Great vibes, amazing cocktails

Crows Nest, you sly dog! Hiding a gem like Foxtrot upstairs? This place is the bee's knees! Cocktails? Forget basic. We're talking works of art that'll make you wanna foxtrot. Bartenders? Mind-readers with a knack for witty banter. Food? Forget soggy chips, this is gourmet goodness that'll make you wanna lick the plate (don't, though). Cozy upstairs section overlooking the street, open late... basically, Foxtrot is the cat's pajamas. Highly recommend!

I think there is a bit of an identity crisis with this place. Is it a bar ? Or is it a restaurant ? Went here for the first time and was super glad that we could bring our small dog with us to dinner. The decor is classic warehouse style and dim lighting but the music was far too loud for an enjoyable evening with friends. Staff are lovely but the service was very slow and it took ages to get our drinks and orders and then there was little follow up towards the end. The crudo and carrots were my two favourites but the rest was pretty average. The charcuterie plate was nothing but a few cold cuts with some flatbread. It was a bit disappointing for what they charge for it. The cocktails I had were ok but nothing special. The menu needs a few more bits in my opinion but overall the food was lacking imagination. I was hoping for a great experience but the slow service with the loud music meant we could barely hear the conversation and didn’t enjoy the evening as we had hoped.

This gorgeous speakeasy bar is a delightful find. Accidentally stumbled in few months ago & loved the vibe. Daniel (as we call him Dan the man) is an expert mixolgist & part of the whole experience. Been here several times and have had a great time. The wine list is extensive with exclusive wines that I haven’t been able to find anywhere else. The owner, James has created a space that is welcoming and warm, with intentional design that is perfect for a mid week happy hour or a special occasion. The food is sensational and the cocktails designed by Daniel always hit the spot. No matter who’s making your drink you’re guaranteed an exceptional experience. Their bar staff Neo delivers exceptionally consistent drinks at a level and class you can’t find anywhere else in Crows Nest. This is a must visit on a night out.

A quality & consistent late night venue for a quiet or more serious drink! We are regulars at this venue often after to cap off our night after being elsewhere. Fun & friendly service, great cocktails & fresh juices made onsite. Well worth a visit

Came here for a birthday celebration with a small group, wasn’t sure what to expect but the food was spectacular the steak was outstanding, their drinks were well balanced and the atmosphere is lovely- would recommend for anyone looking for something special

Have been here twice with friends and in both cases, could not fault the food, drinks and, above all, the wonderful service from Jimmy. It’s so hard to find places these days that provide genuine and friendly service, along with delicious food, and this is where the Foxtrot excels. Will definitely be back again soon.

I've been going to The Foxtrot for over a decade now and it never disappoints. The cocktails are sublime, the bar staff are super cute and the vibes are always on point. Perfect date night venue with it's cosy atmosphere. Love, love, love this place!

I have been coming to The Foxtrot for the last 5 or 6 years and it's always a good time. James the owner has done an amazing job on both the food and drinks menu. For a cocktail bar the food is better then some restaurants. Good date night, catch up with friends, Xmas party, hens or bucks night . Good time will be had by all

Cannot recommend this place enough. Not only is the service amazing, but the food was some of the best I've had dining out - especially the kingfish. Atmosphere is lovely - beautifully lit, cosy fire and great music. Would definitely return when visiting Sydney!

A neighbourhood gem!

Have ducked in here for drinks before but was super keen to go back and try their food. Well worth it. The best vibe in any bar this side of the bridge. Moody and cosy. The staff really make this place too. Always so friendly and helpful. Food was absolutely delicious and the wine recommendation was spot on.

Great little gem in Crows Nest, with a real log fire that adds to the ambience. Great food and cocktails with excellent service. We will definitely come back.

We were so lucky to get a table next to the fireplace. The atmosphere was absolutely amazing and so were the wines and cocktails.

James is passionate about his business & seamlessly organised everything from start to finish ensuring my 50th was an incredible memory!!! He organised the delicious food, lovely drinks🍸🍷 , excellent DJ 💃, fantastic cake 🎂, whilst ensuring myself & all guests were having a brilliant time!!!

We went to The Foxtrot for my wife's birthday and everything worked perfectly. James has reserved us a nice private area and was great during the planning and on the day. We couldn't ask for more, the food was really delicious and everyone loved it, the service was excellent and the atmosphere nice, cozy and interesting, much better than all the other more anonymous places in the area. We would definitely go back for dinner or for a nice drink near the fire!

Lovely cocktails - bar staff and waitress were amazing with their service and atmosphere. Unfortunately we made the “wrong” attempt to ask if any restaurants in the area were good (as we don’t know the area). We received very unwelcoming and snarky responses from the owner :(

We held our 50th Birthday Party at The Foxtrot a few weeks ago. James and his amazing crew took great care of my 80+ guests. The food was excellent and the service was exceptional. Everyone commented on the fantastic venue, the food, the staff. Every wish was accommodated and to be honest we left the organisation entirely to James, from the run sheet of events like when to make speeches to the Fabulous cake and when to start the Dancing! I am so glad we chose this venue over the tired typical RSL or stuffy club where you do not get value for your money. We’re already planning for our next event, 25th Anniversary in a couple of years! Thank you James and team for making our event a memorable one!

The Foxtrot was a great find! It's dark and cavernous, which is kinda moody. The charismatic server let us know some history of the building, including that it was a brothel in a previous life. Food was good quality but a bit expensive. We had the weekly special - deliciously charred and rare. I would recommend this place for couples eluding the main drag, or small groups for event hire. The spaces look great.

Great service and quality of food and drink to match

The steak is absolutely perfection. The food is always fresh and delicious too! Wednesday steak nights are so sweet for a date, with some nice live music and incredible atmosphere. I highly recommend the Foxtrot for date nights.

I organised a school reunion for 30 people at The Foxtrot last night. It was such a perfect night. Everyone enjoyed themselves so much and commented on how great the venue was. Staff at the bar and wait staff were super friendly. James the owner was so great to deal with, he was very welcoming and really cares about everyone having a great time. Such a great vibe in this place. I always love coming here!!! PS James, I loved the music at the end of the night when the wedding party came in! So much fun.

James was really helpful when we were planning it and on the night it was all perfect with lovely food, staff, atmosphere and drinks. Everyone had a great time and many intend to come back. You cannot go past James, Lauren, Felix and the lovely Foxtrot crew. I had the distinct pleasure of holding my 40th birthday with 75 friends at Foxtrot and from the outset, James promised to throw a party with minimal fuss and maximum fun. And oh they delivered. Sumptuous canapes that got around to every guest, warm hospitality and attentive staff made a milestone birthday evening a triumph to remember. Thank you team and see you again!

And as a crowie local, would defs foxtrot my way back for a few when emotions are enriching, happiness is prospecting or anxiety is approaching. Love these kinds local bars, making crowie such an attractive suburb in Syd!

I organized a function at The Foxtrot and I could not be happier. Everyone was raving. James is super professional and organized and made it all very easy. The food and cocktails were incredible and really brilliant vibe from the space and staff. I can't wait to go back for the beef tartare !

James was so hospitable! He mentioned that in the 6 years he’s owned the place he’s had 35 people couples with two kids come back and tell him they had their first date here. The food is amazing and the cocktails are to die for. Definitely recommend! 100% book for dinner but walk ins for drinks after 11 always welcome :)

James and the team make dinner and drinks such a friendly affair. The chips with vinegar and the pate with baguette was divine. Try the old fashioned with gospel rye whiskey. They know what they are doing. No photos this time, but promise to remedy this soon! Keep up the great work team foxtrot!

Sublime Cocktails ✔️ Beautiful Wine ✔️ Stunning Food ✔️ Great Atmosphere ✔️ Real Fireplace - bonus ✔️ Everything was just simply amazing. Thank you to James for creating such a wonderful venue and ensuring we had a lovely evening, as always his service was top notch. We will be back for sure. Edit: we did return and it was even better than our first visit. We did not think that this was possible. Bravo James & Lauren...the perfect team have created the best restaurant/bar in Crows Nest...hands down. They have their own veggie garden out the back and Lauren's focaccia is to die for and try any of the steaks as they are the best that you will find in Crows Nest. The food not only tastes good but looks good! Forget about the other much overpriced and overhyped 'fine' diners in the area. The Foxtrot has a CBD vibe but is luckily walking distance from home and is the place to be in the Lower North Shore.

The food was nothing short of phenomenal, with one of the finest steaks I've had the pleasure of savouring in Sydney. To top it off, their Negroni stands as one of the city's best. The Foxtrot continues to deliver exceptional culinary and mixological experiences, making it an essential stop for those seeking both gastronomic and libationary delights.

What an excellent surprise. What a great small bar with brilliant service. Didn’t love the music but it wasn’t too intrusive.

A real transformation from where it was a few years ago to the best bar that we need to have in crows nest. Cocktail game is up from its heyday, James is the perfect host and we’ve now got great food, and not just bar food, serving late into the evening. Foxtrot has become the bar that crows nest deserved but never managed to deliver.

Wow. What a surprise. The welcome and the service from the foxtrot is second to none. The owner works the floor beautifully, pays attention to detail but does not intrude. Service and drinks second to none. Very much so baxters inn vibes but it’s better. Wish you all the best for the future, no longer will I be travelling to the city knowing I have the foxtrot up the road!

Outstanding venue, best cocktails on the north shore. Had a great atmosphere on a Saturday night with dj Jamie playing. The team of Jerome, Simon, Luke, Jordan and Rex make you feel well looked after and are always up for a friendly chat, while the passion and energy of James and Lauren really set the tone for what the venue is all about. To sum up, I have never considered committing murder more than when I found out my friends had drank my Finders gin martini when I went to the bathroom. hell yeah

Absolutely love it every time. The drinks are amazing (of course) and the food is the best you’ll get from any cocktail bar in Sydney (and better than most restaurants!) The service is always above and beyond, and the attention to detail here is what makes this place absolutely worthy of 5 stars. An absolute hidden gem, there should be more places that strive to be as good as the Foxtrot.
