We went recently for a birthday dinner, staff were warm and professional, food was delicious as always with very generous portion sizes. It's always a bonus dining here as there's a beautiful space for kids to run and play.

Garbage food, 3 meals didn’t get eaten in the table. Parma was dry and had no sauce, chips undercooked. Not cheap either, will never go here again. Keep looking people

Stop selling kangaroo meat!!!

Serving our wildlife on a plate. Disgusting profit making of the cruel slaughter of our Kangaroos

First time visitors including one from the UK. We all raved about our meals. Staff very accommodating. Highly recommend and we will return. Thanks staff.

We enjoyed a lovely lunch at Paradise Valley. Bistro service was friendly, menu a good range of choices and meal was excellent and plentiful. View great, light and open area to enjoy the surroundings. Thank you for an enjoyable visit.

Friendly, helpful and attentive young staff, great food at a fair price and set in beautiful surroundings. A great place for a wonderful lunch with friends and/or family. Not surprised it’s very busy on the weekends. Only wish it was closer to home.

Great family venue with a varied menu and plenty of space for kids to run around. Good for family lunch.

Anita and the crew are awesome. The hop nation on tap was the cherry on the cake thanks again love it

We had dinner here recently and ordered the gluten free lamb shoulder to share. It was so soft and delicious and could have easily fed 3. The gravy and potatoes complimented it well. The view was beautiful and it was lovely to see lots of home grown herbs outside plus lavender and berries.

We love the paradise, we go regularly especially for Monday night steak night. Can’t fault them, service is always friendly and accommodating, food is always good and it’s a lovely spot with nice views. Highly recommend. I especially love the salad that comes with the steak, the dressing is so yum!

Lovely, relaxing, spacious dining room. Staff most welcoming and friendly. We both enjoyed our meals. Vegetarian and Vegan diets catered for, which is not common in hotels. Reasonable prices and quality food. We appreciated the complimentary sparkling water. Thank you!

Great food, Great service. It’s such a pleasure when your steak is cooked exactly as you asked.

Just celebrated our six year anniversary at the Paradise Valley Hotel. Great food, my partner loved the roast, and the best Prosecco I have had the pleasure to drink!

Great food. Good pricing. Friendly people

Great meal and customer service

Called in for lunch and fabulous service and food!

Great good and service; our go-to local bistro.

Staff were great , beer was cold! Sadly left hungry and full of regret of what I ordered. I ordered the pork belly $38 Pork belly was on the smaller size and lacked flavour by itself would suggest working more favour into the braising process, skin was very average. The artichoke was ok but not enough and fennel was terrible until I cut the outer 4 layers off. Dish lacks texture and need a hearty element like a roast pumpkin or potatoes. The jus was pretty good but would have been better with more vegetables to mop up the excess. Experience number two a few months later: I can’t work out how to make it give Second review, I’ll type it along with this one, Today I had the barramundi the fish itself was nice but the meal itself for $38 was absolutely not enough and at the request of the waitress she suggested that I get vegetables as a side order to make it a filling meal which I did which brought the price up from 38 To $54, An absolute Rip off Why can’t there be the option of the same veggies that come with a Parma or a steak instead of chips? Come with this meal for the $38? To make it an actual meal, absolute disgrace

This local pub is a winner. Food is much better than you would ever thing possible from your local pub, 5 star food, great menu with awesome beer and wine selection.

Venue is quite nice, especially outdoors. Food has taken a turn for the worse unfortunately, soggy chips in a bucket next to some very blonde and dry schnitzel, such a shame as they used to be amazing.

Always a pleasure. Staff extremely attentive and polite. Thank you for the wonderful food and excellent service once again.

Steak sandwich was delicious and the side of chips crunchy. The Guinness was on the tap and as creamy as :-) Our waitress Maddie was outstanding with great customer service skills. She was a great communicator and was always on the ball to clear the tables. Maddie you will go a long way :-) Will definitely return.

Our group of 4 had a wonderful lunch. The staff were very helpful and the food was great. A very varied menu catering for meat eaters and vegans well. Well spaced tables too.

Great location, good food and service

Very nice place, food and staff. Wish the steak was cooked a little more medium than rare i got but i dont want to penalise it for that.

Food always good, service friendly.

A wonderful hotel with a bit of everything for everyone. Indoor bistro with great staff, mark the owner is a highly respected sommelier so if you would like your excellent food matched with professional recommendation, this is the place for you. There is a wonderful beer garden for the kids to run around and Puffing Billy runs along adding a bit of magical charm to the beautiful views. There is also regular music featuring local musicians. This venue is also regularly involved in local community fund raising events throughout the year. I highly recommend a visit if you've never been or not been for a while... a little gem in the hills.

would like to express my absolute displeasure in your staff and venue . I’m extremely allergic to FISH , I have no issue with other seafood except fish . I visited your restaurant with my friend as we were doing some mystery shopper customer reviews. We ordered the crab fettuccine as there is NO fish in it !! After 1 mouth full my throat closed over , my tongue swelled up and I could hardly breathe, my friend was trying to help me while your staff on looked from a distance and then brought over napkins as they seen other patrons trying to help me . You waitress told my friend she had to take me to the bathroom as I was upsetting the other patrons. So now I’m trying to walk while not being able to breath and now I’m laying on the bathroom floor . No ambulance was offered or called , the comments from your two female staff members was absolutely disgusting, I didn’t choose to go into anaphylactic, it’s not my fault that either your cook used fake crab or it was transference from a utensil or hands , either way this wasn’t something in my control . After coming out all the food was mysteriously taken away so we could have it tested !! Then your staff member demanded payment for food that couldn’t be eaten . Your establishment should be ashamed of the behaviour of all your staff members involved, cook , waitresses and so on . I can not believe they MADE me go to the bathroom because I was upsetting other patrons and no ambulance or assistance was offered . They also were aware we didn’t have a phones or belongings , your staff member packed all our belongs up when clearing the table . You need to retrain your staff on what to do when someone goes into a medical emergency

Sat outside in the gardens great setting. Ordered steak sandwich whick was really nice but i payed extra for an egg which was not put on it. 28 for a steak sandwich is a bit up there so should already have bacon and egg on it. 3 bucks for an egg is a bit much. Also no seasoning on the chips which were the best chips ive had in a long time! Whrn i asked for salt it never came. Maybe add some to the cutlery that is outside. Will definitely return

Usually a nice place to have a nice meal. Was served the wrong drinks. Parma was cold. They have changed the chips to what I can only say is Cole’s value. Didn’t receive the salad for the meal. Rude staff behind the bar.

Friendly and attentive service from start to end. Nice setting and delicious food. The chicken parma with chips and salad was delicious. Look forward to coming back.

Lovely meals. Great service. We're so lucky to have such a quality local pub.

Horrible wouldn't rate it at all. $31 for dry pasta 😞.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was not great. We got served some very undercooked burgers. Manager did apologies through the staff for the burgers. New burgers were offered but when they had taken so long to come out i had them cancel as everyone was nearly finished their meals by this time.

We had a group booking of 18+ for a Christmas break up lunch on Saturday 21st December, consisting of a mix of retired and working male tradies. The bistro is a bright and airy windowed area with magnificent views out to hills towards Menzies Creek and beyond. The bistro staff and the bar staff are all very welcoming, friendly and flexible providing excellent customer service. Our group swelled in numbers and the staff were great in finding additional tables without prior notice while still looking after everyone individually. The staff provide full table service in the bistro and the menu provides a varied selection as well as traditional pub favourites. A special call out to Hayley who managed the booking process and was there on the day, and to Jaicob who masterfully and tactfully chased down the multiple individual meal payments while everyone was focused on having Xmas fun during the course of the afternoon in the beer garden. The Paradise Valley Hotel has great outdoor areas too which are ideal for having a quiet drink overlooking the view with Puffing Billy passing by regularly only metres away. A terrific location for groups or family with plenty of tree shaded areas and lawns. With a bus stop right outside the Hotel, very convenient public transport to and from the main Belgrave township hub.

Went for the Sunday Roast in December and it was worth it! Lovely staff, good food and portion sizes, saw puffing Billy go past!

Peaceful setting, great food, great service. Star was a Star! Will definitely be returning in the future.

Always a favourite place to go and never fails to delight! Food is great, setting is awesome, rooms are very comfortable and offer variety, and staff are always doing that extra bit to make you feel very welcome. Many thanks once again!

Wonderful outdoor setting under the shade of umbrellas - our dogs love it. You can watch Puffing Billy go right past. I recommend their duck pie.

Food was good service staff were lovely and of course, the location is fantastic

It’s a lovely place for family, friends, or anyone to enjoy a good weather in Melbourne. The food was alright but service very good. Bonus point for the passing Puffing Billy Train!

This used to be a good place, don't know what has happened. Had lunch there a week ago with friends, food was so bad three of us weren't charged for the main course. Don't know how true it is but someone told me places such as this no longer have a chef and all the food is brought in. Perhaps that could explain the poor quality on this occasion.

Had a great night at the Clemo

Absolutely lovely staff who ensured we were well looked after throughout the night. Food was amazing as well. I've never had garlic bread nor a chicken parma this good anywhere else. Location is very nice, with a beautiful decking overlooking the hills of Emerald. Would highly recommend paying this hotel a visit if you're in the area...

Bistro - Service was great, food was lacking particularly the steak very greasy and over cooked. To be honest it felt like it was one that might have been reheated.

First of all, amazing service. The wait staff were so attentive and friendly. They gave some colouring in for our daughter and made us feel very welcome. Second of all, the drinks menu was very extensive. A great tap list of independent beers with pretty much every brew style covered. Your classic mainstream draught beers are all available too. I had a parma, and by complete chance happened to go on parma night. It was an amazing quality chicken breast, generous chips, yum salad/dressing. Would not have been disappointed paying full price on a regular night. Thanks for the effort and thought that has clearly been put into running this place the way it is run. I will definitely be back!

My son and I visited here for dinner not too long before closing time on the 27th of November (2024). I've driven past this place a zillion times but for some reason, never even considered trying dinner there until by chance tonight, Elevation was closed so we chose Paradise Valley as an alternative. Wow! Just as I've now read in the other reviews, our experience was fantastic. The staff (two young ladies and a young fella) were brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. They were prompt, attentive and super friendly. We started our dining with a garlic bread entree. My only complaint was that it tasted so good, we wished it didn't disappear into our stomachs so quickly and that it was twice the size...lol. I had the schnitzel and my son had what I think was a parma (could be wrong....self absorbed 'n' all). Both meals were excellent. Good serve size and great tasting. The whole experience made even the beer and coffee taste better. We're very much looking forward to heading back there again and highly recommend the experience. Great work by the staff and management team.

The Paradise Hotel is a fantastic country pub with brilliant service, stunning views and the menu just keeps getting better and better. A choice of spaces makes it perfect for any occasion, the food is amazing whether it's pub favourites or something more gourmet, but the true gift here is the staff... always friendly, knowledgeable and quick to make your visit as special possible.

Amazing customer service, Jacob especially, changed tables around to accommodate our party for the evening to secure a outdoor table. Will continue to recommend to everyone we know. All the staff need a pat on the back from management. Thank you.

We went there on Sunday for lunch and it was busy but all our meals and service was unreal! All 8 meals and entrees were great and highly recommend the Steak sandwich. We sat outside and the service to there was great and it was a perfect day. Thanks

Very nice burger with a fabulous view of puffing billy. Very nice staff too.

We had lunch at Paradise Valley on 10 Nov to celebrate our engagement. It was a large group and honestly could not fault the staff, venue or food! The outside area is amazing for children as well, and we got to see the puffing Billy go past which was great. Would recommend this gem to anyone that is up around the Emerald area. Thank you!

Great location, friendly staff, delicious food, what's not to love! 10/10

We shared a wonderful family event at the Paradise Valley Bistro last night. What a beautiful setting, with very friendly and attentive staff and lovely food. We had a wonderful night.

Stop by to grab a quick steak lunch, surprised by the excellent steak. The steak was perfectly cooked to medium rare and has a very nicely done charcoal flavour.

Monday night steak night, porterhouse with chips and salad for $25. Very good size porterhouse, cooked perfectly medium rare, excellent flavour and texture. Generous size for the special. Also the Tom yum rice and potato cakes which were all excellent. Our favourite pub in the area.

Amazing food, incredibly attentive and very kind staff, and great location! Couldn’t give any faults here. 10/10!

I organised a afternoon / night out (PVH Diner & LesDivas Show Warrugal) for 12 friends from both local & Interstate. The PVH I've been several times since March moving into the area and meals have always been awesome. I'm glad to have arrange dinner here for the night as all that attended enjoying the place. Staff are always friendly, atmosphere always great, views are awesome... I'm so glad to have arranged dinner here and everyone enjoyed their meals & drinks, and even better that PVH is my local... Thank you

A pleasant surprise on our wanderings around the hills.

Went to the 'Paradise' on Tues.22nd. Oct. for family catch up (4 persons) This used to be our favourite local, with parents living in Emerald . . We were served by one young happy girl, and another who definitely did not want to be there. The food was not good, and way too expensive. The 2 Fish & chips were both tasteless, and one piece of mine was cold ! Shared salads were lousy, wet and soggy. 1 pork belly was o/k. Parma was dry and probably pre made. Yes the view is still there, but the great old pub is gone. Garry

Great food and excellent staff.

We had a great night at Paradise Valley Hotel last night. The food was delicious as always and the staff were fantastic. We didn't feel rushed at any point, ordered our food and drinks at our own pace and until we were literally the last people in the restaurant, we were able to just relax and enjoy our evening. The only thing that could have been done better would have been where we were seated. I advised that I use a wheelchair when I made the booking and yet we were seated out on the deck. In order to get there, I had to navigate around tables and disturb other diners which was really disappointing. Fortunately, everything else was great and I highly recommend making the drive up to Clematis to dine at this amazing restaurant.

Our family called in for dinner after a day out with Thomas. Customer service was excellent, waiting staff were young but friendly and professional and obviously good at their job and bright and bubbly. Our meals ( waugu steak and the steak sandwich ) were great, except the complementary salad which was just lettuce with fried onion on top. They brought out colouring-in for our daughter which was a lovely touch and helped entertain our 4 year old. Will be back next time we are in the area. Oh and did I mention the lovely outdoor enclosed dining room overlooking the mountains- in the pouring rain this was lovely.

Great meals and service. Perfect location

Very friendly service. It was a busy day but all our waiting staff were helpful and smiling. The food was lovely too 🙂

First time visiting PVH. No regrets but probably won't come back. Food was on the expensive side and just ok. Staff were friendly and attentive. Online booking system was great. Heard the potato cakes were good, so ordered the entree: 4 for $12. We were amused when they were served cos we were expecting the same size as a takeaway, but these were tiny! Took a photo with hand for scale, but honestly they look bigger in the pic than in real life. Apart from the size, they were pretty good. Thick slices of potato that were perfectly cooked and a light airy crispy batter. Couldn't taste the chicken salt and the sauce wasn't really a chutney as described in the menu. For mains I got the falafel pita pocket which I found tasty and very filling, but it was basically all carbs: thick soft pita bread, three tasty falafel, tons of hummus and a generous side of chips. I personally would have preferred a bit less hummus and lots more salad - the pita only had a small amount of diced tomato and cucumber. I had to add a fair bit of the salad that come with other people's mains to be able to eat it.

Paradise Lost. I'll try and keep it brief and to the facts. Friendly attentive staff, Smallest Chicken Parmigiana I've even seen let alone eaten, unseasoned Chicken and chips. Beer was cold. Atmosphere was like white noise in a tunnel. To summarise expensive, undersized and underwhelming.

Fantastic food,we had 2 parma,s and chips,A steak and vegies,Calamari and spicey brocoli, the food was amazing and fresh, all food came out hot,the young girl that lookied after us was fantastic!,we enjoyed our shelves and there was even a band playing,we will be back and will most certinaly tell others, everything was so easy to book over the net, thankyou to allstaff, high 5,s well done, thankyou from Leigh Johnson and family.

After coming here a few times and loving the vibe, food, location and service - I decided to have a small gathering for my birthday. AMAZING - the staff went above and beyond my expectations. I love the location, it could be easily missed if driving in the area. I do wish they had accomodation as well. The food is wonderful. A small menu with a great variety - done beautifully. As always - too busy enjoying my time there to take photos.

Great lunch and excellent service

Even though busy, we had a quick dinner. Fast service and nice people.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary with lunch at Paradise Valley. Food and service were outstanding and the view from the balcony windows? Just gorgeous.

Disappointed food was average and overpriced.

Had a really beautiful evening, great staff, very helpful. Then the food came it was amazing best food i have eaten out for a while I have been to so many venues and restaurants, in the last 5 years, this one i one of the most memorable food i have had. Do not go without saganaki unreal, the fish was the best
