The service was absolutely horrendous! Me and some work mates innocently went to ask some additional questions on how to work the karaoke machine after we first got there as we were a bit confused and got such a rude response from the worker. He was more occupied enjoying a cigarette on the balcony and slacking off than wanting to offer a good experience it seems. The machines are confusing but the sound and room setup are ok. The toilet is HIDEOUS - urine all over the floor, broken seat and a shower caddy? Let’s hope they improve the service in future!

Worst experience ever! Would give -1 star if possible. Booked and paid for a 2 hours session, the staff barged in after 1hr 5 mins and said “times up” and kicked us out. Staff were extremely rude and disrespectful and the toilets were absolutely disgusting. There was piss all over the toilet seat and walls that looked like it had been there for 3 years. There was also a shower caddy in there?? Not sure if someone is living in this karaoke bar. Will never be coming back to this filthy place!

Nothing worked as it should in the room. Search functions on the karaoke machine were way too complicated. We still had fun with it. Forget about drinks, they don't even have fridges upstairs to keep drinks cold!

bad customer service…i would prefer not to even give a star. Don’t bother to email them cos they don’t check it (they told me this themselves after several attempts to call and even i have asked the staff to tell the manager to check their email). They also have credit card fee which they don’t tell u and when questioned couldn’t even tell me what is the surcharge %. a word to management/owner —— plz visit ACCC to check what is LEGAL! Most customers don’t mind paying but not when they are not advised and overcharged. everything else room/quality of karaoke machine/mic POOR…. if it wasn’t a surprise for my staff i wouldn’t have been there.

Could not read songs as they were not in English and there were only under 100 English songs. No refund but given free vodka" drinks which tasted like soda water. Would not recommend"

If you are not chinese, you can't pick any songs what you want it, and we couldn't find anything because they allow reading only chinese. This karaoke is the worst i ever tried and also my friend from colombia and he never find song he want to sing. Wven if we paid over 60$ for an hour and we were waited for 10mins at the first time of start and we asked to staff how to use, but he never come to our room for 10min but it was included already so totally we could spend less than 50mins Lol the worst don't visit here.

Terrible. No English songs. Terrible speakers. Awful system. Mics don't work. Too expensive for what it is. Avoid at all costs. I don't know where the k is coming from bc it's not Korean, or where the karaoke is coming from as it's not japanese. It's a Chinese system not friendly to english speakers.

Worst experience, we had a horrible time at this place. We were jumped by a group of girls who were obviously looking for a fight. We were refused a refund, even though we only got 20 minutes of our hour booking due to this incident. I would never go back to this place.

WORST KARAOKE BAR EVER!! For starters the microphones don’t even work, staff are rude, song choices are bare and rooms are so small and seedy! Listen to the other reviews! We went as a group of girls and guys for a nineteenth birthday, we where attacked by Sudanese in the bathroom because we asked how long until they where done as they took a long time, the Sudanese girls the chased us to our booth and tried attacking us in the room. This was only 20 minutes into our one hour booking. We couldn’t continue and had to hold down the door to protect ourselves, the staff did nothing for ages until security came and helped us. We were yelling for help as we didn’t understand why this was happening or what was going on. Shame on the staff for letting in this group who were looking for a fight and came in too wasted acting like savages. We had to wait for police to escort the Sudanese out and they eventually did and when we tried complaining to staff about how we didn’t get to even finish our time and where scared, we where ignored and told “no refunds” Worst bar I’ve ever been too, workers just ate kfc behind the counter and had pieces of chicken and mayo all over his face. Disgusting

Paid for 2 hours and only got 1 and 20 min. Halfway through a song the staff member barged in and rudely said we had to stop and get out as our room was already booked, didnt even get to finish our drinks. Booths were tiny and cramped and no where near sound proof, could easily hear all other rooms, and phone calls going on in the hallway. microphones didn't work. The karaoke system was difficult to use. Couldn't find Bon Jovi or it wasn't there.

Should have been a comedy club because ...what a joke!! The rooms were not sound proof you could clearly hear what others were singing. Atmosphere was seedy and the actual song machine was glitchy at best. We had booked for 2 hours and were essentially kicked out after 90 min (probably because others could hear our song choices) lol. The staff member came in said time was up and took our drinks off the table immediately and said the room had another booking, which would be fine if it was after our 2hr session.... The star system is rigged as if I could give it 0 stars I would. Such a poor experience.

Was falsely accused of switching off the power board to all karaoke rooms. Security guards were embarrassing how they acted and refused to check cameras to see that it wasn’t us. Ended up paying the $59 for only the 10 minutes before getting kicked out with no refund offered. Those 10 minutes were good to be fair and would go back if not for the incident and security.

Rude and blunt service barged in mid song to tell us time was almost over.Nothing was ready when we arrive and had to squeeze through a barricade to get in. Couldn't even order drinks.

Website said $130 worth of drinks - only got water and a bottle of gyn - Price for room was $300 and $330 with bottle of champagne- no bottle of champagne and still charged $330. Room was crowded for 10- Search system for music was difficult to use. Sound quality was bad with some songs not in time for the words. And we could hear all goings on from next door which interfered . Hugely disappointed! Will never go back!

The staff were helpful and that's the only redeeming quality of this establishment. The microphones didn't work, the toilets were of poor quality, the karaoke setup itself was unintuitive and irritating to use, the booths were not soundproof, other booths were clearly audible. I would not recommend this place.

After going to the voice karaoke last year, we went to book again to find it had merged with k illusion, the machine worked well but we were shoved in a room that couldn't even sit our whole group, with poor ventilation. Up stairs bar was very limited and staff were unsure about simple drinks. The worst part for us were the toilets. Broken and very dirty

Machines and microphones didn’t work

We were a large group, the room wasn't too accommodating for us. We had booked, but our room was givin away as we were 10 minutes late(very annoying). So we were left with what was available after waiting 20 mins. The sound was average, two microphones were available. But 1 kept dropping out. They tried to fix it but weren't very successful. A good but not great experience.

the room was way to small for 14 people I booked for. Was given 10 glasses.when I asked for another 6 I was questioned. $50 FOR 6 mother energy drinks. Didn't have enough jugs to support what we wanted to drink. The machines are terrible to navigate.

Good private rooms but the drinks were expensive and didn’t taste good, ordered the lychee cocktail jug and seemed like we just got a jug of soda water with a dash of lychee juice. Other people in my group also got cocktail jugs and thought they didn’t have much flavour and weren’t very strong considering their price ($50 for a jug)

Terrible service, room service never existed even though they had a button for room service, they just told us to come over to the counter to order drinks, and when we asked them why there is no customer service, they said just to tell their manager. This literally wastes our time going up to the bar and ordering at the counter, rather than spending time in the karaoke room we paid for...

Had 5 of us there singing and having fun amazing time loud and proud got to have a go

I'm not sure how this building hasn't been condemned? Drinks were a reasonable price. Staff were friendly enough. The selection of songs were ok. Searching songs & artists was a bit complicated.

The karaoke booths are fine, no complaint there. Our birthday event was spoiled somewhat when the prototypically power hungry bouncer refused entry to my sister in law for not having ID on her. Shes 32 and pregnant with her second child, in a group of all 30+ patrons. The law specifies they only have to ID someone who appears under 25. Whole thing feels a lot more like discrimination against a pregnant woman than any sort of responsible service of alcohol problem. Its a shame when a good business lets someone like this be their first impression.

Multiple issues with Microphones. It was OK.

The Australian bald guy at the front counter should not be working in any sort of customer service industries AT ALL as he does not know how to be polite or even simply respectful to women. He proceeded to tell one of my friends that she is not pretty enough to receive any drink specials after her simply asking if there were any. Which when in town is a normal question to ask especially if you have never been to the place before. He then continued to say that he has said that to multiple women as he thinks it is a joke, which is absolutely disgusting, even one of the younger guys working with him expressed that he does not like the way that he acts to the customers and even to the other workers by belittling them as if they don’t know what they are doing. Something needs to be done because he does not deserve a job here or any where else that requires interaction with people especially women. Absolutely disgusting behaviour from this ‘man’.

The only white bald guy you have working at your bar / entry ruins your entire venue. My friends and I arrived last night and checked in for our booking. He was very passive aggressive. We asked if there was any drink specials as we weren’t sure how it worked, he then looked at one of my friends and said “you aren’t pretty enough for that”. It was absolutely putrid to speak to customers like that. Especially when he isn’t anything flash to look at. Once we pulled him up on it he said “I’m sorry” but it should NEVER had been something that came out of his mouth to ANYONE. Unfortunately your disgusting regard for customers is a massive downfall.

Pretty average sound systems for a karaoke place. Had to yell to be heard over the music when in one of the upstairs rooms. Bar and club downstairs were nicer and bar staff were friendly.

Pleasant staff. However there was a limited selection of English songs and you were not able to search a song that you wanted just the initial of the artist which come up with non English songs. We ordered vodka/raspberry and vodka/cranberry and the vodka smelt and tasted like onion, one of the staff members then informed us that it was cheap vodka and you needed to pay extra for the nice one. The toilets were disgusting and broken. Would not come here again.

Front counter was appealing and bar staff were quick to serve. But that’s where the quality ended. The decor in our room was rubbish and so were the song voices and sound. Then I went to the toilet, this was something from a third world country… absolutely disgraceful. No toilet paper in the cubicle, no toilet seat, the toilet bowl was covered in urine and vomit. To top it off, the cubicle had no door. I wish google had more options… because this place deserves zero stars.

We had a great night here. Room was great. The machine took a little time to learn to navigate but that was mostly because we didn't watch the tutorial at the start so that's our fault. Once we worked it out song choice was very good with a range of styles. Staff were lovely too.

Such a vibe! Nice decor, the rooms were cozy, and the whole place felt really alive. The atmosphere of the venue and the rooms makes such a difference for karaoke- rush karaoke is a good example of the opposite scale. The female bar staff with the red hair was so sweet and was super helpful with helping us out if we needed it. Only downsides were the drinks and the karaoke machines. The karaoke machines are super difficult to use- the search function isnt straightforward and you have to search for the intials of the artist or song instead of the full name. Error messages are in a foreign language, even with the machine settings set to English, but bar staff are super happy to help show how to navigate the system. As soon as you get the hang of the systems, you forget about its clunkiness and work with it. The person mixing the drinks was shocking though, and mixed some borderline undrinkable stuff. Mixed the wrong drink a couple of times for my friend, and when told, he would just add whatever mixer was 'missing' instead of remaking it, which would lead to the drinks tasting super funky. The drinks did improve towards the end of our session, so not sure if there was a bartender swap?

Had an amazing first karaoke experience with a group of my friends! Rented the 6-person room for a couple of hours, had a great time. Really nice drinks, cool decor, awesome vibe. Staff were friendly and laid back, made the atmosphere really welcoming and nice! Karaoke machine program was a little dated and difficult to use, but staff were really helpful showing how to use it.

Excellent fun, fantastic service. Amazing for a good night with friends, with drinks, with singing, and perfectly located if you want to extend the night.

It was really nice and we had an amazing day with my friends. Heaps of songs to choose and the room were big enough to accommodate parties.

I really love karaoke from spending a lot of time in Japan over the years and I have been attending K illusion for many years (even when it was called K box) and I think it must have changed hands during the covid shutdown because the staff have all changed(not for the better), the karaoke system has changed and is incredibly counter intuitive and everything has just kind of gone downhill. Kinda sad.

Really cool fact, the name K-illusion is a clever refference to this place having the 'illusion' of a decent time and even mildly respectful staff. Really clever marketing strategy. The meaning of K is unknown. Follow for more niche Adelaide lore.

I have literally never encountered ruder or more unreasonable staff. Booked a room for $90 and the security guard didn’t let one of our friends in because he didn’t “like their attitude.” This security guard had a go at them for smoking and then continued picking on them over nothing. Our friend apologised twice for literally nothing. Watched the whole thing happen, there was no aggression, no antisocial behaviour. Just some bouncer having a bad night and deciding to take it out on a bunch of kids celebrating a 19th birthday. Staff inside were unhelpful and unreasonably rude. We were offered no compassion for our situation, the fact we were celebrating a birthday party and couldn’t leave our friend outside alone. We had this woman lie about reviewing the security footage and repeatedly refuse to tell us why our friend was denied service. All we wanted was a refund for a room we never even used. This place is a effing scam. Business built on robbing people. Run by the most miserable group of individuals I’ve ever met. Don’t waste your time.

Really disappointed with K Illusion, we booked a karaoke room but our friend was denied entry for reasons they wouldn’t explain. They refused to give refund, then only offering half the refund. The bouncer no.27 was cussing at my group of friends after we were trying to be civil. The staff couldn’t get their story straight and need to do better. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all.

HORRENDOUS experience with venue, friend denied entry because security guard 27 had a bad day. Venue manager was being completely vague about reasons as to why. Go to rush karaoke instead.

Ok service and reasonable prices, $59/hr for 4 people. Karaoke system is only designed for ‘K-Pop’ fans, very limited selection of English songs. No way to search songs. Just have to scroll through by artist or song title. Not even in an alphabetical order. Really poor system. To select English it’s ‘other’ lol. Most instructions were in Korean. Had a fun night still.

My mate booked a room and entered first. Was told I would be allowed in. Rocked up 5 minutes later and was not allowed in due to lockout, I was there just before lockout time you peasants.

Very rude bartender and arrogant. Tried to scam us on drinks which we didn’t fall for. The security guard number 27 was aggressive and very rude. A horrible experience seems like a scam for money. If there’s no dancing allowed, provide seating for everyone instead of allowing people in and once they dance, they are kicked out

Just gross! Place was smelly, sticky, dirty and equipment didn't work properly and most was in another language.

Great range of songs! We booked a 3 hr session with drinks, although we went on a busy night and there was a bit of a mix up; the staff were so accomadating & even upgraded us! Will definitely going back. The only thing I would recommend is booking ahead if it's going to be a busy night (like a Saturday on halloween night not long after covid restrictions lifted). Thanks for the amazing night guys!

Sadly a pretty average experience. The karaoke machine is not intuitive and the predominant language for the machine is not English which made it hard to find songs. The staff tried their best to help but we paid $60 and ended up singing 7 songs for one hour.

Rude service!!! Took such a high deposit for an afternoon session. Made a mistake with wrong pricing quote. Would not refund money back and forced to use that ‘credit’ for extra time or for drinks. Got called out early after session with 5 minutes left .... not happy Will not be coming back.
