Can't have rubbery and cold pork belly especially waited for half an hour. Others already finished their meals by the time I got mine.

We’ve made booking for lunch but our table wasn’t reserved. I’ve ordered Eye fillet steak with roasted chat potatoes and veges. Steak was really good but there were no potatoes.

The chefs here are cooking worse and worse, when I ordered the food I asked for Medium, it came out Medium rare, when I told them again, it came out something like char char. The quality of the meat is very poor, too many roots... I can't bite it open even if I bite it hard

Always enjoy the Helensvale Tavern and the quality of the steak served on a Tuesday night is excellent.

I booked for 6:45pm and when we got there we were told that they were booked out and not able to seat us even though I had a reservation and confirmation email from them. It was definitely more than an hours notice booked at 5:18pm.

Had ribs tonight as it was the special. They were terrible... dry, tasteless.. covered with loads of sauce, tasted boiled.... very disappointing!!!

I ordered the special menu. It came out very quickly, but it seemed like it had been cooked earlier, so it wasn’t hot. Also, a doggy bag cost $2! I might not go back there.

A little annoying that you have to pay an extra $4 for pre frozen veggies, if you don't want a salad with your dish. Should be an option without the added cost. Otherwise all meals are of great value and cooked really well, especially on the busy nights.

This little community tavern was once the best kept secret but the word has spread. Went to dinner Saturday night and though there was not a seat free in any areas,the staff were as always smiling, helpful and constantly work so hard to being accommodating offering exceptional service. There was a wait on food but was kept updated and meal arrived in the time advised hot and beautiful. Recognition and high praise to the kitchen staff for the meals that are always worth the wait and to the entire staff for their hard work, dedication and commitment through the busiest of nights. A gem of a location for meals, service and community spirit. Always keep coming back and always enjoy.

Great prices yummy Food

Prompt service and lovely wait staff, but sadly the food has slowly become practically inedible. Used to love the chicken parmy, but now there is some weird chemical tasting cheese sauce on it.

Usually the food is amazing but for some reason - lastnight wasn't that.

The parmis are the best on the coast . On a Saturday they are the best for value taste and look outstanding . You get a choice of what parmi you want .l want to try the 5 different choices but keep picking the garlic prawn it's the best

Beautiful food at good prices

Went for our usual Friday lunch, I wanted to have the chargrill lamb cutlets with salad and chips rather than the vegetables as advertised which I have previously changed, only to be told that this would cost me an additional $6.00. I then changed my order to a medium rare eye fillet with chips and salad only to receive an overcooked steak. Not sure if it us a supply issue but the chips are not as good as previously. Will give the tavern a miss for a while. The attached photo is something licensees should be thinking about before charging for using credit cards, this photo is from a country hotel that is trying to survive. The point I am trying to make is that I would have already paid for sauteed vegetables with gravy, in the meal which I wanted swapped out for the salad and chips then I was expected to pay another $6 for the chips & salad. Why not have the option of vegetables or salad and chips on the menu with any main meal.

Have being here often But tonight while waiting for my mothers meal an mine I was gobsmacked how long I had to wait , cancelled my meal to get my 89 year old mums silverside out quicker had people that just sat down next to up also commenting on how long our meals were as they received there’s within 15 min Don’t think I will be returning to this place or giving any good feedback if asked Quite annoyed

Really nice food with very good portion sizes❤️ Bit of a wait to get to the bar, but still pretty good service. Typical Aussie booze (tap beer, host wine, bourbon coke ,etc) is cheap enough but the quality stuff is a bit over priced. And the environment is fairly good, but heavily compromised by tacky pokie machines right in the middle💩 I would come here for dinner, but I would not stay for drinks. A couch, beer and TV is better 🍻😏

Food was really nice, Bar staff were very rude and looked grumpy. Worst service I have ever received. Lunch time on a Tuesday. Management need to look at their staff attitude. Kitchen staff were swearing and could be heard from line up with children.

This review is from our last few visits which culminated in my Mum’s birthday celebration. The staff are always great, especially in substituting some food items for people with food allergies. The quality of the food is spot on with no surprises. I generally order a steak and my meat has been cooked perfectly medium rare 3 times in a row. That is no small thing. Can be a bit noisy on trivia night Thursdays but it is a Tavern after all.

Update: Haven't been here for a few years. Most likely will never go back. After 40 minutes wait discovered our food order was never sent to the kitchen. Asked for money back. Summary of apology was human error, nothing wrong with our system, we've apologised and you've got your money back. A bit of empathy would have gone a long way. $10 lunch specials with drink purchase can't be beat. Had a chicken parmigiana, large serving with quick service and very friendly staff.

Delicious food, with great service and wonderful, helpful staff. Perfect for a family dinner, group gathering, or easy night out. Plus, it's has a fantastic drive-through bottleshop on site!

They were not open despite saying that it open till 2 am, I arrived at 10 pm

1)Pork bites were very fatty and no crackling 2) The rice with the garlic prawns, the rice was very under cooked and not edible 3) The lamb shank was very chewy, I asked for mushroom sauce which I got but the shank was already covered in some horrible tasting sauce. I would not recommend dining here.

Disappointed. First time patrons for a 21st birthday. Young female staff member came to table with our last meal and with her bare hand, lifted the lid of the burger to check it had slaw (one of our diners had order it without). Everyone else had their food so it had to be the last persons waiting (mine) and even so, why would you use your hand!? I then told her I would not be eating it as she put her hands all over it. She looked at me like I was being a problem customer but she literally touched my food with her hands. Add to that she was then death staring my daughters whose bday it was as we ate cake and then whispering to her coworker. She clearly needs retraining. Edited to add: As we got up to leave, she walked over to her coworkers and actually cheered loudly and clapped that we were leaving. Appalling and disgusting behaviour. It was at that point I spoke to the Duty Manager who was lovely and apologetic. But while talking to him, she again death stared my daughter who was with me as we talked to him. She should not be in customer service, We won’t be back, and will definitely not recommend to anyone else,

Can't call after 11am are you serious the voice mail says book table online. I don't want to book a table yet I had questions first. What poor customer service! Update after their reply: Yeh phone line is open those hours but just to get a prerecorded message after 11am phones not answered. Phone customers are customers too it was 6pm should have enough staff that phone can be answered also. There is nothing on your website about what is in the children room so the question wasn't searchable hence trying to call. Went elsewhere instead where they answered phone and answered our 30 second question.
