Very disappointed with the service, food and extremely expensive prices. The order was completely wrong, and the chicken was extremely tough. I rang to advise of this issue where I was advised she couldn’t understand English, this makes me understand why my meal was wrong. Very disappointed.

Not very freindly place. Lady had no smile on face and offered no help to understand menu. I had no idea about all those sauces. Food didn't taste good .. Only good thing was it didn't took long as their was no other customer their. waste of money.

The fried rice look great but sadly it was overcooked and stuck together. The fried dim sims were just okay but not great. My first order from here and unfortunately the last.

Pay good money for a take away meal and receive what I think is poor quality. Then you have to take it home and assemble it yourself like a set of shelves from IKEA. And by the way your wontons are the worse I’ve ever had. No content and EXTREMELY salty.

The dumplings were terrible. Deep fried rather than pan fried, and seemed to be full of garbage.

We used to get fried rice and Singapore noodles from here all the time, then suddenly nearly all the vegetables were removed from these dishes…. We are vegan too so it was quite a loss! We just don’t go there anymore, also, the language barrier was too great, it was very hard to order anything remotely different or have ingredients removed from a dish.

Ordered via Menulog. They did a perfect Pork and Prawn Special Fried Rice and a Chicken Corn soup. Both were what I would expect from any Chinese takeway store. I'll be ordering more next time I crave Chinese food.

We bought 2 mixed seafood curry laksas today and I was so disappointed to find that the laksa soup was extremely thick and overly sweet. Not like a laksa at all. Probably the worst laksa I've ever had. The vegetables and the seafood were very nice and fresh. However, the soup ruined the whole dish and sadly ruined my appetite.

The food is incredibly fresh, and the battered prawns and fried dim sum are my favorites. The ingredients at this restaurant are guaranteed to be high quality. I even saw the owner loading fresh vegetables into their car when I went to Big Watermelon to buy fruit on Wednesday. The portion sizes are huge. My friend and I couldn’t even finish an entire bowl of fried rice and noodles for a meal, one purchase can last for two meals, and the prices are very reasonable.

I’ve been dining here for several years now, and the prices here are incredibly affordable! They haven’t raised their prices in over three years, and there’s no surcharge at all—truly a restaurant with integrity. The portion sizes are very generous, totally worth the price, especially at this tough period, I believe this is a good behaviour that all the restaurants should learn from A Great Place. What’s even more impressive is the staff’s service—super friendly and attentive, far exceeding the service you get at many takeaway places. Every visit feels welcoming. Highly recommend!

i got food poisoning from eating their beef with vegetables and noodles and i am currently very ill. i do not recommend this place as it is also unsanitary and overpriced.

Do not be mislead by the name. Not a great place at all with not so great Singapore noodles.. actually the worst Singapore noodles ever. Grumpy old lady ain't great either!

Overpriced for the amount of food. I thought I'd give it one more go but won't be going back. The fried rice was nice but lemon chicken was not to my liking. Staff could at least give a smile.

This restaurant over the last ~2 years has gone from one of the best in Mooroolbark to one of the worst. Yet, I keep coming back hoping they’ve improved. I’ve experienced enough over this time to form a fair review. Their noodles (all varieties) get soupier and more unpleasant each time. Raw veggies and chewy noodles because they’ve been rushed without care. This evening, one of the noodle dishes was not what was ordered online (their order slip differed to my invoice too) . The entree’s are often lukewarm as soon as the bag is handed over the counter and oil-logged to the point it makes you feel ill. It seems to be a consequence of new owners, no coordination in busy times and no care for quality. My order took 50 minutes tonight and there was only 1 man cooking with 4 in the kitchen. I hope the owners see this and turn the ship around.

I reviewed this store when it opened three years ago and gave it five stars, but the last couple of times we have gone here, the quality has dropped. This time, the food was quite bad. They were very good about leaving out onion as I requested, so thats a plus in service.

First time here and ordered beef hot box hokkein. Can't speak highly enough. Good portion and cooked fresh. Will be back regularly

Absolutely useless service assistant. Twice in a row in the past month I’ve rung up and ordered over the phone, (I speak fluent & clear English ) but both times the girl has screwed up my order, and both times I’ve missed out on my meal. So infuriating!! Wouldn’t go back there if you paid me. 👎👎👎 Can’t rate the food because I haven’t eaten any yet.

I really love this place. I'm partial to pork omelettes, Singapore noodles and spring rolls. I always go here while I wait for the chemist a few doors down to fill my prescription. I love their food and the staff are friendly and efficient. I never have to wait long for my order. I'd recommend going here.

Food was fantastic and even satisfied the pickiest of eaters. The food was really fresh but the only downfall was the fried wontons had very very little filling but the dim sum was the incredible. Staff were friendly and we will certainly be return customers

Ordered take away here for the first time tonight and it lived up to it's great reviews. Delicious food, friendly and quick service and plenty left over for dinner tomorrow night which is always a bonus 😊. Will definitely be back

Not sure if it has changed hands, but the staff was different and the food was awful. No flavour at all, skimpy amounts of soggy chicken in the lemon chicken, the 'mixed noodles' were a clump of noodles on the bottom of a few pieces of beef and a fair amount of celery with random other vegetables, and a tasteless sauce that looked like dirty dishwater. Very disappointing - this used to be a favourite for the whole family.

The best fried rice with just perfect seasoning ! Staff are friendly too. The chief got a professional cooking skill with 「wok」.

We have been going to a great place for years. The food has always been amazing as has been the service. Just ordered mongolian chicken with flat egg noodles. No chicken, way over cooked vegetables and within 7 minutes of leaving the restaurant the egg noodles had congealed into a solid mass at the bottom of the bowl. Highly highly dissapointing that the new management have decimated what was once a great eating experience.

Staff are super friendly and they chuck in freebies from time to time.

The BEST vegetarian dumplings I have ever had. They have actual vegetables and spices in them. The noodle meals are delicious and full of fresh vegetables and meat.

Usually you have to choose between food or customer service. Not with this place, AMAZING! Give it a go! It’s not a great place it’s an AMAZING place! Food it delicious!

First time visit as the ratings were really good. Whilst we ordered on Menulog-the order wasn't received until I had spoken to the lady at the counter. She kept on asking if I was an uber driver collecting. Other than her being a tad stressed, food was good. Ended up staying 10 minutes passed estimate on Menulog to collect. Overall most likely go again. If you do go in just be a tad patient, don't be intimidated by the lady at the counter- as the food is great and fresh.

Lille, through the power of Facebook, we came across your yummy food again last night (we were regular customers of Turtle Den...Wasabi beef memories!). The flavours you are producing took us right back to memories of TD. Finally we can enjoy yummy Chinese again - but not just around the corner for us sadly...can you believe my daughter travelled from Drouin to collect our food last night? This is the second time we have been to The Great Place. I can only say WOW 🤩!!! Delicious, fresh, tasty food. The servings are huge. Wonton soup, fried wontons, spring rolls, dumplings, noodles and can’t forget the fried noodles. All absolutely amazing. Yes there was a wait, but it is soooo worth it!!! We travel from Seville for the food here. The staff are so friendly and cook the best food around. We will definitely be back😃👍

Was in the area and wanting some noodles. Went to this one because of high rating. The place is basically a takeaway noodle place. It has lots of sauce flavour choice and you can customise your noodles which is great. The lady was a bit scary while the man was very friendly. Ordered char kway teow & a sambal noodle. They gave me free 3 pieces of dumplings which is very nice. And the dumplings are very tasty. Char Kway Teow was sweet but need more zing. Sambal noodle was quite vinegary & sour (the lady warned me) which wasn’t bad in flavour. What blows me away is that despite it uses the same size containers as other places, there is definitely bigger portion from here. Between me & husband, we could eat them 2 times and more! That’s unheard of from other takeaway places. Also they are generous with meat & veggies, just very balanced with all the ingredients. Overall very happy and will come back.

A friendly small family business, which I have tried 3 times now, trying both rice and noodle dishes with various sauces. The portions are extremely generous for the price, 1 serving is practically enough for 2 meals. Great value for money. The downside being that the quality isn't so good. The meats are often a bit too chewy and leathery. The vegetables can be decent sometimes, but other times they are tough and unsatisfying. It feels to me like when you try cooking something that has been left in the fridge or freezer for a few weeks. My other critique is both times I have ordered noodle dishes, the amount of sauce was enormous, when I had finished eating everything there would be a big pool of sauce at the bottom.

Always nice food , but frustrating for the second time now I'm interrupted on the phone while making the order and its now short a meal.Just need to take care when listening. Won't be back.

A shop that lives up to its name. Invariably friendly service and very high quality takeaway food, no matter how busy they are. Be prepared for a long wait around peak meal times, but the food is definitely worth the wait. You may like to phone in your order at the busiest times.

I'm not sure how this place has got so many good reviews. Ordered the worst Curry Laska I have ever eaten, seriously the worst ever.!! No flavour at all, tasted like watery spicy chicken broth, no creamy cocunut taste, nothing. The noodles, veges and beef were not even cooked in the Laska soup, nothing had any flavour. Very disappointing and will not go there again. I did not even eat it as it was so bad.!! Not to mention the 40min wait when we ordered in store and was told ready in about 10 mins. I actually think they forgot about us until I had to ask how much longer, then it was 10 mins from then.
