Can never fault this place right from breakfast, happy hour, staff

There were few waiters for the number of patrons making service slow but the meal was very well cooked and presented. The coffee was also good.

Visited the Avenue Restaurant for dinner last night. It was a mixed experience due to a few factors. We decided to visit based on the current kids eat free special during the school holidays. The negatives are as follows. The customer service was slow, we even had to wait for a menu once we were seated. We requested the kids meal to come out with the mains however were delivered before we had even received our entrees. We had to rush our meals as the kids had already finished. What made it worse was the food took a long time to come out. Over an hour before we had received our mains. Entree portions were also small compared to the prices. Now onto the positives, bar the scallops the food was delicious. We had the beef cheeks, scallops and two of the main chicken dishes. The kids meals were also reasonable. Happy hours drinks are a positive and at a great price and range. It is a shame that the beautiful food is outweighed by the negatives of the experience. With these factors addressed it could bring the restaurant up to the expected standard that aligns with the prices charged.

Nice place. The rooms need an update Plenty of outside parking. Showers are hot and great water pressure. Staff were all good. Hotel Food was ok to good. The buffet breakfast was fine. Lots of choices. Would stay again

Nice hotel with a grand feeling! Restaurant & bar is perfect for in-house stays. Happy each daily🍻, great sized menu for dinner + buffet or continental breakfasts available daily. I will happily stay & eat here again - central to the city

I stopped here for a quick, light lunch. The service was very prompt and the meal was healthy and tasty.

Slack bar staff. 10 minutes to make 2 mai tais. Tables uncleared & dirty. Unprepared wait staff. Didn't know soup of the day. B- team in the kitchen. Pork chop overcooked & tough, curry could have been from a supermarket. $75 for a bottle of NV Pirie!? Seriously? We will never be back. Suggestions: stop serving dinner; sandwiches only for lunch; poached eggs on toast only for breakfast. Hire some competent staff. Get some comfortable chairs. Install some ambience. You are a Grand Chancellor! Lift your standards people.

All you can eat breaky.delious. The round dome lids annoying, heavy,noisy when dropped, moving and twisting ,.. Staff need to keep check on Dish volume, and coffee machine for fullness

Reasonably priced and food was of good quality. Service was a bit slow but ok… it felt worth it in the end.

The food was lovely, though would have been nice to be told what we were getting. The service was near none existent we had eaten half our high tea before we even got our tea order in.

I had ordered uber eats for lunch and had a call from the restaurant saying my order was ready but they were waiting on the uber driver, I was really please that they had called to let me know. I called the uber and he said he was doing other deliveries and it could be a while so I said to cancel my delivery and I'll just pick it up myself because it was going to end up being an hour or more from when I ordered it , so I went to picked up my food and the staff were amazing and they even offered to compensate me a bottle of wine or beverage or food even though it was at no fault of their own and they had done everything right !! Best customer service experience you could ever ask for, went absolutely above and beyond

Ordered the fish and chips. The fish tasted like the frozen packets fish that you can fry. Chips were ok and staff were friendly.

Fantastic service and staff

Dined in for breakfast and dinner - breakfast was ok but it does annoy me that you have to pay for the barista coffee. The dinner menu was too limiting and the market fish of the day and everyday! was salmon despite salmon already being on the menu. Staff were lovely. Service was efficient.

The menu and quality of the meals were nice but nothing more than a pub meal to be honest. The size of the main course was tiny compared to the starter. Not including my beer as the drink for my 2 course meal ( they used a cheaper soft drink that was ordered by someone else in our group) was this so you could make an extra $3 ? Wow almost $200 for 4 people's meals and you run a business like this. Please do something about your coffee machine at the buffet breakfast the one you have is terrible.

Lovely atmosphere great place to catch up with friends

The meal was lovely 2 course choice and a glass of nice Victorian wine $ 45 we then had a dessert each. Service was friendly and efficient. Dining room relaxed and just a nice atmosphere. Definitely revisit as it was a very pleasant evening.

Had a very average overpriced meal. Service was good. However if your going to charge those sort of prices you need to bring the restaurant decor and the menu up to a much higher standard.

2 hrs for an entree... that was bread.. 40 minutes after receiving main .. that was half cold. Drink orders taken and not received. Poor attitude of staff. Very disappointed

The room was fantastic, wasn't happy with the shower screen only half closed the water was coming out of the shower. There was no fan in the shower room as well. The bed was comfortable and fantastic.The only thing I was very disappointed was your restaurant, the food was very very very poorly not professional. It tasted like the food was reheated,not fresh at all.
