We eat regularly at your restaurant and always have the same dishes. My issue is there seems to be no continuity with our meals just lately. Last night the Honey Chicken seemed like it was cooked in old oil, it was super sweet and had more oiley coating than actual chicken. The stir fry veg had seemingly shrunk and was full of celery. Sometimes the meal options we choose are sensational but lately a disappointment.
Sorry but everything was terrible. First off I ordered food then asked for chop sticks or a fork, the lady just pointed at a spot where they have them, self service. She could have simply ran over got us what we needed and came back. Secondly I got the chicken fried rice, the chicken was basically boiled with no seasoning, the rice was barely ever fried in a pan, and it was just that. Rice and chicken, a small amount of shallots. Nothing else. I honestly couldn’t believe it. Please don’t waste your money here. Not hard to throw in some bacon, carrot, etc Nice spot though, shame about the food and service
Aucun accueil, aucun sourire, aucun service, vous devez vous même vous levez pour prendre vos couverts et la nourriture est juste correcte. Pourtant j’ai vu au moins 6 membres du personnel en salle. Inadmissible et inacceptable !
I went to have dinner here last night and the atmosphere was nice. I found it disappointing that you couldn’t order with a person and could only use the QR code. The cocktail I ordered was lovely - lavender flavoured one. The prawn and pork crispy wontons were a mistake. The pork was fatty and I only ate one as one was completely pork fat and little prawn. The prawn dumplings were okay and I’d wished I’d been safe and had just them. The staff were very serious and didn’t have much personality and friendliness as what I think would’ve make the atmosphere better. Overall I was sad that I didn’t thoroughly enjoy my food and with the cocktail spent over $40.
Honestly probably the worst ratio between food and price ever. $50 for two dishes and I would rather eat a hard boiled boot then come back here
I've been to Mei Wei more times then I can count. I have never been disappointed in their food or service. Our favourites are Kung Pao Chicken, Sauteed Green Beans, Fried Rice, Lassa and BeefChow Fung.
Special lunch is good price 👍👍👍the food is tasty and bubble tea is great 😚 especially taro tea sooo good! Service are so friendly
👍 好吃
Great Selection of food, wait times are very good and usually easy to get a table.
We loved the food, super fast service would highly recommend.
The food was good, and the service was great! I can’t recall the waitress’s name but the red haired girl was very friendly.
Terrible service. When request no spicy food for my kid but still spicy and instead being challenged by the staff saying then I should not eat anything there!
The microwave rice had a warm bowl but cold rice. Bok choy was limp and tasted stale, the duck was ok.
Great food, quick service.
Excellent Asian food & choice. Reasonable prices for the Star Hotel / Casino complex Much better fare than Harvest next door.
Food is terrible
Pretty average all round🥲
We order wonton soup on Wednesday night 23/10/24 it was so good Then we go back for lunch next day we order wonton soup but feel something wrong. Just last 2 piceses. We find inside wonton was uncook very red inside. Manager said beause of marinate sauce Excuse me!!!! 3 of us is Chef We know you are busy but you should make sure your food is cooked well Thank you for your lie No sorry. No any responding. Hopeless
Don’t expect any form of service at this ‘restaurant’. You are required to order online, and then you need to get your own cutlery and water despite having multiple waiters and it not being very busy. Food was average at best.
Can’t recommend this place high enough I had the most amazing bar attendant lovely lady serve me tonight she was so attentive and went above and beyond such incredible hospitality and wonderful service all the staff were friendly including the super visor I will definitely be back soon
Very slow service
Had the chicken pad Thai…was honestly not great…extremely salty - inedible. Disappointing meal.
The food was good, good taste to all the dishes we ordered and nice to sit in the atrium to eat.
*WARNING FOOD POISONING AS A RESULT OF EATING AT THIS PLACE* - I would highly encourage anyone thinking of eating here to reconsider. My husband has contracted the worst form of food poisoning as a result of eating at this place. There has been absolutely no accountability or assistance from The Star to assist my sick husband, who is now on day 3 of food poisoning. Do not eat the rice or honey chicken - you may be hospitalised from the food poisoning. Worst service I have ever experienced, full report has been made to public health and safety team at the city of gold coast. Will never come back.
Member special was just noodles and onion in a no doubt unhealthy sauce. Barely any beef. Didn't taste great because of the sauce. Maybe if I was really hungry and there was nothing else around I'd pay $5 for it. Girl bringing the food out looked pissed to have to be working. Drinks were too sweet. If you want to die a slow and painful death, just eat their food.
Pork was dry and barely warm. Honey chicken and dumplings were good. They charge $1 for black vinegar, this should come free when ordering dumplings. What’s next, charging for soy sauce? Service is terrible, you have to get your own cutlery and plates. There were no plates, so we asked for plates, and the staff member pointed at the empty spots. Once she realised she bought as plates, but no one bothered to stock plates for other diners. For a place called Mei Wei dumplings, there should be more than three different dumplings to be available to order.
Located at Star Casino, we were hoping for good quality Chinese dinner. Food was disappointing… Vegetarian spring rolls were OK. Dumplings lacked flavour and the serving size was small. Chicken congee was bland with big chunks of chicken which was quite tough.
Went to Celebrate my Birthday last Night with a group of Friends and the Food was delicious such a great atmosphere and vibes. Definitely will be coming back.
Average at best. Moved from a booth twice. No reserved signs but apparently people had booked? Mind you - this was a Wednesday night at 8.30pm. Ordered the honey pork, was so dry like it had been hanging on a hook since 10am. Sent back and the second serve wasn't much better. Didn't even est half of our meals. Maybe try somewhere else in the casino or go across the road. Food was very underwhelming. Felt sick ever since eating here.
Potstickers are very small, the xiao long bao were stuck together the soup escaped. The congee was good with the Chinese donuts. Food came out quick but not super hot.
Dined here 2 nights in a row. Delicious food! Honey chicken , kung pao chicken, bbq pork, fried pork, beef noodles … all very very good. Suggest getting a booth if you can, provides a better experience. Friendly staff and food served quickly. We did have the staff bring us food which we didn’t order 3 times the first night which got quite frustrating … perhaps a tech/table ordering issue. Will be back!
Went here twice during a recent conference in the Star hotel, one time for lunch, the other for dinner. The food was good but not excellent and the service was a bit disorganized, especially for the dinner. For lunch, I had their lunch deal, which was Dan Dan noodles with spring rolls as a side and a drink included. For 30$ (Australian Dollar), this is decent value for money. However, the a la carte dishes are definitely on the pricier side. The Dan Dan noodles were a bit bland but not bad overall and the spring rolls tasted crunchy and fresh. For the dinner, we shared various dim sum and they were all rather tasty, especially the dumplings.
Oh god, the worst. Seriously. You’d have a better Chinese meal at the food court in Helensvale Mall. Tough old pork, luke warm honey chicken, food comes out whenever they remember to bring it. The chef should be presented for public stoning by anyone who’s wasted their money here. EDIT: In response to your reply. The replacement pork was as hard and inedible as the first. The Honey Chicken was dry and luke warm, and you then you held my phone hostage until we paid for the ‘complimentary’ rice! I stand by my review. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone. Ever.
I love going to this place the food always comes out quick and is super tasty , i also think the food is priced well .
Our food took so long to come out we had to get a refund . Everything is diy order . You can't even get water bought to the table .
The chief does not know how to prepare sweet sour pork dish at all!. It was a horrible experience !🤮
Love it!
The service was great and very friendly. You either order from the QR code or counter but either way the staff are so helpful. The food is delicious and comes out fast , hot and super delicious. Love coming here . Highly recommend.
buns are ok, it has custard inside.
Buono ma non ottimo, ecco il motivo delle 4 stelle. Ristorante nel quale trovi un tavolo, scannerizzi il qr code e ordini. I camerieri portano solo i piatti. Porzioni buone, abbondanti. Ambiente carino.
Such a nightmare finding a table and ordering food at the counter when you have to pay with your membership card as the login is very finicky.
The food is not restaurant quality. Takeaway quality.
We really enjoyed our meal here. It was easy to order on the QR code and the meals and drinks were brought out quickly. The staff are friendly and helpful. We all really enjoyed our meals.
Duck red curry inedible as it was extremely salty and very spicy. There is no option to select the spice level so I left a note requesting mild but it was so spicy I almost gagged. Disappointing because the presentation was amazing. Love that you can self order straight from your table but there was no followup from staff to check how the food was.
Very poor and slow service. Customer need to scan QR code to order, that’s totally fine but there are 4 staffs including manager? or someone in different uniform focus on take away food only, even dine in food are ready to serve but no one in attendance. Moreover, food are not good. Xiao long bao without soup.
Fried rice was served cold, noodles was alright temperature but quality was no better than food court which is sad. The egg tart taste like it was left over from some days ago. Price overall was quite expensive. Wouldn’t recommend it. Didn’t try any drinks since we wanted to try a few dish first and sadly already scared us away. Self serve hot sauce was really good though so one + star for service for that. This restaurant is a self service where you pick a sit anywhere and sit but doesn’t seem to offer baby sit.
We both had the Pad Thai and it was cooked perfectly, full of flavour and not gluggy like some places do it. I love the speed and convenience of ordering from the table via the QR code. It’s great value at under $20 for most meals.
Mongolian beef was delicious. Xiao long bao sadly have coriander and were very difficult to extract without breaking them.
难吃
Each dish I recieved at Mei Wei Dumplings was first-rate! The Cantonese duck and shrimp fried rice were standouts 😍
A good spot for casual Asian type food. Taste and quality of the food could be much better especially how it’s located inside the Casino building.
Best espresso martini I've ever had. The food was very tasty and of good quality, and considering how busy it was, the food arrived quite quickly. The staff were all lovely.
Asian fusion. Good vibe, nice and quick service, not expensive and over everything the food was really worthy and delicious.
😍Le pad thaï et l’ effiloché de porc sont excellent 🫶😋
Good Asian food.
Omg I can’t believe the negative reviews on here are people mentally unstable?? This food is 10/10!!! Second time here today and the food is still as delicious as it was the first time we came here. We got the dumplings, Thai salad with soy chicken topper, and the 5 spice chicken wings. I’m still dreaming about that food so authentic and cooked to perfection!!
Food was nice, you can order from your table with QR code or at the counter if you want to use cash. Sechuan prawns and chilli beef were nice n spicy, chicken fried rice was soft and flavoursome. Food came out quite quick for a busy evening. $78 for 2 dishes, 2 beers and a rice on a public holiday was reasonable 🤙
美味餐點, QR code 點慘, 餐具、飲水自己動手。
Average
There are too many flies, you have to eat and chase them
Don’t come here, extremely average food for a high price. Atmosphere comparable to any food court and non existing service. Go to the Uncle Su restaurant instead, for not that much more money you’ll get much better food, a pleasant atmosphere and service.
We dropped in for a bite because the garden bar was closed. As noted online the meals came out at completely different times which is annoying but mostly the food quality was poor and cold .Ordered duck and Stir Fried rice!! Two meals in 20 minutes apart 🥱😵💫 The waters told us Apparently is normal in Asia ? Very unhappy customers!!!
They brought the food cold and the rice half an hour later with the waterlogged message that it was normal. Very dissatisfied. Manager Chrystil was very unprofessional, I don't understand how the owner can have such an employee in his restaurant!! BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!!!!!!!! NEVER AGAIN
This restaurant is a truck stop experience. From the disinterested service to the provision of utensils the experience was experience was disappointing, not something you would expect in a casino restaurant. While not expensive the food was basic Chinese restaurant fare you expect in the suburbs. The food was brought out piecemeal, with entrees coming last. The restaurant even failed to have century egg, a staple in most Chinese restaurants. So many better options.
Firstly, I want to paint out I'm Cantonese. I ordered 2 classic Cantonese dishes, beef ho fen(干炒牛河) and shao mai. Both of them are far away from authentic. Specially the beef ho fen. I could only taste soy sauce. So, if you are Cantonese or Chinese, I recommend to avoid this place.
The food is great, the atmosphere is as good as it can be for a casino. But the real highlight is that this one chef who works there named Ivana is as talented as she is beautiful 😍. Everyone she touches is pure perfection and tastes like it was made from scratch and with love 🥰🥰😋!!!
I recently dined at this restaurant, The ambiance was inviting, the service was great by Akshay (bartender), and the food was absolutely delicious.
So good owner is so nice food is great fresh and always hot
Ordered two meals. One for me the other for my wife. First meal arrived and twenty minutes later came the other. I asked about the delay four times which was met with a sorry". Both meals were bland and almost cold. Have eaten here before many times but tonight will be my last."
Absolutely stunning service and food. Duck was really crispy, steam veggie is fresh. I spilt my drink and the staff offered me a new drink after they saw the mess.
We had the Kung Pao chicken & Chilli beef with a side of steamed rice. Fantasticly clean flavours, very quick to come out, service was great. We will be back for lunch tomorrow! I was fanning myself with the menu due to the heat of the Chilli, service staff came And offered water. The reason i was fanning myself was so i could keep eating, it was spicy but it was so yummy!!
Probably the worst service we have ever experienced at a restaurant, a line of customers waiting to be seated, all the staff (3) are making 2 coffees, no eye contact or be with you in a moment, we decided to find our own table as did the line of people, ordering food then took 20 minutes lining up at the till with staff making drinks and not taking food orders, by this stage 3 tables left. Food then arrived in record time, dishes missing, we ordered a bottle of wine we had almost finished our meals, we had to then go up and ask for it, finished our meals then the rice arrived. Dirty dishes around us on tables the whole time we were there. Don't waste your time or money.. Food mediocre !
Poor quality food. Beer from tap also far from fresh
Fried Rice with chicken arrived within minutes, definitely not enough time for a freshly prepared dish. No I got pre prepared rice with boiled chicken and nothing that would come close to flavour. My serve of Shao Mai dumplings had admittedly just been steamed but I don’t believe they were freshly prepared in the kitchen, most likely frozen bulk purchased and cooked from there. It’s a tough one, your choices are to walk a while and find an authentic local restaurant who cook fresh and deserve your $$ or accept the fast food version that this establishment offers.
Not enough dumpling options
Very disappointed. In our opinion the service was awful the udon soup tasted like greasy water to me. The spring rolls like supermarket freezer types and though the pork buns and bao buns seemed ok spoilt by not being even told about where cutlery was or drinks being brought to table despite being told everything would be brought to us. Food court food at restaurant prices in our opinion.
Food was amazingly tasty came out on time and staff were pleasant. Very reasonable pricing We were there on a Friday night so it was busy but it didn’t result in delays for our food Only negative is that rice came out half way thru rather than at the start Hard to fault Soup dumplings were amazing Honey chicken was one of the best examples I’ve had
The freshest most delicious Asian food! Staff are genuinely friendly & meals are served quickly. So reasonably priced which is rare!🥢
It could be so much better. Cold food was an issue and missed orders. Staff cleaning straws, garnishes etc out of the sink and into the bin from emptied drinks then not cleaning hands properly was a bit off putting.
Had lunch after a movie, the QR code disc attached tables to order were not working. After several attempts we all ended ordering at different times. My food was absolutely terrible. The pork strip's were burnt and seemed to have been fried about 10 times. I can honestly say after living and dining on the GC for 50 years this was the worst meal and restaurant ambience I have ever experienced.
After our show we went in for a quick bite. On the order screen it said it would take 30 mins for everything which we were okay with. Most food came with the 30mins however our main dish fried rice took nearly an hour to get to us. I had to go up and aks them about it and before they would look into it I had to go back to get my receipt even though we were clearly sitting next to the bar. Once I asked about it rice came out sort of quickly which begs the question why it took that long to get it...
Prices are expensive for a place where you order via QR code and you need to set the table yourself. Dumplings on menu have small serving sizes and not much variety. Mandarin Crunch Salad was not tasty unfortunately.
waiting on a refund 4 months later for cocktails and food that wasn’t received. Will be taking it further, staff are rude and had other people complaining on the night regarding their food!
I loved the place years ago. Great food with some heat. Good atmosphere. Not anymore. Dried up pork on a plate with nothing else. Other food was terrible, not going back.
We didn't know what to expect but were very disappointed with the food, being regular eaters of Chinese/Asian food. The fried tofu had absolutely no flavour to it and the dumplings were ok but expensive for a portion of 3 and you had to pay extra for vinegar. The crab fried dumplings were lacking in flavour as well. Overall all the food lacked flavour and seasoning. The only nice thing was the vegetable salad with the tamarind style dressing
LiLy和Sam 服务周到,待人亲切,每次用餐都享受到她们完美的服务。 Sunny
The honey chicken was amazing
The worst dumplings I’ve ever had in my life!! Terrible presentation! taste like frozen old food! Terrible service!
We dropped in for a quick bite before a show and ordered via QR code. As noted online the meals came out at completely different times which is annoying but mostly the food quality was poor. Ordered Stir Fried Vegetables and we got a plate of undercooked Veges in gravy. The Honey Chicken extremely thick with bready-batter.
Very likely the best Asian food on the Coast! Followed closely by Thai Magic in Chirn Park, both places Highly recommended!!!
Nice food 😋 very tasty cuisine
The food is very good. Very good prices. Conveniently located inside The Star casino building. Best place for dining, they make also a good coffee. Used to be small, but expanded big. Lots of seats, but it's always full. Staff are very friendly and fast. Recommend to anyone visiting not just the casino, but the Gold Coast.
