Best Caesar salad in Launceston. The Oysters came our warm but were still fresh. Still, warm oysters is not my bang. The oysters Kilpatrick here are done well. Drink prices are pretty average. I measure most drink prices next to The Park in Invermay, as they're the cheapest I've found in Launceston.

The Caesar salad had chips of hardened bacon (it may have been pork) one sad poached egg left over from breakfast and the chunks of lettuce stem you would throw away. Nasty … my first meal in Launceston I won’t give you good advertising

A little disappointing. Food was average and over cooked.

The Salmon Bruchetta was delicious; there was a good selection of cheese on the cheese platter however the macadamia nuts were dreadful. We ordered 2 Chicken Caesar salads and one turned up with salmon. This was returned to the kitchen and it looked very much like the original salad was returned without the salmon and some chicken dumped on top. ( despite this error the salads were tasty). The steak of the day was good and our Leto guest was accommodated with salad and greens. The Greek lamb was delicious. The young staff were cheerful and always obliging however a little more training around ensuring everything is in order would be beneficial. (eg. All guests have cutlery and salt and pepper is available.) All in all we had an enjoyable meal at the rooftop bar.

Fantastic food and amazing prices to match. Loving the upstairs space. Winter time the roof is closed and heaters are on for a nice atmosphere. Summer time the roof is open and feels amazing.

Booked a table for 5 in December for January 19th which is a Sunday, I rang and booked and wasn't told they were closed on Sunday and I did say it was for Sunday ,had people drive in from Deloraine for a birthday lunch ,got there and they were closed, sign on door did say this but I also received 4 emails tell me not to forget my booking. We were all very disappointed 😞 because we were all looking forward to lunch .

Do yourself a favour and get the 500g scotch fillet. It’s a lot but could be the best steak I’ve had. It was a little overdone for what I’m usually after (more medium than medium rare) but this didn’t matter. Do it

Excellent night out! Exactly what the group and I were looking for to celebrate after a hard week's work. The atmosphere was just great and the staff had a joyful, warm and welcoming attitude, the food was magnificent in every way and the service was to a professional level of commitment and efficiency. Well done to all who work there and the manager/owner.

WlNice place but we waited an hour for our food. The food was fresh but terribly cooked unfortunately. The pork was so overcooked, and the ' crumbed ' scallops were smothered in the thickest batter prior to crumbing. There was obviously something wrong I'm the kitchen which we can understand. What I don't understand is that the owner said the pork was fine and no one had complained today. He offered our money back. I felt we were patronised. The ingredients were great, it's the cooking process. Own up to it. We tried to give constructive feedback, but that was thrown on our face. We are tourists, we have tried food all over Tasmania and the world. Disappointed with the owner more than the food. Own up to it! The menu is so good. Hopefully you get a better experience.

I took my son the for a beer and dinner. We ordered the Chicken Parmy. I have had planty over my life time, they were delicious and the best we ever had.

Have eaten there several times and food has always been excellent and the service. However yesterday I ordered the lunch size schnitzel which I’d had before and was served up a very thin schnitzel literally cut in half. I questioned this only to be told that’s how they always did it which has not been so in the past. I was asked if I wanted something else and foolishly ordered a parmi. It arrived loaded with ham and cheese and doubly cooked chips. Very disapointed. The salad was good.

The food was so good and the prices were very good. Our mains were less than $31. Mediterranean lamb chops were to die for!

Dropped in last night for a few drinks and a bite ($22 pot & party was great value). The publican/owner chatted to us for a while. Such a friendly, welcoming guy, as too were all the other staff. Will definitely pull in again the next time I'm in Launceston

Friendly service ,the whole place has a good feel about it

I hadn't sampled the (gourmet) mixed grill until last night and it was magnificent! Would recommend it to anyone. My dining companion from Bathurst is still raving about it. As always excellent service, atmosphere and drinks selection.

Went there tonight with a party of 10. Food came out rather quickly considering the amount of people dining. I ordered a side of potato skins. Very disappointed with it. Very bland, no taste, couldn't eat them. Lucky the parmigiana was better. We asked if there was a dessert menu at 8.30pm only to be told the kitchen was closed for the night. I asked for a Kuala and milk for a drink only to be told they had no milk and he was too busy to go get some. Overall the others in our party enjoyed their meal, but personally I won't be going back.

Got all the sport you need.

Two weeks in a row and 6 good meals, good prices, good food, a great pub feed, I'll be back.

Good chicken parma, warm place, could easily spend an afternoon. Only issue was the hot chips were so salty I couldn't eat them.

I have now visited the plough twice, the first time was amazing and I thought wow finally a real pub still exist. I thought let's go again, the second time was equally as good or even better. This place is fantastic the food is better than some fine dining places I highly recommend

Got there on the Tuesday. Steak special night. I'm still someone who yearns for the old $10 steak and chips days. This special was $27. Having said that... it was done blue as ordered... with very nice vegetables and good quality mash. All baking hot on heated plates. (The quality of mashed spuds is a good indication of the quality of the chef). They were busy... but the food was coming out of the kitchen briskly. Friendly servers.

The older guy behind the bar is awesome, friendly and honest. Most of the staff are friendly and helpful. Food servings are big and tasty. Hubby is celiac and found the gluten free options to be numerous. Thanks

Just popped in for an alert and was satisfactory with most punters watching sport on the TV or playing the pokies. Easy going pub.

We travel from Busselton, Western Australia each year to Launceston and every time return to The Plough Inn... It's CONSISTENTLY top notch! Great menu, fantastic food, staff and atmosphere... Launceston's BEST PUB hands down in every way - will be back in 2023 for another Mixed Grill - AWESOME!!

Great food and atmosphere , return ed this evening once again , family of three had x2 steak and pot night specials and one prawn pizza ( photos attached) well we were all extremely happy with everything from service ,cleanliness to how the steaks were cooked. Well done everyone and thank you. See you again soon. We returned again tonight all meals were to the high standard of last fortnight.

Was a lovely environment to have a chill out and a nice cold beer, would definitely come her If you prefer a more relaxed vibe, the staff were nice as well.

Chicken Schnitzel ist super lecker. Ich habe die Lunch Variante auch abends bekommen. Unten ist eine Sportsbar, oben gibt es auch einen kleinen Rooftop Bereich. Sport wir auf den Bildschirmen übertragen

Avoid this place at all cost. We called and asked if there was a dairy free option and was told there was no issue when we booked. On arrival we were informed that even the vegan options contained dairy. The staff we rude and refused to ask the kitchen saying that gluten was the same thing as dairy free. I had to ask them to go downstairs and speak to the chef. One staff tried to upsell me the most expensive steak ever. The staff had no training what's so ever. We had to ask multiple staff to change the TV in the booth at first they said we couldn't then after an hour the allowed us to change channels. They didn't even understand that Veganism is the practice of abstaining from the use of animal products such as milk. Then they forgot an entire meal with no apologises. Worst experience ever. 😪

2 story pub with outdoor area upstairs. Strange layout, as the premises cannot decide if it's a pub or a restaurant. At the moment, it's neither. We were halfway through a lovely, quiet dinner when 20 loud, rude and drunk blokes arrived upstairs. Ruined the meal and experience. Security or management should have told them to shut up.
