Friendly staff and awesome room
WARNING Had our car broken into just after sunset (~8:30PM) and valuables stolen in the hotel carpark - something which has occurred multiple times at Hotel Launceston in the past year according to the police who came. We’d just arrived and headed straight to dinner after check in following a long hungry drive in a car packed with a majority our belongings to move to Melbourne. We assumed with CCTV and someone at the desk that the hotel carpark would be safe for the hour or two. The service desk could not have been more rude, dismissing the seriousness of the break in and putting the blame on us. While it’s happened multiple times recently to other guests - no warning during check in, no signs or proper safety lighting. CCTV footage was grainy and usable. No fault on the hotel itself (a clean comfortable place and good value) and certainly it’s our property we have responsibility for, but when my partner is distraught because her grandmother’s jewellery’s been stolen and we’re exhausted from packing up our life and driving for 3 hours, I would have appreciated an ounce of warmth and hospitality from the staff member.
It was a great place to stay
This placed seem to be bought over by Mecure. It has two names. Got the ground floor room facing the car park which is decent. Comfy bed and clean toilet. Walking distance to a nice park, harvest market, and shopping malls. Reception is not 24 hrs. If you arrive late, need to use the back door to enterance, not very safe for solo female travelers. No warnings watsoever until everything is paid and cant be cancelled. Hotel parking quite full at night, but there are road side parkings.
Location is great, really central, room poor as could not open curtains for natural light as it opened directly out to the car park, lots of noise throughout the day and evening sounded like heavy trolleys going past our room and staff congregated outside our room for a chat. The breakfast at the restaurant next door was extremely poor, everything was cold, scrambled eggs were runny and not cooked sausages were as pale as the white sheets, definitely not worth the money. Staff are really friendly
The room was a bit small , and the shower pressure was a bit difficult to control .The bed and pillows were nice and comfortable .The reception didn't seem occupied much , however, it was the weekend .
Great location. Spacious clean room for solo traveller. Toiletries provided except tissue box.
Modern room, comfy bed, good size bathroom and great shower. Massive value for the dollar.
Photos makes it look new but actually it was old furnishing. The bed was comfy though. The room you can hear lots of noises and vibrations coming from the plumbing and a/c systems. Was bothersome. Easy check in and out had no issues.
Great value for money. The room was clean, beds were super comfy & the mini bar was fully stocked. Staff were friendly and were able to accommodate our request. Great location would definitely stay again
The Hotel was very well located walking distance to the CBD restaurants & bars. The bed was extremely comfortable. The front desk manager was very helpful & happily organised another nights accommodation for us. Would definitely book again
Понравилось всё! приветливый персонал, подсказали место для прогулки, помогли вызвать трансфер. Номер чистый, всё свежее внутри.
Stayed here for one night, over two rooms. Were double charged on both rooms. Have contacted on four separate occasions, and no real confidence of a resolution in sight. Staff on all occasions have said that they are too busy to deal with it, on both weekends and weekdays.
Clean comfortable room. Tea and coffee making facilities in room. Good breakfast. A little disappointed as the restaurant was closed over the weekend we visited as it was Easter weekend. We used the hotel as a base for a few days, whilst we travelled. Would stay again. The outside decor is a bit drab.
Rooms were small, and compact. I found someone’s hair on pillow and surprisingly next day I found the room was clean towels were changed but that hair on pillow was on the same place.
Very comfortable rooms, recently redone. Very close to the city centre and across from the city park.
Rooms had been recently renovated but we got stuck in a room that did not have any windows: just a high light well onto a corridor. So if you are booking, request NOT to stay in G01, G02 or G03, unless you like a dungeon.
If a 3-star hotel feature you're looking for is paper thin walls through which you can hear your neighbours TV as if it's your own, then the room we had at the Hotel Launceston won't disappoint. Great value for money at the price of $2 earbuds + the cost of the room. The lack of an exhaust fan in the bathroom room means you also get a free sauna, bonus! The bed and other fittings match a 4 star hotel, so they are a more genuine bonus.
性價比中高 可惜停車場位置差
Rooms is nice and renovated. Location is situated at the edge of city park and within walking distance to food. Some of the room have bad bathroom design. So hopefully you get the good ones.
Room looked amazing and was so clean. The bed was dreamy comfortable. Loved the stylish bathroom. In Room coffee was good too.
Rooms are decent and beef cheek is great!
Pros: The receptionists were friendly and willing to help. The bathroom was spacious. A purple pen was provided in our room so that I could write my postcard, which was good. Cons: I can't believe that the overall Google star rating of this hotel is 4.3/5 which is definitely overrated! I should have read the negative reviews from xripadvisor before my stay at this hotel. I have no idea how often the housekeepers clean the rooms and change the bed sheets/linens but the carpet in our room DO need a deep clean(to vacuum)! Or at least they should vacuum the carpet more often. I could always feel some fleas/mites jumping on my feet and legs every night. I tried to ignore them but unfortunately I had flea bites! This made me feel itchy and painful! On top of that, the wall light switches were covered with dust. It's funny that the hotel restaurant (Titanium Bar and Bistro) isn't open at lunchtime. What if the hotel guests feel hungry and want to have a proper lunch? The pillows were incredibly high, which wasn't comfy. The fixed showerhead was quite inconvenient - I prefer a hand shower. Dental kits and slippers weren't provided. We had to go to a supermarket to buy them and it took us 10 minutes to get there. Our room faced the car park so we were woken up by the noise (may be a rubbish truck) very early in the morning.
Overall feeling is like staying in a motel rather than a hotel. The best part of the room is the toilet which has been renovated. The room needs to be freshened up. Sound proof was bad as we could clearly hear every single person walking in the corridor, their conversations and closing of doors. Only plus is the convenient location.
Great location, great staff and the room and view was lovely. Unfortunately check in was stressful because our booking was apparently cancelled due to their system upgrade. The restaurant is amazing too.
DOUGLAS AT THE FRONT DEST WAS SO HELPFUL.
Pros: The bed was so incredibly comfy, the highlight of the room. Location was great, walking distance to the heart of town and lovely to walk through city park and see the macaques. Cons: The hotel is very outdated. The bathroom was not as pictured, had a shower over the bath and no fan, just a dirty vent. The room was too dark, not enough lighting and because the room faced the car park no natural light if you want to maintain privacy.
FABULOUS OUTLOOK GREAT SERVICE
Great location. Plenty of parking. Helpful staff. Nice rooms with air conditioning and paid tv channels. Good house keeping. However they have infrastructure problems: the rooms are not noise proof. You can hear the normal conversations from the adjacent room. Which means they can hear yours. Felt a lack of privacy. The plumbing needs some repair - when the hot water is on, you can hear the noise of the plumbing shaking. Two sections to this hotel - one section (the good one, with lifts) is branded as Mercure Launceston and the old section (no lifts) is branded as hotel Launceston. See google reviews for Mercure Launceston. Pretty clever right?
Lovely rooms. Had a king room overlooking City Park. A little noisy as its on one of Launceston's main streets. Their restaurant downstairs serves good food at reasonable prices.
The only great thing about this place was that the staff were very nice. The room that we had stayed at definitely needs a refurbishment eventhough it states that this was done in 2015. We were very disappointed with the accommodation as we had been in a campervan and this should have been a wonderful treat for the night. The bathroom was dirty, the walls were very chipped and it had looked nothing like the image of the room we booked. We have stayed in better hostels for a much cheaper price.
Good beers cheers
Well priced rooms, great location, friendly staff, heaps of parking and a nice buffet breakfast. Would stay again.
I love all the staff at this hotel from the front desk, to the bar, the restaurant & the cleaner's. They are all very professional, friendly, extremely kind, lovely place to stay & so helpful everytime I stay there. I would strongly recommend to everyone. Close to town short walk.
2 night's Superior King Room. Modern clean. Great location. Bed comfortable great nights sleep. Shower hot, huge TV with Netflix. AC. Free on site parking. Steep driveway in need of hand rail for those on foot. An enjoyable stay. Totally recommended.
Our room is cosy but beautifully put together. Really nice place to stay.
Great value for money. Located just up the road from the city centre, through the beautiful park, if you wish.
Good place to stay, very handy to everything.
Just what you want from a room clean comfy big bed great shower amenities for a cup of cha off street parking
Great place to stay, bed was comfy and suited our travelling needs
Clean rooms and you get exactly what you pay for. Love the location as its just in front of the city park. It has its own parking and the room was cosy and comfortable. Would definitely stay there next time I go.
Nice clean place to stay while in Launceston. Room was a bit small but other than that we enjoyed our stay here
Friendly service, small but quite nice and clean rooms, well priced. I would visit again if in Launceston.
It's ok. Not bad. Good price.
Had a good little room at a good price. Very close to everything you need.
Friendly smiling staff and comfortable and clean rooms
🥲
Great service with smiles, nice and clean. The room looked out onto a car park but this wasn't an issue as we just wanted a nice clean place to stay. The hotel cafe served a lovely breakfast at a discount rate with a coupon given to us on arrival. I would stay there again.
