I went to eat... Delicious.

Nothing to fancy, but this old hotel, with a great outdoor area is so pleasant. You look out at the sunset (sure the odd train rumbles by) and enjoy reasonably priced drinks. My steak was good (pub level) and the calamari very good, crispy coating, and cooked just right.

Burger was amazing!

Great spot up in the Blue mountains

This used to be our favourite pub for meals and ambience. The last two meals I’ve had there have been very disappointing. A few weeks ago I had a chicken schnitzel (which is usually very nice) but on that occasion the mushroom sauce was not given with the meal and I had to request it again but that was nothin compared to the dry, dirt tasting coleslaw which had no dressing in it whatsoever. After speaking to the waitress she was kind enough to bring a dressed green salad. The schnitzel itself was way too thick, overcooked and dry. Today we decided to play it safe and go with the pizzas, which we’ve had many times before. Well … my eggplant vegetarian pizza was totally tasteless, no seasoning at all, minimal sauce and just extremely bland. My husband’s meat lover pizza, which I also had a piece of, wasn’t any better. Picture blended up meat, thrown on with some tomatoey sauce. Tasted and looked like bolognaise. The meat wasn’t defined or varied and it was a major disappointment. Could have easily made better pizzas myself. These were obviously prepared by an amateur, inexperienced chef. Hate to say it, but doubt we will be returning.

Grabbed a couple beers & a feed, Steak, Chips. Food was nice & filling. Staff friendly

Good food well presented. The pizza is well cooked and the ingredients are suitable for a neapolitan pizza

Am a local and have been to the Alexandra quite often. The meals have always been good, but this Australia Day went there and very disappointed. The meals came to us cold, the salad was just ok, the steak was not nice at all, best thing was the potato mash, even if just barely warm. There was a lady singing and she was fantastic. Unfortunately, won’t be coming back in a hurry.

Hands down the best wood fire pizza I've had, Margherita to die for. Incredible !!!!

Stayed nearby for a 2 night stay, and went to the Alexandra Hotel for dinner both nights. We were impressed with the quality, value, service and also the beer garden setting. The nightly specials were great, we had the chicken schnitzel and the rump steak. The rump was one of the best pieces of meat I have ever eaten ! Absolutely delicious. Overall, a lovely, relaxing place to dine, and the food, service and staff were great.

Went for dinner and it was lovely. Excellent service and food. Definitely recommend

Below average.

Stopped in for dinner, awesome place, great staff, very friendly local pub. Food was fantastic, highly recommended, well worth a visit. Thankyou ☺️

Lost a lot of charm and the cosy atmosphere, it used to have, because of renovations some things should be left alone.....

Pub and food good, nice beer garden and friendly staff

Great place to just chill in the blue mountains

Lunch ordered a classic Snitzel chips gravey. Worst snitzel ever. Dry and over cooked. Chip were cold a dry. Awful. Worst told the guy who picked up plate he looked at me like I was a2 headed monster. Made the experience awful

This is a great Australian pub with a perfect mix of atmosphere, space and quality food and drink. It has survived the 'being loved to death' that the rest of the blue mountains are enduring!

A staff member was quite rude and disrespectful to my mother on her 60th birthday. Despite the hundreds of dollars we spent on dinner, and the fact that we did not request the restaurant serve the cake we brought, this staff member very passive aggressively spoke to my mother in front of everyone and accused her of trying to scam the business out of a cakeage fee. When my mother explained that she wasn't aware of the cakeage fee and was more than happy to pay it, the staff member said not to worry about it. This woman was clearly having a bad day and felt the need to take it out on my family. I don't think we'll be coming for dinner here again.

Our dinner was so delicious we returned the next evening. Wonderful steak and chips. So simple yet so easy to stuff up! Great service, good ambience, and reasonable wine list. Thank you

Do NOT stay here if you're doing the new Grand Cliff Top Walk over a weekend. This place is definitely a pub first, hotel second. There's loud live music Saturday nights until 1am, then a bunch of people talking outside after. Great music and sounds like a great time on a Saturday night, but not if you've walked 22k steps and wanted to get a good early night's sleep for another 25k steps the next day... We even brought ear plugs, but it doesn't block bass, I could still make out every song being played, as well as hear the screaming/singing patrons. This place would probably be fine on Mon-Thurs, but avoid Saturday. It's the cheapest accommodation in Leura on a Saturday for a reason. Just shell out for quieter accommodation if you're hiking... it'll be worth it. Rooms are fine, shared toilets are a bit annoying but still clean and mostly functional (the bathroom lights might take like 10 seconds to turn on). Would not stay again on a Saturday.

Five stars for everything. Quality of food, friendliness and efficiency of staff, location, cleanliness, view, beer garden, space, layout, you name it, bloody marvellous and fully five star pub. We’ll be back and next time we’ll stay over.

Staff and patrons were friendly. Had a cold beer after exploring the Blue Mountains all day and returned the following day for Melbourne Cup. Ordered entrees to nibble on during the day and they were great value and good servings. A great pub for families with indoor and outdoor seating options.

Service was great, super lovely woman (didn’t grab name) who was very accommodating for our two young children. The only negative was my wife’s chicken schnitzel was way too overcooked and much of it inedible, she did her best to eat around the chewy, burnt areas of the schnitzel, but sadly she walked away pretty dissatisfied with her meal. The pork belly was great, and so was the kids Spaghetti Bolognese. Maybe avoid the schnitzel and you’ll probably be fine.

I took a burger last time I was there and I like that with a good portion of chips of course. They have billiard and karaoke or dj sometimes in the weekend.

Sad, Told our seat was No. 6 find it over there. To order our food ,No waitress. We had to order at the Station.. Entrees beginning @ $21..Mains at $30 Odd.dollars. Had to go to the main station to buy a bottle of wine..worth $47.00 . Sorry after spending that much money. Thought I may have had a waitress. !!! Also you pay before you eat...Amazing. who ever runs it are obnoxious. .

Been waaaay too long since my last visit & sooo pleased I came back. Beautiful lunch for less than $30 & exquisite spots in the sunshine to have drinks. I haven’t stayed here overnight b4 but the site shows great rooms for $160 a night! Putting staying here on my list. It’s skipping distance from the train station so perfect for those of us who don’t drive. It’s a truly lovely, big old pub - just divine 😘 x

Proper old school pub

What every pub should be. The building has such a character with lots of little spaces to enjoy. The staff are great and the service is quick. We visited for three dinners in a row during our weekend in town!

Recently had lunch at the Alexandra Hotel Leura. It is conveniently located next to the train station. It was a sunny day, so we sat in the beer garden, very relaxing. There were plenty if seats in both the restaurant and bar area. We tried the fish stew, it was delicious. Already looking forward to my next visit.

Great wood fired pizza

This place has been on my bucket list for many years. I finally went today with my grandchildren. They had the Monday all-day special of chicken schnitzel and I ordered the meatlovers pizza. They just need to add Diane sauce to the list. I wish I didn't live so far away! I'll be adding this place to my list of places to go when I travel through the mountains.

Best Feed I've had in a While, went here with family, atmosphere is old school and comfortable

Staff and locals alike especially Deb I think she must be the boss lady just a great environment to spend a few hours watching football talking having fun definitely will be back next time we're back on the Sunshine Coast

We ate lunch here only, did not stay at the hotel. We had almost finished our meals and 2 of our group still hadn’t received their meals, there were only 9 of us. I wouldn’t rave about the food.

Lovely spot for lunch, very welcoming to puppy dogs.

Open late Good times Good beer

Daniel and crew were great. Felt very welcome from the first interaction. Great food, cold beer what more could we want?

Nice meals, reasonably priced. My only criticism is the side of sauce with my snitty was way too small. Other than that no complaints. We'll be back

Loved our recent meals on a busy Sunday lunch. Our group of 8 was so well looked after by all the staff, and the food was delicious. A great selection of huge meals, including plenty of vegetarian options, meant everyone in our party was happy. The space is gorgeous and the beer garden would be stunning on a spring day. The 2 women running the show on our visit were so chatty and hilarious and their energy was contagious. We can't wait to return.

Great location, food, service and atmosphere.

Lovely vibe, beautiful place. Food was delicious but took 55 mins to come. Again, not really a problem except we were told repeatedly we only had a 90 min booking. Once food arrived, waitress hovered around, and reluctantly took our desert orders. She only reappeared to enquire when we were leaving... no desert at that point. We laughed this off, but it was pretty bad. If you're going to force guests out in 90 mins, get your food served in time.

It's a lovely pub. Friendly staff, dog friendly, and the food was beautiful. I love it, and I will return.

We stopped off for lunch on Coach trip heading back to Sydney....food and service were great...quite easy to get to if doing a train trip to the Blue Mountains area

Grossly Overpriced for minuscule steak sandwich $30 and we were asked to come back in 4 minutes to order as the kitchen staff get cranky if the bar staff put orders through too early.

Dined with my family inc 3 young children. The service was welcoming and attentive. The team were very busy but somehow managed to make it all flow. Thank you! For a great experience. The food was delicious, we had Woodfired pizza, pub classics, kids meals, and the fish pot. All were spot on! Restaurant ambiance very comfortable. Will surely be back, whether with family and romantic getaway. Highly recommend! We didn’t stay in the hotel, so can’t really comment on that.

Dog friendly inside the sports bar! Great hotel to escape the cold.

We had Christmas in July lunch yesterday. First up the food was great, no complaints. Two couples, paid separately at the bar, mentioned the table number. 20 minutes later one of the staff told us if we wanted food we would have to pay at the bar. We told her we had paid 20 minutes ago. Meals arrived for 2 people. Hello there are 4 of us. More meals arrived. When two desserts arrived we advised our friends to start as ours should arrive soon. When they did not we enquired about them and were told each dessert was for 2 people. It does not mention this on the menu. As stated absolutely no complaints about the food but the communications is a big problem.

Had just a whiskey there and that was nice

Marvellous dining experience. I trusted the reviews here and they were spot on. The Barramundi, prawn pizza, salt and pepper squid and rhubarb and pear dessert were all delectable. Great ambience too with the abundant fireplaces. Anyone from Sydney should get here!

Pub with atmosphere Great to see the front bar with a few friendly locals Then out the back the fireplace and dining A true old pub that really tries to be a bit of everything for everyone. Great news is they do it. The Christmas Dinner was everything you’d want on a cold July night and made the trek up the mountain all that better Friendly staff that truly do seem to care Pulled up a chair by the fire enjoyed the history of the place Stay in the room upstairs , it’s an old pub that’s what they are but if you look for character, you’ll find it, can be noisy but hey that’s the character No doubt, see you again soon Appreciate the way you made us feel welcome cheers guys

They were short-staffed, but still doing everything they could. Would just get the pizza next time - other food took a while.

A lovely historic, pub with a lovely atmosphere, good pub food menu and good service. I would recommend a visit.

I recently dropped in for the Christmas in July meal. It was AMAZING! The food (in huge quantities), the staff - everything was perfect. Will be back again - might even make it an annual event. :-)

Great food and service

Fantastic menu. Visited two nights in a row during recent stay in area. Lovely warm venue and excellent service. Everything on the menu we tried was great. Meat lovers pizza is the best I have ever had.

Dined in for dinner and the barramundi was absolutely sensational. Beautiful crispy skin with a flavour bomb selection of vegetables. My son also loved his steak. The best meal we had on our holiday!

As a local, I had been a frequent patron for the pizzas until 2 years ago when the menu changed and they went from authentic Italian wood fired pizzas to the kebab shop variety. I returned this week to see if anything had changed and unfortunately justice is not being done to that big wood fired oven. For the love of pizzas, do yourselves a favour and switch to real mozzarella instead of processed shredded cheese for starters.

I had a great time, until I walked into the Alexandra hotel Service bar staff were totally unprofessional and rude to customers Wait times were ridiculous even when restaurant was not busy, food came out at random times leaving people without food while others were eating Overall best thing about this place was the exit

Perfect Sunday! super cosy - great atmosphere, service, food and tap beer. Highly recommend.

Had a meal. Didn't stay in rooms. Staff are very helpful and friendly. The atmosphere is very relaxing. Beer is cold Meals are great. Well made and presented. Worth a visit

Enjoyed lunch with friends on a rainy day. Good pub food and wine selection and a nice view over the valley.

Just a good pub with decent food, good beer and a bit of atmosphere

This is the first time I've been back to the Alex after the change in ownership & I will not be back. Our booking was mothers day lunch & with two coeliacs in the family, we called ahead to ask about the menu- we were assured that they could accommodate. When ordering, the waitress was incredibly rude, stating she couldn't be sure they would even had a gluten free bun for a child's meal & I would just have to see 'what we got when it came out'. I also asked for the fries to be seperated as they are not gluten free. This was an impossible request & I was told the kitchen was too busy to do this & she also cannot guarantee the meal would be gluten free as 'there is gluten everywhere in there.' While I am not new to cross contamination, I've never been at a respectable venue that has blatantly disregarded food intolerance or dietary needs, let alone a disease that reacts to certain grains like coeliac disease. When ordering the ice cream for the child, I also wanted to confirm it was gluten free (I was told over the phone it was.) The same waitress told me it wasn't. She initially refused to ask the kitchen for me though she eventually did. She hurried back & said it was not gluten free. I asked to check the label, feeling the entire time that I was being a bother, judging by her rude response to each question I asked. Upon checking the label myself, which was gluten free declared in large letters, I showed her & the response was minimal. Such disregard for customer service & a concerning lack of care when it came to food knowledge & preparation. What shameful service!

Absolutely useless bartender that was more interested in getting a leg over the female bar staff than serving customers waiting. When finally served, had to repeat everything twice as his most common response was WOT?" accompanied with a blank look like he wasnt sure if he shat himself or not."

Absolutely fabulous. We booked for dinner on a Saturday night as well as their Mother's Day lunch special the next day. Great food, great staff, generous and well priced portions, relaxing, drama free, easy parking and beautiful views. Staff were warm, friendly, helpful and generous and provided the kids with coloured pencils as soon as we sat down. I am so glad we chose this venue for their Mother's Day special. Thank you for your hospitality. We will be back for sure.

Food, service and atmosphere is perfect!

A great spot to stop for lunch. Dogs are allowed in the courtyard and the sports bar. Food is delicious. Very prompt service.

Great old school pub with log fire. You need to drive in from the east heading west

Lunch with friends

28/04/24 Ordered Pub Steak which was cooked exactly as requested. Also ordered a pizza with extra toppings, OMGOSH pizza was delish. Prices are normal pub prices & not over priced like a lot in a tourist area. Staff were amazing & So friendly. If they weren't sure on something I asked like directions or where somewhere was (as i am not a local or knowing the area), then they went and asked another staff member. Had a lovely chat with two of the staff. Thank you so very much for your genuinely kind hospitality, amazing food & for your safe directions on how to return back into Leura

Intentionally rude bar staff. The tall male with back hair treats the place like his home (in a bad way), and if he decides he doesn't like you he will make it known to you and your company. He seems to enjoy making snarky comments, making you wait for no reason, and making up rules to make your stay less comfortable. This was consistent over several visits, and judging by the other reviews, it's not just me. He is not suitable for customer service. Disappointing as the rest of the staff are lovely, friendly, and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The food is great too, especially the Italian meals.

Barramundi was good Prawn pizza was plain, top up with 6 prawns and just tomato sauce…

Friends organised the most wonderful 60th birthday party for me for 22 peeps. Food and location wonderful. We arrived at 6pm, food served at 7.15pm and sadly we were thrown out by 8pm. Nobody told us the table had to be returned as was also booked for 8pm. Couldn't grab a dessert nor a nightcap!! The manager was rude to my dear friends and told them he was 'over us' . We spent over $600 in meals plus bar tab. I reckon our party spent over $1000 without trouble or any complaints . Is this how you treat loyal and local patrons? Hire more staff on known busy nights. Still had a great time and am very grateful to my friends. Hate to see them so upset by the horrible way they were treated. Lift your game!! Treat people as u would like to be treated. Hospitality at its worst!!

I booked for a large group to celebrate a special birthday. On arrival staff lovely and said to order from them at the table. We followed what told and ordered when wait staff came to table. There was a long wait for the food to come out which didn’t bother us as we were chatting and enjoying our get together. Then at 7:45 as we had just finished our mains we were told we needed to leave as the table was booked for another party. We tried to gather ourselves together and organise the payment gathering cash for less cards. Went to the counter and as the cash was being counted the manager rudely said I’ve had enough of this we are busy we aren’t doing this. I said don’t forget this voucher and he said no no voucher I’m over it. He walked off so I replaced money with the voucher and we sorted it and left. He ruined the end of the night and was extremely rude to us and his staff. To add we were NEVER informed we needed to vacate by 8pm.

22 of us came for Dinner tonight 19/4/24 to Celebrate a Friends 60th We arrived at 6.00pm, ordered at 6.30pm, food came out at 7.15pm, couldn’t order coffee or desserts as we were told to leave at 8.00pm WERE NOT TOLD IN ADVANCE WE HAD TO LEAVE AT 8.00pm And then the rude man at the register was losing it as poor Lady was trying to count up our monies, kept saying “ We are Busy “, can’t be doing split bills, mind you our bill was $600 plus drinks Well I can tell you the 22 of us are Locals and we won’t be back, and will definitely be telling all our Friends. Thankyou Rude Man for making Our Friends 60th So Memorable Very Unhappy Customer . Staff were Wonderful Food was Great But I have No nice Words for that RUDE MAN

We had a lovely meal, best vegetarian lasagne I've had! They needed more staff.

WARNING ALL COELIACS! I was out for dinner and ordered a burger with a gluten free bun (as advertised). Once it arrived I was quite sceptical that it was gluten free due to the way it looked. The waiter confirmed it was gluten free, and said that the kitchen confirmed this as well. After taking a large bite a man came over and said he would take it back as he wasn’t convinced it was gluten free (we were later told that this was the owner). After waiting another 10 minutes I received my gluten free burger (which was noticeably very different to the normal bun). The owner apologised and used the excuse that the kitchen staff were just too busy. He also displayed no genuine understanding or empathy towards coeliac as a disease, stating that it is just an intolerance. As we attempted to complain and explain the effects of having eaten a gluten bun he proceeded to make comments that if he was gluten free he wouldn’t go and order food at a pub! I went on to tell him I was actually coeliac meaning I’m allergic and not intolerant, he then went on to say “each to their own”. Essentially, it was an attempt to deflect a pretty major mistake inferring that it was my fault because I have an allergy and shouldn’t have ordered food in the first place. This 1 star reflection has nothing to do with the other staff members at all, especially a waitress who was very helpful and understanding.

Great food in Bistro.. Good service

Excellent pizzas and lovely terrace
