It was a very nice experience having a meal at the Alma Tavern today.

The team do go above and beyond to make you feel special

Great Thursday night Steak Night.

Great food, cozy atmosphere, and excellent service! The dishes were fresh and delicious, and the staff was very friendly. Highly recommend and will definitely come back!

Amazing food, excellent customer service and great cocktails and other drinks. Hard to choose what was better but steak, pizza and special crumbed brie were exceptional! Definitely coming back!

Great atmosphere, and the staff were friendly. Came a few months ago, and the meals were bland. Have returned recently, and the flavours were back and exciting! So kudos to the team! Anyway... The quiz night is super relaxed and fun on a Tuesday night, and a good range at the bar!

We had the amazingly delicious pork and steak tonight that we have to leave our very first google review for these guys. Great atmosphere and service. Thank you alma

Stopped in here for a quick meal & ended up waiting 40 mins for our meals but they were delicious. Had DJ playing music & atmosphere was great. Definitely return for a meal again

Food here was great. Service was excellent, stay brilliant. Would definitely recommend!

Over priced food

The best value and flavorful seniors meal anywhere.

Great venue with a pooch, meals were good with plenty to pick from and gf

😀

This place has well and truly gone downhill. Always empty, and food was pretty average for the prices they charge. I had a fried chicken burger that came out with white crumbs (not golden) I don’t even know what I was eating

Good meals. A bit noisy if you wanted to converse with out shouting. Overall pretty 👍👍

We had a meal with friends yesterday, the food was pretty average, the side salads consisted of nothing but a pile of lettuce, the pepper sauce was bland and flavourless, and my pizza was lacking in toppings and was burnt, when waitress was questioned she really didn’t care. The dining room was empty yet it took ages for our meals to come out and some at our table still had to wait. Given the cost of dining out these days, it was very average at best, I would give the Alma a wide berth, better places to eat. Check the recent reviews with low scores before you book, last 6 months paints a picture of what the food is like, pity we didn’t check.

Organising an 80th Birthday dinner in Christmas party season can be stressful, but luckily The Alma came to the rescue. Thank you to the amazing event organiser and the lovely Lucy and staff for making the night memorable. We’ll be back.

In the grand scheme of pub dinners, the Alma can resolve your schnitty cravings. The panko crumb makes it one of the crispiest giant chicky nuggets you can get in Adelaide. We also ordered the fish and chips. A good quality fish too. Keep in mind, what lacks in portion is made up in quality. Mushroom arancini was the Alma’s downfall of my food trance though but I wouldn’t hold it against them. Would still come back for a schnitzel (and fyi it’s not “snitzel”)

What a wonderful venue, a beautifully renovated establishment with a great beer garden on a barmy summers night Services was impeccab.. well we had to ask for a refund after we waited for an hour for a meal that was served to another table but the waitress didn't know.... Those people sure did enjoy the complementary salt and pepper squid. Or the fact if you pay for a kids meal with the drink and dessert option but you don't select the desert when you order your expect to pay for the dessert again, Sure did enjoy the olive oil salad dressing drizzled all over the schnitzel too Well worth the 35min drive here

Booked & pre ordered our meals. Waiting 1 1/2 hours & still no sign of our food. Tables who arrived after us have been served. No explanation from staff.

The bartender that got me that limoncello the other night was an absolute vibe in her element, and I was living for it

Wood fired garlic bread was good and salad was very delicious. Need to add more vegetarian options.

Went here for a function, the accessibility of the function room is poor. There’s only stairs. I was on crutches and struggled to get up the stairs. The food offered was quite greasy, a lot of it was deep-fried. The balcony is on quite a bit of a lien, but it has quite a nice view The service was lovely

First of all could not find any staff for 20 mins No one to show us where our table was, than 20 mins standing at the counter before a staff member came. Not busy at all. The pizzas were shocking I wish I had taken a picture to show you my sons. The yiros bowl was inedible. Won’t be back for a meal. Spent $300 for a family birthday and very disappointed.

Went tonight 12/11/24 Go regularly for quiz with family.Quiz is great (when audio ect works) Second time past 3 weeks have ordered pasta. First Gnocchi and tonight Pappardelle with meatballs. Both times little to no flavor very plain sauce flavorless . And both looked like a entree size .For the price it was very much not value for money. Definitely would not recommend pasta dishes.if you are going foe dinner

Food is good, but you have removed SthAve from the drinks list. This is a popular drink ????

Food for our table came out at different times and then some were COLD! One meal had to go back and we were told we wouldn’t be charged for it but we paid the bill and it wasn’t until we got home that we saw we had been charged for it! Very disappointing to say the least!

Wonderful service today 31/10 lunchtime by the two female staff. Food was quick and tasty too. Great pub

Always amazing service and food

The pub looks the goods & great beer garden, however the meal service was poor. Our meals were delivered sporadically & one meal came out well after all the rest of us had finished. The staff clearing the table now & then didn't notice nor did they ask if everything was ok until the end. It's funny how a good looking establishment can be let down by the food service. I don't suppose you can be good at everything....or can you?

Absolutely love the new decor, however the food and drinks won't see us coming back anytime soon. The drink selection has changed, no more CC & Dry on tap. Bird in Hand sparkling is gone and food was average. My steak was chewy, not seasoned and barely edible, cooked medium when asked for rare. Crab and prawn pasta has no sauce so quite bland also. Can see why it was deserted even on a nice warm balmy evening

Terrible service and food. Understaffed and stressed. Steak chewy and inedible. Pasta was cold. Food came out at all different times and missed some started. Received email for feedback and then no reply. Plenty of other options in the area. Would avoid the Alma.

Food needs upgrading, and the place is a fantastic vibe

Food was good

You can't be serious with what you've dished up AFL grand final day. Firstly the TV in the beer garden is garbage and blurry. But the food was bad on another level. My table all ordered food at the same time but meals came out at 1 hour intervals. My mushroom pizza came out cold so obviously had been sitting somewhere for a while. Also all the topping was on the front half of the pizza so half of it was just a pizza base. Arancini balls tasted raw(only recieved 2 when menu said 4... they were tasteless). My friends ordered 2 of the special platters which they only received 1. Either way it was embarrassing you served it up - 2 coles party pies, half hot dogs, and 3 tiny chicken wings. Bar service was way too slow, ran out of jugs when there were clearly empty jugs on a lot of tables. Long way off your glory days of being a good pub. Shame.

Sat lunch Service was crap for a hotel that was quiet at the time. Waiters had no idea and drop chips behind our chairs and took them 1/2hr to come and pick them up. Drinks too 1/2hr to come out and many of our guests were disappointed with the flavour of some of the lunch menu items.

Almost no point ordering the goats cheese and mushroom pizza as it comes with mozzarella and no goats cheese. Save your money.

We as a family have visited the Alma many times, the food was still great, the service not so great.when we finished our mains and wanted dessert,we waited to order and waited,in the end I had to go and order then we waited until a waitress approached us stating,we needed to move to another area because the table was booked for another group.I explained we were waiting for dessert,I stated if the service was better we would be finished waitress decided arguing with me was the appropriate response another 10 mins dessert arrived,no offer of tea or coffee.how things have changed

We were really surprised at the beautiful inside decor as it seemed smaller outside but it’s very large Inside with different rooms for functions etc. The meal was pub food upmarket. They were short staffed which meant that the salad and garlic bread didn’t arrive with our main course but thank goodness for Sofia. She was onto it and realized we were eating our mains without our first ordered food. She was simply amazing seem to be running the restaurant area so well alone. Well done Sofia thank you.

We really enjoyed our meals here and the quality is great however the portion sizes can be small on some meals.

The atmosphere was stunning, and every single staff member greeted you with a radiant smile. The place was impeccably organized and spotless. It was an incredible experience

Got a mojito which they forgot until I reminded them 40 minutes later, tasted bland and horrible. My friends coffee was also forgotten. Then had a steak, asked for medium rare and it was blue. Chips were underdone. I’d expect better for $36. Very disappointing

Last night we booked a table in the restaurant and it was a great meal. The area was table service which meant we didn’t have to line up. The area is nicely styled and the booth seats looked like a great spot for a date night. We had a table by the fire which was a good spot on a cold night. The food tasted great and was a decent serving size. I took half the curry home as I was too full from eating the garlic bread. Definitely recommend and would come back again. The desserts sounded so good I want to try them.

My brother from another mother and I had an enjoyable long lunch at The Alma recently, and we both had the 300-gram Cape Grim Scotch Fillet and it was incredible.

The female staff in the restaurant not friendly at all. The male staff member was nice. Service...well there was none. Not a good experience. We came at a quiet time as well.

Terrible service

The food is always good at the Alma.

Terrible food that just tasted like it was frozen food that was microwaved. Average service and atmosphere. Wat over priced for what it is.

Better than average pub grub with a LOT of vegan options!

Always have fun at the alma 👍

Surprisingly really good, being a suburban pub I expected the usual overworked grumpy staff, average food, the 'standard'... But food was great, staff were sensational, really friendly and super efficient. I haven’t had staff this good in a pub for such a long time. I'll go out of my way to go back. For a quick stop in meal I was overly impressed.

Lunch at the Alma today. Messed up the booking. Meals sub standard. Incompetent staff with several mistakes made. Then overcharged us. Definitely won't be going back and would not recommend.

Food 4 star 🌟 not consistent with serving service was not a hit, and I was not sure if shortage or communication 🤔 I found it difficult to have drinks brought directly to me, if at all. I made orders and 25 min wait ✋️.... left me disappointed to have to approach a third time again. Only to be told was served??? Or I'm busy, I'll come to you.. a pattern already unsatisfactory. The atmosphere was great. However, it was the friends who were there that made it so. As far as a revisit.... there needs to be drinks wait staff and dining staff.. Or supervision on both to run more smoothly. A let down sorry to say.

Good food. Great pub.

Went out with a group of seniors, very nice food at a good price.

We used to love the Alma but since the new owners took over it has gone downhill. Menu has changed and the gluten free schnitzel which used to be amazing is awful. All the amazing old staff are gone and the new staff seem to be lacking direction by management. The whole family was very disappointed with their meals and sadly we won't return.

After a stressful evening of trying to find somewhere for the kids to eat, we ended up going to the outer suburbs. When we walked into the doors, we were greated by the most happy, upbeat and enthusiastic staff member. We were seated in a booth, which was clean to perfection with cutlery, water and some glasses. We ordered our food and it came in less then 10 minutes! Service was amazing, really nice and sweet staff. Food is amazing aswell. Totally recommend this place for family's, couples and anyone within the area.

A pretty decent pub feed. The food was pretty good, nothing notable but good. However, the service was amazing! Was in a group of five and two of the meals were taking a little longer (only 3 minutes, so not much at all) and they offered us some drinks on the house. Incredibly accomodating!

Always a fabulous meal with excellent staff, a nice variety and a lovely atmosphere.

Good pub food but not enough service on hand

Nice and tidy place great atmosphere and the food was excellent

Had the Bottomless Brunch experience at the Alma and it was such a great morning. The food is very fresh and the staff were very friendly and attentive. We had the Roasted Field Mushrooms and Snashed Avocado. The other thing I love about the Alma us they allow you to bring your dogs along into the Courtyard area. Will come back here again.

Had a fabulous morning here for Community Day. Bottomless brunch was delicious. The staff were very friendly and attentive, (and kept our mimosas topped up 😁) Dogs welcome on the deck. Such a great morning, we'll definitely be back again. Well done team!

Great venue, always come here, great food, friendly security guard always makes sure we are safe and the patrons are behaving. Manager was amazing, looked after us. Will come again :)

Had a great time catching up with old school friends 1955/1958 Great venue.

Bistro good venue, good staff, but food disappointing. Don't order seniors menu. Not much food and quality not good. Not all seniors don't eat much. Supposed to be roast, but only one slice of carrot and it was practically raw not roasted. One roast half small potato, small piece of pumpkin, crunchy beans and a round ball of so called Yorkshire pudding, obviously packet mix! Gravy was nice. Lamb fatty and only one slice! Really?

Great food and superb service provided by the delightful Ethan. His professionalism and natural style was particularly commendable.

Waiting for a drink was confusing. Maybe staff weren't the best pair? Multitasking wasn't their strength. Was a quiet arvo though.

We came here after the Gather around at Norwood Oval (Kangaroos v Brisbane). While they obviously knew that the pub would be busy, the line to order food was 30 minutes long and actually took longer to order than what it did to get the food out from the kitchen. Why not do QR code bookings from the table if you can’t be bothered putting on more staff? It seems like this place is penny pinching 🤏 Also the kitchen closed early even though they were busy from the football… Food was pretty decent though.

I had a beef schnitzel, hadn't had one since I was a kid and it was awesome. Thanks guys👍
