We came for dinner for my son’s birthday and we’re so impressed! Loved the great menu, with so many options, and the value for money. Even more impressive though, was the quality of the food and the excellent service. We will be back!

Honestly disappointed for my first time attending, We arrived at 8pm ordered cheesy garlic bread, a southern chicken burger and the roast of the day (pork)the meal was spot on 👍 the lady’s behind the counter and bar were extremely helpful and kind The one that left a bad taste in my mouth was a lady with a pink bow in her hair, all she was worried about was finishing at 9pm and telling other staff to hurry along and pick-up everyone’s plates ( seemed like before they were finished) We were made to feel like we weren’t wanted there and felt rushed and not welcomed. Again very disappointed 👎 not great customer service

Sadly, we were pushed to order our food while waiting for our other guests to arrive. We asked what the specials were online we had seen and were told the menu was stolen so they didn't know. We placed an order where their gimmick of if we dont offer the $5 garlic bread you get it free seemed to be missing much like the previous stated menu. Mind you this re appeared after we ordered.... When we received our orders, meal sizes were good, looked presented well but sadly Upon finishing, the staff didn't seem active, and our plates were left on the table until we left as we were waiting for the deserts to be delivered where unfortunately they never came so we decided after an hour it was time we left. That evening and the following day, sadly, a few of us weren't feeling great. Possible coincidence I'm not sure.

Staff are friendly and helpful beer was cold . Would be a great place if it had a public bar so you could catch up with friends.

Great place to catch up with friends for lunch

Great space for a venue for a private party. You have your own bar and smoking room. We used our phone for spotify and used the WiFi to connect to the speakers. There was plenty of room to lounge on the lounge suite, stand or sit taller tables, and had round tables for sitting and chatting. Great atmosphere and friendly staff.

I came into the Golden Fleece for a friend’s gathering.. it’s a very beautiful set up inside.. but it’s the vibe or ‘energy’ that is radiating from the staff there.. being a vibrational energy healer I was so lifted by the energy and friendliness of the staff. Can definitely recommend for a great vibe’ place to go! Extra credit for Alana (Alena?) I’m sure you know who I mean. She’s great! 👍.. lovely to actually receive great customer service and quick efficient service - no exceptions! My personal gripe at restaurants is the lack of follow up and clearing of plates and the staff were so attentive to this so very happy! Might try to steal her from you!

I’m only reviewing this hotel for one reason and that is the staff, namely ‘Alana’ .. for a pub in Melton my father visits frequently, I now understand why.. I was genuinely surprised at how efficient and friendly she was, always catering to my fathers extensive health requirements and ensuring my ‘requirements’ were also was catered for.. not only did she constantly check in to ensure we had everything we needed and quick to replace the dropped utensils the kids knocked of the table and if there was anything else she could do to make our family gathering feel more comfortable.. Alana is an absolute asset to your business and I now know why my father insists on having his outings there. Very happy, not many places have such good service these days.

A small gathering to celebrate the life of a dear friend, Alana managed to ruin. 17 guests, we were told ‘you’s are rude for coming here unannounced’ . . . She managed to tell every patron coming in, how inconvenienced she was by our small gathering for lunch. The meal was lovely, thank you to Jess for hearing our concerns.

I went for lunch on a quiet Tuesday, but around the same time, a group of about 17 guests from a funeral also arrived for lunch. One of the wait staff, Alana, displayed a disappointing attitude, referring to the guests as rude. These people had just said goodbye to a loved one and deserved a respectful reception. Fortunately, another staff member, Jess, stepped in, offered to serve the guests, and even suggested a private dining space for them. Throughout our meal, however, Alana continued to complain about the funeral guests and even turned away other paying customers.

Could have a better variety of vegetables with the meals.

Lovely venue. It's been done up beautifully.. The only problem I had was that staff are ready to take your plate instead of asking if you have finished.

The staff were lovely and couldn't have been more friendly to our group of 20+ adults and 5 toddlers/young children. I had a beautiful lamb salad with pomegranate seeds and my partner had a perfectly cooked lamb with mash. The meals came out quickly, despite being a large group, and we can see why our family (who live in the area) recommended the venue so highly for our lunch.

Monday steak lunch - Large yet cozy sunlit dining room, fireplace. Nice staff. Steaks and seafood high standard - Only criticism rare delivered closer to medium.

Stopped on a Saturday afternoon after work to have a few quick beers and watch the races. Was lucky enough to back a few winners, and went to collect my winning.. I was told by management I couldn't collect my winnings, as the sports bar was closed ?? 4.30pm ?? Why have a T.A.B guys ?? I was rudely told to go to Mac's hotel to collect my money 💰.. WOW. Made the mistake of stopping here again. There toilets are disgusting.. no soap to even was your hands?? Big clean out there in staff is well over due. Management need to stand up..

Took Mum out for her 74th birthday only to wait 45min for lunch to be served on a Monday presentation wasn't great the Hamburger bun was small & every thing within the bun fell apart after 3 bites, if i hadn't paid up front i would have walked out

Removed four stars as it was but pricey but food was good. 3 1/2 stars but couldn’t give it half star more here. Christmas in July coul have been jazzed up was not very great entertainment wise nor exciting food menu.

Just came in to have breakfast and after 20 mins of waiting i decided to go and asked whats going and the two ladies who are working gave me attitudes playing the victim card... The service is terrible. I think they are racist. They serve white people first and i was waiting there way before those people..just not on! Most of young people staff are fantastic. Omg why did i even come here to have breakfast

Went to the Fleece for the first time and ordered Seniors meals. Wow! The staff were amazing, so helpful, and a shout out to Rhonda who kindly provided me a takeaway container for my leftover soup from the big cauli soup that was the best I've ever had in my life, but I couldn't eat it all! The garlic bread was just delicious. My Husband had the prawn spring rolls and fish 'n chips, thoroughly enjoyed it. The meals, prices, atmosphere you can't go past. Thanks everyone.

I had lunch here and it was quite lovely. The only down side was that I got handed a beer glass that was dirty, but a quick chat to the staff and it was all sorted. The food was good, the bbq parma was maybe top 10 of all parmas I've had but I'll have to have it again to confirm.

Been here twice and service is very average. Staff forgetting orders, mixing orders up and not knowing what’s on the menu when asking a simple question such as what sauce is available. Waiting to be designated a seat too long. Very poor TAB facilities. 2 Sky Racing screens that is located in an extremely small area (only 2 tables available for seating). I wasn’t able to watch the racing because these 2 tables were already occupied. Very poor. On the flip side, food tastes nice.

Fantastic management at this venue. I love what they are doing to support local veterans and supporting the local young diggers. Great food, great service, extremely clean and modern fitout.

Extramaly good costumer service we orded a salad and we realised we couldn't have it we got free refil on all drinks and free chese of the day and all the food was worth the price all the staff are also really nice

Went to have lunch and got told food would be a hour and a half as they had function and told us as they didn’t want to have us seated and wait for food and get a bad review, if you have a function booked then have more staff on it’s a Friday

We attended Saturday night, whilst it was busy the staff were polite and prompt. Kimberly was all service with a smile. Alana is Gold!! I have worked in hospitality for 30 years and watching Alana work the floor, was entertsining!. Alana doesn't stop, she is like that Eveready bunny! And all with a smile and charm. Went here for a evening meal with friends. Staff were polite and friendly, service was a bit slow. Menu lacks variety for vegitarians and vegans. I ordered mushroom burger, which consisted of three slices of mushrooms, one slice of lettuce and cheese in a bun with chips. Definitely not worth $26 and not as nice as the beetroot bun and burger and chips, the Golden Fleece used to serve.

Service was not the best. Requested cheesy garlic bread, and it came with bacon. The roast had about 4 wedges and cold vegetables. The apple crumble was good but horrible presentation. As you can see in the photo.

I had not been here in several years but when our family of four had dinner here on new years eve I was pleasantly surprised. Service was very quick even though it was fairly busy and all of our meals were delicious. Highly recommended!
