I stayed here for 2 nights and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Check in was smooth and quick and the dining experience was nice and quick. Rooms are quiet, private and spacious with a spectacular view of the bridge and the mountain. The only thing was that (as I’m a light sleeper), I had to move my bed from under the window to across to the other side of the room as I could feel/ hear the stereo downstairs underneath me (I am assuming it was the chef’s which is his right 😃, plus I was in room 20; right above it) was so loud. It felt a bit stuffy as there wasn’t a heat pump/cooler in the room except for a small heater on the floor as it was quite a hot day and night. Would go back though as it was still comfortable! 🙏 Thank you

Fantastic local pub with great amenities, awesome service and good food. Pool tables now accept card ($2 per game) and the smokers area has to have the nicest view I've ever seen for one.

Have not been to this pub for many years so decided to have dinner there with a friend mid week. I ordered a rump steak and after a long wait it was served overdone, tough and cold. I still felt hungry so ordered an old fashioned banana split. Imagine my surprise & shock when it arrived served on a dinner plate with the banana still in its skin covered with cream & chocolate sauce. My goodness I can't believe that any kitchen in the world would serve a banana split with an unpealed banana. Will definitely not be recommending the Beltana for a meal anytime soon.

Had dinner here for my dad’s birthday, the meals were really slow to come out and they weren’t busy at all. We had 3 people order steak they were all cold and not cook they way they had asked, the rest of the meals were just ok. I won’t be going back there which is sad cause have been going for years, would not recommend at all

Good counter meals for an excellent price (restaurant side). Nice view of the bridge. Affordable booze too. The bar manager, Andrew, worked very hard and was very personable - what a legend. Bit of gaming but possible to ignore.

The food was ok when it arrived, restaurant was quite pleasant but the service was woeful. Meals took 53 minutes to arrive and there was no one in the restaurant, quiet Wednesday night. There was no communication from staff as to meal updates, or if they could assist

I have been coming to the Beltana (the belt) for more than 20 years the service has always been great! UNTIL RECENTLY for the most part the staff are great although... There is a young man with a bald head, I think named Clint...? Who definitely seems to think he owns the place. Have seen him be rude to multiple people, including me. When I asked other staff if he was the owner or manager they responded with (No not at all! But he thinks he is!) he is the only reason for the low star rating!!! He definitely needs to be fired and replaced with a more customer focused person!

Always enjoy a counter meal at the bar or a quieter meal in the bistro. Stunning views of the water, the bridge and the mountain, day or night is nice to sit and relax. Perfect for a sunny arvo. Staff are always friendly and welcoming. Can't comment on the accommodation because I haven't stayed there.

Service and food was pretty good however we waited a long time for meals, booking was at 6pm and left after 8 pm. Myself and my children were a bit over it by that stage.

I had the $20 lunch deal here and not only was the service fantastic, but the food was excellent and great value as well. The salt and pepper squid was to die for and the pot pie was exactly what we needed on a cold, rainy day.

A friend lives nearby and suggested we give the Beltana a try for a meal. Parking seems to be limited since I got lucky that someone was leaving as I arrived. Chances are you'll most likely end up on the street if you go at peak times like dinner. Was greeted by very friendly staff. I decided to go for the crafted Ginger Beer (pint) and try something a bit different than the usual parmie so tried the Fried Chicken & Chimichurri with chips and salad. This all came to $35+ with the chicken being juicy, tender and delicious, as was the rest of the food. The place is neat, clean and tidy, the service very good and is all wrapped in a nice atmosphere. Definitely family friendly.

This used to be one of my all-time favourite places to drop by when I lived in Tasmania. Unfortunately, the attitude of one of the bar staff was a huge letdown. If you don't like working there, find another job. The other bar staff (Jacob, I think) was fantastic, very friendly. The food was extremely disappointing, the chips were cold, and the scallops were the size of garden peas. Definitely not the old Beltana that it used to be.

The burgers are next level good. Highly recommended!!!

Tried a counter meal for the first time. Great food and a good price. Steak cooked perfectly, good flavours. Staff friendly. The corn ribs were my favourite. The suid was really nicely cooked.

Close to the quaint village of lindisfarne, yet 5 minutes drive from Hobart Town. I have only been here for food, drink, play on the games, and the odd trivia when that was going. But it's a good little local, friendly and open to all.

Delicious menu, great food for quality and value.

First time we had been there in over 20 years and had a great meal of scallops. Ordered the small serve but still got 9 decent sized and well cooked scallops. This would be a full serve at other places! The chips were super crunchy and well seasoned, the salad needs a bit of work...leaves, carrot and onion...but the tasty dressing made up for it. Will be back.

Food was good pub food, nothing exciting. it wasn't flat out busy and yet the server almost took our order to the wrong table twice.

Staff were under the pump but still managed to have a bit of fun with the patrons .

$20 gets you a decent sized Parmy with chips and salad. Nice place to sit with the afternoon sun and views of the river and mountain.

Great hotel restaurant, been a few times now, food and service always spot on. The staff were amazing with our daughter too.

Dinner at the Beltana was awful. Ordered scallops that were so small, extremely salty, and very few chips, and very oily salad. the other was calamary with coleslaw, received a very oily salad instead. Bar service poor.

Went here for dinner with partner and friend I had surf and turf absolutely delicious. partner and friend had garlic prawns chips and salad again absolutely delicious. Service was amazing pricing was very good meals were a plenty. Thank you to the barman/waiter your service and help was impeccable. Highly recommend this tavern.

I'm a local out for tea. The room was the right temperature / the wait time was acceptable / the view was nice / the food was A1 and the prices?.... 10 outta 10! Cheapest prices i can find and for such awesome food makes the Beltana Hotel great value. In our time of rising costs makes it an obvious choice for everyone. 10 outta 10 guys.... i loved it and will be back 😍

First time fir taco Tuesday. As a vegetarian, it was nice to have a taco, especially for us. However, I would suggest that the collie be chopped more and not so much large florets. Good value, especially locals Mondays. $15 selected mains. Definitely go again.

Our large family had a midday meal, and whilst we found the service was polite and friendly the meals were less than average. My roast pork meal was cold and tasteless. My wife's vegetables (brocolli) were rock hard and uneatable. It doesn't take much to provide a good roast, hence our disappointment.

Attended the Beltana for a meal this evening. We haven’t been there for quite a while, but wow, what a downgrade in the bistro…. Sat down with the menus and was told to order at the bar, no longer table service, which wasn’t too bad. Looked through the menu to discover that the whole style of meals had changed. The menu has gone from an array of options that would make your mouth water, to just a regular pub style menu, no specials were offered. Finally decided on 2 entrees and 2 mains. Went to the bar to order. Ordered drinks while we were ordering our food and was given the wrong drink, asked for a replacement. Waited over half an hour for the entrees, and when they did arrive, only 1 came out. Waited a few minutes, and when the other entree didn’t arrive, I went to the bar to ask if it was coming. I was told that I hadn’t ordered the other starter, which I very well had. I then said that I would like the other entree. After I had just paid for the missed entree, the staff came from the kitchen with our mains. We hadn’t even started the first entree that we had ordered and they were sending our mains already, let alone not getting the second entree that had been missed the first time. After all of that, we decided to cancel all our food and get a refund. We paid for the first entree which we ate before leaving. We were extremely disappointed. The couple who were sitting at the table beside us were also complaining to each other about the meals that they had received. We would not return, and were highly disappointed in the downgrade in service and quality of the food

Lovely local night meal of crispy skin salmon with chips and salad and cut price glass of wine. We had an early meal to fortify ourselves for our evening flight. Monsieur had the lovely Tasmanian scallops. lucky locals!

Very disappointing with our meals. Table of 4. Beef schnitzel overcooked and dry. Scallops overcooked as big as my fingernail,,sm salad and few chips $38 Ordered hot choclate & came out cold. 5 male staff on duty. Our waiter not impressed. Local residents who won't be returning

Food was nice, staff very friendly and great atmosphere. Unfortunately food took about an hour to come out so 4/5. Came back 27/5/23, updated rating to 5/5. Staff was hilariously entertaining and friendly, food was incredible, food came out quickly this time, but restaurant was pretty quiet. Brilliant experience! Thanks Beltana! Had the privilege of proposing to my now fiancè at the Beltana Hotel - Bar at dinner time. I had amazing service with staff and quick food service too. The manager and other staff there are very friendly and helpful in helping my make my engagement story come to life. Helped me plan the seating and how i had the ring situated to suprise my partner, i couldnt thank them for the well executed efforts they have allowed for the night. I have to highly recommend this venue. Thank you Beltana Hotel - Bar 😊

Shame how much this place has lowered its standards, we recently visited and was disgusted by dirty menus and the incompetence off our waitress Mollie. Such a beautiful venue being wasted by bad management and obviously poor training. Won’t be returning again.

I used to eat here often. Not any more. I thought they must have changed hands, and the new owners were just finding their way. Unfortunately, not so. The meat dishes are just a tiny plate of mistery kebab shavings. Parmi was covered with jar sauce. Zero service. Dirty menu papers. Underwhelming. They are just not interested. What a shame.

Beautiful location with a view out over the Derwent River and the Tasman Bridge up to the mountain. Food was very tasty, made well and fresh. Not many people in there when we were there, that could be due to the time of year. Good prices and friendly service make this place a winner.

Just a pub with pub meals. The man that was rostered on the night we went thought he was hilarious cracking jokes, he was just rude. Parking options at the venue are very limited.

We had a great experience at the restaurant! The food was fantastic and the service was wonderful. Our waiter was so friendly and made the meal even more enjoyable. My 2-year-old grandson thought he was hilarious! We will definitely be back.
