We ate here this weekend & we were so disappointed with the quality of the food. We ordered a steak sandwich & chicken satay. The chicken was dry & the steak sandwich was basically cold & tough! I reckon it’d been sitting there for a while before they brought it out. The chips tasted old. The food was not cheap either.

We attended the Forest Hotel restaurant/pub for a birthday celebration. We placed our order at 7pm and still hadn't received our food by 8pm. We had to complain 4 times before we got the manager's attention. While she was apologetic and issued a gift certificate for a return visit (unlikely), our food only started arriving at 8.15pm in delayed stages (not together), all our veggies were cold, and the one dish was totally undercooked. Very disappointing resulting an unpleasant birthday celebration.

Terrible service, food was served cold, tables were left uncleared and dirty. Management of booking was unsatisfactory. Second time in three visits we’ve had issues with our booking. New menu provide poor variety and poor quality. Last time we’ll visit.

Terrible food. All three of our meals were poor. Two of us had steak sandwiches which arrived after a 40 minute wait and were stone cold and tough. They had obviously been sitting around. One salmon tasted stale and unappetising. We visit regularly and have run out of food options with the exception of the humble burger. It is a great venue for a drink and they have a weekly beer special otherwise it would be rated a one.

Just returned home after an earlier dinner for four. Great service at the bar ordering drinks and food. When the food arrived though 3 of the 4 meals were stone cold. Literally stone cold. ||||No one checked back with us, and we didn't have time to complain or return the meals unfortunately. Based on the reviews here it doesn't appear that they would be interested in feedback anyway.||||Very disappointing. Won't be bothering again.

I want to say our visit on Thursday night was FANTASTIC the food was exceptional and we were very surprised how short of a wait we had to get our meals for how busy it was. We couldn’t fault the food at all the prawn and chilli pasta was the surprise for me usually when you order a dish like this you get a couple of prawns and not much chilli flavour well not this time at least 6+ prawns and it had a kick to it without being overpowering. ||||I want to thank the chefs and compliment them on a fabulous feed. Also I want to make mention of your duty manager Bert he was awesome so accommodating friendly and very helpful also the young lady that was serving at the bar where we order the food also I didn’t catch her name but she always had a smile and was lovely. ||||We will be back again very soon thankyou so much. We love the forest it’s a two bus journey for us to get there where we only have to walk across the road to the sands but it’s well worth it. ||||Thanks again. ||||Peter and family.

Standard pub style menu. Burgers, pizza, fish and chips. Lots of veggie salads and the obligatory children’s best sellers. The menu also includes several upscale steak and fish mains together with chef specials. Average pricing and average quality. It’s a pub!||Service is good and quick.

Awesome food friendly staff great atmosphere

They've done a great job renovating this hotel. Both the outside and inside spaces are inviting. Three of us had drinks and shared wings and calamari and both were fresh and tasty. One had the lamb shanks and there were two meaty shanks on mash with a gravy and he assured us they were beautiful. We'll be back!

My first time to the not so long ago refurbished/rebuilt hotel. I was one of a group of 11.||Venue was bright and breezy, staff were well presented and extremely helpful. All meals that were had by our group were delivered promptly and were delicious. I had the lamb shanks (yes you do get two) and they, along with the fresh vegetables, were superb. One other person had the shanks and had to take some home although the venue is not allowed to supply take away containers, so take your own.||Selection of beers and wines was extensive. Ordering by scanning the QR code on the table was a novel idea but unfortunately there is a very small but still annoying surcharge for doing this. I don't know if there is a surcharge if ordering in person. I will probably order in person next time anyway to maintain the venues need to employ staff. I definitely will be going again some time.

Just back from an evening here as part of a large group. The refurb is fantastic and the menu looked good, if over priced. The group highly recommended the salmon, barramundi and burgers but the $19 superfood salad was a joke. Small serve, strange ingredients (grapes 🤷‍♀️) and completely over priced. Kids nuggets were ok but the fries weren’t cooked properly so all in all disappointing.||Kids loved the outdoor area and good wine selection so hopefully we do go back.

We had a mother's group meet up there. The food is very yummy but pricey. Overall a nice renovation with good play area for kids when it's not too hot.

Thank you so much to the young man that checked me in. I just checked out of hospital with a broken foot and he kept the desk open for me after his shift finished and helped me to my room. Big shout out to the lady and gentleman that kindly let me hand around whilst I was waiting to be picked up. Thank you!

It's not the Hilton nor does it claim to be. But the room although dated was clean as was the bedding, bathroom and towels etc. The staff were extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful. The bar and bistro were very reasonably priced, and the food served was plentiful and tasty. There's bus stops right outside the hotel, which means with what seems to be a well intigrated public transport system (bus, train and ferries), you can travel around the Sydney area easily. But you do need to get an Opal travel card or use the app, as they don't accept cash. If I happened to be in Sydney again, I'd certainly be happy to stay there again.

We visited yesterday & was more than happy with the service both with team members & the manager that day. Got a beautiful welcoming smile from team member Electra & prompt service from the other team members.

Don't expect the Hilton - it's not and you'll only be disappointed if you are expecting that. However the meals were fantastic and the rooms were very outdated but somehow comfortable.. I had a great sleep!

Honestly after 15 years traveling around Australia this is by far the worst accommodation I've stayed in. That's not quite correct actually....it was so disgusting I didn't even end up staying there, I found other accommodation. I'm not sure how this place stays open and it needs to be knocked down.

Utterly horrendous. Was so shocked at how shabby the establishment was on arrival that I swiftly read some of the Google Reviews. One of them mentions how the hotel would be better suited on the end of a demolition ball. All I can say is, I’d be happy to hire said demolition ball and get the job done myself for the safety and general bodily health of other civilians. The Just Juice breakfast offering did at least provide some essential nutrients for survival.
