookings so not to be short staffed.
Enjoyed a lovely lunch sitting outside enjoying the dappled light and local fauna and cold beer!
Only open 6:00pm-9:30pm Mainly for the locals
Not enough hours in the day
my sister got stuck in the bathroom and i hurt my feet walking on the gravel but a random guy gave me tons of alchol on new years eve and then a very drunk women talked about a dog
A small local bowlo that punches well above its weight in terms of great food, friendly service and good vibes all round.
What a delight it is, to sit under the trees and soak up island life, whilst sipping a wine and eating the delicious food served at the Bowling club. Sharon's meals are consistently amazing, with always a great vegetarian option available. The service is super friendly and the drinks cold. I love coming here each and every time.
Five star food, full of flavours and fresh ingredients. Absolutely delicious!!! Sharon is a great chef with creative ideas, her menu is fantastic!
Such a beautiful nature setting for a bowling club and watching live music from the best musicians in the garden. Great food, with salad fresh from the veggie patch. Top day on Dangar!
Such a great experience the other day, as usual... The magical atmosphere, the high standard, locally sourced ingredients and seasonal specials make the island experience one that never tires! Super!!
Fabulous food, natural and beautiful setting great place to eat.
Sharon and the team were friendly and served us some really nice meals. It's old school. Just the way I like it.
Terrible. They were rude and wouldn't give me dessert. I asked, they said it would take 45 minutes to get me a piece of cake. I waited 40 minutes and they said the kitchen was closed and scowled at me as if I had no right to ask. My meal was ok. They lost a lot of money on dessert for 11 people. Avoid.
Thanks Sharon and staff. Quaint little bowlo, nice atmosphere over looking the lawn and there's a playground where the kids can let lose. Having a salad which comes from their own vege patch is really nice.
It's as basic as you get, but the pizza is good, and the tunes are great. If you're on the island you really should make time to visit.
Nice place in middle of nowhere
I really thank the club for being here, as a resident I love the opportunity to meet my Chums and enjoy our good fortune...thanks Bowlo, Maudie
Quaint local bowling club. Friendly staff and the fish and chips were pretty good! They also have bands and open mic the first Friday of every month!
A very quaint and cute little club that seems a world away from everything. There is not a huge range of meals from which to choose but they are delicious, healthy, and good sized servings. The staff are friendly as are the locals. A very relaxed atmosphere set amongst the bushland surroundings.
First time ever visiting beautiful Dangar Island to see the great Jeff Lang on 7/7/19. The bowlo is a small low-key venue and only about a 2-minute walk from the jetty. Dangar Island is unique and its setting on the Hawkesbury stunning!

Great old club with good vibes once a month
What could be better than a bowlo on an island? A warm, cosy atmosphere, with a small indoor dining room, spilling out to a terrace and beautiful lawns to play and have a picnic. Live music was great and the food was delicious. Yes there was a long wait for meals on a Sunday, but the staff were absolutely slammed, and they let us know and were serving with a smile. Can't wait to return!
Great atmosphere and fine food!
They clearly need a better way of managing the orders in the kitchen. I placed an for a Fish Burger and had to wait for 1.5 hours to get it. It was really an ordinary burger and not worth the wait. The crown was not too much to justify such a huge delay and the staff and not even apologetic about it, when asked for update, they said its normal for such a wait and the more they give updates to us, the more the delay will be. I agree with that, but its a sad state of affairs there.
The pizzas are nice. I love the relaxed warm atmosphere.
Welcoming staff, good beer, only average food.
Another day of loud unpleasant music. No one at the club seems interested in answering the phone, so cannot even ask for it to be toned down. A shame that an otherwise pleasant, sunny Sunday is ruined by unnecessary noise. Live music is fine, but why does it have to be amplified and the entire island forced to listen to it? I would never go to the club, certainly not for the so called music.
Very relaxed chilled place. Not too busy, great place to go for a drink. Bar staff extremely friendly
Love this place, the food is great and I love their music events
Simple island restaurant and bar with friendly staff, good food, and very cheap drinks. Recommend this place for anyone staying on Dangar Island!
Nice and cosy place, good food and lovey staff
Four of us arrived at 11.30am (as advertised). Told in unwelcoming manner (though not rude), that opening time 12 noon, we should have booked because there are only 2 staff, then again, you should have booked but you can come back at 12 if we wanted to. Come back? Not with that welcome. Went straight to the cafe at the wharf where we were welcomed, had good food, and great water views - without booking!
The food was not good here . . . it's pretty much the only place you can get a meal on the island in the evening and it's a shame. My pasta sauce wasn't cooked through . . . the two stars are pretty much only for the cold beer in such a beautiful spot.
Nice and silent
Quaint Club & Community
The food is undercooked. Chicken nearly raw.
