This pub was our wonderful local but unfortunately things changed when they built the stage and became a live music venue. The volume is unbearable and we won’t be back

First time we’ve visited this pub and had a great experience. The food was fresh, hot and tasty. The fish was delicious and the chicken schnitzel was amazing. We enjoyed it so much we ordered desert and the sorbet and pudding equally delicious. Will definitely be back.

Love pub food but probably the worst meal I've ever had.Ordered Pan fried Squid salad , squid was under cooked and swimming in water and had absolutely no flavour. Porterhouse med rare with veg and mash got rare with chips and salad with a pepper gravy that was way too peppery Fish and Chips fish was mooshie and flavourless, Server tried to walk away 3 times while taking our order and obviously didn't listen to our order and mains came out before starters $119 wasted 😡

Hobsons Stores is a family and friends favourite. The meals are awesome, especially the Guinness pie. Also a favourite for a beer with mates either in the bar or outside.

Hobson’s in Sandringham is amazing!! The moment you step your foot in the door, you are greeted with smiling staff, a warm cozy fireplace in winter and some funky live music that really gets the crowd going! The vibe inside is unlike any other, it’s like vintage chic mixed with retro and car racing and it feels so homely. Every time I go to Hobsons, I never want to leave because I have so much fun! The customer service is outstanding, I always feel so welcomed by the lovely staff and the chippies with aioli are the bestttttttt in town! To die for ! Definitely a must visit, if you haven’t already😊💖🙏🏽 thank you, Hobsons.

Great historic vibe from 100 year old general store. Good food and drinks at pub prices. Definitely an 'occasion' night out. Live music Friday and Saturday nights.

Great place should charge 12 dollars more on food and pay there musicians

First time here to a gig with a good friend fronting the band Sat. Excellent acoustics for the band. Sensational atmosphere for a rowdy night of socialising and dancing. Returning next month to do it all again 😜

Great location - popular spot, and rightly so. Great people. Great atmosphere - a bit English pub-style Great range of imported and local tap beers Food at pub prices. Can get busy so might be an idea to check before going if you'll want a meal.

It had been a while since we had been here and decided to go on a Friday night with some live music but the food took over an hour. Wasn’t great quality either. Such a shame.

Don’t bother with this place . I ordered a meal and after 40 minutes it still didn’t come . I went to complain and said if it hasn’t been made I’ll leave it . The person looked up list of orders and gave me a refund . Very disappointing.

Hobsons is a great place to dine in. It has that old pub vibe where stories are shared over a beer! The food is great, Chef Ben is the best in Sandringham.

Nick and I visited, blown in out of the wilderness on the Saturday night and out of things to say, having left a flat beer forgotten somewhere else across the road unnamed and catching up on the little we had done since we had last seen each other, a swell of uninterrupted personal anecdotes and looking for the TV. Had that evening's rocky tide not taken us safely through the Hobson's front doors I fear that might have been it, for us, a Saturday lost in endless opaque darkness and Nick, at sea, rocking around on his hands under him and looking for an opportunity to slip off a shoe, to slip off and hold the big toe I knew had been bothering him and then to have me not hear or not care or not think to bring it up again but to instead hold fat on the silence between us and hope it rendered us home by 10pm. Instead there was a band on at Hobson's and we had a great time cheers

We had some great gluten free pizzas. Service was friendly, atmosphere comfortable and warm on a cool evening, food arrived in a reasonable time. They even had gluten free beer, yum! Forgot to take photos of the food 😂😂😂. So good! Definitely recommend.

Revisited to have a lamb roast with cold shandy by the fireside on a chilly winter day. Staff were warm and friendly and meal was lovely. My wife had the warm chicken salad. Followed by 2 hot chocolate. Most relaxing. We shall be back again.

Having arrived from the airport weary I just wanted a place to relax and have some comfort food and Hobsons didn't disappoint. Extensive menu, attentive service and quality food will always be a winner for the weary traveller.

Fantastic Sunday lunch with special Roast Pork, Crackling, and roast vegetables. Washed down with a few Hobson Ales and Apple Crumble. Plus a great band playing.

My kind of place. No need for pokies or TAB. Lots of live music, good food, good drinks and great hospitality.

Jess (blonde, friendly staff) makes the BEST cosmopolitan. She is fantastic and her cosmopolitan is the best finish to a day at the ⛱️ beach. Thankyou!

Awful food, parma was dry, pizza was bad. Staff is nice and the place have good beer, if you come for only drinks it is ok

Vegetarians should not consider this place with very limited vegetarian menu and below average available dishes.

Ate here for the 1st time today. Had the Tasmanian roast lamb and omg, it was amazing. Great food, service and live music as well. Keep up the great work !! Will be back very soon ;)

Went there for a open mic night. Friendly people and staff, good service and a nice range of meals served. Visited again last Wednesday, April 2022. Had a great time. Visited again July 6th. A great place for a visit and meal. Give it a try.

Food was good, our own dining room so the 12 of us could be as rowdy as we liked was a bonus.

Great Pub style meals at affordable prices. Great value. It was a nice relaxed atmosphere. Very laid back and a great fire going on this cold night. It has a little stage for musos to play but not tonight. Thank goodness it wasn't tonight because I was catching up with old friends.

Unique venue with a great history of Sandringham and MG cars. Andrew and his staff were fantastic looking after us . The beers were excellent and food fantastic and filling. Had great service and atmosphere.

Went there for a family birthday dinner...lovely setting, close to the fireplace at a cold evening is the best place in the house...why not 5 stars: main course was a bit colder, as if it was sitting for while, plates were cold...easy to improve

Nice food, friendly service. Only downside was the hot temperature inside (on a hot day) and flies coming in because the door was left open that night. Great if you like background music from the 80s/90s (John Farnham, Midnight Oil etc).

Staff were great. Reasonable prices. But most of our meals were cold.. porterhouse steak...sent it back chef stuck his finger in food and put it in microwave. Came back less presentable and average meal...
