Studio apartment, great location, comfortable, close to a range of cafes and restaurants.
We were there for a short stay in Hobart. Clean facilities, friendly and helpful staff. Very close to Woolies, Coles and Maccas. Also lots of eating choices nearby.
Great model, quiet and smack in the middle of stuff... Cherry friendly staff
Stayed here for a couple of nights. Nice sized room with large comfortable bed. Kitchenette area with microwave and utensils. Friendly welcoming and helpful staff. Convenient for city centre. Shops and Coles supermarkets on the doorstep. Car parking. Recommended
Very convenient location and with supermarket and a lot restaurant near around. A big size room and will come back again.
trash wifi
Decent bang for buck, clean and roomy rooms
Near to Coles and many varieties of eateries nearby. Has a covered carpark which comes free with the room. Unfortunately it was raining on the day we checked in and pail were place outside the rooms due to leaky roofs. Otherwise the room is clean and comfortable and it comes with a bath tub. Short drive to Salamanca Market.
Thanks Liz and staff so helpful and friendly accommodation stayed here so long term perfect in every way thank you Liz
Really convenient and good value
Mayfair has one of the best vegan menu in Hobart. Great food, amazing place to hang out, friendly staff, highly recommend them.
Couldnt fault this place. Perfect spot. Close to shops and eateries. Walking distance into town. Fantastic help at the desk whenever we asked for help.
Gareth and the lady in the office took great care of me treated me like a normal person even though I am in a wheelchair . I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to come to Hobart. Bless you Gareth Much love from Steven and me tarra
I'd intended to book a room with a bath but had not done so correctly. Liz was lovely and was able to allocate me to another room. She did not have to do so and I was very grateful for the extra effort.
A decent place to stay overnight
房間很大
免費停車位 有洗衣房 但有時間限制 比較不方便近超市 餐廳 房間很大 雖感覺舊但很乾淨房內有微波爐和簡易餐具 方便加熱食材
An absolute Liminal Space fever dream of a place. Given the abundance of strange and/or annoying features of staying here it probably deserves 2-3 stars. But I challenge the person reading this to dare to stay at the Mayfair Plaza Hotel and see what emotional response it elicits. It just might remind you that you’re alive. Also lots of good Asian food around and a cool candle shop downstairs.
We found reception in a poorly lit underground carpark. The room had cold lino right thru, not even a rug by the sofa. Cold cotton sheets and a synthetic blanket (we found more) but how about an electric blanket for $184 a night- it was July! Never again
Location is poor, didn't feel safe leaving the car out next to the bottlo with a group standing there drinking late. Bed was two beds put together, and the TV is so outdated only had normal tele. No such thing as complimentary water either.
Facilities great but I can’t get over the rudest man I’ve ever met on a front desk and I’ve worked in hotels all around the world. Yuck he was exceptionally rude to me I actually left and met my partner and cried all evening. I have never done that. How could someone you meet briefly have such a horrible affect…
Lovely place to stay. Will definitely be staying here again
We booked super last minute and we’re pretty pleased with what we got. Nice rooms with everything you need, comfy beds and little kitchenette with stove top. Location is a little quirky, right next to a double story parking building for a bottle shop.
We had a studio room. Was comfortable. Service was great. The only thing was the laundry closed at 5pmwhich didn't suit us. I used it once in the morning which which took time away from our day.
Clean new rooms. Small but comfortable. Cooktop and fridge. The location is perfect.
My go-to motel in Hobart. Very good and helpful staff. Very reasonable pricing.
My family and I stayed here. We had two queen beds in one room. Four people in a room can feel claustrophobic but these rooms were really spacious housing us comfortably. Clean linen and bathrooms, great beds, free wifi and lovely staff. Great food close too, highly recommend the Vietnamese restaurant on site and a drink at the Mayfair ( free chicken wings Wednesday 4-5 with a pint) Excellent ginger beer available. I did not have a bad meal in Sandy Bay.
A great Motel with everything you need also very clean and in a terrific location for many places to eat
Excellent service, no fuss. Great experience all around. I prefer a room with opening windows and they were very accommodating with this (ask for a room facing outside). Outside cosmetic appearance of the Hotel is a little tacky (it's in a small local mall) but don't let that put you off. It's a great place to stay. Comfortable but basic rooms, everything you need. Very clean and functional.
Very clean and quiet rooms handy to lots of Asian eateries
This is a well maintained motel. Agree its in a shopping complex and could become slightly noisy but we found it a tiny issue. The staff were very helpful and had a true spirit of a host and this is seldom seen in a motel
The location is perfect, with plenty of resturants and a coles just down the road. The rooms were very good, with actual decent beds and T.V. Friendly staff aswell. Would reccomend.
Location was good but otherwise the rooms are located as part of a shopping mall. There are shops open nearby which gets a bit noisy at times. The room service did not even arrange the bed when asked to clean the room. No complimentary water bottles too. Overall, a very okayish place to just crash at nights.
I stayed for two comfortable nights in Room 16, (Superior King), located on the top floor of the Motel. You do hear the occasional person coming and going from their room but it was not a deal breaker. I would stay there again when I visit Hobart again.
We had a room for the disabled and it was fantastic. Why can't every other motel I've had to stay in do a room like the Mayfair does for those in wheelchairs?|The room was larger to accommodate a wheelchair and the bathroom was fitted out with a sink you could actually reach while seated, there were handholds around the shower which had a built-in seat (so important for those of us who can't stand in a shower) and bars around the toilet.| I loved the overnight stay, and it was the first time I could have a shower without feeling fearful simply because of a seat in the cubicle and an extended handheld shower head. |Not only was the room amazing, but the motel location was also brilliant with stores close by. The indoor garden was an added gift to a motel I'd definitely stay in whenever I'm in Hobart.
Cosy spacious room with lots of restaurants & Coles nearby.
Excellent location with walking distance proximity to a number of good eats, throwing distance (driving) to major areas in the CBD. Rooms were clean, decently appointed, and large enough to contain our family of 4 (with 2 teens). Only let down was the spotty WiFi during our stay.
Clean comfortable hotel in Sandy Bay. Very close to food and shops. Room was modern and well equipped. Bathroom was very nice. Good wifi. Short walking distance to the CBD and UTas campus.
A toilet wedged into a triangular corner which you have absolutely no chance of sitting square on... Other then that it's ok
We had a two night stay here and thoroughly enjoy it, we where able to park our motorbikes securely the room was clean and the location was perfect for us, highly recommend.
飲食店等と一体ななったモーテルで隣にスーパーマーケットもあって便利。 夜間は殆どの入口にロックがかかるので一階の事務所だけ出入りできるので注意。
Great apartment with everything one needs. Many eateries within walking distance and Coles supermarket across the road. Staff were very friendly and so helpful. Would certainly recommend and stay here again if we return to Hobart. Free parking was also provided. Many thanks Mayfair staff Liz and Michael.
This is a very comfortable motel in a great location. It’s conveniently located a short walk from Constitution Dock, Battery Point, Salamanca Market etc. and has the Red Bus running past on the main road. There shopping resources adjacent ( coles and pharmacies etc) as well as a number of restaurants and cafes. The accommodation itself has all you need with cooking resources, a good bed and shower, very clean and is surprisingly quiet. Staff were all very friendly and helpful, parking is good, ( we were able to get in with a 2.2m H 4WD), and there is a good guest laundry. We will indeed be back here next time we come to Hobart.
The motel based in Sandy Bay is a short drive (15-20 mins walk) from the centre of Hobart. We stayed in a family room opposite Coles supermarket. (Woolworths is also just a few minutes walk away). The motel seems like a converted shopping centre with many huge windows facing into the central area. ||The room was well set-up with a good-sized bathroom with nice lighting, a fridge, toaster, microwave and kettle, plus crockery, cutlery and washing up supplies. The spacious room had two queen-sized beds, a table and 4 chairs, an armchair and a large tv which you could login to your own Netflix, Prime etc. Unfortunately the wifi was virtually nonexistent in our room. There were several take-away restaurants close by too.
Despite arriving early, the receptionist was very welcoming and allowed me direct access to my room. She also provided me with considerable relevant information regarding after-hours access, parking, use of the laundry and a map of the local area and surrounding area. Extremely friendly and helpful, which made the entire check-in experience the best received in some considerable time. A+. Next came the room which was an absolute delight. Large and roomy, it contained a wonderful large and comfortable bed, a superb easy chair, a table at which to work (which is always a plus for me) and chairs as well as discreet supplies to enable one to enjoy complimentary beverages. It even had a radio clock that actually works. A real rarity.|The bathroom was of a good size and well provisioned and has an excellent shower. |Delightfully located within an attractive plaza, and very well located for access into the CBD and many of the tourist sites, including Battery Point, Salamnca Place and Mount Wellington. It also had excellent parking arrangements. Neighborhood absolutely abounds with eating establishments.|Room was serviced each day.|Excellent Wi-Fi service.|All staff met here during the four-day stay were extremely friendly and helpful when any need arose. In all the considerable travelling I have done throughout Australia, this has to be one of the greatest experiences ever. 10/10.|
The location was good! The supermarkets and some shops were located very conveniently nearby which allows for any late night walks wanted. The rooms were clean and spacious, with plenty of space for luggages and packing of any items, which I would reckon be a plus point for anyone flying off soon, given the proximity of HBA airport (17 mins away). The showers were clean and the toilet and room heater kept us very warm and toasty. Had my reservations about this place but was happily surprised at how my travellers and I enjoyed our stay. Do arrive before 6pm before the reception closes!
I arrived earlier than check in on the off chance that I could park my car, not realising how hard it is to park in Hobart, the lady on reception was very accommodating !||Its a slightly odd setup, the rooms are off a courtyard/small shopping centre, with a cover over the top. However, my room was big and clean and tidy, and quiet even thought I was overlooking the car park. Having a free car park was a massive bonus, and its just a 15 minute walk to get round into town. There is a lot of shops and food places on the door step too.||Highly recommended.
We booked weeks in advance and 2 days before heading to Hobart we had transport issues. I had to ring the motel to see if we could possibly change dates. The manager was very accommodating and lovely on the phone. We stayed Friday/Saturday and had no issues. Room was large and clean and the location was excellent for sightseeing and handy with grocery stores and bottle shops nearby.
Hands down the best spicy chicken tenders!
My parents thoroughly enjoyed a clean and comfortable stay here, in two superior studio rooms. The location is very convenient, near to Coles and Woolworth, and various eateries, stores and restaurants. Additionally, the staff (especially Liz and Gareth) are simply wonderful and happy to go the extra mile. My dad left his handphone at the hotel, and the team was very helpful in providing suggestions, responsive to queries, and arranging for it to be posted so we managed to retrieve the phone quickly. We cannot thank the lovely team enough!
We have spent two nights here in studio self contained apartment. Very clean, modern walk in shower and very comfortable bed. The location is also fantastic and so close to all kinds of restaurants, cafes and shopping well within walking distance. Staff very friendly and helpful and car parking very close to our apartment. Wrest Point short drive away as is Constitution Dock for great fish and chips. Would definitely recommend this lovely Motel. We will be back. Thank you.
Clean and great location. Easy checkin process even though we came after hours
Everything is good. Staffs are nice. Room is clean and location is strategic.
Incredibly clean, huge room!! (Unit 2) THE BEST location in Sandy Bay, in amongst excellent restaurants, cafes, and bakeries, Coles and Woollies less than a minute walk away. Cellarbrations (bottle shop) is part of the arcade complex in which the motel is located, as well as numerous Japanese, Vietnamese and Chinese restaurants, hair salons and cafes. A few minutes walk to Sandy Bay parks, playground and Marina, several minutes to Convention Centre. Battery Point a short walk away, less than 15minute walk to Salamanca Markets. Bathroom is spacious and large. Enormous shower is great for families with young children. Disabled amenities (extend able shower head, seat in shower, railings next to toilet). Parking within complex. Highly, highly recommend at a really great rate per night. Will definitely be back again!
Room was nice. We had the superior studio room which was clean and managed well. The shower does have the water run out from the shower floor so had to use towels to stop that. Kitchenette had all we needed, stovetop too. Perfect for nights to cook our own meals. Just a walk away from Coles & Woolies. Multiple asian themed restaurants around.
Great place in a great location. The lady at reception was lovely. The kitchenette was a bonus, and the room i was given too. I'll be back.
Convenient location. Staff are polite. It's really good to have a microwave, and you can heat it in the room when you buy takeout.
Next to Coles which we found very handy. Very good restaurant around.Walking distance to the wharf.
We stayed 7 nights in a Superior Studio Apartment room24. The room was very modern clean and warm, bed was big and comfortable, great nights sleep. Large ensuite with rain head in shower, cooktop toaster table and chairs lounge with big flat screen TV etc everything you need for a great stay. Off street Parking just outside room. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Coles next door Woolies and Banjos across the street. 20 min walk to Salamanca. Totally recommend.
Very clean rooms maids take care in there job. Very good price.Comfy beds and pillows. And personal touch of heater on when arrived.Great location, very quite, and reception lady was very nice. Thanks for making everything easy
Great motel, perfect location and amazing restaurants close by. Staff were hospitable and friendly. Easy walk to Salamanca, Wharf Area and the City
Extremely clean and spacious rooms, very friendly staff and close to Coles Supermarket, restaurants and not far from sea.
Basic but very clean and comfortable.
Wrote a review and posted a photo of a blood stain that was on our bed when we stayed. It seems to have been removed??? Uncomfortable bed that had blood stain on the blanket.
Good location, just next to the Coles, room was clean, walk distance to Salamanca market
Fantastic staff.. Gareth was exceptional so was Renata in the bottle shop.. wouldn't stay anywhere else ...when in Tasmania ..so convenient to absolutely everything.. 20 min walk to salamanca markets and hobart cbd
Great atmosphere,
Good location, but rooms are a little dated. Because of the location, outside each room at night is a big bright ornagw light. They need to put black out curtains in the rooms or kill the lights. Probably better places to stay for the cost.
Nice friendly helpful people. Nice and quiet. The cover in the middle is picturesqe.
Perfectly located, super friendly staff and beautiful apartments. Would definitely go back!!!
Lovely place to stay. Modern, very clean and well decorated in a great location. Close to shops and restaurants and a short walk to town (or more accurately a good walk to digest some food!). Gareth was super friendly and accommodating to any requests. Supermarket across the road, bottle shop downstairs, comfy beds and a fabulous shower. Highly recommended.
Had a Lovely Stay In April. Clean, friendly Owners.. And Shops around the Area and Places to Eat. RECOMMENED highly.
We stayed for 4 nights. Room service is amazing. Staff is friendly and eager to help. Would surely stay there on my next visit to Hobart.
Lovely and clean, comfortable rooms. Datef building but you're not there for architecture. (Its a converted old school mallbut done very nicely) Nice and quiet with Bric walls between rooms. Secure areas and easy access carpark. Bottle store on site and plenty of great eateries within short walk (Solo and MeWah are great) Could do with telly upgrade for Netflix/Stan or Foxtel but a decent place to stay and would love to go back.
Rooms were really big and clean. Spacious. Bed linen was a bit old and not super comfy, other then that was great value for money and nice location
