Staff are fantastic and the chef cooks some amazing food

Went to this hotel last night with two guests from the UK the service was ok the food was good serving ok we were seated in the corner near the kitchen where we could hear what was going on in the kitchen I think the head chef needs to have his mouth washed out with soap not quite as bad a Gordon Ramsay in the end I asked the waiter to tell the chef to stop swearing we also had to wait over an hour for our food a bit disappointed.

The meals and playlist were awesome, we'll be back.

Went to McLaren Vale Hotel for lunch last Sunday 16.8.25. Waitress was extremely helpful and friendly. I had the beef schnitzel which I'm usually cautious about as beef can be sinewy and tough. When I got it, I was not disappointed. Very tasty and edible. Credit to the very helpful waitress ✔️

The atmosphere the service and the food were all exceptional. The waitresses were very nice and prompt will definitely be going back.

Are you guys struggling too? I get more food from a servo for this price. Pathetic excuse of a wannabe pub.

Had to argue a little to get what we ordered through the app but got there in the end, food was great.

First time in this Hotel. Cannot fault it. We had the Sunday roast and it was amazing. The girls that served our table made a fuss as they did to the packed out tables. You were treated like you were the only ones in the room. Service and food, can’t fault. We will definitely visit again in the future. Thank you to Tania for your pleasant hospitality and service.

Was probably my favourite pub before the chef changed but now food is so expensive for what it is and service has gone bit down hill. My friend and i had a booking and we entered and no one came up to us and just looked at us all funny had to go up to someone to ask for our table then once we were seated we got ID? we hadn’t even ordered anything or really sat down yet.

Prices are outrageous for the quality you get. $32 for a parmi in which you have to add an extra $2 to get the parmi sauce? Not to mention, and then a $1 card surcharge on top of that like it wasn’t enough. Service was just below average and the atmosphere makes me feel like I’m in an episode of Sons of Anarchy. Don’t recommend.

We (3 people) ordered the special which was a 250g fillet steak with mushroom sauce. It was superb, delicious and very tender, the steak mouth watering tender and the sauce was divine, we have all put that meal near the top of all our dining experiences. Enough to want to come back with friends and see what else you do really well. I hope this dish makes it on to your regular menu.

Decent that the venue was open for a late lunch (4pm!) Though no specials and basic menu. Was very busy, service wasn't the best but food was decent.

Great dining place in the area. Perfect for after wine tours!

Great table for four Sunday lunch looking out at a massive morton bay fig tree. 38 degrees outside, lovely & cool inside. It was busy & fairly noisy when we arrived but not a problem. Service was prompt with drinks arriving from the impressive wine menu. 2 of us had the mulloway special, with fennel salad & blistered tomatoes. Very tasty & a good size. The other 2 had the calamari, fresh, light batter served with cos, radish & feta, a lovely tartare & French fries. We all finished our meals with gusto then went for a creme Brulee & a pav. We will be back.

Had a beautiful dinner with my family in the sports bar and when into the gaming room after to play with my parents and i put a drink on a drink holder on a machine and got rudely told to take it off because that’s not what it’s used for. Shortly after my mum and I were talking and I said a swear word a little louder then expected, I was then “oi”d at like a dog on the street and told to lower my tone because there were “ladies” in the room. Last time I checked I am also a lady, god forbid I have a conversation with my family and say a swear word. We are all adults in here, love. Relax.

Great food, great service, huge range of wines and spirits. Lovely big lawn space outside, lots of different zones inside.

Paid $18.50 for a can of cider and small bottle of coke won't be coming hear again

We visited as a group of 33 for our work Christmas Celebration and can't recommend this venue enough. The veranda dining experience was just beautiful, the food was great for all of us and the service was the best! we were so well looked after. Thank you to the team at McLaren Vale Hotel for making us feel so welcome and looking after us. Highly recommend - we will be back!

Absolutely stunning place. We sat with a small group on the patio and had a wonderful evening. The service was top-notch, some of the best I've had this year, the food was amazing and the prices were very reasonable as we had entrees, mains and a dessert each.

Not value for money. Cocktails great. The chips with the calamari were reheated. Presentation of food ordinary.

Sunday night dinner with friends. All meals were very good & at reasonable prices. The steak special was a standout. Friendly attentive staff!

Food was lovley and atmosphere out on the deck was great. Only issue was it took 1.5hrs for the food to come out. Service was very slow and we were there on a Monday for lunch so hardly the busiest part of the week.

So called fish curry - worst curry we ever had - no fish, tablespoon if that - no veg not even onion and a had to ask for more sauce so we could swallow the rice which was the best part. $32.00 not going again.

Just don't bother. Ordered a medium rare steak. Waitress was lovey, pity we didn't get to keep her throughout the evening. Food took 40 minutes to arrive and the steak was damn near incinerated. Showed the waiter who said 'Yeah, that's well done ' and walked off. Checked when paying it had been ordered medium rare and same waiter said 'Yeah, sorry'. And charged full price. Seats outside are uncomfortable, no atmosphere, won't be back. It also appears the pub doesn't bother checking review. Save your money and eat your shoe.

My partner and i ate an entree yesterday, it was the lamb ribs entree. We became violently ill within about 5 hours. Not a fun night.

Really nice place. Very helpful and friendly staff. Food very nice. We sat out on the deck. Very nice atmosphere. Only criticism is the bench seats are very easy to tip, sending those seated on them falling backwards.

Most definitely the WORST Sunday roast I’ve ever had! Meat was of the poorest quality, no potatoes or roast veggies, instead I was served overcooked green beans and beetroot… beetroot on a Sunday roast? I understand they have a new chef… he’s clearly missed the memo 😟

The Sunday roast was generous, tasty and better than mum could ever make! The bread and butter pudding was the best I've ever eaten, sublime, enough for two people. I would definitely come back again.

Excellent pub. Punched well above what should be expected from a pub/hotel. Fantastic staff service, great food, strong wine list.

I would not go to have a meal at this hotel again mushroom gravy was the worse I have tasted. You don't see any mushrooms weird taste. The beef schnitzel is square not nice either & cos lettuce smothered in a vinergarette that was the salad yuck.

Great food - good prices

We have dined with you for at least 8 times over the last 2 years and have thoroughly enjoyed the service and quality of food. Compliments to the staff service trainer as all the staff are on top of their roles with such a pleasant attitude. Thankyou 🙂

Selection and quality of food has fallen significantly in last 6months.

We ordered the Sunday Roast and were very disappointed, the meat was raw. We had 2 Brussels sprouts each and a mountain of uncooked green beans. The Yorkshire pudding was dried out and cold. 3 roast potatoes which were hard. The gravy was nasty. After complaining, the manager said she would remove our drinks from the bill, 1 coke and 1 beer......i don't think so. I complained again and 1 meal was deducted from our bill. The service was great We won't return.

Consistently get great food here. The service is excellent too. You can't go wrong having dinner here.
