Senior garlic prawns.should have complained and sent back.rice was cold and lumps salad rocket lettuce I slice of tomatoes.that is not a salad.very poor.

Food was nice had roast of the day. Service was so so. No one there to check in people to their tables. After a couple of minutes I gave up and went to counter where you order food and told them I didn't know my table number because no one is checking people. They got someone to do it.

It's my favourite place to get together with friends. Reasonably priced everyday favourite menu + drinks! Love this place ❤️

Great venue professional staff

I ordered last week grilled burramandy, i got few parts of chopped burra, not grilled but sreamed or overcooked in water. Just wasn't right.

I let staff know a bloke was making a bit of a ruckus in front of older customers. When she went & said something to him politely- then walked past me & yelled “happy now” in my face . The manager then turned on me in front of these ppl I feel showing off saying if you want to talk , talk to me in a rude loud way . I just scratch my head about manners with some it’s a rsl not a boxing ring.. told me not to come back., lady there are much better places.. sorry to a couple of better staff

Online menus and dishes are not longer served. Apparently the noodles and beef hasn't been served for 3 years.

I had a most disappointing unfortunate meal when I ordered the Seniors Garlic Prawns. It included 4 prawns in an almost tasteless sauce, rice, a couple of pieces of broccoli (some on the plate is my husbands because he doesn’t like broccoli) and zucchini. The child’s hamburger was a bigger serve and cheaper. The toddler had chicken nuggets that came with chips and salad and this a bigger meal and was cheaper than my meal. It was the stingiest worst meal I’ve ever had. The three other adults on our table laughed out loud to see my meal. Come on Highett RSL do better or remove this from your menu.

Friendly staff popular restaurant with decent meals

We had a wonderful experience at Highett RSL yesterday. As our end of season U18 boys basketball event, we had a hard time finding a venue which can accommodate 15 people. From the friendly booking service to a busy evening where our headcount increased to 19, staff were extremely helpful, patient and kind in their service to accommodate us. Thank you to the team for giving us a memorable evening, even after a sad loss of the boys basketball game, everyone had fun at Highett RSL. Highly recommend. (Oh food was delicious and reasonably priced too).

We go to the RSL club every Friday night for dinner and the raffles, and on Saturday morning again for the meat tray raffles. The dinners are tasty, affordable with specials and Senior meals. The menu is changed regularly and every meal I’ve eaten has been served quickly and is tasty. We’ve made many friends there and we are very pleased to have somewhere to go that’s familiar with a pleasant atmosphere. Of course they have the obligatory pokies which are well enough set aside to not bother us, there are several tv’s showing a variety of different sports, and a well ventilated smoking area. The staff are all friendly and polite and all in all the Highett RSL is a small but great addition to the squad.

Appalling meal served today which was the Lasagne. If you want a McCains lasagne I would have done that at home. Served up only bare minimum of chips say one handful with a very pitiful excuse for a salad. The way the staff dealt with me even when I said I have been a regular for years ment absolutely nothing. Shame on you for ripping off people who try to support your local RSL. Going out for a meal today is a major treat these days. And you serve me up a kids size McCains obviously packaged lasagna- just poor poor poor never to return and if I speak to anyone I advise not to.

Easy going very flexible and friendly

I am a member of RSL and have been coming to the Highett branch for some time with family and friends and we have always enjoyed our meals and the service until last Friday 5th July when I attended with my wife for lunch which was the most disappointing meal we have ever had at this establishment. Our roast pork was tasteless, no crackling, the potatoes were boiled not roasted and the vegetables hardly cooked and were rock hard. The serving size has been reduced and my wife's lemon lime and bitters was also tasteless. A most disappointing lunch indeed. John

Waited over an hour for food to come when it did the steak was dry and could not chew it. The potato and the mash were dreadfully dry. Staff were very friendly

Just paid $27 for a terrible Sunday roast. Processed turkey roll. One tiny potato (boiled) and pumpkin. All cold. Never again. A pity as it used to be good.

Very average food, not worth the price nor the wait (food took at least 45 minutes to come). I had the battered fish that tasted flavourless, the salad was old, and the chips were all hard. Won't be back.

A lovely surprise on entering. Very friendly staff and large areas with seating for meals or a chat. The interior decorating was very relaxing with plenty of greenery. A large display around the venue of past members with history and their medals. Very well done and highlights everyday people who have given service. The meals were delicious and plentiful, very quick service. A pleasure to take my mum and friend out for lunch.

Nice place for meals but parking could be a problem depending on when you go.

Private lunch upstairs. Had to go downstairs and get the group milk for the tea/coffee myself. Schnitzel was not drained before putting on the plate, very greasy, the salad dressing had so much sugar in it I couldn't eat the salad, 😡 cheesecake was a commercial brand and frozen. Either the cook is a smoker or doesn't taste the dressings once made or manipulated. 0/10. First impressions count. The young male and female Servers were nice and helpful upstairs on the day.

great place for lunch, this was our 3rd time there, and everything was spot on. simple but great and at a good price, and relaxing.. will have to make our lunch visits more often.. many thanks to all the staff

This RSL has a very good menu selection and so far what I have had had been delicious. Would recommend the Paella.

Had a meal with friends on Thursday.. my partner & our friends meals were awful.. My paella was dry, no flavour, hubby's spag marinara tasteless hardly any seafood in it. Other chicken scalopini was tough & the steak was very small. Disappointed as we've frequented Highett rsl for over 20years.

I picture 3 as nutual. This venue was better than worse.

The signing in process was swift, as long as you have your driver's licence with you and prepared to have it scanned. We met 7 others there and we had a large table. Service at the bar was prompt. Seniors menu available and orders came to table in reasonable time. Join the raffle for meat trays if you're feeling lucky. Sports bar has lots of TVs.

We've been to the Highett RSL many times now and have always found the food, drinks and prices to be great so much so that we often take our family and freinds as guests. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The only gripe we have here is that the parking can sometimes be problematic however, we still highly recommend it.

First time lunch visitor who enjoyed the meal in the sports bar area. Good value.

Went here to meet some ppl. Meal was good, not a long wait, good atmosphere. Would go again anytime.

A great smaller local RSL doing good things

I thoroughly recommend the meals, service and atmosphere here. A group of friends get together once a month for a meal and chat. No-one has ever had a meal less than perfect. Good prices and a wide range of menu choices.

A very approachable sports bar with viewing for all angles and major events. Food wise - have only had the Parma and it’s been consistently good at a fair price. Friendly staff and decent sized gaming room for those one finger bandits. I think it’s the modernised, yet down to earth nature of the place that is the main draw cards for patrons. Recommend.

Decent RSL for a feed & reasonably priced food!

Nice venue a veriety of food on Menu including seniors specials. Food good service good. Nice friendly staff. Large area but bookings necessary as very popular place. Parking available. If interested in pokies they are available and lot of choice.

A very pleasant RSL tucked away just off the main Street in Highett. All on one level with a bar, dining room, TAB and small pokies area. Food is very good with an extensive seniors menu. Highly recommended for seniors. Lots of regular locals dine here. Service is with a smile and very friendly. Definitely worth a visit.

The food was amazing, great deal for a schnitty and coke. The food took so long to come out, we were a table of that orderd with 5 minutes of each but our meals took between 45 mins and 110 mins to arrive. The last 2 only arrived e after following up with staf multiple. Jay was absolutely amazing, great attendance, friendly service and extremely helpful. Certainly helped to make our ridiculous wait time tolerable.

Lovely staff.I ordered the calamari chips and salad.The Calamari and chips were perfectly cooked.The salad though unfortunately had the worst dressing ever....bitter and not not nice.even praise mayonnaise from supermarket would have been so much better.Disappointing when the chef did so well but dressing disgusting
