Great place to meet for lunch or dinner or just a few drinks very friendly staff and lots of parking hard to find on the Gold Coast

Rib fillet was a tough as boots. Chicken Schnitzel was tasteless. Mushroom sauce is always amazing: chips average. For $90 all up not worth the feed. Staff are always great. However, as a Butcher, do not serve that rubbish Rib to anyone! I couldn’t even slice it let alone chew it, worst part is this is the third time which warranted the review.

My partner and myself thought we would just try the Tavern for a change. We both enjoyed the layout and the decor. The staff were amazing, friendly efficient and courteous. The food was lovely and all the above contributed to a very good dinning experience.

The new manager is extremely rude and has no idea how to manage the place. Her behavior towards customers is unacceptable, and she treats them terribly.

Good food, and a great and consistent friendly service. I have been coming to this place for more than 25 years, and he had is ups and downs, from all different owners, managements and ideas. For the past last two years and since all the new renovations was done, It is a much better venue more family orientated and more elegant local tavern, the food the specials, the nice live music on Sundays. And my favourite dish at the moment are still the tasty steaks. A special thank you to the restaurant manager and all staff for your great service. VS

It was a little noisy on Tuesday night.

Absolutely rude manager. When I asked to speak to the manager concerning an issue with drinks, she was extremely rude and unprofessional. Even to the point of citing racism against herself. It was a drinks dispute. Why would she bring up her race? She seemed to take our complaint personally and was very nasty and dismissive and called for security. It was the most unprofessional and volitile interaction I've ever recieved at a venue in regards to an easily rectified situation. I will never return or recommend this establishment to anyone, solely due to the managers completely off hinged reaction.

Rude staff and manager a group of 7 of us were there having a great time and asked to leave for having a good time

Great atmosphere and service. The menu has something for everyone and reasonably priced too. I’ve been looking for a place that still serves Chicken Parmis with Boscaiola topping - the Goldcoast Tavern delivered! Soooo yum!

The best steak in town at a great price. Usually do the prawn topper with bearnaise sauce but not on this occasion. Staff are lovely & it has a great atmosphere.

The Greek Lamb skewers on the bistro specials are worth the drive alone. Put them on the main menu please. They are only matched by the wonderful service from Karen, Grace and the rest of the staff. Fabulous lunch setting and not bad at twilight either.

Great dining experience all round. We are regulars but lop we had dined with first timers and they were very impressed and will probably return.

Guys you have the best burgers, meat, salads, the crispy salmon salad was the best my father had ever tasted and your beer/drink selection is outstanding , your doing very well and I hope you never change what you have, I have visited your establishment 4 times whilst on my 2 week holiday up here on the goldcoast.

It was nice but they’ve had far better vegetarian options on past menus.

We had a beautiful pre-Christmas lunch and a few cold drinks. as always the service at GCT is just wonderful. Hats off to Grace, who defines what a cheerful, warm and capable service provider should be - So thank you Grace and the staff of GCT for making our occasion special and memorable.

I had a disappointing experience with the bar staff. After enjoying three cocktails, we were unexpectedly cut off, despite sitting down and clearly not being overly intoxicated. It was frustrating, especially since we're locals who would have appreciated better service. This approach certainly doesn't foster customer loyalty.

Amazing staff and food. Can’t go past the Lunch menu salmon bowl. Great value and so good. With my birthday vouchers, $10 for food and $10 to spend at the bar! So even better. Thx GCT!

I celebrated my 40th birthday recently here and it was a great experience. It was easy to book a table and once we arrived we were very happy to find it was in the perfect spot. The staff were lovely and the food was great. We really enjoyed our experience and will definitely be back again. Highly recommend.

I don’t want to drop any review up here just had a worse experience with one of the staff girl call Gracie a-little girl in the bar other day I was talking to her just normal and also I’m regular there and I’m old so yeah we all talk to the people if we go somewhere most of the time so it’s normal and she called her dad to talk to me cause she talk to me every time if she sees me and her dad went like don’t come here and don’t talk to my daughter anymore otherwise I will do this or that and I cannot do anything cause I don’t argue or fight after a girl specially however so I have nothing to say and I left straight way cause I didn’t do anything wrong and she told her dad I was harassing her how can I so if someone talk to someone at workplace so it means it’s harassment anyway there is no coming back for me and also don’t go there guys if you go avoid little grumpy and smart girl call Gracie stay away from her and she is not nice at all worst experience ever I had.

Been quite a few times now, food is good and always served quickly. The service is always amazing - today we had a small issue with my wife’s meal and the lady serving us couldn’t do enough to rectify the issue - she really went above and beyond. Will definitely be back again.

My husband and I stopped in for lunch and a few bevvies today to pump us up ready for the NRL granny tonight, and we couldn’t have felt more welcomed. The venue is stunning, with a refreshing breeze and a beautiful water view. The staff were fantastic — friendly, attentive, and they all seemed genuinely happy to be there. As for the food? Absolutely top-notch. We’ll definitely be back, and this spot might just become our new go-to!

We had a group of 12 last night (5th October) and the food, cocktails and service was fantastic. We came along primarily to watch the Polar Bears (band) play, as we are big fans. They had the whole place jumping and the atmosphere was awesome. Our whole party had a great night and we will definitely be back! Please also get the Polar Bears back on a regular basis :)

Can’t rate Brett highly enough, ran around after a big group of ladies, got me a special meal as had broken jaw, over catered to all of us. Top bloke can’t speak highly enough of him and the risotto was amazing - thanks Brett your the best

We were late for our booking time for about 20 mins due to traffic, when making a call to inform the lateness, staff was very friendly and welcoming. As soon as we arrived staff knew us by name and showed us the reserved table. We had Karen looking after us and she was very passionate with her job, we were well looked after during the time we were there. We had pizza pasta and risotto there and none of them disappoint us at all! It was a great dining experience and surely will visit next time when we are in Gold Coast.

Great tavern for Sunday lunch. Light & sunny venue overlooking the water. Easy to order a drink & food. Meals were a notch above your usual pub & club fare. Highly recommended for a casual Sunday afternoon with a few friends.

Group of 7 ladies (over 50s) out for lunch. Order meals and drinks . Manager says no one was doing anything wrong (the manager constantly said NO ONE has done anything wrong ) however despite this our whole group was refused service . No reason was given and we were invited to stay but with no service . Unfortunately spoiled a good catch up . Absolutely disgraceful on this venues behalf , don’t waste your time going there plenty of better run establishments on the Gold Coast . UPDATE: An investigation requires you to do more than have your own staff covering their butts and hiding behind responsible service publicly in a review to cover your poor management! Especially when in an email you admitted your staff could have handle it much better. What a disappointing reply .

Disappointed 💯 Ladies long lunch , 645pm young man approaches our table and informs us we won't be served any more drinks . We had spent money on our lunches and drinks . He told us we had done nothing wrong . We weren't being rude or disrespectful. A message to all the staff please read, I hope you all never have to endure some of the life and health challenges these women have endured throughout their lives.The reason for our regular lunches . I will never return, I will never recommend this restaurant to anyone I know, you ruin a much loved catch up. Don't worry though we had a beautiful dinner else where , was welcomed with open arms and then we went home . We would of probably done the same at your establishment. Very let down with no reason. Perhaps as a suggestion, get a band in in Saturday night and maybe the atmosphere would be so much better.

Great pub/bistro near HOTA and the races with a nice outlook over the canals to the skyscrapers of Surfers Paradise. Cold drinks served by friendly staff. The food is great and has good vegetarian options (awesome your vegetable salad or seasoned veggies and mash as a dish). The steak was also excellent for the carnivores as was the Jamaican jerk chicken. Lots of cheap specials during the week.

Five ladies thoroughly enjoyed our lunch on Tuesday, 3 had the salmon special, one the chicken & pumpkin risotto and I enjoyed the pork belly! Delicious food, clean and tidy, great happy service and a chilled bottle of Prosecco was also enjoyed. We will be back!

This was our second visit to GGT and again we were not disappointed. There were eight of us and our meals were delicious, served by lovely friendly staff. The Tavern Is situated by the water so it feels calm and welcoming, it has a great buzz about it with many voices talking loudly but somehow it works, the atmosphere is happy and relaxed. Somewhere to stay and enjoy a coffee or another wine maybe after your meal. The Staff I think deserve a special mention, attentive and good fun. 🤩

Overzealous middle aged security guard told 7 50+ patrons to quieten down at 7.45pm. Band was awesome, place was empty, food was great. All having fun but felt we wanted to leave as weren’t felt welcome
