Fantastic
Very good food liked it a lot
Our new local ❤️ great food great service and such a lovely venue can’t go wrong and the kids play area is awesome we only see our kids when there food is ready
Everytime I go i spend 200 at the bar and somehow lose 400 on the pokies . I tell the missis it's just expensive food sorry guys .
Great gaming area and good staff
Always a great local
A funeral with a difference. I hate funerals. Mum had passed and I wanted it to be as easy and relaxing as possible for everyone to make it a joyous occasion to celebrate her 89 years and easier for all the people with mobility problems not to have to move to another venue. I don't like going to chapels with rows of seats sitting in a formal way and then having to go to another venue for the wake. Finding a place to do it all was hard. I contacted Jess at The Amstel Club to see if we can do the entire service and after celebration in their venue and being able to have mum there too. After checking, she said YES. It was the most beautiful funeral we have all been to. EVERYONE commented on the venue and being able to sit on tables and chairs with a cuppa or drink during the service. It made it more comfortable for everyone and with 2 big screens, nobody missed anything. It is tucked around in a private area. Thank you Jess and all the staff for a wonderful send off for our mum. She would've loved it too. I highly recommend Amstel Club for any function, especially a full life celebration with the ease of the service and wake all in one venue.
This was my first time back since they had it done up. Meal was good staff friendly. Will go again.
Came on Sunday for a baby shower. We were in the enclosed outdoor area. I believe there's also a kids" area."
Excellent steak and salmon dishes today... Excellent staff always helpful That and a decent win on the pokies made for a good day out 😆
First time there, food was good and had a good atmosphere and a monitored child play area, would go again
Amstel has always been a family favourite.
Awesome food, fantastic staff. If you fancy a good night with good food, go here. Dont forget to book, it is quite popular
The Māori security guard at the front reception was full of enjoyment and was very kind and went beyond to make everyone feel incredible! Props to him he made my day his attitude was lovely and looked like putting a smile on people’s face was his objective and he definitely did that🫡🫡🫡
Awesome bar, food & staff!
Went here for a birthday recently. Had a great night. It’s pub food! It’s priced at pub prices. What more can I say? I like to give credit where it is due. So I forgot to say that I was massively impressed with the customer service. Sensational guys! Bar staff, wait staff, sensational!
Really nice bar/pub. Food was pretty good. The lasagna was large you won't go hungry
Had some good and bad food, but the last one was the worst. I will not return .
Celebrated friend’s bday here and the place is always busy. The food came out a bit late but didn’t disappoint as it tastes good. A bit noisy if you’re keen to compete with the loud voices of the other patrons.
Lovely food and great service . Beautiful and clean and very modern
Used to be our go to but will not be returning after tonight. First walked in to a almost empty restaurant but that didn’t mean we were served and after waiting about 20 minutes went and ordered at the counter to be told someone will be out soon but then after realising on 2 on the table let us order at the counter. Then garlic bread came out so soggy you couldn’t pick it up to eat, no side plates offered. Mains came out only 5 mins after entre so not time to eat it if we wanted to. Mains lamb cutlets that were deep fried and and soaked in oil, the mash potatoe was grey in colour and also disgusting and unable to be eaten. A $19 cocktail was served in a short glass with more coconut on the top then actual drink.
Really disappointed $19 cocktail in a short glass, disgusting soggy garlic bread, and deep fried lamb cutlets served on powdered mashed potato all with zero table service first time ive left a restaurant with an almost full plate.
The last time I came to Amstel was also the only time in my life I'd attempted to take a game of golf seriously. By the back 9, I was far too drunk and under skilled to carry on. I think that was for Slinger's 21st. Yonks ago! This time was for Benson's 40th, and there is a distinct lack of a golfing course. I ordered a meat lover's parma. Listed in the ingredients was hotdog. I requested the hotdog to be placed into a bun and perched atop my meal. It may sound juvenile, but I hadn't eaten yet that day, so I wanted to have a good go at it. The waitress negotiated my request with the kitchen staff, and I was happy to be the recipient of the masterpiece displayed here. What a time to be alive!
Ambience, Food,& Service is all there in one @ Amstel. I absolutely love their food and would definitely recommend it to everyone.
Great food and great service!
Once a golf course now a 5 star restaurant/pub area. Really nice and modern and even have a function room which is just beautiful. Food well priced and really nice! Service nice and a great kids playground too which has console gaming inside too. Would definitely go back and have been quite a few times now.
Had a wonderful evening out with friends. We discovered that there is an overflow area to the Bistro. It was well decorated, cool, much quieter than the bistro and the Amstell staff went to the effort to be highly attentive of our needs. The meals are huge and very delicious. Both the cocktails and cocktails were delicious. Definitely intend to return.
I do enjoy coming to Amstel with friends and family. As I come here every now and then it’s hard to give a review as I always try different meals when coming here. But the most recent time I came here, I ordered the oysters, scallops and pork cutlet. The cutlet was so juicy and tender. It was a big serve with all the veggies and the cutlet itself. This would have to be by far one of my favourites from here. I would recommend Amstel for a meal as the serves are generous and delicious.
Great selection on the menu at the bistro The food was delicious. Drinks at bar prices, but not a huge selection of non alcoholic beverages. Eg Low Alcohol champagne or Rosè. Nice to be able to sit and talk and catch up at the booths. Can fit 6 but more comfortably recommend 4 adults. The wait was fine for the meals, and I was there in a busy day. Line at the bar can be busy, so watch and choose when to head over to purchase drinks.
Very bad hostility and the security guard after they changed
This is a great place to eat. Service is fantastic. Vegetarian options are a little limited (no veg options in the senior menue). The eating area is really big and it's all open tables. Free to sign in and good parking.
Best lamb cutlet I’ve ever had!
How disappointing this place was! They did not accommodate gluten free meals in the sports club and had to go into the main bar for that which was delivered abruptly and just started to take the other customers order. Ordered meals and waited until 9 for the food to come out only to be told that the kitchen was closed and the chef forgot to prepare the meal.. offered a refund.. what a joke! Won’t be returning 👍
The bar accused a patron of being cut off by security and refused to serve them drinks. However, when asked, security denied cutting the person off. The person ordering was not intoxicated and had previously ordered food for friends outside. The bar staff were unable to provide a clear explanation or confirm their reasoning because they relied on the security to be the reasoning. The bar staff didn’t apologise or provide any clarification or resolution to the situation, leaving it unresolved and frustrating for those involved.
Food great, service good but still really noisy. No improvement in the noise levels but everything else is great.
An extra star for Dee. Lovely lady who went the extra mile for me! All staff are super friendly and lovely
Just loved the place.
Had seniors roast beef yesterday in bistro overcooked and sliced thick tough as old boots and zuchini and carrots were cold and not cooked at all plenty on the plate but was terrible would have been happy with half the food cooked well and served hot dissapointing my freinds parma was great clearly seniors are a nuciance
Never coming back! Fob security VERY rude at front desk thinks he owns the place needs to be replaced ASAP! Didn’t even walk in the restaurant yet and he already was asking us for ID. Then told us the bistro was closed when clearly it wasn’t it was 8:30pm on a Friday night? Then had the audacity when the manager left to have a laugh and tell us that if we wanted to eat, to go to KFC across the road. What a joke! Idk who hired him but will be happy to come back when he’s fired and not there thanks! ☺️
This Security Person name Johny Everytime he is so rude, angry and unprofessional with customers for no reason. His attitude is so unwelcoming, disrespectful and completely unacceptable. It is beyond believe that so many people have expressed this in past even i can see this in their reviews on website but unfortunately nothing is done about this. This is been continuing from very long time. Dont know why this person getting favours and customer treated such way. I wish I can give less than 0 for this type of customer service.👎👎
I really enjoyed my time at this club. It had a very festive atmosphere. Food was great and service very friendly and helpful. Nice being able to eat outside on the terrace area. Great menu with interesting options. Servings are very large so bring yiur appetite. Will be back again
Wifes birthday today, I didn't recieve what i ordered, awkward i ate it. Wifes lamb chop dinner not good Tried a Chop😞 Everyone rallied round and provided enough from our plates to make a decent meal. Desert lish from the Cheesecake shop.😋
Great food and service and great kids area
I recently visited Amstel Bistro with my cousin, and overall, it was a delightful dining experience. The food was exceptional, full of flavor, and beautifully presented – we were genuinely impressed with each dish we tried. However, the mocktail with fairy floss was a bit of a letdown. While it looked visually appealing, the taste didn’t quite match up to the quality of the food. Despite this, I’d still recommend Amstel Bistro for anyone looking for a great meal, as the food truly stood out!
Very good atmosphere. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food very good.
Don't go there if you want a pub/restaurant / sports bar that caters to Rugby League, only horse racing on the menu there.
Great food and fantastic service
Always a good meal
It was a nice bistro but the food was awful. The crumbed layer on the lamb cutlets was so hard and burnt that my wife lost a filling. The lasagna just tasted awful and didn’t taste right. I have been throwing up beef noodles for 12 hours now and still don’t feel that they are all gone. $100 on 3 meals is just too much too much for that standard of food. When we told them it was terrible and we won’t back, the waitress just didn’t care either. Go somewhere else rather than here.
Taken here for a small family gathering. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The food was exceptional. Never in my life have I had Calamari that were succulent perfectly seasoned with a lightly crisp exterior that melted in the mouth. Seriously a world class dish. The roast of the day was lamb and the meat was perfectly cooked and melt in the mouth with a selection of pumpkin and roast potatoes and greens. It was a lovely way to spend great time with family. Comfortable and elegant premises, smiling and happy staff, great food and cool ambiance. Thank you 👍🏼👏🏼 Amstel and my beautiful family.
very nice restaurant. quick service and yummy fresh food . cant complain . will be back
Amstall has become our new favorite place to go for a dinner out. We typically go on a Friday or Saturday night. Food has always been exceptional. However a recent dinner on a Sunday evening left us very dissatisfied. I ordered a new item on the menu, chicken cor don Bleu with seasoned roasted potatoes and cooked vegetables. The dish arrived on the table minus any potatoes. I pointed this out to the waitress who apologized and returned with a side dish of boiled potatoes. No butter, no seasoning, just 2 tiny unappealing plain old boiled potatoes and certainly not what the menu stated which was seasoned roasted potatoes. I then started in on the vegetables. I enjoy slightly undercooked vegetable that still have some crunch to them because there's nothing worse than soggy overcooked soft vegetables, but these vegetables were barely cooked and barely warm. It actually took effort and strength to bite through them and cutting them with a knife was even more difficult. Then the chicken... It looked good, was decent sized but when I bit into the crumbed chicken, the underneath of the crumbs were raw. I cut the chicken open and peeled the crumbed section off the chicken and found it to be pasty. I could actually spread it (like butter) with my knife. Needles to say I couldn't eat it. I pushed the plate to the side and waited for a waitress to come by. After quite a wait, I was finally able to point this out to the waitress who started to offer to have it recooked, however I told her not to bother as I had lost my appetite. She did apologize and said she would inform the chef. We sat there for about another 15 mins to see if she would come back to update us, but nothing. No apology for the meal, no offer of a discount, or a vouchure for a future meal, nothing... So I spent $33 for two bites of undercooked chicken with a pasty crumb, a few mouthful attempts on vegetables that could break a tooth, and boiled plain unappealing potatoes. I won't go into the issues my partner had with his meal as this post is long enough. So my review is they're usually great, just not on a Sunday night it seems, and it was sad that other than informing the chef, nothing was actually done to attempt to satisfy the customer. An expensive and disappointing meal. (The 2 meals together cost $68 and 2 cocktail drinks $42)
Maybe it's me, I didn't find the food very flavoursome. Everything else was great.
Been here a few times but last visit was a bit disappointing, meals are huge and filling but chips were very ordinary Bar Is a little shy of some popular spirits, menus could be cleaned and tables were sticky Will go again but in no rush
Nice place to have a family lunch/dinner
Good food and good service
Seafood platter for 1 was ordinary don't bother ordering it. Fish was still pink in sections, prawns were boiled? And pretty tasteless. Pretty disappointed.
Literally rocked up and was not allowed in and haven't even gone through the main door!. Will never go back! Disrespectful and miss judgement.
Great food. Went for lunch & very generous sized meals. Had the lamb shanks...delicious but way too big with 2 shanks on the plate really struggled to eat the whole lot. Service wasn't the greatest & it wasn't busy at all
Plenty of parking, staff very friendly
This place has changed a lot waitresses very friendly, food was cooked well and presentation was just right
Very good service and friendly staff. The atmosphere is also good. Lovely dinner.
Whenever I feel like a good steak, I would come here to Amstel. Food portion is great and generous. We come here often and always receive great and friendly service from staff regardless of quiet weekday lunches or busy weekend dinners. I must say staff service is one of the most consistent factor here and I always feel welcomed here. My personal favourite would be steak; prawns and calamari; chai latte.
